Abstract

The purpose of this study is to: 1) identify various types of direct and indirect benefits of mangrove forests, and 2) estimate the total economic value of the mangrove forest in Sarawet Village. This type of research is descriptive and quantitative using survey methods. Data analysis in this study uses descriptive and quantitative analysis. Descriptive analysis is used to explain the activities of utilizing natural resources of mangrove ecosystems, while quantitative analysis is used to calculate the total economic value of mangrove ecosystems. The selection of respondents used the purposive sampling method, with a total of 76 respondents. Analysis of the total economic value for the value of direct benefits using market prices, and the value of indirect benefits using replacement costs. The results showed that the people of Sarawet Village use the mangrove forest ecosystem directly in the form of mangrove wood used as firewood and fence stakes, leaves Nipah are made with roofs, and the community carries out fishing and crab activities around mangrove waters.Analysis of the total economic value of the mangrove forest in Sarawet Village amounted to Rp. 6.884.344.178,-/year. The total economic value is obtained from the value of direct benefits including utilization as firewood Rp. 4,160,000,- /year; fence pegs Rp. 87.500,-/year; roof of the house Rp. 330.000,-/year; fishing Rp. 769.174.000,-/year; crab fishing is Rp. 190.320.000,-/year, and the value of indirect benefits is as a barrier to abrasion and seawater waves Rp. 5.920.272.678,-/year. Abstract

The waters of Kalasey I Village have various resources and environmental services that are the potential to be utilized sustainably, such as tourism. The development activities in the tourism sector look so fast in this area with the establishment of several tourism infrastructures, such as diving centers, cottages, resorts,s and restaurants. These activities are thought to be able to affect the coral reef ecosystem. This study aims to determine the coral reef conditions, especially the reef flat, based on the percent cover of the live corals. Data collection was carried out at a depth of 3 meters with 3 replications using an Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) technique. Data obtained were analyzed using Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe) software. Based on the percent cover of live corals, the condition of coral reefs in the Kalasey 1 village waters was classified as poor with a coral cover percentage of 2.93%. Keywords: Tourism development, Underwater Photo Transect (UPT), percent cover, coral point count (CPCe) Abstrak Perairan di Desa Kalasey I memiliki berbagai sumberdaya serta jasa lingkungan yang berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan secara berkesinambungan seperti potensi pariwisata. Kegiatan pembangunan di sektor pariwisata terlihat begitu pesat di wilayah ini dengan berdirinya sejumlah infrastruktur pariwisata seperti diving center, cottage, resort dan rumah makan, dimana aktivitas tersebut diduga dapat mempengaruhi ekosistem terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang, khususnya rataan terumbu (reef flat), berdasarkan persentase tutupan karang di perairan Desa Kalasey I Kecamatan Mandolang Kabupaten Minahasa. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 3 meter dengan 3 ulangan, menggunakan teknik Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan software Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe). Diperoleh hasil kondisi terumbu karang tergolong dalam kategori miskin dengan persentase tutupan karang sebesar 2.93 %. Abstract

