Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan kaligrafi guru MDTA Kota Sawahlunto melalui pelatihan menggunakan metode demonstrasi terbimbing. Partisipan pelatihan perwakilan guru MDTA Kota Sawahlunto sebanyak 20 orang. Pelatihan menggunakan metode participatory action research, dengan langkah berikut: penyusunan jadwal kegiatan, penyusunan materi dan tutorial khat naskhi, pengerjaan tugas mandiri sebagai pretest, pelatihan kaidah khat naskhi dengan metode demonstrasi terbimbing, praktek penulisan khat naskhi secara terbimbing, produk karya kaligrafi sebagai posttest, dan pembekalan guru dengan buku panduan dan video tutorial. Berdasarkan analisis karya pretest dan posttest terjadi peningkatan kemampuan kaligrafi guru MDTA pada kriteria baik meningkat dari 1 orang menjadi 7 orang, peserta yang berada pada kriteria cukup menurun dari 7 orang menjadi 5 orang, dan peserta yang perlu bimbingan juga menurun dari 12 orang menjadi 4 orang guru. Secara umum pelatihan kaligrafi dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi terbimbing berimplikasi pada peningkatan kemampuan guru MDTA dalam menulis huruf Arab berkaidah khat naskhi.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of character education in developing students’ discipline through religious-based activities. The research aims to describe the forms of disciplinary character development among students at the Surau of Yayasan Amal Saleh Padang City, identify problems related to discipline in the implementation of congregational Subuh prayer, and analyze the efforts made to overcome these problems. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that disciplinary character development is implemented through habituation, role modeling, regulations, and supervision of religious activities, especially congregational Subuh prayer. The main obstacles include students’ lack of self-awareness, fatigue due to academic activities, and inconsistent time management. Efforts to address these challenges involve guidance, motivation, and strengthening supervision. In conclusion, the Surau plays a significant role in fostering students’ disciplinary character through structured and continuous religious guidance.

Abstract

This study investigates the Islamic creed values contained in Pedoman Hidup di Alam Minangkabau, a classical Minangkabau text written by Syekh Sulaiman Arrasuli. Using a qualitative descriptive content analysis approach, this research explores how the text integrates Islamic teachings with Minangkabau traditional wisdom. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed through reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The findings reveal several core values of Islamic creed emphasized in the text, including obedience in worship, sincerity in performing deeds, steadfastness and patience in facing life's trials, the cultivation of remembrance of Allah, and the integration of faith into social and cultural life. The study concludes that the text serves as an essential reference for understanding how Islamic values are harmonized with Minangkabau customs and provides relevant insights for Islamic education today.

Abstract

Islamic education in the novel "We Are (Not) Paper Scholars" by J.S. Khairen. In addition, this study analyzes the relevance of these values ​​in shaping the character of the younger generation. The method used is qualitative with a content analysis approach. Data were collected through intensive reading and recording of quotations related to Islamic educational values. The quotations were then categorized and analyzed based on Islamic character education theory. The results show that this novel contains core values, such as religiosity, honesty, hard work, responsibility, discipline, empathy, and social solidarity. These values ​​are highly relevant to shaping the character of the younger generation, especially in facing moral, social, and cultural challenges in the modern era. Therefore, this novel can serve as an alternative medium for Islamic-based character education.

Abstract

Penurunan pengetahuan masyarakat dan rendahnya partisipasi remaja dalam penyelenggaraan jenazah menjadi perhatian penting di Nagari Harau, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Banyak remaja enggan terlibat dalam praktik fardhu kifayah karena pemahaman yang terbatas, kurangnya proses kaderisasi, serta anggapan bahwa pengurusan jenazah hanya menjadi tanggung jawab kelompok orang dewasa tertentu. Kondisi ini mengancam keberlanjutan praktik keagamaan yang benar dan dapat mengurangi penghormatan serta kesucian jenazah. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi konseptual dan keterampilan praktis masyarakat dalam tata cara penyelenggaraan jenazah sekaligus mendorong lahirnya kader remaja yang baru. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi awal dengan pemangku kepentingan lokal, pelatihan teori terstruktur, demonstrasi praktik langsung, penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, serta pendampingan berkelanjutan melalui platform komunikasi digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan, kepercayaan diri, dan keterampilan peserta, di mana lebih dari 80% menunjukkan perkembangan terukur pada pemahaman teori maupun praktik simulasi. Secara kualitatif, kegiatan ini memperkuat kerja sama antargenerasi, meningkatkan motivasi remaja, serta memperbaiki kesiapan masyarakat dalam menghadapi situasi kematian. Secara keseluruhan, program ini mampu memperkuat kapasitas masyarakat dan mendukung keberlanjutan praktik penyelenggaraan jenazah sesuai tuntunan agama

