Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on the cooperation skills and learning outcomes of sixth-grade students of Muhammadiyah Bangkalan Elementary School. This study is a quasi-experimental quantitative study with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. The research location was carried out at Muhammadiyah Bangkalan Elementary School, with the research subjects being sixth-grade students divided into two groups, namely the experimental class that implemented the TGT model and the control class that followed conventional learning. Data collection techniques used learning outcome tests and observations of cooperation skills. Data analysis techniques used were the independent t-test and paired sample t-test to test the differences in results between the experimental and control groups and before and after treatment in the experimental group. The results showed that the TGT cooperative learning model had a significant effect on improving students' learning outcomes and cooperation skills in science learning. The results of the t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which indicated a significant difference between the control and experimental groups and before and after treatment in the experimental group. Abstract

Low mathematical conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability remain significant challenges in statistics learning at SMP Negeri 4 Waibakul. Teacher-centered instruction and the limited availability of contextual teaching materials and digital learning resources have reduced students’ engagement in the learning process. This study aimed to develop a Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)-based e-module that is feasible, practical, and effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding and mathematical problem-solving skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants consisted of 39 seventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The findings revealed that the developed e-module met the criteria of being highly feasible and highly practical. The effectiveness of the e-module was indicated by N-Gain scores of 0.77 for conceptual understanding and 0.80 for problem-solving ability, both categorized as high. In addition, there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. These findings demonstrate that the RME-based e-module effectively supports contextual mathematics learning, particularly in improving students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills simultaneously.

Abstract

This research is conducted to improve oral communication skills of elementary school pre-service teachers through the application of small group discussion methods based on peer assessment. This research is a classroom action research. Data collection techniques used are peer assessment and observation. Pre-action conditions show the percentage of students who meet the criteria for skilled oral communication by 22.5%, after the first cycle of action the percentage of students increases to 52.2% and returns to increase in the action of cycle II with a percentage of 75%. Based on the results of these studies, it is known that the application of the peer group based small group discussion method can improve the oral communication skills of elementary school pre-service teachers.
