Abstract

This research aimed to describe the skills of communicating and infering on colloidal material with application of problem solving learning model for high, medium, and low cognitive groups students. The subjects were XI Science 1 of Senior High School 12 Bandar Lampung 2012/2013. This research was pre-experimental research design with one shot case study. It used descriptive analysis. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that (1) the students’ skill in communicating, in high group, 88,89% was excellent, and 11,11% good; in medium group, 27,22% was excellent, 59,08%  good, and 13,7%  enough; in the low group, 22,22% was excellent, 33,33% good, and 44% enough. (2) the students’ skill of inferring, in high group, 77,7% was excellent, and 22,3% good; in medium group, 36,6% was excellent, and 63,4% good; in the low group, 11,11% was excellent, 66,67%  good, and 22% enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan menyimpulkan pada materi koloid dengan penerapan model probem solving untuk siswa kelompok kognitif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA1 SMA N 12 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini merupa­kan pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one shot case study. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif.  Dari hasil analisis data disimpulkan (1) keterampilan mengkomunikasikan, kelompok tinggi 88,89% siswa berkriteria sangat baik, dan 11,11% baik; kelompok sedang 27,22% berkriteria sangat baik, 59,08% baik, dan 13,7% cukup; kelompok rendah 22,22%  berkriteria sangat baik, 33,33% baik dan 44% cukup. (2) Keterampilan menyimpulkan, kelompok tinggi 77,7% siswa berkriteria sangat baik, dan 22,3% baik; ke­lom­pok sedang 36,6% berkriteria sangat baik, dan 63,4% baik; kelompok rendah 11,11% berkri­teria sangat baik, 66,67% baik, dan 22 % cukup.Kata kunci: koloid, mengkomunikasikan, menyimpulkan,  problem solving.

Abstract

Abstract, chemistry learning in schools tends to just memorize the concepts and less able to use these concepts if faced problems in real life that associated with the concept held. The result is chemistry learning losing its appeal and its relevance to the real world that should be become the object of the science. Therefore, it is designed a learning through SBEI learning model.The Research aims to determine the effectiveness of the SBEI learning model in increasing mastery of concepts on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution material. This research using a quasi-experimental methods Non Equivalent (pretest and postest) Control Group Design. The research sample are X1 and X3 grade students of SMAN 1 Gadingrejo (State senior high school 1 Gadingrejo) 2011-2012 school year that have almost the same characteristics. This Effectiveness of SBEI learning model is measured based on significantly gain increase. The results showing that n-Gain average value of mastery on concepts for the control and experimental classes respectively are 0.498 and 0.572.Based on the hypothesis testing, improved that class with SBEI learning has higher mastery on concepts than conventional learning model. This shows that SBEI learning is more effective in mastering concept of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions.Keywords: learning by Empirical Inductive Learning Cycle models, concept mastery.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the Problem Solving learning model that are effective in improving the communication and the inferen  skills on Redoks Reaction  material. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. This research use a quasi-experimental methods with Non Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The sample in this research is students of State Senior High School Yadika in Bandar Lampung and obtained X 3 and X 5 class at school year 2012-2013 which has almost the same characteristics. The effectiveness of Problem Solving learning model measured on the difference and the improvement of a significant N-gain. The results showed the average value of N-gain communication  skills for control class and experiment  class are 0,44 and 0.62, and the average value of N-gain inferen skills for control class and experiment class are 0.45 and 0.60. Based on the test of the hypothesis, it is known that a class with Problem Solving learning model has the communication and the inferen skills higher than conventional class learning. This showed that the Problem Solving learning was more effective in improving the communication and the inferen skills.Kata kunci:   pembelajaran problem solving, keterampilan mengkomunika­sikan, keterampilan menyimpulkan.