Spotcheek emperor L. rubrioperculatus lives in association with coral reefs, at a depth of 10-168 m. This species lives on sandy bottoms and along the outer reef slopes. The lemur fish L.rubriopercelatus is a protogynous hermaphrodite fish, there is a sex change from the female phase to the male phase. Research related to sea urchins in Likupang waters has never been carried out, even in general it is very limited in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the length-weight relationship and reproductive aspects of spotcheek emperor at Napo Nain Likupang waters. Length-weight relationships are growth patterns and condition factors. Reproductive aspects are the level of gonadal maturity, gonadal maturity index, and fecundity. Fish samples were caught using two types of hand lines, hook number 10 with monofilament line number 90 and hook number 12 with monofilament line number 100. Sampling was carried out three times in May, June, and July 2022. The total samples were 80 individuals. consisting of 44 male individuals with a fork length range of 14.7-22.7 cm, 42 female individuals with a fork length range of 13.0-24.0 cm, and 2 individuals of transitional elephant fish, respectively 19.5 and 20.0 cm. Male length-weight relationship W= 0.2332L2.1642 (R2=0.7881) negative allometric growth pattern. Females W = 0.0868L2.505 (R2=0.9575) negative allometric growth pattern. The condition factor for male fish is 1.03 ± 0.22 and 0.99 ± 0.12 for females. The gonadal maturity was found in May for both males and females. Gonad Maturity Index for males ranged from 0.03-0.18 and for females 0.02-1.49. Fecundity ranged from 21.035-3.9497 with an average of 31.530 ± 5.929. Abstrak Ikan lencam L. rubrioperculatus hidup berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang, pada kedalaman 10-168 m. Spesies ini hidup di dasar berpasir dan di sepanjang lereng terumbu bagian luar. Ikan lencam L.rubriopercelatus adalah ikan hermaprodit protogini, terjadi perubahan kelamin dari fase betina ke fase jantan. Penelitian berkaitan ikan lencam di perairan Likupang belum pernah dilakukan, bahkan secara umum di Indonesia sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan panjang-berat dan aspek reproduksi. Hubungan Panjang- berat meliputi pola pertumbuhan dan faktor kondisi di parairan Napo Nain Perairan Likupang. Aspek reproduksi meliputi tingkat kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad dan fekunditas. Sampel ikan ditangkap dengan menggunakan dua jenis pancing ulur (hand line) mata pancing nomor 10 dengan tali monofilament nomor 90 dan mata pancing nomor 12 dengan tali monofilament nomor 100. Sampling dilakukan tiga kali pada bulan Mei, Juni dan Juli 2022. Jumlah sampel 80 individu terdiri atas terdiri dari 44 individu jantan dengan kisaran panjang garpu 14,7-22,7 cm, 42 individu betina dengan kisaran panjang garpu 13,0-24,0 cm, 2 individu ikan lencam transisi kelamin masing 19,5 dan 20,0 cm. Hubungan panjang-berat jantan W= 0,2332L2,1642 (R2=0,7881)pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Betina W = 0,0868L2,505 (R2=0,9575) pola pertumbuhan alometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi jantan bernilai 1,03 ± 0,22 dan 0,99 ± 0,12 ikan betina. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan yang siap memijah (TKG IV) ditemukan pad bulan Mei baik jantan maupun betina. Indeks Kematangan Gonad jantan berkisar antara 0,03-0,18 dan betina 0,02-1,49. Fekunditas berkisar antara 21.035-3.9497 dengan rata-rata 31.530 ± 5.929. Abstract

Sapa Village, Tenga District, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province has a seagrass meadow ecosystem, but there is still a lack of information about the seagrass community in the waters of Sapa Village, which is the reason for researching the presence of seagrass in these waters. With the aim of knowing the types of seagrass, environmental conditions, species density, relative density, domination index, and species diversity index. Based on the results of observations at the location, it showed a temperature of 30OC, salinity of 30‰, pH 8, and sandy substrate and coral rubble. The results of the identification there are 4 types of seagrass namely Thalassia hemprichii, Syringodium isoetifolium, Cymodocea rotundata, and Halodule uninervis. The type with the highest number of individuals vizThalassia hemprichii with a total of 694 individuals, Halodule uninervis 557 individuals, Cymodocea rotundata358 individuals andSyringodium isoetifolium 324 individuals. Density index type (10,80 – 23,13 individuals/m2), relative density (16.76 - 35.90%) dominance index D = 0.32, and diversity H = 1.33. Dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis lamun, kondisi lingkungan, Kepadatan spesies, Kepadatan Relatif, Indeks Dominasi, dan  Indeks Keanekaragaman Spesies. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di lokasi menunjukan suhu 30oC, salinitas 30‰, pH 8 dan substrat berpasir serta pecahan karang. Hasil identifikasi terdapat 4 jenis lamun yaitu Thalassia hemprichii, Syringodium isoetifolium, Cymodocea rotundata, dan Halodule uninervis. Jenis dengan jumlah individu terbanyak yaitu Thalassia hemprichii dengan jumlah  694 individu, Halodule uninervis 557 individu, Cymodocea rotundata 358 individu dan Syringodium isoetifolium 324 individu. Indeks kepadatan jenis (10,80 – 23,13 individu/m2), kepadatan relatif (16,76 - 35,90%) indeks dominasi D=0,32 dan keanekaragaman H= 1,33. Kata kunci: lamun, desa sapa, struktur komunitas

