Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of feeding with the addition of Daphnia magna on the color brightness of nursery koi (Cyprinus carpio var.) at Kita Koi Farm, Lombok. This study was a quasi-experimental study using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The experiment was conducted to determine the effect of feeding with the addition of Daphnia magna on the color brightness of nursery koi (Cyprinus carpio var.) at Kita Koi Farm, Lombok. The results showed that the feeding process for nursery koi was carried out in stages according to the age and digestive capacity of the fry. In the initial nursery phase, artificial feed in the form of fine flour was used as the main feed, then combined with natural Daphnia magna as a supplementary feed. Daphnia magna was fed routinely once or twice daily to increase the feeding response and activity of the fry, and to support optimal nutrient utilization. The addition of Daphnia magna as supplementary feed had a positive effect on the color brightness of the koi fry. Fry fed Daphnia magna exhibited brighter, cleaner, and more even body color compared to fry fed only artificial feed. This is thought to be related to the natural pigments (carotenoids) in Daphnia magna, which play a crucial role in the fish's color pigmentation process.

Abstract

This research is important to understand and study the nursery techniques of black molly fish (Poecilia sphenops) with the supplemental feeding of silkworms at the Lingsar Fish Seed Center Installation. This research is a quasi-experimental study using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The experiment or trial conducted was the provision of silkworms as natural food to increase the growth of black molly fish. The results of the observations indicate that the nursery technique of black molly fish (Poecilia sphenops) with the supplemental feeding of silkworms includes: Aquarium or Nursery Container Preparation, Seed Distribution, Feed Management, Growth Observation, and Water Quality Management. Feeding with additional silkworms can increase weight from 0.34 grams to 1.58 grams, and length from 1.62 centimeters to 3.90 centimeters. Survival Rate (SR) of black molly fish raised at the Lingsar Fish Seed Center (BBI Lingsar) achieved a SR of 70%. This value was obtained from an initial total of 20 fish and a total of 14 fish at the end of the maintenance period. Water quality during observations with temperatures ranging between 24 °C - 27 °C and pH ranging between 7.0 - 8.0

Abstract

This study aims to determine the identification technique of E. coli bacteria in tuna (Thunnus sp.) meat at the Mataram Quarantine, Quality Control and Fishery Product Safety Center (BKIPM). This research method includes laboratory research using participatory methods. Active participation is involvement in an activity carried out directly in the field (Nazir, 2011). Where this method the author follows the activities at BKIPM by observing and interviewing employees and staff, especially BKIPM laboratory technicians who are in charge of E. coli bacteria identification techniques in tuna meat. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the identification of E. coli bacteria in tuna meat carried out at BKIPM starts from sterilization of equipment, sample preparation, presumptive tests using LTB and EC_Broth media, confirmatory tests using L-EMB and PCA media, as well as biochemical tests including indole tests, MR/VP tests, and citrate tests. Based on laboratory test results at the BKIPM (Indonesian Food and Fisheries Agency), samples of baby tuna and filed tuna were declared negative for E. coli, making them safe for consumption.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of water quality control to prevent disease in koi at Koikita Lombok Farm. The study was conducted from October 13 to November 20, 2025, at Koikita Lombok Farm. This quasi-experimental study used observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The experiment focused on water quality control to prevent disease in koi at Koikita Lombok Farm. Parameters measured included temperature, pH, and DO. Water quality control to prevent koi disease includes pond cleaning, filtration, installation of filters at the inlet, and control of temperature, pH, and DO. These measures have been shown to help prevent diseases such as Lernaeasis and goiter in koi fry. Koikita Lombok Farm has implemented several basic biosecurity measures, although they have not yet conducted comprehensive water parameter measurements due to limited equipment. Overall, water quality control has increased koi survival by 92%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the parking capacity and requirements for Karang Sukun Market in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara. It is a survey-based study employing a quantitative descriptive approach, conducted at the market from March 5 to March 12, 2025. The results indicate that parking volume and accumulation values fluctuated across the observed time periods and days. However, peak values generally occurred during the market's operational hours of 08:00–12:00 WITA, with a subsequent decline between 13:00 and 17:00 WITA. Parking capacity was sufficient on Tuesdays (both morning and afternoon) and Thursday afternoons (13:00–17:00), but proved inadequate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Fridays saw the highest visitor density, with a total of 668 vehicles parking. On average, the parking capacity at Karang Sukun Market was insufficient to meet demand; the facility accommodates 133 vehicles, whereas the average number of parked vehicles was 194. Due to this lack of adequate parking space, motorists resorted to parking along the streets surrounding the market, causing traffic congestion during peak hours.

Abstract

Giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) is one of the most economically important freshwater fish species widely cultured in Indonesia. The success of giant gourami culture is strongly influenced by water quality, particularly dissolved oxygen availability, which can be improved through aeration. This study aimed to analyze the effect of aeration intensity on the growth and feed utilization efficiency of giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) juveniles. The research was conducted from March to April 2026 at the Wet Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries, Universitas 45 Mataram. An experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used, consisting of four treatments and three replications. The treatments included P0 (without aeration), P1 (one air stone), P2 (two air stones), and P3 (three air stones). The results showed that the highest absolute weight growth was obtained in treatment P3, reaching 0.80 g/day, while the lowest was observed in P0 at 0.65 g/day. The highest absolute length growth was also recorded in P3 at 0.23 cm/day, whereas the lowest was found in P0 at 0.14 cm/day. The best FCR value was obtained in treatment P1 with a value of 1.98, while the highest feed utilization efficiency (FUE) was also observed in P1 at 50.42%. ANOVA results indicated that different aeration intensities did not significantly affect (Sig. >0.05) either weight growth or length growth of giant gourami juveniles. Treatment P3 resulted in the best growth performance, while treatment P1 provided the most efficient feed utilization.
