Abstract

ABSTRACTTrichophyton rubrum is the most common dermatophytosis etiology. The antifungal agent has several problems such as fungal resistance and therapy side effects. Cacao (Theobroma cocoa L.) bean shells extract contained flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins which have an antifungal effect. This study aimed to test the in vitro cacao bean shells extract antifungal (especially: Trichophyton rubrum) effectiveness by agar well diffusion method. This was an experimental study with a post-test only control group design. This study used cacao bean shells extract concentration 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, ketokonazol as positive control, and aquadest as negative control. The average inhibition diameter of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% cacao bean shells extract concentration were 10.65 mm, 18 mm, 26.92 mm, and 37.22 mm, respectively, while the ketoconazole inhibition diameter was 51.52 mm. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test and post hoc with Mann-Whitney. The results showed significant differences between each treatment group (p 0.05). Cacao bean shells extract had an antifungal effect in inhibiting the growth of Tricophyton rubrum invitro.Keywords: Trichophyton rubrum, Cacao Bean Shells, Antifungal, Agar Well Diffusion Method,  ABSTRAKTrichophyton rubrum adalah penyebab paling umum dermatofitosis. Obat dermatofitosis (antijamur) memiliki beberapa masalah seperti resistensi dan efek samping terapi. Ekstrak cangkang biji kakao (Theobroma cocoa L.) mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid, dan saponin yang memiliki efek antijamur. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji efektivitas antijamur (khususnya Trichophyton rubrum) ekstrak cangkang biji kakao secara in vitro dengan metode difusi agar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan post-test only control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsentrasi ekstrak cankang biji kakao 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%, ketokonazol sebagai kontrol positif, dan aquadest sebagai kontrol negatif. Rata-rata diameter hambat konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100%  secara berturut-turut yaitu: 10,65 mm, 18 mm, 26,92 mm, dan 37,22 mm, sedangkan daya hambat ketoconazole adalah 51,52 mm. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Kruskal-Wallis dan post hoc dengan Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara masing-masing kelompok perlakuan (p 0,05). Ekstrak cangkang biji kakao memiliki efek antijamur dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Tricophyton rubrum invitro.Kata kunci: Trichophyton rubrum, Anti-jamur, Cangkang Biji Kaka, Metode Difusi Sumuran Agar

Abstract

Pneumonia is a lung parenchymal infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa.It is Gram negative bacteria that have developed antibiotic resistance. Actinomycetes are Gram-positive bacteria that produce secondary metabolites which have the ability as antimicrobial. Objectives: To identified the ability of Actinomycetes isolates to inhibit the growth of the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. The samples in this experiment were from Kebun Raya Bogor that had been rejuvenated on Starch Casein Agar (SCA). Methods: Six dilution series 10-1; 10-2; 10-3; 10-4; 10-5; 10-6 Actinomycetes isolates were used to observe the inhibition zone of P.aeruginosa growth on Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) media by diffusion method. Results: The effective incubation time occurred at 24 hours, and then it resulted in the average clear zone diameter of 14.70 mm, 10.57 mm, 8.53 mm, 8.47 mm, 6.97 mm, and 5.30 mm. The results of the One – Way Anova test with p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.005) showed some differences at each concentration to inhibit the growth of P.aeruginosa ATCC 27853 at 24 hours incubation period. Conclusion: The most effective concentration of Actinomycetes isolates that can potentially be antibacterial was the concentration of 10-1 with potential solid inhibitory power.Keywords: Actinomycetes, antibacterial, Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Abstract

Tobacco leaf contains antibacterial secondary metabolite compounds, such as phenol, alkaloids, and essential oils. This study compares the potential antibacterial effects of Indonesian tobacco leaf extracted using the heat reflux method (producing an extract) and pyrolysis method (providing a bio-oil). The tobacco leaf extract was challenged against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. The bio-oil from the pyrolysis method showed inhibitory Kirby Bauer zones higher than those of the extract from heat reflux method, with the maximum results in the pyrolysis method indicating zones of 6.35 mm (S. aureus), 5.90 mm (E. faecalis), 3.97 mm (E. coli), and 5.025 mm (P. aeruginosa). Further study analyzed the effectiveness of the disc and well diffusion antibacterial test methods for measuring the antibacterial effect of bio-oils against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853. The bio-oil used in the well diffusion test method showed the most significant antibacterial effectiveness. It showed the biggest inhibition zone, with a maximum of 11.65 mm and 8.90 mm for E. coli and P. aeruginosa. Our results showed Nicotiana tabacum var. Virginia Bio Oil from Ponorogo (Indonesia) is a strong potential antimicrobial, especially using well diffusion test.

