Abstract

This study aimed to assess shark catches at PPI Ujung Serangga, Southwest Aceh, focusing on species composition, size and conservation status. Data were collected through field surveys and direct measurements of sharks landed by fishers. Results showed that bottom longlines were the most widely used fishing gear and produced the highest shark catches. A total of 643 individual sharks from 16 species were identified, with the family Carcharhinidae dominating the catch. Most of the sharks caught were below gonad length (Lm), indicating the potential for juvenile shark fishing. The conservation status of sharks evaluated based on IUCN showed that most species were categorized as Near Threatened (NT) and Vulnerable (VU), with some species categorized as Critically Endangered (CR) and Endangered (EN). Almost all identified shark species are listed in CITES Appendix II. This research highlights the importance of sustainable shark fisheries management to maintain populations and biodiversity in the Southwest Aceh region. Keywords:SharkConservation StatusCITESSouthwest Aceh

Abstract

This study explores the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) as a decentralized storage solution aimed at reducing dependence on centralized cloud systems. The research analyzes how the integration of IPFS with blockchain and smart contracts can enhance data security, maintain data availability, and minimize censorship risks in digital environments. This topic is relevant because centralized storage still places control in a single point, creating vulnerabilities to cyberattacks, unauthorized access, and failures caused by system dependency. Although several studies have discussed IPFS in different contexts, there is a clear gap in the absence of a structured comparative explanation showing how IPFS, blockchain, and smart contracts operate together in decentralized data governance. Using a qualitative literature review from reputable academic sources, this study synthesizes existing findings into a clearer conceptual mapping. The novelty lies in the development of a comparative matrix that unifies previous technical insights, providing a more accessible understanding of how decentralized technologies support secure and censorship-resistant data ecosystems. The results indicate that IPFS preserves data authenticity through cryptographic hashing, improves data availability through distributed replication, and reduces censorship risks because access does not depend on a central authority. However, several challenges remain, including latency, uneven node distribution, and the difficulty of fully removing stored data. Overall, the study concludes that IPFS shows strong potential for future digital infrastructure, yet its adoption requires strategic planning, supportive policies, and gradual implementation to ensure sustainability and operational effectiveness across diverse technological environments.

Abstract

The effectiveness of health interventions is determined by multiple factors, such as leadership, participation, and environmental support. This study analyzes the determinants and most influential factors contributing to the success of health interventions. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional analytical design was employed, involving 194 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. Data analysis utilized the chi-square test and logistic regression. The findings indicate that leadership capacity (p=0.021; OR=2.130), participation (p=0.000; OR=3.640), communication skills (p=0.000; OR=8.016), support in decision making (p=0.000; OR=4.800), access to health facilities (p=0.000; OR=4.759), local culture and norms (p=0.012; OR=2.231), transformational leadership style (p=0.000; OR=15.171), and servant leadership style (p=0.011; OR=2.231) significantly affect the success of health interventions. In contrast, community credibility and trust (p=0.869) and regional policies (p=0.843) do not demonstrate a significant effect. These results confirm that leadership quality and participatory support, particularly transformational leadership style and effective communication skills, are critical to the success of health interventions.

Abstract

The advancement of web-based 3D visualization technology has created new opportunities for interactive medical learning, particularly in anatomy education. The existing rendering techniques for the mobile web still face challenges due to limitations of cellular and mobile device capacity This study focuses on optimizing real-time rendering of an interactive 3D heart model for mobile web platforms using WebGL and Three.js. Several optimization techniques were applied, including Draco compression, polygon reduction, and the GLB file format, to achieve high rendering performance while maintaining anatomical accuracy. Performance testing was conducted on three device tiers—low-, mid-, and high-end—under different network conditions. Key metrics such as frame rate, loading time, and memory usage were systematically measured. The optimized system achieved stable rendering at 58–60 FPS with a reduced loading time from 6.2 seconds to 1.4 seconds, demonstrating strong scalability and responsiveness. From an educational perspective, this interactive 3D heart model enables medical students, trainees, and patients to dynamically explore cardiac anatomy, improving their spatial understanding of complex structures without requiring high-end VR hardware. The novelty of this work lies in its optimization pipeline tailored for mobile web, making real-time anatomical visualization lightweight and accessible. Future research will involve larger user studies to evaluate educational effectiveness.

Abstract

Feature selection plays a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of medical classification models. This study compares two feature selection approaches—filter and wrapper methods—in developing a k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) model for heart disease risk classification. The dataset consists of patients’ demographic data, lifestyle factors, and clinical indicators. In this study, the filter method was applied by considering data types: Pearson Correlation was used for numerical features, while the Chi-Square test was applied to categorical features. The selected features from both techniques were then combined, reducing the initial 20 features to four key variables considered most relevant for heart disease risk classification: BMI, homocysteine level, blood pressure, and stress level. This approach achieved high computational efficiency; however, it resulted in only a modest accuracy improvement (76.8%) and a low recall for the minority class (0.07). In contrast, the wrapper method using Sequential Forward Selection (SFS) produced a more informative subset of 11 features, achieving higher accuracy (80.00%) and a ROC-AUC of 0.657, indicating better discrimination capability for the minority class. These findings suggest that while the filter method excels in simplicity and computational efficiency, the wrapper method is more effective in improving classification performance. This study provides empirical insights into selecting appropriate feature selection strategies based on analytical objectives, particularly for clinical decision support systems.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) occupy a strategic position in national economic development, particularly in efforts to reduce poverty and improve societal welfare. However, the realization of this role is not determined solely by economic factors, but is also strongly influenced by institutional quality and public governance practices. This study aims to systematically examine the contribution of MSMEs to poverty alleviation in Indonesia, while also identifying the major thematic clusters discussed in the literature. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using a bibliometric approach based on RIS data. The findings indicate that MSMEs make a significant contribution to poverty reduction through job creation, income generation, strengthening local economic communities, and community empowerment, particularly in rural areas. The reviewed literature categorizes the role of MSMEs into several key clusters, including institutional and public policy aspects, improvement of poor households’ welfare, community-based local economic development, and the linkage between MSMEs and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nevertheless, the effectiveness of MSMEs’ contributions is often constrained by weak governance, low levels of financial literacy, and corrupt political practices, which result in inequities in the distribution of policy benefits)
