Abstract

This research aimed to investigate whether the implementation of cooperative learning model of numbered heads together was effective in increasing student’s mathematical conceptual understanding. This research design was pretest-posttest control design. The research population was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 2 Way Seputih in academic year of 2013/2014 that was distributed into five classes. The research samples were students of VIII E and VIII F class who were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The research data were obtained by test of mathematical conceptual understanding. Based on hypothesis analysis, it was found the conclusion that the implementation of learning model of numbered heads together was not more effective than conventional learning model in increasing student’s mathematical conceptual understanding.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan model pembelajaran numbered heads together efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest control design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Way Seputih tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 yang terdistribusi dalam lima kelas. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII E dan VIII F yang diambil dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran NHT tidak lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran konvensional, model pembelajaran NHT, pemahaman konsep matematis

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of initial ability and learning motivation on students' mathematical communication skills. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA SMA Fransiskus Bandar Lampung odd semester 2020/2021 academic year. The sample of this research was 32 students of class XI_IPA_2, who were selected using cluster random sampling technique. Analysis of research data using multiple linear regression test. The results of the hypothesis test show that there is a significant influence between initial ability on mathematical communication skills, there is a significant influence between learning motivation on mathematical communication skills, and there is a significant influence jointly between initial ability and learning motivation on mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that the initial ability and learning motivation have a significant effect on students' mathematical communication skills. Keywords: Influence, Initial Ability, Learning Motivation, Mathematical Communication