Abstract

Kondisi masyarakat mengalami risiko kesehatan serius akibat pandemi Covid-19. Ditambah pelaksanaan PSBB yang juga berdampak bagi kondisi sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat. Meskipun demikian, keadaan ini mendorong maraknya aktivitas bercocok tanam di pekarangan rumah, termasuk aneka tanaman obat. Kebutuhan tanaman ini memang mengalami peningkatan signifikan sebagai asupan untuk meningkatkan imunitas sehingga menjadi peluang ekonomi masyarakat. Pengolahan jamu herbal dapat memberikan nilai tambah tanaman obat tersebut. Akan tetapi, masyarakat di lokasi sasaran banyak yang belum memiliki kemampuan pengolahan produk berdaya simpan lama seperti jamu herbal. Oleh karena itu, solusinya berupa pelatihan dan penyuluhan kesehatan pembuatan jamu herbal. Produk olahan yang diperkenalkan adalah jahe instan dan wedang uwuh. Metode kegiatan dilaksanakan secara daring disebabkan berlangsungnya PSBB. Kegiatan ini diharapkan berdampak positif bagi masyarakat sasaran yaitu peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat tentang pengolahan secara sederhana jamu herbal yang memberi nilai tambah pangan lokal dan pengetahuan tentang Covid-19 dan pencegahannya. Setelah aktivitas pengabdian masyarakat diberikan, kesimpulan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam pengolahan produk jamu herbal. Kata kunci: Jamu, Tanaman obat, Pengolahan, Jahe instan, Wedang uwuh ABSTRACT People are seriously affected by risk health during Covid-19 pandemic. The condition of the community is experiencing severe health risks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, lockdown or large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) implementation also has an impact on people's social and economic. Even though, this situation encourages yard farming activities, including various medicinal plants. The demand of this medicinal plant increased significantly during the pandemic, so that it is an opportunity for people raising economic income. Processing of herbal medicine into products providing added value to these medicinal plants. However, many people in the target locations are unskilled to process products with longer shelf life such as herbal jamu. Therefore, the solution is training and health education in processing herbal jamu. The processed products introduced were instant ginger and wedang uwuh. The method of activities is carried out online due to the ongoing PSBB. This activity is expected to have a positive impact on the target, namely increasing community skills for simple processing of herbal jamu that gives added value to local food and knowledge about Covid-19 and its prevention. After these activities were given, the conclusions indicated that there is an increase in people’s knowledge in processing herbal jamu products. Abstract

