Abstract

Chilli (Capsicum annum L.) is a horticulture comodities that high demand because it has a high economic value. The demand of Chilli increase every year as the population grows and the industry grows which requires Chilli as raw materials. The productivity of red chili in Jember Regency is also low, which is only 87.68 quintals hectare-1. Fluctuations in red chili production that occurred in the Jember area were caused by several things including an unsupportive environment such as declining soil fertility, high pest attacks, and excessive use of pesticides. Therefore there is a need for agricultural development in order to be able to meet food needs and increase export opportunities to neighboring countries. The parameters observed in this study were secondary data from the soil unit map. The secondary data referred to are soil drainage, soil depth in cm, slope related to erosion, altitude, standing water, soil cation exchange capacity, and soil pH. The improvement efforts made to improve the land suitability class is by setting the spacing, giving organic matter, agricultural lime, P fertilization, cutting and filling the land with a mound terrace system or bench terrace to reduce soil erosion.

Abstract

The demand for herbal plants has increased significantlyin the last few years, especially during the covid 19pandemic. People believe that herbal products have savorsto maintain body immunity. The purpose of this study wasto analyze internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) andexternal factors (opportunities and threats), formulatepolicies, and identify priority strategies that can be appliedby farmers in developing herbal farming. This researchhad conducted in Pace Village, Silo District, JemberRegency, from August to November 2021. The analysisused internal and external factors analysis, SWOT matrix,and QSPM analysis to determine priority strategies. Theinternal and external factor analysis showed that herbalplant farming was in Region V with defend and maintainposition. Based on the SWOT matrix, eight strategies hadearned to develop a herbal business. Based on the QSPManalysis, the key strategy was to increase farmers'knowledge regarding the prospects and marketing ofherbal plants, with a total value of 8.365

Abstract

Desa Suren yang terletak di Kecamatan Ledokombo merupakan salah satu penghasil komoditas padi di Kabupaten Jember. Petani di wilayah ini mengusahakan tanaman padi sebagai komoditas utamanya dan ditanam pada lahan seluas 28 hektar setiap tahun dengan 2 kali musim tanam. Dalam melakukan budidaya padi petani menghadapi beberapa kendala diantaranya langka dan mahalnya harga pupuk dan pestisida kimia, serangan hama penyakit tanaman padi, penurunan produksi, serta risiko kegagalan panen. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut tim pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian memberikan pelatihan teknologi budidaya padi ramah lingkungan dengan pembuatan pupuk hayati Trichoderma sp., pestisida hayati Beauveria bassiana, penanaman bunga refugia, serta pendampingan implementasi teknologi tersebut melalui lahan demplot. Teknologi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi bagi permasalahan yang dihadapi petani. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 petani yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Tani Suren Jaya 01. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, serta minat petani dalam melakukan budidaya padi yang ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to determine the growth and yield of melon plants in drip irrigation systems in conventional and hydroponic cultivation techniques. Method: The research was carried out in July – September 2022, on the Smart GreenHouse area of ​​the Jember State Polytechnic with an altitude of ± 89 meters above sea level and an air temperature of 22 – 32 °C. Parameters observed were plant height (cm), plant diameter (cm), number of leaves (strands), fruit weight per sample (kg), fruit brix content per sample (0brix), fruit diameter per sample (cm). Result: Based on the results the t-test recapitulation of the use of drip irrigation systems in conventional and hydroponic melon cultivation gave a significant effect on the observation of plant height at 2 – 6 WAP, plant diameter at 2 WAP and 3 WAP, number of leaves at 2 – 6 WAP, as well as giving effect on yield parameters, namely fruit weight, fruit brix content, and melon fruit diameter. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that the use of drip irrigation systems in conventional and hydroponic melon cultivation has a significant effect on all plant parameters. However, it did not affect the parameters of plant diameter at the age of 4 - 6 WAP. The use of this drip irrigation system is well applied to the cultivation of melon plants with substrate hydroponic cultivation techniques using coco peat growing media.

Abstract

Plalangan Village in Kalisat District is one of the agricultural villages with food crop centers targeted by The Jember Regency Government to become a tourism pilot area. Plalangan Village has natural resource potential that can be used as a tourism product, including expanses of agricultural land for food crops with semi-organic and intercropping cultivation systems, fisheries nurseries and cultivation, and a beautiful mountainous natural environment. Even though the tourism potential is very large, it has not been developed optimally by the community. So far, Pokdarwis Selayang Pandang still has a minimal role in developing tourism in Plalangan Village. This is because the human resource capacity is still low in managing tourist villages. Another problem is that there have been no promotional activities for tourist villages. The aim of this community service activity is to increase Pokdarwis' awareness of tourism potential and increase their ability to promote tourism villages. From this activities, it is hoped that there will be an increase in tourism awareness and motivation, an increase in the ability of human resources in managing village tourism potential, and the existence of promotional media for tourism villages. Abstract

