Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of Pre-Lecture Quiz to improve student’s communication skill on Arrhenius acid-base topic. The research method used was quasi experimental with non-equivalen pretest-postest control group design. The sample selection was done by cluster random sampling, obtained XI IPA 1 as experimental class and XI IPA 2 as control class.  The effectiveness of Pre-Lecture Quiz was showed by the significant difference for average n-Gain of flexible thinking skill between the experiment and control class, for experiment class was 0.71 with high categorize and for control class was 0.55 with middle cateogorize. The conclusion of this research is effective Pre-Lecture Quiz and has a high effect size to improve the ability of communication on Arrhenius acid-base topic.Keywords: communication, Pre-Lecture Quiz, Arrhenius acid-basePenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pre-lecture quiz untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non-equivalen pretest-postest control group design. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara cluster random sampling, dan diperoleh kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Efektivitas Pre-Lecture Quiz ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan komunikasi yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yaitu kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,71 dengan kategori “tinggi” dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,55 dengan kategori “sedang”. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu Pre-Lecture Quiz efektif dan mempunyai ukuran pengaruh yang besar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius.Kata Kunci: keterampilan komunikasi, Pre-Lecture Quiz, asam basa Arrhenius

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem based learning model to improve the students’ original thinking ability of acid base topic. This research was conducted at one of Senior High School in Bangun Rejo with using kuasi experiment method with Non Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sample was obtained by cluster random sampling technique and it was obtained sample was the XI IPA 2 as control class and XI IPA 4 as experiment class. Effectiveness was evidenced by improvement of the students’original thinking ability used t-test and than supported by teacher lability and effect size test. The result of this research shown that the students’ original thinking ability is high, teacher ability is very high and effect size had large criteria. Based on them, problem based learning model was effective and had big effect size to improve of the students’ original thinking ability in acid base topic. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan model problem based learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di salah satu SMA Negeri di Bangun Rejo menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel dipilih melalui tehnik cluster random sampling dan diperoleh sampel yaitu kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Keefektifan dibuktikan dari peningkatan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa yang menggunakan uji-t serta didukung oleh kemampuan guru dan uji ukuran pengaruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa tinggi, kemampuan guru sangat tinggi, dan ukuran pengaruh yang besar. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, model problem based learning efektif dan memiliki ukuran pengaruh yang besar dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi asam basa. Abstract

The objective of this research is to know effectiveness of problem solving learning in improving skill induct and considerate induction result . Population was 360 students of Grade X State Senior High School 12 in Bandar Lampung. Samples were X1 and X3 classroom. Every class has 38 students that have equal academic abilities. This was a quasi experiment research using non equivalent control group design. Effectiveness of problem solving learning was measured based on significant n-Gain improvements of showing the general thing and making conclution and hypotesis skill. The both are subindicator of  induction and considerate induction result. The results showed that average value of n-Gain of showing the general thing skill in experiment and control classrooms were 0.4 and 0.28 respectively; and average value of n-Gain for making conclution and hypotesis in experiment and control classrooms were 0.36 and 0.20 respectively. The result showed that classroom that used problem solving had higher induct and considerate result induction skill than classroom with conventional learning. This indicated that problem solving learning was effective to improve student’s induction and considerate induction result skill mastery of the concept at basic laws of chemistry.Keywords: Problem Solving, induction and considerate induction result skill

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out effectiveness of problem solving learning model on salt hydrolysis material in improve the skill of classifying and concept mastery. The population of the research was all students in XI science class in SMAN I Way Jepara number in 120 students. The samples were 30 students in XI science 3 class and 30 students in XI science 4 that have equal academic abilities. This research was a quasi experiment using non equivalent (pretest-postest) control group design. Effectiveness of learning problem solving was measured based on significant gain improvements, and analyze of data using difference of two averages test. The results showed that average value of n-Gain of the skill of clasifying in experiment and control class were 0.67 and 0.42; and average value of n-Gain for concept mastery in experiment and control class were 0.62 and 0.19. The result of difference of two averages test showed that the class used problem solving had higher skill in clasify and concept mastery than class with conventional learning model. This is indicated that problem solving learning model was more effective in improving student’s skill in clasify and concept mastery than conventional learning model.Keywords: problem solving, salt hydrolysis material, improve the skill of classifying and concept mastery