Permasalahan yang terjadi sebanyak 15 persen penduduk Depok menyandang penyakit diabetes melitus serta penyebab kematian sekitar 6.84%. Kurangnya perhatian penyandang diabetes terhadap upaya preventif menanggulangi komplikasi diabetes, maka upaya yang dapat dilakukan melalui bercocok tanam dengan hidroponik meskipun memiliki pekarangan yang sempit. Tujuan kegiatan adalah agar kader Posbindu di RW 05 Kelurahan Gandul dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap dan ketrampilan, meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan barang bekas sebagai upaya mengurangi keberadaan sampah plastik  serta memberi pengetahuan peluang wirausaha baru dari hidroponik. Metode kegiatan adalah memberikan penyuluhan kesehatan dan pembekalan hidroponik sistem Wick, diskusi dan tanya jawab serta demonstrasi dan praktek mandiri dengan menggunakan barang bekas. Evaluasi kegiatan dengan melihat kehadiran dan antusiasme kader dalam diskusi dan praktek serta penilaian pretest dan postest. Hasil kegiatan adalah kehadiran peserta kader sebanyak 93,3%, peningkatan pengetahuan sekitar 80% dan peningkatan sikap positif kader menjadi 92,86% dari total peserta terhadap hidroponik, antusiasme kader yang tinggi lewat interaksi pada saat praktek budidaya hidroponik, serta membuat wadah tanaman dari barang bekas. Kesimpulan kegiatan adalah para kader RW 05 telah menerapkan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dengan bercocok tanam, sehingga pembekalan hidroponik dapat memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan budidaya sayuran dalam pot/wadah dari barang bekas dan dapat mendukung ketahanan pangan keluarga.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease originating from Wuhan, China, has spread throughout the world, including in Indonesia. Covid-19 patients were first detected in Depok, Cinere, West Java, and increased on June 20, 2020. There have been 45,029 positive cases of Covid-19 on June 2021. Gandul Cinere village is located bordered by South Jakarta. Jakarta has a relatively high number of Covid-19 positive patients. Many people lost their jobs during the pandemic, including in the Jakarta and surrounding areas. Anis Baswedan, the governor, expects the unemployment rate due to the Covid-19 Pandemic in the DKI Jakarta area will reach 10 percent in 2021. This shows that economic problems cannot be ruled out easily. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the economy of UMKM (Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah) to further strengthen Indonesia's economy, especially in the DKI Jakarta and surrounding areas. Red Ginger (Zingiber officinale var Rubrum) and lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) are easy to find in Indonesia. Palm Sugar Ginger Lemongrass (MI JAREN) instant drink is an excellent herbal product to be studied and marketed in the Gandul village community. This instant herbal drink-making training was provided online, along with how to package it. The activity results showed that society in Kampung KB Gandul has good knowledge, only still requires guidance for the marketing, especially online. It is hoped that this community service activity can improve the economy in Kampung KB Gandul while also keeping the people of Kampung KB Gandul to avoid COVID-19 infection.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients in Indonesia are ranked fourth in Asia and seventh in the world. In Depok, 15% of Depok residents suffer from DM. Low knowledge of the dangers and management of DM disease nutrition, as well as lack of early detection of DM disease, contributes to the severity and complications of the disease. This activity aims to reduce the prevalence and severity of DM in Gandul in a preventive way. The target audience in this activity is elderly women members of the Anggrek Bulan Gandul Posbindu and Posbindu Delima Senja, Gandul, Cinere. The implementation of this activity uses counseling and question and answer methods. Then monthly blood sugar detection is carried out monthly, and measurements of abdominal circumference and body weight to see symptoms of obesity. The enthusiasm of the participants was quite good seen from the presence of the participants who came. Early detection is done regularly per month and found 2 (2 of 34 mothers) elderly mothers of Posbindu Anggrek Bulan and 4 elderly mothers in Posbindu Delima Senja (4 out of 30 mothers), who have type 2 diabetes. Knowledge about DM was measured by questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire showed 3 people (10%) with good results, 4 people (13.3%) with sufficient results, and 23 people (76.67%) with poor results after counseling. This activity should be a routine monthly activity and measurement of understanding is carried out with a questionnaire after giving the material, as well as making a DM booklet for elderly DM patients so that they can re-read the material providedABSTRAK; Pasien Diabetes Mellitus (DM) di Indonesia menduduki peringkat keempat terbesar di Asia dan peringkat ketujuh di dunia. Di kota depok, sebanyak 15% penduduk kota Depok menderita DM. Pengetahuan yang rendah tentang bahaya dan tatalaksana nutrisi penyakit DM, serta kurangnya deteksi dini penyakit DM, memberikan kontribusi keparahan dan komplikasi penyakit. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengurangi tingkat prevalensi dan keparahan DM di Gandul dengan cara preventif. Khalayak sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah ibu-ibu lansia anggota posbindu Anggrek Bulan Gandul dan posbindu Delima Senja, Gandul, Cinere. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan dan tanya jawab. Kemudian diadakan deteksi gula darah secara berkala perbulan, dan pengukuran lingkar perut dan berat badan untuk melihat gejala obesitas. Antusiasme dari para peserta cukup baik dilihat dari kehadiran peserta yang datang. Deteksi dini dilakukan secara berkala per bulan dan didapatkan 2 (2 dari 34 ibu-ibu) ibu-ibu lansia Posbindu Anggrek Bulan  dan 4 ibu-ibu lansa di Posbindu Delima Senja (4 dari 30 ibu-ibu), telah mengidap DM tipe 2. Pengetahuan tentang DM diukur dengan kuesioner. Hasil kuesioner memperlihatkan 3 orang (10%) dengan hasil yang baik, 4 orang (13,3%) dengan hasil cukup, dan 23 orang (76,67%)  dengan hasil buruk setelah penyuluhan. Kegiatan ini sebaiknya menjadi kegiatan rutin bulanan dan diadakan pengukuran pemahaman dengan kuesioner setelah pemberian materi, serta pembuatan booklet DM untuk para pasien DM lansia, agar dapat membaca kembali materi yang diberikan.

