Abstract

The solid bioslurry fertilizer (sludge) produced by the biogas digester has good quality, but is still less attractive to farmers because it is in bulk form. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out training regarding the granulation of sludge into granular organic fertilizer (POG). The long-term goal of this service is fertilizer independence at the farmer level, through the ability of farmers to process surrounding waste into more practical organic fertilizer. The specific target is that the public knows science and technology related to fertilizer granulation and has skills in granulating fertilizer. The methods used are: coordination of the lecturer team with the community regarding training activities, preparation of raw materials, namely sludge and compost made from sludge-coffee husk, socialization and discussion regarding fertilizer granulation science and technology, training in making POG, and evaluation of activities together with the community. Implementation of service begins with coordinating the lecturer team with the community regarding the implementation of activities, continues with the preparation of raw materials and tools with the assistance of residents and students, implementation of training with assistance from students by inviting pekon officials and the community, ending with an evaluation with the community to determine the sustainability of the program. The community is very interested in creating a village business with this organic fertilizer, which in the future can be managed by BUMDes. An obstacle during community service is the difficulty of gathering residents during the day due to various different activities.

Abstract

Coal Bottom Ash (CBA) merupakan limbah dasar hasil pembakaran batubara pada Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap. CBA mengandung silika dan alumina yang dapat digunakan sebagai adsorben untuk dehidrasi etanol. CBA terlebih dahulu dihaluskan hingga ukuran 200 mesh. Kemudian ditambahkan perekat berupa tepung terigu dan dibentuk menjadi pelet. CBA kemudian dikalsinasi dengan suhu 500° C selama 2 jam. Adsorben pelet yang terbentuk dikarakterisasi menggunakan XRF, XRD, FTIR, BET dan SEM. Hasil analisis XRF menunjukkan adsorben pelet didominasi alumina (28,156%) dan silika (53,978%), hasil analisis XRD menunjukkan bahwa adsorben pelet didominasi oleh kristal quartz dan albite, hasil analisis BET menunjukkan adsorben mempunyai luas permukaan sebesar 2,8419 m2/g. Proses adsorpsi dilakukan secara kontinyu dalam kolom adsorpsi berdiameter 3 cm yang berisi adsorben pelet dengan tinggi 10 cm dan dilakukan variasi laju alir umpan sebesar 6, 10 dan 14 ml/menit dengan konsentrasi umpan larutan etanol sebesar  91,805%. Kapasitas dan kinetika adsorpsi dihitung menggunakan tiga persamaan model kinetika adsorpsi yaitu model kinetika adsorpsi Adam-Bohart, Yoon-Nelson dan Thomas. Didapatkan nilai R2 tertinggi pada model persamaan Adam Bohart pada laju alir 10 ml/menit yakni dengan nilai R2 sebesar 0,981 dengan konsentrasi tertinggi dicapai pada konsentrasi 98,813%.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesis of sorghum starch–PVA/gelatin bioplastics reinforced with sorghum stem cellulose nanofibers through blend ratio tailoring in order to obtain bioplastics with properties comparable to LDPE. The mass ratios of sorghum starch to PVA/gelatin are varied at 9:1 and 8:2 (g/g), with a composition of 70% sorghum starch and 30% PVA. The nanofiber filler variations are 0 g, 0.1 g, and 0.2 g. Both starch and gelatin are sieved to 200 mesh. In the bioplastic fabrication process, glycerol concentration is set at 10% (w/w), with a stirring time of 35 minutes, gelatinization temperature of 95 °C, and stirring speed of 375 rpm. The analyses include tensile strength testing, elongation testing, functional group analysis using FTIR, morphological observation with SEM and TEM, and structural characterization with XRD. The best performance is achieved at a sorghum starch-PVA:gelatin mass ratio of 8:2 (g/g) with 0.2 g of nanofiber filler. The resulting bioplastic exhibits a tensile strength of 13.91 MPa, elongation of 3.00%, Young’s modulus of 4.63 MPa, water absorption of 1.8%, and density of 0.52 g/ml.

Abstract

The group of UMKM Swakarya, located in Desa Rulung Sari, Lampung Selatan is a home industry that produce variety of processed chips. This Swakarsa group is one of the UMKM that was initiated in 2020. At that time, the sluggish economy occurred, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, so the idea arose to sell processed products, namely banana chips and cassava chips. The problem with this partner of Swakarya UMKM is that the chip product turns out to be not hard like chips in general because the product does not drain the oil perfectly with a drainer, so the product cannot be stored longer. The Unila team provides solutions by using appropriate technology tools in order to drain the oil. In the manufacture of this chip product, after being fried, a spinner is used to drain the oil so that the chip product has a little oil content and is ready to be packaged and marketed. By providing this spinner, a tool for draining oil, it is expected that it will increase the production capacity of chips and the quality of chips produced by the partner for the better.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa serta guru SMP Xaverius 1 Bandar Lampung dalam memanfaatkan eco enzyme untuk membuat eco carbol, cairan pembersih lantai alami yang ramah lingkungan. Program ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya penggunaan bahan kimia sintetis pada produk pembersih konvensional yang berisiko terhadap kesehatan dan lingkungan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan pada 22 Agustus 2025 dengan metode partisipatif-edukatif, melibatkan 20 siswa, 4 guru, dan 3 anggota Komunitas Eco Enzyme Sai Bumi Lampung. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari tiga tahap: (1) penyuluhan mengenai dampak bahan kimia dan manfaat eco enzyme, (2) praktik formulasi eco carbol, dan (3) evaluasi serta pendampingan keberlanjutan. Produk yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik fisik baik, yaitu cairan homogen berwarna coklat keemasan, beraroma segar, tidak menyebabkan iritasi kulit, dan efektif menghilangkan kotoran serta bau. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi enzim alami, surfaktan dari getah pinus, dan minyak esensial pinus memberikan efek pembersih dan antimikroba yang optimal. Program ini diharapkan dapat diintegrasikan secara berkelanjutan untuk menumbuhkan perilaku hidup bersih dan ramah lingkungan. Kata kunci: Eco Carbol, Eco Enzyme, Pembersih Lantai Alami, anti mikroba, Ramah Lingkungan.
