Abstract

The germination of freshwater fish has good future prospect in local andexport. One of freshwater that has a higher selling price and market demand ismuch enough in local or export is goldfish (Carracius auratus). This researchaims to get the comparison quantity of good parents for maximal spawning anddetermine the ratio of male parent and female parent of goldfish which differenton hatching and survival rate of larvae. This research method was used acompletely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The firsttreatment was the comparison between male parent and female parent 2 : 1, thesecond treatment was the comparison between male parent and female parent 3 : 1and the last treatment was the comparison between male parent and female parent4 : 1. This research was conducted in 2015 on July until August. The result of thisresearch showed that the comparison of parents quantity has significant effect onthe degree of fertilization and showed the highest hatching rates got from the lasttreatment (82. 87 %) in comparison of male parent and female parent 4 : 1 whichthe chances of sperm to fertilize an egg was greater so that the number of eggsthat hatch will also be greater and the highest survival rate of larvae and alsoobtained from the last treatment (81. 82%).Keyword: Hatching Rate, Survival Rate, Goldfish.

Abstract

Koi (Cyprinus carpio) is a type of fish that can be cultivated to serve asornamental fish. As ornamental fish, koi fish that have beautiful and bright colors canbe high value. Color is one of the reasons ornamental fish demand by the public, sofarmers need to retain the color of ornamental fish that is by giving feed containingpigments. The work done to obtain a uniform bright colors in fish is added to thepigment in the feed source. Source of natural pigments can be obtained from flour carrot(Daucus carota L.). The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of carrot flourthat can enhance the color of koi fish. This study used a completely randomized design(CRD) with three replications, with doses of 0%, 1%, 3%, and 5% for 30 days. Theaddition of carrot powder through the feed can improve the color of koi fish. Givingcarrot flour with a dose of 5% produces a brighter color than the other doses. CarrotsFlour Addition on the feed had no effect on the weight and length growth koi fish.Keywords: Fish Koi, Cyprinus carpio, Color Enhancement, Daucus carota L.

Abstract

This study was aimed to know antimicrobial potential of extract of sambiloto’s Leaf (Andrographis paniculata) to bacteria Aeromonas hydrophila, Edwardsiella tarda and Saprolegnia sp. and to know the extract toxicity to brine shrimp (Artemia salina). Sambiloto’s leaf was extracted using methanol, ethyl acetate and n-Hexane. Antimicrobial activity test was done using diffusion discs method. To know the compunds contained in the extract phytochemical test was conducted. The chemical compound test showed that extract of sambiloto’s leaf contained terpenoid/steroid and saponin. The extracts inhibit the growth of Aeromonas hydrophila and Edwardsiella tarda but Saprolegnia sp. Ethyl acetate extract showed to have maximum inhibition to Aeromonas hydrophila of 9,11 – 10,78 mm and Edwardsiella tarda of 6,10 – 9,50 mm respectivity. All extract showed to have LC50<1000 μg/ml. Toxicity of n-hexane extract was highest to Artemia salina with LC50 of 118,6 ppm.Keywords : Antimicrobial activity, Aeromonas hydrophila, Edwardsiella tarda Andrographis paniculata, Saprolegnia sp.

Abstract

Comet fish (Carassius auratus) is a kind of ornamental fish and very popular in the world. Comet fish has a distinctive feature that can be seen from the beautiful color, beutiful fins especially elongated tail fin, and makes the comet fish has a high selling value. The color should be upgraded and maintained its quality. Such efforts to increase color has be done by adding natural pigment resources into the feeds. Natural pigment resources can be obtained from Spirulina platensis, the Spirulina were give 1 %, 3 %, and 5 % for 30 days. The purpose of this research is to determine dosage of Spirulina platensis make it optimal to increase the color of Comet fish. This Research using Complete Random Design (CRD) with three treatment repetition and control. The results of 3% Spirulina was significant bright color, compared of 1% and 5% Spirulina were give. Abstract

One of the constraints in the effort coltivation koi fish is the level of survival rates low and the growth of fish relatively slow caused by the temperature is not stable, then koi fish become stress later died. This study was aimed to determine how big effect the temperature against the growth of the seeds of goldfish koi and to know the best temperature for the growth of the seeds of goldfish koi. The experimental design used is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment and three test. The artificial fish fed as much as twice a day during the study 09.00 and 18.00. turn of the water as much as 10 % of the volume total of water. An early stage before done maintenance is the process of the adaptability for 30 minutes. Fish maintained for 30 days and every 10 days done measurement was covering long total, heavy and survival rates of fish. Measures of the quality of the water is temperature, pH and DO. The seeds of koi fish that maintained at a temperature 270C growth long absolute necessity of 11,74 cm and growth of weight range 8,61 - 10,36 gr. The value of survival rate is 100%. Parameters supporters quality of water oftained from pH changed 7,08 – 7,15 and DO changed 5,22 -5,61 mg/l. The temperature is maintenance koi fish still in a state of optimally that at temperature 270C. The treatment is temperature showed a significant effect against the growth of long and weights of koi fish and range of temperature for live of koi fish betweer 26-31oC but the best temperature for the growth is 27oC.Keywords: Temperature, The seeds of goldfish Koi, Growth, The survival