Abstract

The decline in students' interest in learning the Koran at TPQ Tajul Arifin Kapalo Mosque, Koto, Padang City is a phenomenon that needs serious attention. Interest in learning is an important factor in the success of the learning process, especially in learning the Al-Qur’an which requires seriousness and active involvement from students. This research aims to identify the factors causing the decline in students' interest in learning the Koran at TPQ. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in this research consisted of TPQ teachers, students, and parents of students. Data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity is obtained through source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of the research show that the factors causing the decline in students' interest in learning the Al-Qur'an at TPQ Tajul Arifin Kapalo Koto Mosque include internal and external aspects. Internal factors involve low motivation to learn, lack of basic ability to read the Koran, and lack of self-awareness of students. Meanwhile, external factors include the lack of effective learning methods used by teachers, the lack of learning support facilities, and the lack of parental participation in supporting children's learning processes at home. Based on these findings, several solutions are recommended to increase students' interest in learning, such as implementing more innovative and interactive learning strategies, improving learning facilities and infrastructure, as well as increasing parental involvement in supporting Al-Qur'an learning at home. In this way, it is hoped that the TPQ Tajul Arifin Mosque can create a more conducive learning environment and be able to increase the enthusiasm of students in studying the Al-Qur'an.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the still low ability of students to read the Al-Qur'an, thus a program for the Religious Education Center (Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an, TPQ) is needed to improve these skills at SMP Negeri 18 Padang. The purpose of this research is to analyze the planning and implementation stages of the TPQ program and to identify the factors that influence its success. The method used is qualitative research with a field research approach, involving five informants selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were subsequently analyzed systematically with reference to the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the planning stages of the TPQ program include the determination of objectives, materials, and methods. The implementation of the program uses the Iqro' and Qiro'ati methods, which consist of initial, core, closing activities, and evaluation stages. The success factors of the program are influenced by internal factors, namely the quality of learning and students, as well as external factors including support from parents, teachers, schools, and peers. The TPQ program has proven to play an important role in improving students' abilities to read the Al-Qur'an.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of religious character through the practice of Dhuha prayer at UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Kecamatan Harau. The purpose of this research is to examine the implementation of Dhuha prayer activities as a means of fostering students’ religious character and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data sources include informants such as the principal, vice principal, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) coordinator, Dhuha prayer supervising teacher, and ten seventh-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested using technique and source triangulation. The findings show that the implementation of Dhuha prayer habituation at the school is well-executed and has significantly contributed to the development of students’ religious character. The activity has proven effective in fostering discipline, honesty, and responsibility, enhancing worship awareness, strengthening faith and devotion to Allah SWT, and promoting mutual respect among people of different religions. Supporting factors include school support, teacher involvement, and adequate facilities and infrastructure. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors involve a lack of awareness among some students and technical challenges in maintaining the routine. The conclusion of this study is that Dhuha prayer habituation is an effective strategy for holistically shaping students' religious character within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Islamic educational values, particularly the concept of tawhid (oneness of God), in the animated series Ubay produced by Yufid TV as an alternative learning medium for children in the digital era. Islamic values need to be instilled from an early age to enable younger generations to fully understand and practice Islamic teachings, while exposure to digital content that does not align with Islamic principles presents a significant challenge. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, this study explores how tawhid values are conveyed in each episode of the Ubay animation. The findings show that the animation successfully delivers tawhid teachings through narratives emphasizing the recognition of God's oneness, the importance of prayer, gratitude, patience, empathy, and understanding Allah as the Creator. These values are communicated through storytelling, dialogue, and habituation methods presented in a simple and interactive manner, making it easier for children to comprehend and internalize the moral messages conveyed. The findings affirm that Ubay serves not only as entertainment but also as an effective educational medium for contextualizing Islamic values. The implication is that digital media products integrating religious messages such as Ubay can serve as valuable references in developing Islamic value-based learning media for early childhood education.

Abstract

The lack of student interest in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 35 Padang highlights the need for innovative instructional media that can enhance student engagement. This study aims to analyze the effect of using Kahoot as a learning medium on the learning interest of eighth-grade students in PAI. A quantitative approach with a correlational method was employed. The sample consisted of 61 students from classes VIII-1, VIII-2, and VIII-5, selected using the Slovin formula. Research instruments included a learning interest questionnaire and students' academic scores. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with SPSS version 30. The results show that the use of Kahoot has a positive and significant influence on students’ learning interest, with a relatively high level of effect. These findings support the theory that interactive learning media can enhance students' motivation and engagement in the learning process. The study concludes that Kahoot is an effective learning medium for increasing student interest in PAI. The implications include a theoretical contribution to the literature on digital media in education and practical recommendations for teachers to integrate Kahoot as an innovative and interactive learning tool. This research also opens opportunities for further studies on the effectiveness of other digital media in influencing students' affective and cognitive domains.