Abstract

On the coast of Beton Panjang and Tasik Ria, there are tidal flats with white sand substrates and some seagrass beds (seagrass) and macroalgae. Until now, there is still limited research on macroalgae in Beton Panjang and Tasik Ria. However, studies on macroalgae, especially aspects of their anatomical characteristics, have not been carried out. Therefore, it is necessary to study the anatomical characteristics and structure of the community. Sampling was carried out at the lowest ebb with the help of an application (to find out the lowest ebb time). They are laying transects at each location for macroalgae data collection as many as 3 transect lines 50 m long drawn perpendicularly from the coast towards the sea with the assumption that the community is evenly distributed. The distance between transects is 30 m with a squared distance of 5 m. Each square is used for data collection measuring 1 x 1 m². Analysis of the density index and relative density in Beton Panjang coastal waters yielded a density value of 0.06 ind.m2 – 0,43 ind./m2. The lowest density value is in the speciesLaurencia papillosa and the highest is in speciesPadina australis With a total density of individuals per species of 0.43 ind./m2. In the coastal waters of Tasik Ria, the highest density index is for species Neomeris  annulled with a value of 0.63 ind./m2. The highest diversity index value is in the coastal waters of Tasik Ria with a value of H' = 2.33, while the highest dominance index is in the coastal waters of Beton Panjang with a dominance value of D = 0.16. The highest wealth and equity values ​​are in the coastal waters of Tasik Ria with a value of d = 2.27 and E = 0.94. Keywords: macroalgae, Beton Panjang, Tasik Ria, anatomical characteristics   Abstrak Di pesisir Beton Panjang dan Tasik Ria terdapat rataan pasang surut dengan substrat pasir putih dan beberapa hamparan lamun (seagrass) serta makroalga. Sampai saat ini, masih terbatas penelitian tentang makroalga di Beton Panjang dan Tasik Ria. Namun, kajian mengenai makroalga khususnya aspek karakteristik anatomi belum dilakukan. Oleh sebab itu, perlu dilakukan kajian karakteristik anatomi dan juga struktur komunitasnya.Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada saat surut terrendah dengan bantuan aplikasi Tides (untuk mengetahui waktu surut terrendah). Peletakan transek pada masing-masing lokasi untuk pengambilan data makroalga sebanyak 3 garis transek sepanjang 50 m yang ditarik tegak lurus dari pantai ke arah laut dengan asumsi bahwa penyebaran komunitas merata. Jarak antar transek yaitu 30 m dengan jarak kuadrat yaitu 5 m. Setiap kuadrat dipakai untuk pengambilan data berukuran 1 x 1 m². Analisi indeks kepadatan dan kepadatan relatif di perairan pesisir Beton Panjang di dapat nilai kepadatan 0,06 ind.m2 – 0,43 ind./m2. Nilai kepadatan terendah ada pada spesies Laurencia papillosa dan yang tertinggi ada pada spesies Padina australis Dengan jumlah kepadatan individu perjenis 0,43 ind./m2. Pada perairan pesisir Tasik Ria, indeks kepadatan tertinggi ada pada spesies Neomeris annulata dengan nilai 0,63 ind./m2 . Nilai indeks keanekaragaman tertinggi ada pada pada perairan pesisir Tasik Ria dengan nilai H’= 2,33, sedangkan untuk indeks dominasi tertinggi ada pada perairan pesisir Beton Panjang dengan nillai dominasi D=0,16. Untuk nilai kekayaan dan kemerataan tertinggi ada pada perairan pesisir Tasik Ria dengan nilai d= 2,27 dan E= 0,94. Katakunci: makroalga, Beton Panjang, Tasik Ria, karakteristik anatomi.

