Abstract

Larantuka was once a catholic kingdom with a religious tradition called Semana Santa which lasted hundreds of years. Semana Santa, which now has developed into a religious tourism attraction, is a combination of history and religious rituals which together with the physical environment together form the image of religious tourism in Larantuka City. However, in its development, Larantuka is increasingly experiencing changes, not only socially, but physically, which then affects the identity of the area which is well-known as a religious tourism destination. Through mental mapping carried out on 32 respondents who took part in Semana Santa, a description was obtained in the form of an overview of Larantuka based on the experience of religious tourism as expressed by 58 environmental attributes. The grouping of the 58 environmental attributes is after known as the image-forming elements of religious tourism destinations, namely Tourism Locations-Sacral Sites, Tourist Locations-Non-Sacral Sites, Activity Support Facilities-Sacral Sites, Other Activity Support Facilities, Transportation Facilities, Linear Attributes, Watershed Landscapes, Local Community Organizations/Settlements, Land Views and Shopping. The ranking for the frequency of describing attributes shows that rankings 1 to 10 are dominated by environmental attributes in the category "Tourist Locations-Sacral Sites". This can indicate that the role of sacred environmental attributes still strongly influences the destination image of Larantuka City compared to other environmental attributes.

Abstract

Abstract

The interior of the postnatal hospital room has a significant influence on psychological comfort in postpartum women. A comfortable and positive interior atmosphere can reduce the stress and anxiety experienced by postpartum women. Interior visual elements such as colour, lighting, decoration, and interior vegetation can provide psychological comfort to patients. RSIA Melati Husada is the only RSIA in Malang with the highest title of Plenary and the majority of its patients feel comfortable with its interior conditions. However, there are differences in interior design between previous studies and the interior in this RSIA. The purpose of this study is to identify how the interior design of the hospital room can be a reference and to find out the visual elements of the interior of the hospital room that are able to influence the psychological comfort of postpartum women. The research method is descriptive qualitative with a Post-Positivism paradigm to compare previous theories with field conditions. The results of the comparison analysis between the Grand Theory and empirical data were validated by interviews with postpartum patients to determine their suitability. The results of the data triangulation discussion resulted in an interior design reference that was able to influence the psychological comfort of postpartum patients. In addition, it was found that the visual interior elements that are able to influence psychological comfort in postpartum women are elements of colour, material, decoration, lighting, view, and privacy, and based on patient preferences, the element that most influences their psychological comfort is the decoration element. Keywords: interior visual elements, hospital room, psychological comfort, postpartum patient.

Abstract

Abstract

Historic urban corridors possess diverse visual characteristics and distinctive features that cannot be captured through conventional photographic survey techniques or through 3D modeling per building. This study aims to develop a digital simulation workflow framework based on montage to reconstruct and evaluate the spatial characteristics of the historic corridor of Jalan Idjen in Malang, Indonesia, which is one of the important historical landscape heritages that is starting to undergo rapid commercial transformation. This research method integrates sequential photo mapping, panoramic photo montage, 3D modeling with low-polygon techniques, and the implementation of immersive rendering to represent the integration of visual sequences that create spatial continuity, façade rhythm, and mass proportions. The novelty of this research is to translate visual perception at the scale of urban corridors into a qualitative evaluation through immersive modeling as a research gap in the digital visual study of historic landscapes. The results of this study reveal that qualitative evaluations of visual quality, spatial legibility, and aesthetic coherence indicate that the uniformity of building height and setbacks and the presence of vegetation strengthen the identity of the historic corridor, while the presence of signage, color inconsistencies, and fragmentation of building masses create visual continuity disruptions. Furthermore, the development of this research workflow framework has proven to be efficient and easily replicable for diagnosing other corridor segments, in supporting the sensitivity of conservation policies and controlling the growth rate of the visual and spatial layout of historic urban corridors.

Abstract

Malang City is renowned for its rich local wisdom and well-preserved colonial-era heritage in East Java. Kampung Kayutangan is a settlement that exemplifies the cultural depth of the city and serves as a significant destination for heritage tourism. This study examines how spatial structures and local knowledge affect tourist experiences by incorporating space syntax analysis with axial and visibility graph analysis to forecast pedestrian movement by evaluating spatial connectivity and visibility, utilizing place-centered mapping results derived from field observations. The findings demonstrate that while syntactic indicators reveal spatial hierarchies and accessibility, visitors are often drawn to culturally meaningful locations, even if these sites possess lower visibility. The study underscores the importance of incorporating local knowledge and historical context into urban spatial planning. By linking analytical methods with grounded cultural insights, this research presents a framework for sustainable heritage management and design that honors the identity and memory of a place. Planning strategies should accommodate cultural assets by enhancing accessibility, signage, and amenities to culturally significant yet spatially disconnected areas and ensuring that local wisdom continues to inform and enrich contemporary urban development.

The Madurese community is known as an individual, independent and subsistent corn farming community, identified as having three main territories: residential territory, open space territory and agricultural landscape territory. The distance between clusters of distant residential causes is referred to as individual society as well as independent. The dependence of life on crops causes the distance of dwelling with the agricultural landscape so close that it is called subsistence society. Land-based economic morality, due to the persistence of maintaining spatial territory. So the fundamental question of research is how the third spatial pattern of territory in the village of Laok Madura Madura? The strategy used is ethnography, with qualitative research design. The main data collection methods were in-depth interviews, no open questions, with typical case sampling techniques in four occupancy based on five criteria: civitas, activity, shelter pattern, agricultural landscape pattern and artifacts existence of crop storage object. Internal validation in the form of observation, measurement and architectural documentation, caused by the characteristic of ethnic sub-ethnic of Madura, so that the head of village is not a source of internal validation, but the participant as the owner of the dwelling. The analysis is done by comparing with anthropological-architectural concept, human space concept, also with related theme study. The results obtained at least found the embodiment of the concept of spatial patterns called habitat. The concept of a spatial pattern called habitat consists of: place, environment and landscape. The arrangement of the three forms a hierarchical bubble that places in the environment, while place and environment are in the landscape.