Abstract

This research was aimed to know the antimicrobial potential of R. mucronata bark extract against S. iniae pathogenic bacteria, determine their toxicity to tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), as well as determine the effect of immersion bark extract R. mucronata stem against the survival of tilapia fish seeds infected S. iniae bacteria. Extraction is done by maceration single use methanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane. Tests conducted bacterium S. iniae characteristics and returns the bacterial virulence. Toxicity tested bark extract R.mucronata with a concentration of 0 ppm, 125 ppm, 250 ppm, 375 ppm and 500 ppm, the mortality rate of fish in maing each concentration is 0%, 20%, 56.67%, 86.67%, 100% and obtained LC50 at 195.39 ppm. The extract used to challenge test was R. mucronata bark extract with ethyl acetate solvent. Tilapia were used as much as 350 tails with size 1-2 cm aged 1-2 weeks and infected with the bacterium S. iniae density of 107 CFU / ml by immersion. The test results bark extract R.mucronata rod solvent ethyl acetate that concentration had ability as an antibacterial that was at a concentration of 19.54 ppm with results tilapia fish survival percentage was 100%. Immersion bark extract R.mucronata rods significant (P<0.05) on survival seeds tilapia infected bacteria S. iniae. Calculation of the number of colonies bacteria with methods TPC (Total Plate Count). Reduced the number of bacterial colonies after immersion of the average rate of 3.52 x 104 CFU / ml to 3.38 x102 CFU / ml.Keywords: Extraction, Streptococcus iniae, Rhizophora mucronata, Tilapia, Test toxicity

Abstract

One of Indonesian popular fish is bandeng (Chanos chanos). One of theproblem facing in bandeng culture is pests and diseases. The purpose of this study wasto observed potential gram-positive bacteria that infects Bandeng fish. The study wasconducted from February to April 2016 in the Laboratory SKIPM Class 1 Medan 1.Samples were taken from infected fish and ponds located in Tanjung Rejo Paluh PutriPercut Sei Tuan. Isolation and characterization of potential bacterial pathogens inBandeng fish was conducted using a scratch plate method. Two bacterial isolates werefound. Identification of the two isolated showed that the isolates were Staphylococcusaureus and Streptococcus iniae.Keywords : Chanos chanos, floating net cages, bacterial pathogens

Abstract

The development of the technology has driven the growth of industry, on the one side can increase economic growth, but on the other side can lead to destruction of the environment especially marine organisme that fish due to the negative impact of the waste it generates. The objective of the the research are to analize the heavy metal concentration of Pb in sea water and small pelagic fishes (Decapterus sp, Rastrelliger sp and Sardinella fimbriata) landed at PPS Belawan and analysis the correlation of heavy metal Pb in sea water and body of fishes. The research was conducted at Medan Belawan Subdistrict, North Sumatera Province. Analysis of heavy metal Pb content in sea water and body of fishes was carriedout at the Medan Research and Industry Standarization Laboratory. Result showed that the range concentration of Pb in sea water was 0.17 ppm to 0.20 ppm, while in body of fish of Decapterus sp was 0.50 ppm to 1.18 ppm, Rastrelliger sp was 0.24 ppmto 0.97 ppm and Sardinella fimbriata was 0.23 ppm to 0.50 ppm. Compared to Regulation of National Standarization on 2004 the concentration of heavy metal Pb in body fishes had exceeded the level standard of 0.2 ppm. Based on the regresion analysis the correlation (r) of heavy metal contentration in sea water was very strong to heavy metal concentration in body fishes with value 0.73.Keywords : Plumbum, Sea Water, Small Pelagic Fish, Belawan

Abstract

The river is the mass of water that naturally flows through a valley in theearth's surface from a high place to a lower place. Casanova River is located inDeli Serdang, North Sumatra. Data on objects and attractions as well as thequality of water is needed to determine how large the potential in The RiverCasanova. The purpose of this study to determine the potential of The riverCasanova and tourism activity influence on water quality. This study wasconducted from April to June 2016. Data collections that performed in this studyare water quality data and perception of a community also visitors byquestionnaires. The results showed that the water quality of The River Casanovabased on seven parameters were still correspond to the standard of quality but fortotal coliform, the parameter has exceeded the quality standards under PP No 82of 2001 and the perceptions of visitors already felt comfortable with theseattractions. Abstract

Sitardas Village at Badiri sub district, District of Tapanuli Tengah is one of conservesion area that potensial tourism and fhisiries at Districtof Tapanuli Tengah. The aims of the study are to analize the percentage of coral covered area.The research was conducted for two months from April to Agust 2014 in Stradas Village. The research used survey method by using Line Intercept Transect (LIT) in two research stations with line transect 100 meters and three replications in each transect. Guildelines for measuring the condition of coral refers to Bapeda Regulation No. 47 of 2001. The results showed the condition of coral reefs in the Stardas Village was middle health category with coral covered area of 27,53%. The result dicreased compared to monitoring conducted by Marine and Fisheries Department of North Sumatera in, 2014 (50,96%), and 2015 (34.06%). The highest lifeform coral percentages in first station was Dead Scleractinia with a persentation of 34 %and than the highest lifeform coral percentages in second station was Hard Coral (Acropora) to cover a persentation of 44.4 %.Keywords : Coral Covered Area, Sitardas Village, Tapanuli Tengah District