Abstract

Bunaken National Park is known for its beautiful underwater scenery, with potential for coral reefs and tourism activities, such as diving and snorkeling. The waters of Popareng village is located in the southern part of Bunaken National Park. This study aims to determine the coral reef components and conditions based on the percent coral cover in Popareng waters, Tatapaan district, South Minahasa regency. A descriptive method was used in this study. Data collection was conducted at the depth of 7 meters with 4 replications using an Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) method. Data were analysed using the Coral Point Count with Excel Extension (CPCe) application. Results revealed that the coral reef components included 24 biotic categories and 3 abiotic categories, with the lowest percent coral cover found in the Acropora Digitate (ACD) category at 0.03%. The coral reef conditions this area is moderate with percent cover of 33.92%. Abstrak Taman Nasional Bunaken dikenal dengan keindahan bawah lautnya, memiliki potensi terumbu karang, dan potensi parawisata dengan kegiatan utama yang dapat dilakukan adalah diving dan snorkeling (Handoyo dan Johanis, 2021). Perairan Desa Popareng merupakan bagian selatan dari Kawasan Taman Nasional Bunaken. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komponen bentik penyusun terumbu karang dan kondisi terumbu karang, berdasarkan persentase tutupan karang di perairan Desa Popareng Kecamatan Tatapaan Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan. Metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 7 meter dengan 4 ulangan, menggunakan metode Underwater Photo Transect (UPT). Data lapangan yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi Coral Point Count with excel extension (CPCe). Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan komponen bentik penyusun terumbu karang meliputi 24 kategori biotik dan 3 kategori abiotik, dan persentase tutupan tertinggi ditemukan kategori yaitu Rubble (R) sebesar 21,13%, sedangkan persentase tutupan terendah berada pada kategori Acropora Digitate (ACD) sebesar 0,03%. Diperoleh hasil kondisi terumbu karang tergolong dalam kategori cukup dengan persentase tutupan karang sebesar 33,92

Abstract

This study aims to determine the number of species, number of individuals, density, and community structure of the Chaetodontidae. The study was conducted in the waters of Poopoh Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, at Poopoh Cape, which is located within the conservation area of Bunaken National Park, South Zone, marine protected zone. Data collection was conducted at depths of 3 and 10 meters. At each depth, 2 transects were placed, each with a length of 25 meters, using the Underwater Visual Census (UVC) method with an observation area of 125 m². The results of the study showed that the Chaetodontidae fish was found, consisting of 4 genera, namely Chaetodon, Forcipiger, Heniochus, and Hemitaurichthys, with 18 species and 598 individuals. A higher number of species was found at 3 meters depth. One of the most frequently encountered species was Hemitaurichthy polylepis, with a density of 0.442 individuals per square meter. Based on the data analysis, the species diversity index (H') at 3 meters depth was classified as high, while at 10 meters depth, it was classified as low. This result is consistent with the evenness index (J'), which indicates that the 3-meter depth has a more stable community compared to the 10-meter depth. On the other hand, the dominance index (D) shows the opposite trend, with a higher species dominance level at a depth of 10 meters. Penelitian ini dilakukan di perairan Desa Poopoh, Kecamatan Tombariri, Kabupaten Minahasa, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara di Tanjung Poopoh, yang terletak di dalam kawasan konservasi Taman Nasional Bunaken, bagian Selatan, zona perlindungan bahari. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada kedalaman 3 dan 10 meter. Pada setiap kedalaman diletakkan 2 transek, masing-masing dengan panjang 25 m dengan menggunakan metode Underwater Visual Census (UVC) dengan luas pengamatan sebesar 125 m2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa famili ikan Chaetodontidae yang ditemukan di perairan Desa Poopoh, Kecamatan Tombariri, terdiri dari 4 (empat) genus, yaitu Chaetodon, Forcipiger, Heniochus, dan Hemitaurichthys dengan 18 spesies dan 598 individu. Jumlah spesies yang lebih tinggi ditemukan pada kedalaman 3 m. Salah satu spesies yang paling sering ditemukan adalah Hemitaurichthy polylepis, dengan kepadatan 0,442 individu per meter persegi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, indeks keanekaragaman spesies (H') pada kedalaman 3 m tergolong tinggi, sedangkan pada kedalaman 10 m tergolong rendah. Hasil ini konsisten dengan indeks keseimbangan (J'), yang menunjukkan bahwa kedalaman 3 m memiliki komunitas yang lebih stabil dibandingkan dengan kedalaman 10 m. Di sisi lain, indeks dominansi (D) menunjukkan kecenderungan yang berlawanan, dengan tingkat dominansi spesies yang lebih tinggi pada kedalaman 10 m. Abstract