Abstract

Candida albicans and Malassezia furfur are types of fungi that often cause infections in humans. Widespread fungal infections and lack of therapeutic options can develop fungal resistance and become serious problems in the future. Actinomycetes are Gram-positive bacteria that can produce secondary metabolites such as antifungal, antibacterial, and anticancer. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the metabolite filtrate Actinomycetes as an antifungal agent against the in vitro growth of  C.albicans and  M. furfur. This type of research is a laboratory experimental study with a post-test group design only using metabolite concentrations Actinomycetes of 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, antifungal testing is done using the agar diffusion method on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar Media. Of the four concentrations, the average diameter of the clear zone for C.albicans  is  11.65mm; 12.48mm; 13.63mm and 13.80mm and for M.furfur is  6,025mm; 8,05mm; 9,1mm  and  9,9mm. There was a significant difference between each treatment group with a p-value of < 0.05. The compound Metabolite filtrate  Actinomycetes derived from  Actinomycetes can potentially be antifungal with one of its mechanisms binding to ergosterol in the cell wall that will interfere with the integrity of the fungal cell wall.

Dampak tekanan sosial dan ekonomi akibat pandemi Covid-19 memicu hal positif. Salah satunya motivasi untuk bertahan (coping strategy) secara ekonomi berupa efisiensi atau sumber pendapatan baru. Wujudnya berupa tumbuhnya usaha kecil yang terutama digerakkan kaum perempuan. Berdasarkan analisis situasi ditemukan adanya usaha rintisan atau UKM yang berbasis pengolahan pangan lokal di RW 05 Kampung KB Kelurahan Gandul, Kecamatan Cinere, Depok, Jawa Barat. Namun keterbatasan pengetahuan menjadikan usaha rintisan ini belum berkembang padahal potensial. Sehubungan dengan hal ini, dibutuhkan program peningkatan keterampilan dalam hal pengemasan dan pelabelan produk pangan sehingga memiliki nilai jual yang lebih baik. Adapun tahapan pelaksanaan program meliputi pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan muatan materi pengemasan pangan, pelabelan pangan serta materi penunjang lainnya seperti aspek kesehatan dan keamanan pangan olahan. Kegiatan telah berdampak positif bagi masyarakat sasaran yaitu tampilan produk menjadi lebih menarik dan lebih tahan lama sekaligus memperhatikan peraturan pelabelan pangan dan aspek keamanan pangan. Melalui pengetahuan dan implementasi pengemasan yang menarik dan pelabelan sesuai ketentuan serta memperhatikan aspek keamanan pangan mendorong UKM yang dirintis ini mulai menjual di toko-toko daring yang sudah ada. But on the other side has triggered positive things. One of them is a coping strategy by earning income from new small businesses. It helped the economic condition of the affected people. Initiated by women, small businesses for local food processing were growing. Based on the situation analysis, there were many new small businesses started. For instance, some new businesses or SME based on local food processing which is located at RW 05 Kampung KB, Gandul Cinere Village, Depok, West Java. However, limited knowledge makes this startup business not yet developed, even though it has potential. Therefore, an additional skill improvement program is needed such as packaging and labeling of food products so that they have a better selling value. The stages of program implementation include training and assistance for food packaging, food labeling, and other supporting issues such as health and safety aspects of processed food. The activity has had a positive impact on the targeted community, namely the appearance of the product becomes more attractive and more durable while paying attention to food labeling regulations and food safety aspects. Through knowledge and implementation of attractive packaging and labeling according to regulations and paying attention to food safety aspects, this SME started selling in existing online shops.