Abstract

Based on observation and interview with chemistry subject teacher in Grade X of State Senior High School 01 Simpang Pematang in Mesuji, the results showed that the average marks of Grade X students’ concept mastery on hydrocarbon material in academic year 2009-2010 was 50.35. The minimum accomplishment criteria established by the school for chemistry was that 100% of students should get more than 62 and only 45% of them got more than 62. The observation results showed that learning process was still dominated by teachers, while students were passive and on taskactivities were low. An effort to overcome this problem was by implementing empirical-inductive learning cycle model in giving hydrocarbon material.The objective of this research was to describe implementations of empirical-inductive learning cycle model to improve: (1) percentage average of on task students’ activities; (2) average of concept masteries; and (3) students’ learning accomplishment. This was a classroom action research which was conducted in three cycles. This research used quantitative data in forms of students’ on task activities, concept masteries, and students’ learning accomplishment.The results showed improvement from cycle 1 to cycle 2 and from cycle 2 to cycle 3 which included: (1) percentage average of each student’s on task activity including asking class mates (6.94% and 12.511% respectively), asking teachers (6.95% and 12.50% respectively), giving opinions (9.72% and 11.11% respectively, answering question (9.72% and 9.73% respectively); (2) concept mastery (8.81% and 7.83% respectively); and (3) student’s learning accomplishment (13.89% and 36.11% respectively ) Therefore, all established performance indicators were achieved.Keywords: empirical-inductive learning cycle, concept mastery, learning accomplishment, on task  activity.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop the students worksheet of matter particles based on chemistry representations for students in junior high school, to describe the characteristics of the developed students worksheet, to describe teachers’ responses and students’ responses of the developed students worksheet and to know the obstacles encountered in developing the students worksheet.  This research used Research and Development method.  The results showed that teachers’ responses of the developed students worksheet in the content’s suitability aspect were 94,54%, in the attraction aspect were 95% and in the readable aspect were 96%.  All of the teachers’ responses were very high category.  The result showed that students’ responses of the developed students worksheet in the attraction aspect were 85,21% and in the readable aspect were 88%.  All of the students’responses were very high category.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja siswa partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia untuk siswa pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama, mendeskripsikan karakteristik LKS yang dikembangkan, mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan tanggapan siswa terhadap LKS yang telah dikembangkan dan mengetahui kendala-kendala yang ditemui saat mengembangkan LKS.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanggapan guru terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan pada aspek kesesuaian isi sebesar 94,54%, pada aspek kemenarikan sebesar 95% dan pada aspek keterbacaan sebesar 96%.  Tanggapan dari guru tersebut semuanya termasuk ke dalam kategori sangat tinggi.  Sedangkan tanggapan siswa terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan pada aspek kemenarikan sebesar 85,21% dan pada aspek keterbacaan sebesar 88%.  Tanggapan dari siswa tersebut semuanya termasuk ke dalam kategori sangat tinggi.Kata kunci: lembar kerja siswa, partikel materi, representasi kimia.

Abstract

This study purpose to describe critical thinking skill of the eleven science  students in senior high school of international school preparation programs (RSBI) on chemical equilibrium leason.  This study is qualitative study to the type of phenomenological study.  This study is used essaies test, questionnaires, dan interviews manual.  Subjects of this study are 32 students in class XI science 1 of  Senior High School State 1 Kotagajah, 25 students in class XI science 6 of  Senior High School State 1 Metro and 30 students in class XI science 5 of  Senior High School State 9 Bandar Lampung.The result of this study show that four idicators of critical thinking that are answer question “Why”, judging the credibility of procedures, interpretation of statements, and making conclusion base on facts get average-value in a row 66,89; 68,26; 68,25 and 72,22 that all of it are in good criteria and thenindicator of making conclusion base on facts get the highest average-value.  Students in high category, medium category and low category get average-value in a row 75,14; 69,77 and 62,47 all of it are in good criteria and then students in high category have critical thinking skill better than the other category. Abstract

