Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using arts and culture learning manual package books in class VII.1 SMPN 7 Padang. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method because the author did not carry out processing or testing, but the author tried to explore, understand, explain how the arts and culture package book was used at SMPN 7 Padang. Interview questionnaire research instrument for teachers and students. The results of the research on the effect of using a manual package for learning arts and culture in class VII.1 SMPN 7 Padang are that it has an influence on learning arts and culture.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of band learning in class XI of SMK Negeri 7 Padang. This type of research is a quantitative research with a descriptive analysis method. The research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments in the form of documentation and diary. Data was collected through literature studies, observations, interviews, and documentation. The steps of analyzing the data are data reduction and conclusions/withdrawal/verification. The results of the study show that the band learning process in Class XI Music SMK Negeri 7 Padang consists of planning, implementation and evaluation. Planning using lesson plans that are in accordance with the curriculum used by schools. The implementation refers to the RPP by showing videos about several songs from the rock music genre. The evaluation was carried out after the teacher's performance (exam) gave group and individual scores, but the performance was not satisfactory because the teacher did not fully accompany during the exercise. Based on the results of research that has been conducted as many as 4 meetings that band learning in class XI music SMK N 7 Padang does not run smoothly due to the lack of seriousness of students in learning, this can be seen from students only relying on lesson time as their learning and practice time, and there is a difference between lesson plans and learning in the classroom, and there are also other factors such as the limitation of instruments and music studios for students to practice with groups.

Abstract

This article reviews and analyses how methods, weaknesses, problems, solutions, and learning outcomes achieved in classical guitar learning at formal and non-formal educational institutions in West Sumatra as intercultural activities. Review and analysis refers to the principles, concepts, and methods of learning music, especially Western classical guitar, referred to throughout the world, namely the concept of Western music and the Yamaha Music Education System. The discussion in this article originates from the results of the first stage of the two planned research stages on the method of learning guitar instruments in formal and informal institutions in West Sumatra. The research method is qualitative and experimental. The first phase of the research is directed at finding, analyzing, and concluding methods of learning the practice of guitar instruments, their weaknesses, problems, and solutions to formal and informal institutions in West Sumatra. The second stage of the research is directed at finding and formulating weaknesses and shortcomings of guitar learning methods, then finding the need for guitar learning through analysis and assessment of guitar learning needs and then creating guitar learning methods based on 'sign' and 'interpretation' in the context of 'musicianship' and achievement of the learning objectives of the Major Guitar Instrument Practice course in the Music Education Study Program at the Faculty of Language and Art, Universitas Negeri Padang.  Artikel ini mengkaji dan menganalisis bagaimana metode, kelemahan, permasalahan, solusi, dan capaian pembelajaran yang dicapai dalam pembelajaran gitar klasik di lembaga pendidikan formal dan nonformal di Sumatera Barat sebagai kegiatan antarbudaya. Kajian dan analisis mengacu pada prinsip, konsep, dan metode pembelajaran musik, khususnya gitar klasik Barat, yang dirujuk di seluruh dunia, yaitu konsep musik Barat dan Sistem Pendidikan Musik Yamaha. Pembahasan dalam artikel ini bersumber dari hasil tahap pertama dari dua tahap penelitian yang direncanakan tentang metode pembelajaran alat musik gitar di lembaga formal dan informal di Sumatera Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan eksperimental. Tahap pertama penelitian diarahkan untuk menemukan, menganalisis, dan menyimpulkan metode pembelajaran praktik alat musik gitar, kelemahan, permasalahan, dan solusinya pada lembaga formal dan informal di Sumatera Barat. Tahap kedua penelitian, diarahkan untuk menemukan dan merumuskan kelemahan dan kekurangan metode pembelajaran gitar, kemudian menemukan kebutuhan pembelajaran gitar melalui analisis dan penilaian kebutuhan pembelajaran gitar dan kemudian membuat metode pembelajaran gitar berbasis ‘tanda’ dan ‘interpretasi’ dalam konteks ‘musicianship’ dan pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran mata kuliah Praktik Instrumen Gitar Utama pada Program Studi Pendidikan Musik di Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Padang.