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the ability of drawing conclusions and applying concepts on the acid-base matery through the application of LC3E for students groups of high, intermediate and low level group. The subjects in this research were students of Grade XI Science 4 Senior High School 12 Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013.  This research was a descriptive research, used the pre-experimental method  with a one-shot case study design.  Data analysis used descriptive analysis. Based on the result of data analysis summarized that ability of drawing conclusions in high level group: almost half were excellent and the others were good. In  intermediate level group, almost all were good and the others were excellent. In low level group, small part were good enough and the others were good. The ability of applying the concept in high level group: almost all were excellent and the others were good. In  intermediate level group, just small part were excellent, just small part were good enough and the others were good. In low level group, almost half were excellent, almost half were good and the other were good enough.Kata Kunci: learning cycle 3E, kemampuan menarik kesimpulan, menerapkan konsep, kelompok kognitif.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to 1) describe characteristics of student worksheets oriented on High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) that  developed, 2) describe teacher’s response to student worksheets that  developed and 3) describe students’ response to student worksheets that  developed.  The research method was Research and Development (RD).  The validation result was obtained average percentage on aspects in suitability of content, construction, and readability were 84.30% , 84,00% and 81,50% respectively. The result of teacher’s response was obtained average percentage on aspects in suitability of content, construction, and readability were 88,30%, 93,00% and 92,50% respectively.  The result of students’ responsewas obtained average percentage on aspects inreadability and attractiveness were 84,36% and 81,50% respectively.  Based on validation result, teacher’s response and students’ response on aspects in suitability of content, construction, readability and attractiveness, student worksheets that developed categorized in very high and showed that the student’ worksheets was proper to be used on learning.Tujuan penelitian pengembangan ini untuk 1) mendeskripsikan karakteristik LKS berorientasi HOTS  yang dikembangkan, 2) mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru mengenai LKS yang dikembangkan dan 3) mendeskripsikan tanggapan siswa mengenai LKS yang dikembangkan.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah  metode penelitian Research and Development (RD) dari Sukmadinata (2011).  Hasil validasi ahli pada aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi, dan keterbacaan LKS diperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 84.30% , 84,00% dan 81,50%.  Hasil tanggapan guru terhadap aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi, dan keterbacaan diperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 88,30%, 93,00% dan 92,50%.  Hasil tanggapan siswa terhadap aspek keterbacaan dan kemenarikan diperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 84,36% dan 81,50%.  Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, tanggapan oleh guru dan siswa terhadap aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi, keterbacaandan kemenarikan, LKS yang dikembangkan dikategorikan sangat tinggi sehingga LKS layak untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kata kunci:  keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, LKS, larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the skills of classifying and inferring on colloidal material with application of guided inquiry learning model for high, medium, and low cognitive groups students. The subjects were XI Science 2 of Swadhipa Natar South Lampung 2012/2013. This research was pre-experimental research design with one-shot case study. It used descriptive analysis. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the student’s skill in classifying, in high group, 62,5% was excellent; and 37,5% good. In medium group, 20,0% was excellent; 60,0% good; and 20,0% enough. In the low group, 22,2% was good; and 77,7% was enough. For the student’s skill of inferring, in high group, 75,0% was excellent; and 25,0% good. In medium group, 26,6% excellent; 40% good; and 33,3% enough. In the low group, 33,3% good; and 66,6% enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi pada materi koloid dengan model pembelajaran inkuri terbimbing untuk siswa kelompok kognitif tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Subyek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA2 SMA Swadhipa Natar Lampung Selatan tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini merupakan pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one-shot case study. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan keterampilan siswa mengelompokkan, kelompok tinggi 62,5% siswa berkriteria sangat baik; dan 37,5% baik. Kelompok sedang ada 20,0% berkriteria sangat baik; 60,0% baik; dan 20,0% cukup. Kelompok rendah 22,2% berkriteria baik; dan 77,7% cukup. Keterampilan siswa inferensi, kelompok tinggi 75% siswa berkriteria sangat baik; dan 25,0% baik. Kelompok sedang 26,6% berkriteria sangat baik; 40,0% baik; dan 33,3% cukup. Kelompok rendah ada 33,3% berkriteria baik; dan 66,6 % cukup.Kata kunci: inferensi, inkuiri terbimbing, mengelompokkan

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect size (method size) method in improving the ability and learning activities in patients with acidic acid pH. This research was conducted at one of Senior High School in Bandar Lampung Teaching Year 2017/2018 using quasi experimental method with Non Equivalence Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The statistical method in this study was conducted by using n-gain which was significant between experiment class and control class and supported by student activity. The size associated with using the effect size. The results obtained by students metacognition ability and  student activity average are high, and size of influence is great. With these things, the method used has a large measure in improving the ability and learning activities in patients with acidic acid pH.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan ukuran pengaruh (effect size) metode eksperimen dalam meningkatkan kemampuan metakognisi dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi penentuan pH larutan asam basa.  Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di salah satu SMA di Bandar Lampung Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalence Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. Pengaruh metode eksperimen pada penelitian ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dan didukung oleh aktivitas siswa. Ukuran pengaruh dihitung menggunakan uji effect size. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh kemampuan metakognisi siswa dan rata-rata aktivitas siswa tinggi, dan ukuran pengaruh yang besar. Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of using discovery learning based student worksheet to improve critical thinking skills on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution. The population in this study is all students of class X Natural Science in one of Senior High School in Bandar Lampung in the even semester of academic year 2017/2018. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling and obtained sample of class X Natural Science 7 as experiment class and X Natural Science 8 as control class. This research method is quasi experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The results showed that in the experimental class the average value of n-Gain critical thinking skills was in high criteria. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that student worksheet based on discovery learning have a high effect in improving critical thinking skills on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan lembar kerja siswa berbasis discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektroit. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPA yang ada di salah satu SMA di Bandar Lampung pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling dan diperoleh sampel kelas X IPA7 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X IPA 8 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kelas eksperimen rata-rata nilai n-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa berkriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS berbasis discovery learning berpengaruh tinggi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata Kunci: Discovery learning, kemampuan berpikir kritis, lembar kerja siswa

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of  learning cycle 3E  learning model in improving the skills of inference and mastery of concepts in chemical equilibrium material. Learning cycle 3E model is learning through a series of stages (phases of learning) learning phases include: (1) the exploration phase, (2) explanation of the concept phase, and (3) the application of the concept phase. This study used a quasi-experimental method with Non Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. Effectiveness of the learning cycle 3E model  is measured by an increase in n-Gain significant. The results showed the average value of n-Gain inference skills for grade control and experimental respectively 0.40 and 0.53, and an average of n-Gain the possession concept for the control and experimental classes respectively 0.44 and 0 , 48. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning cycle 3E learning model in chemical equilibrium material effective to enhance inferensi skill and mastery of concepts in medium categoryKeywords: Learning Cycle 3E, inference skills and mastery of concepts