Desa Kamal terletak di Kecamatan Arjasa dengan luas wilayah 3.092,34 km2 yang dikenal sebagai salah satu desa di Kabupaten Jember yang masih mengandalkan sektor pertanian sebagai basis dan penggerak roda perekonomian. Sekitar 60% dari total penduduk di Desa Kamal bekerja sebagai petani atau buruh tani dengan pendidikan rata-rata mulai dari SD, SMP hingga SMA. Gabungan Kelompok Tani (Gapoktan) Kupang Jaya merupakan salah satu kelompok tani di Dusun Kopang RT 03 RW 07 Desa Kamal yang bergerak di sektor pertanian. Selama ini, petani di daerah ini menggantungkan penghidupan mereka pada usaha tani padi dan cabai. Gapoktan Kupang Jaya menemui beberapa kendala atau permasalahan dalam melakukan usaha taninya, meliputi banyaknya hama wereng yang menyerang pada lahan budidaya petani, serta belum adanya bahan efektif dan ekonomis yang dapat membantu petani untuk mengendalikan hama wereng. Beberapa solusi yang ditawarkan untuk menghadapi permasalahan tersebut meliputi sosialisasi dan edukasi manfaat dan prospek pestisida nabati sebagai aternatif pengganti pestisida kimia, pelatihan pembuatan pestisida nabati dengan bahan baku daun sirsak serta pembuatan ZPT alami yang berbahan dasar bawang merah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan partisipatif yang artinya petani ikut terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat adalah sosialisasi dan diskusi, pelatihan keterampilan (demonstrasi cara pembuatan), dan evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

Pace Village, Silo District is a center for herbal plant production with several main herbal commodities such as Ginger, Curcuma, Citronella, and Javanese chili. The community still does not know the potential of the village as an herbal center because the promotional activities are not yet intensive. This community service activity aims to improve partners' skills in carrying out promotional activities. This community service activity method is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach with several activities including the coordination with partners, the counseling and promotion skills training, the mentoring, and the evaluation. In this community service activity partners are assisted in making promotional media, assisting exhibition activities, launching herbal product outlets, and creating a website. The results of the activity show that partners' understanding of promotional activities has increased, and promotional activities have had a significant impact on increasing partners' income in selling various herbal products.

Abstract

Padi masih menjadi komoditas utama yang dibudidayakan oleh petani yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Tani Jaya Abadi di Desa Lembengan, Kecamatan Ledokombo, Kabupaten Jember. Selama beberapa tahun terakhir petani mengeluhkan turunnya produksi padi akibat serangan OPT. Dalam menanggulangi serangan OPT selama ini petani masih menggunakan pestisida kimia secara berlebihan, sehingga memberikan dampak yang buruk bagi lingkungan. Sebagai solusi dari permasalahan tersebut, tim pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian memberikan sosialisasi pemanfaatan agensia hayati Trichoderma sp., pelatihan perbanyakan agensia hayati, serta aplikasinya pada lahan budidaya padi. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah metode pemberdayaan masyarakat partisipatif yang melibatkan mitra secara aktif dalam seluruh rangkaian kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan yang diberikan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam menggunakan agensia hayati Trichoderma sp. dalam budidaya padi. Pemanfaatan agensia hayati ini diharapkan mampu menekan serangan OPT dan meningkatkan produksi padi. Kata kunci: Agensia Hayati, OPT, Padi, Trichoderma

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji investasi dan mengklasifikasi populasi Arthropoda pada lahan budidaya cabai merah (konvensional) dan transisi organik yang berperan sebagai musuh alami hama cabai merah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan November 2018 sampai bulan Maret 2019, bertempat di lahan Dusun Gawok, Desa Dukuhdempok, Kecamatan Wuluhan, Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua petak lahan yaitu teknik konvensional (menggunakan pestisida kimia) dan transisi organik (menggunakan Beauveria bassiana, Refugia Area, Trichoderma spp). Peubah pengamatan pada penelitian ini adalah investasi dan klasifikasi populasi serangga pada masing-masing petak lahan percobaan. Keanekaragaman arthropoda dianalisis menggunakan indeks diversitas Shannon Weiner dan indeks Dominansi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai Indeks Diversitas arthopoda berdasarkan Indeks Shanon-Wiener (H’) pada petak lahan transisi organik lebih tinggi dibandingkan lahan petak konvensioanl yaitu masing-masong 1,623±0,142 dan 1,376±0,132. Untuk tingkat spesies dominansi (C) tergolong kategori sedang di kedua petak percobaan. Nilai di petak lahan konvensional lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan lahan petak transisi organik yaitu masing-masing 0,343±0,135 dan 0,322 ±0,123.Kata kunci: arthropoda, budidaya konvensional dan transisi organik, cabai merah, indeks diversitas, indeksdominan.