This research was aimed to describe scientific attitude and improvement of higher order thinking skills of acid and base using problem solving learning model. The method used The Matching only pretest and posttest control group design. Sample in this research were taken by purposive sampling tehnique. The effectiveness of problem solving learning model in improving HOTS is t-tes and scientific attitude is qualitative description. The results showed that the average value of n-Gain HOTS were using problem solving learning are higher than using the conventional learnig and percentage of sciencetific attitude student’s in category medium and high are improvement. The conclution of this research was problem solving learning model is effective to improve higher order thinking skills and drill scientific attitude of student’s.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsi sikap ilmiah dan peningkatan HOTS (keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi) pada materi asam basa menggunakan model pembelajaran problem solving. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan The Matching only pretest and posttest control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini ditentukan berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling. Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan HOTS materi asam basa digunakan uji t dan sikap ilmiah dengan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa nilai n-gain HOTS model pembelajaran problem solving lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional serta persentase sikap ilmiah siswa kategori sedang dan tinggi mengalami kenaikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving pada materi asam basa efektif dalam meningkatkan HOTS (keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi) serta dapat melatih sikap ilmiah siswa. Kata Kunci: sikap ilmiah, model pembelajaran problem solving, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model in increasing student’s originality thinking skills in electrolyte and non-electrolyte subject matter.  The population of this research was students of class X SMA Negeri 2 Metro on academic semester 2013/2014.  Sample was taken by purposive sampling and obtained were class X1 and X2as sample.  The method of the research was quasi experimental with non equivalent (pretest and postest) control-group design.  The effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control class and experiment class.  The results showed that the average n-Gain of originality thinking skills of control class and experiment class were 0,18 and 0,54 respectively.  The result of hypothesis testing showed that guided inquiry learning model was effective in improving student’s originality thinking skills in electrolyte and non-electrolyte subject matter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran  inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Metro Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X1 dan X2.  Metode pada penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent (Pretest and Postest)Control-Group Design.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan berpikir orisinil pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,18 dan 0,54.  Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil. Kata kunci : keterampilan berpikir orisinil, larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit, model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the  skills of students in classifying and inferring on the koloid subject through application of problem solving for students cognitive groups of high, intermediate, and low level group.  The subjects were students of class X1 IPA 4 SMA Negeri 3 Bandarlampung. This research used the pre-experimental method  with  one-shot case study design and a descriptive research. The results showed that the skills of classifying in high level group 100,00% were excellent. In the intermediate level group 50% were excellent, 38,89% were good, and 11,11% were enough. In the low level group 33,33% were excellent, 50% were good and 16,67% were enough.  The skills of inferring in high level group 100,00% were excellent. In the intermediate level group, 44,44% were  excellent, 16,67% were good and 38,89% were enough. In the low level group with the same persentation is 33,33%  students were very good, good, enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan mengelompokkan dan inferensi melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving untuk siswa kelompok kognitif tinggi sedang dan rendah.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 4 SMA Negeri 3 Bandarlampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one shot case study serta analisis data deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan mengelompokan pada kelompok tinggi 100,00% berkriteria sangat baik.  Pada kelompok sedang: 50,00% berkriteria sangat baik; 38,89% berkriteria baik dan 11,11% berkriteria cukup.  Pada kelompok rendah 33,33% berkriteria sangat baik; 50,00% berkriteria baik dan 16,67% berkriteria cukup.  Kemampuan inferensi pada kelompok tinggi 100,00% siswa berkriteria sangat baik.  Pada kelompok sedang; 44,44% berkriteria sangat baik, 16,67% berkriteria baik dan 38,89% berkriteria cukup.  Pada kelompok rendah dengan presentase yang sama yaitu 33,33% siswa memiliki kriteria sangat baik, baik, cukup.Kata kunci   : kelompok kognitif, keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi, problem solving.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop animation media based on multiple representations about solubility and constant solubility product material. This research methods used "Research and Development" methods. The result of the research is development product of animation media based on multiple representations about solubility and constant solubility product material. The product which has sections such as opening and title of the program, introduction, instructions to use, KI-KD, cognitive indicator,the material solubility and constanta solubility product, literature, developer profiles, and exit button of program, have a very high content suitability until 95% according to the teacher and high level of the attractiveness that is 89,85% according to the students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media animasi berbasis multipel representasi pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Research and Development. Hasil penelitian ini adalah produk pengembangan berupa media animasi berbasis multipel representasi pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali yang memiliki bagian-bagian berupa opening dan judul program, kata pengantar, petunjuk penggunaan, KI-KD, indikator kognitif, materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan, literatur, profil pengembang, dan tombol keluar dari program, memiliki tingkat kesesuaian isi yang sangat tinggi 95 % menurut guru,memiliki tingkat kemenarikan yang sangat tinggi yaitu 89,85 % menurut siswa.Kata kunci: kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan, media animasi, multipel representasi