Abstract

Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung merupakan tarian yang ditarikan muda-mudi dengan catatan tidak boleh satu marga, misalnya panortor bermarga Nasution dengan pangayapi bermarga  Nasution. Tetapi yang boleh adalah yang berlainan marga seperti panortor bermarga Nasution dan pangayapi bermarga Batubara. Selain tidak boleh satu marga juga tidak boleh bersentuhan antara laki-laki dan perempuan karena melanggar aturan adat. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni untuk mendeskripsikan serta menganalisis Makna Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung pada pesta perkawinan di Kotanopan Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis. Objek penelitian  adalah Tari Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung Pada Pesta Perkawinan di Kotanopan Kabupaten Mandailing Natal. Data yang dipergunakan penelitian ini yakni data primer serta sekunder. Instrumen utamanya adalah peneliti itu  sendiri, teknik pengumpulan data melalui tinjauan pustaka, observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan makna yang terkandung dalam Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung pada pesta perkawinan. Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung memiliki makna utama dan makna baru. Makna utama Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung terbagi lima yaitu sebagai sarana penerusan nilai dalam memperlihatkan tatanan adab, sebagai bentuk kebesaran hati yang mengadakan pesta, sebagai simbol tradisi dan warisan budaya, keramahan masyarakat, dan media komunikasi antara partisipan dalam perayaan pesta. Sedangkan makna baru dalam Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung terbagi empat yaitu simbol kebersamaan dan gotong royong, ekspresi kegembiraan, penyambutan tamu, dan adaptasi modern. Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung bukan sekedar tarian, tetapi juga sebagai sarana dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai budaya, kebersamaan, dan penghormatan dalam konteks perayaan perkawinan. Secara keseluruhan Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung tetap memainkan peran penting dalam pesta perkawinan di Kotanopan. Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung ia a dance danced by young people with the caveat that they are not allowed to be from the same clan, for example panortor from the Nasution clan and pangayapi from the Nasution clan. However, those who are allowed are those from different clans, such as the such as the panortor with the Nasution surname and the pangayapi with the Batubara surname. Apart from not being allowed to be in the same clan, men and women are also not allowed to have contact because it violates customary rules. The aim of this research is to describe and analyze the meaning of Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung at wedding parties in Kotanopan, Mandailing Natal Regensy. This type of research is qualitative research that uses analytical descriptive methods. The object of this research is to research is to interpret Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung dance at the wedding party in Kotanopan, Mandailing Natal Regensy. The data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. The main instrument is the researcher himself. Data collection methods through literature reviews, observation, interviews and documentation. The research result show the meaning contained in Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung at wedding parties. Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung has a main meaning and a new meaning. The main meaning of Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung is divided inti five, namely as a means of transmitting values in showing the order of manners, as a form of magnanimity in holding parties, as a symbol of tradition and cultural heritage, community friendliness, and a medium of commucation between particippants in party celebrations. Meanwhile, the new meaning in Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung is divided into four, namely a symbol of togetherness and mutual cooperation, expression of joy welcoming guests, and modern adaptation. Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung is not just a dance, but also a means for conveying cultural values, togerherness and respect in the context of wedding celebrations. Overall, Tor-Tor Naposo Nauli Bulung still plays an important role in wedding parties in Kotanopan.