The high use of coastal resources especially coral reefs by the people of Bahoi Village can affect the existing ecosystem. This research was conducted in July 2021 in Bahoi Village, West Likupang District, North Minahasa Regency designed to determine the value of direct benefits of the coral reefs ecosystem at the location. The data collected in this study were primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained by conducting interviews among the fishermen as respondents. The interview was conducted using the purposive sampling method by taking a sample of 30 respondents from fishermen's households in the community. As for secondary data, namely the ecological condition of coral reefs (coral cover), the general condition and population of Bahoi Village were based on YAPEKA 2015 data. The data collected were then tabulated and analyzed using the effect on production (EOP) model to determine the value of the direct benefits of coral reefs. The main livelihood of the people of Bahoi Village is fishermen, which is comprised of 107 people (60% of the total number of households in Bahoi Village. The results show that the community of Bahoi is very dependent on the coastal resources. Based on the result of the EOP analysis technique used the value of direct use benefits obtained from coral reef fisheries is Rp. 379,746,378,-/ha/year. Keywords: Direct benefits, ecosystem value, Coral reefs Abstrak Tingginya pemanfaatan pesisir khususnya terumbu karang oleh masyarakat Desa Bahoi dapat mempengaruhi sumber daya ekosistem yang ada. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2021 di Desa Bahoi, Kecamatan Likupang Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui nilai manfaat langsung ekosistem terumbu karang di lokasi tersebut. Sumber data yang dikumpulkan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer didapatkan dari hasil wawancara. Wawancara yang dilakukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan mengambil sampel responden sebanyak 30 orang. Sedangkan untuk data sekunder yaitu kondisi ekologi terumbu karang (tutupan karang) Desa Bahoi, Gambaran umum Desa Bahoi dan jumlah penduduk Desa Bahoi. Data yang dikumpulkan selanjutnya dibuat tabulasi dan dilakukan analisis untuk menentukan nilai manfaat langsung dari terumbu karang yang ada di Desa Bahoi. Mata pencaharian utama masyarakat Desa Bahoi adalah nelayan yaitu sebanyak 107 orang (60% dari total jumlah kepala keluarga Desa Bahoi). Dimana menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Desa Bahoi sangat bergantung pada hasil perairan di Desa Bahoi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan pendekatan EOP, diperoleh nilai manfaat langsung yang didapatkan dari pemanfaatan terumbu karang sebagai perikanan tangkap di Desa Bahoi yaitu sebesar  Rp. 379.746.378,-/ha/tahun. Abstract

