Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas XI SMAS Bodhi Dharma masih tergolong rendah.

Abstract

This research aims to review the literature related to the use of learning media in enhancing mathematical creative thinking skills. The method applied in this research is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). As many as 20 articles were used as data sources in this study. Data were collected by reviewing all articles obtained from the period 2018 to 2023. To complete this research, various journal articles were collected through Google Scholar with the help of the Harzing's Publish or Perish application. The keywords in this article are "learning media and mathematical creative thinking skills." The research results show that the R&D (Research and Development) research method is used more frequently, accounting for 55%, compared to other research methods, with the topic of using electronic learning media to enhance students' mathematical creative thinking skills. Furthermore, the use of electronic learning media, such as e-comics, e-modules, learning videos, educational games, mobile learning, edutainment games, visual videos, Adobe Flash Professional, Go-Metra board games on geometry transformation material, Articulate Storyline 3, and e-learning, is effective in improving students' mathematical creative thinking skills. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide useful information for other researchers and assist educators in applying learning media to enhance students' mathematical creative thinking skills in the 21st-century learning era.

Abstract

In the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education, communicative competence remains a crucial goal for higher education students. However, the roles of learning strategies—particularly metacognitive and socio-affective strategies in shaping communicative competence are still underexplored. This study aims to examine the predictive relationship between students’ use of metacognitive and socio-affective strategies and their overall communicative competence. Employing a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis, data were collected from 120 EFL university students using standardized questionnaires. The findings revealed that socio-affective strategies significantly predicted students’ communicative competence, while metacognitive strategies did not demonstrate a significant effect. The results suggest that emotional regulation, interpersonal interaction, and social support are essential components in enhancing students’ ability to communicate effectively in English. This research contributes to applied linguistics and EFL pedagogy by emphasizing the importance of socio-affective dimensions in language learning and advocating for strategy-based instruction in classrooms. In terms of practical contribution, the study offers insights for language educators and curriculum developers to design more holistic and student-centered teaching strategies that promote not only linguistic knowledge but also emotional engagement and communicative confidence among students.

Abstract

The lack of contextual and integrative learning media is one of the challenges in enhancing maritime literacy among students. This study aims to develop a maritime-based STEAM laboratory book that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' understanding of maritime concepts and their problem-solving skills in science learning. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed product was designed based on the STEAM approach with six stages: focus, detail, discovery, implementation, presentation, and link. The validity of the book was obtained from expert evaluations, with scores of 81% for content and 85% for design, both categorized as highly valid. The practicality of the book was assessed based on teacher responses (92%) and student responses (85.4%), both of which were classified as highly practical. The effectiveness of the product was shown by student responses (83.7%),and there was an improvement in problem-solving skills

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of the Wonderland Dance performance as part of a community service program. The background of this activity is the urgency to preserve and introduce Indonesian culture in the midst of globalization, where traditional values often face challenges from modern culture. The objective was to promote Indonesian cultural identity while providing students with learning opportunities in leadership, teamwork, and cultural diplomacy. The method included several stages, namely choreography preparation, costume arrangement, coordination with local authorities in Kampung Tanjung Surat, Johor, Malaysia, and the final performance. Data were obtained through observation and informal interviews, then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the Wonderland Dance was enthusiastically welcomed by the local community, with active participation and appreciation. Students also gained valuable experience in cultural exchange and organizational skills. In conclusion, cultural performances such as the Wonderland Dance can serve as effective media for cultural introduction, strengthening social relations, and empowering communities. Furthermore, this activity illustrates how higher education institutions can contribute to cultural preservation through community engagement. It highlights the significance of student involvement in promoting local wisdom, ensuring that Indonesian traditions continue to be recognized and appreciated in a global context.
