Abstract

Abstract

The application of the green marketing concept is needed for green product manufacturers to compete and emphasize their competitive advantages effectively. Green marketing offers many benefits to producers, including improved profitability, productivity, and company image. As producers of green products, rattan craft Small and Medium Enterprises should implement green marketing to get more benefits. Nevertheless, rattan craft small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) still need to adopt this practice. The lack of ability to effectively convey an environmentally friendly image has led to a decline in consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Therefore, this study aims to formulate a green marketing strategy to enhance consumer satisfaction and loyalty towards rattan handicrafts. The research is located in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan Province. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and questionnaires. A green marketing strategy was formulated using the 7P green marketing mix consisting of product, price, place, promotion, people, process and physical evidence and analyzed using Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT). The prioritization of green marketing strategy is determined using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The result indicated that among strengths and opportunities, it is made from materials that are safe for the environment and can be developed into various products are the two most important factors. In contrast, among weaknesses and threats, products are less varied, and the existence of substitute goods such as plastic and bamboo are the weaknesses and threats that are most concern. The alternative green marketing mix strategy formulated consists of maximizing the use of e-commerce, expanding cooperation and networking with stakeholders, increasing innovation and product variants, green advertising in digital media, guaranteeing green products through green label certification, and increasing discounts and bonuses for purchasing a certain amount. The research results also showed that the primary priority strategy is increasing innovation and product variants, while less priority is adding discounts and bonuses for purchasing specific quantities.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of financial literacy and examine the influencing factors among independent oil palm smallholders operating in the tidal land areas of Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Despite the region's significant agricultural potential, particularly in oil palm cultivation, local farmers often face financial vulnerability due to limited financial knowledge. Using a sample of 100 respondents selected through simple random sampling across Wanaraya, Tamban, and Barambai Districts, the study evaluates financial literacy based on the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) framework and applies binary logistic regression to identify key determinants. The Wald test analysis confirms that income, formal education, proximity to financial institutions, and individual risk preferences significantly influence financial literacy among the respondents. Specifically, higher income and more years of formal education are associated with increased likelihood of being financially literate. A shorter distance to financial institutions also positively affects literacy, suggesting that physical access to financial services supports better financial understanding. Additionally, individuals with higher risk preferences tend to have greater financial literacy, potentially due to increased engagement with financial decision-making. Conversely, age was found to have no significant effect, which confirms that financial literacy is not inherently tied to a person’s age or life stage. Instead, it is determined by exposure to financial knowledge, access to resources, and engagement with financial practices, factors that vary regardless of age. While the study is limited by its regional scope and sample size, it offers critical insights for policymakers and stakeholders in promoting targeted financial education programs for rural agricultural communities. The findings emphasize the need for accessible, context-specific financial literacy initiatives to enhance the economic resilience of smallholder farmers in underdeveloped regions.

Abstract

This article analyzes the factors that influence the food security of lowland rice farmers' households in tidal land, Barito Kuala Regency. Respondents from this study were 100 rice farmers in tidal land. The analysis for consumption patterns and food security uses descriptive analysis with an approach to the level of adequacy of energy and protein, while for the analysis of factors that affect food security uses a binary logistic regression model. The results showed that the pattern of energy consumption by rice farmers in tidal swamp land was 1,668 calories/capita/day and protein was 48.37 grams/capita/day. The number of farmers who are included in the food security category is 62.00% and 38.00% are not food secure. Households with high food income, small proportion of food expenditure, large availability of food and large area of rice farming land have the opportunity to be more food secure than farmer households on the other hand.