Abstract

This study analyzes the guitar techniques and melody in Garoto's *"Tristezas de um Violão"* (Choro Triste No. 1), arranged by Paulo Bellinati. The focus is on identifying classical guitar techniques such as barre, arpeggio, and glissando, and exploring the uniqueness of the melody. Using a descriptive approach and literature study method, data were collected through observation, documentation, and processing of primary and secondary sources. The results reveal that Garoto applied innovative and expressive guitar techniques, emphasizing technical and aesthetic elements that enhance the choro genre. Techniques like smooth glissando and dynamic arpeggios reflect a distinct and emotional playing style. Additionally, the melody structure demonstrates Garoto's creativity in blending traditional and modern elements. In conclusion, this study provides a deep understanding of Garoto's playing style, its relevance to classical guitarists, and its contribution to the choro music genre. The interpretation of the techniques and melodies offers valuable insights for music enthusiasts and inspiration for further development of guitar techniques.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and find out the implementation of learning basic motion techniques in class X of SMA Negeri 9 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method of analysis. The research instruments are the researchers themselves and are assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, cameras and recorders. Data were collected through literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are data collection, identifying data, clarifying data and concluding data. The results of the study show that cultural arts learning in the school has not been effective due to the lack of appropriate use of learning media, especially in the context of dance art. The use of only videos as a learning medium and group discussion methods only provide a limited picture of the material being studied. It is important to increase students' enthusiasm and motivation by providing a clear understanding of what is being learned and the purpose of learning cultural arts. Although art is a creative field of study, learning also has specific goals, such as developing the potential of artists who can contribute to different levels of education, including from the secondary and elementary levels.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of foreign music learning in class XII science 2 at SMAN 13 Padang. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The instrument in this research was the researcher himself and was assisted with supporting instruments in the form of writing equipment and a camera. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The data in this research uses primary and secondary data. The steps to analyze data are collecting data, identifying data, classifying data, describing and concluding data. The research results show that the learning process is going well and the teacher uses the RPP as a reference in learning even though the teacher has not carried out all the activities in the RPP. Students are helped by the audiovisual media provided by the teacher. This is proven by the percentage of 100% of students getting a score above the KKM with the lowest score being 84.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe how the implementation of dance extracurricular arts at SMK Nusatama Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data were collected through literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps to analyze data are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the extracurricular activities of dance arts at SMK Nusatama Padang consist of planning and implementation. The planning of the dance extracurricular activity program at SMK Nusatama Padang has been well coordinated and appropriate according to the plan made by the coach starting from the schedule, time, in accordance with the purpose of the program. The implementation of dance extracurricular activities at SMPN 2 Kandis has gone well and the coach tries his best to make the students who participate in the activity practice well according to the schedule and place. Appreciation of coaches and coaches by displaying students' dance works is one of the motivations for students to continue practicing so that they are more confident in displaying the results of exercises that have been done well.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and describe the implementation of marching band extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 7 Padang. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The research instrument is the researcher himself and is assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data were collected through literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps of analyzing data are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the factors that affect students' interest in learning dance in dance extracurricular at Adabiah Padang High School consist of internal factors and external factors. Internal factors are students' attention to dance extracurricular materials is very good, students' attitudes towards dance extracurricular activities are good, students' ability to perform dance movements is not good and students' interest in dance extracurricular activities is good. Meanwhile, the external factors are that the dance extracurricular coordinator at Adabiah Padang High School is not good and the infrastructure at the school is relatively low.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran seni musik pada materi musik tradisional berbasis seruling bambu Kerinci di SMP 48 Satu Atap Kerinci. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pembelajaran dilakukan dalam empat pertemuan, dengan tujuan utama: (1) mengenalkan karakteristik musik tradisional Kerinci, khususnya seruling bambu; (2) mengidentifikasi struktur fisik serta teknik dasar memainkannya; (3) memainkan pola nada sederhana; dan (4) menciptakan serta menampilkan aransemen sederhana dalam format pertunjukan kelompok. Hasil pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan musikal, tetapi juga membangun apresiasi serta sikap positif terhadap kebudayaan lokal. Temuan penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa pembelajaran seni berbasis budaya lokal dapat menjadi sarana yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa sekaligus melestarikan warisan budaya daerah. Metode pembelajaran ini direkomendasikan untuk diadopsi secara lebih luas, dengan dukungan kebijakan pendidikan yang responsif terhadap kearifan lokal. The Implementation of the Discovery Learning Method in Music Learning at Atap Kerinci 48 Junior High School This study aims to describe the process of music education focused on traditional music using the Kerinci bamboo flute at SMP Negeri 48 Satu Atap Kerinci. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The learning process was carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The instruction was conducted over four sessions, with the main objectives being to: (1) introduce the characteristics of Kerinci traditional music, particularly the bamboo flute; (2) identify its physical structure and basic playing techniques; (3) play simple melodic patterns; and (4) create and perform simple arrangements in group performance formats. The results show that students not only gained conceptual understanding and musical skills but also developed appreciation and a positive attitude toward local culture. The findings indicate that culturally-based arts education can serve as an effective means to enhance student competencies while simultaneously preserving regional cultural heritage. This teaching method is recommended for broader adoption, supported by educational policies that are responsive to local wisdom. Keywords: Discovery Learning, Music Learning, Traditional Music.