This research aims to determine the condition of coastal water quality at Sam Ratulangi University's Marine Field Station by looking at the diversity of mollusks and the physical and chemical parameters of the waters as supporting parameters. The method used to determine the research location was the Quadratic Transect method, while to determine the sampling point the random sampling method was used, namely selecting sampling locations randomly based on areas with dominant activities. The mollusks taken are mollusks that are still alive and can be seen attached, both on the surface of the substrate and inside the substrate. Observations of the place and substrate where the individual attached/immersed themselves were carried out by measuring the water quality, where the temperature was 300C, salinity 28%0, and pH 8). The identification results obtained were 29 types. In the final step after the sample has been identified, all data obtained will be analyzed to obtain results from the research carried out. This research is expected to provide information about the condition of water pollution at Sam Ratulangi University's Marine Field Station in determining management policies and preserving the aquatic ecosystem. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kualitas perairan pesisir Marine Field Station Universitas Sam Ratulangi dengan melihat keanekaragaman moluska serta parameter fisika kimia perairan sebagai parameter pendukung.  Metode yang digunakan dalam menentukan lokasi penelitian adalah metode Transek Kuadrat, sedangkan untuk menentukan titik pengambilan sampel digunakan metode random sampling, yaitu pemilihan lokasi pengambilan sampel secara acak berdasarkan kawasan dengan kegiatan yang dominan. Moluska yang diambil adalah Moluska dalam keadaan masih hidup yang terlihat menempel, baik di permukaan substrat maupun di dalam subtrat. Pengamatan tentang tempat maupun substrat dimana individu tersebut menempel/membenamkan diri dilakukan pengukuran kualitas air, di mana suhu 300C, salinitas 28%0 dan pH 8). Hasil  indentifikasi diperoleh sebanyak 29 jenis. Langkah terakhir setelah sampel diidentifikasi, semua data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis untuk memperoleh hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini diharapkan sebagai informasi tentang kondisi pencemaran perairan Marine Field Station Universitas Sam Ratulangi dalam penentuan kebijakan pengelolaan serta menjaga kelestarian ekosistem perairan. Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relative abundance, species composition, relative abundance, and structure of fish communities. The data collection method used was the “Swept area” method. Sampling was conducted twice. The first sampling was conducted on June 17, 2023, and the second sampling was conducted on July 4, 2023, at the Tondano River estuary. Data collection was conducted at low tide. The data analysis used was relative abundance, diversity index, evenness index, and dominance index. The results of this study showed that the fish species composition in the Tondano River estuary consisted of 15 families, 15 genera, and 18 species with a total of 288 individuals. Between the two observed months, June and July, the number of species was higher in June. Based on the data analysis, the highest relative abundance in the Tondano River estuary was in the June phase, namely the Ambassis urotaenia species with a value of 31.5%. The diversity of fish species in the June and July phases was classified as quite high, considering the relatively high evenness index and low dominance index. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kelimpahan relatif, komposisi spesies ikan, kelimpahan relatif dan struktur komunitas ikan. Metode pengambilan data ikan menggunakan metode metode “Swept area”. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali. Pengambilan sampel pertama dilakukan pada bulan juni tanggal 17 juni 2023 dan pengambilan sampel kedua dilakukan pada bulan juli tanggal 4 juli 2023 yang berlokasi di Muara Sungai Tondano. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada waktu surut. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah kelimpahan relatif, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks kemerataan, dan indeks dominansi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan komposisi jenis ikan di Muara Sungai Tondano terdiri 15 famili, 15 genus dan 18 spesies dengan total 288 individu. Diantara kedua fase bulan yang diamati, yaitu bulan Juni dan bulan Juli, jumlah spesies lebih banyak ditemukan pada Juni. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data kelimpahan relatif tertinggi di Muara Sungai Tondano ada pada fase Juni yaitu spesies Ambassis urotaenia dengan nilai 31.5 %. Keanekaragaman jenis ikan pada fase bulan Juni dan Juli tergolong cukup tinggi dengan memperhatikan indeks kemerataan yang cukup tinggi dan indeks dominansi yang rendah.
