Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the use of edutainment media on interest in learning and the numerical abilities of VII grade junior high school students in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a correlational study with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were class VII students at 5 junior high schools in the Gresik District, totaling 702 students. The sample used in this study were 254 students who were obtained using the slovin formula with the proportionate cluster random sampling technique with an error rate of 5%. The instruments used in this study were tests of the ability to use edutainment media, tests of students' numerical abilities, and questionnaires of students' learning interest. The data analysis test used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using the Amos 24 program. The results of this study indicate that: (1) There is a positive and significant influence between the use of edutainment media and students' learning interest. (2) There is a positive and significant influence between the use of edutainment media and students' numerical abilities. (3) There is an influence between learning interest and students' numerical abilities.Keywords: Edutainment Media, Learning Interest, Numerical Ability

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemampuan numerasi peserta didik berdasarkan jenis pengetahuan metakognisi dengan mengacu pada indikator kemampuan numerasi dan disesuaikan dengan tahapan proses penyelesaian masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Cerme Gresik kelas X MIPA-5 dengan melibatkan tiga peserta didik sebagai subjek penelitian, yang masing-masing satu peserta didik mewakili jenis pengetahuan metakognisinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diperoleh tiga jenis pengetahuan, pada peserta didik yang mengacu pada tiga indikator kemampuan numerasi yakni : (I1) Kemampuan menganalsis informasi yang disajikan dalam berbagai bentuk yang meliputi : gambar, grafik, tabel, bagan, diagram; (I2) Kemampuan menggunakan simbol atau berbagai macam angka yang terkait dengan matematika dasarndalam mneyelesaikan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari ; (I3) Kemampuan menafsirkan hasil analisis untuk mengambil keputusan yang tepat. Dengan ini peserta didik dengan jenis pengetahuan deklaratif mampu menguasai dua indikator I1 dan I3, namun kurang menguasai pada satu indikator I2; peserta didik dengan jenis pengetahuan prosedural mampu menguasai semua indikator kemampuan numerasi I1, I2, I3 ; peserta didik dengan jenis pengetahuan kondisional cukup mampu menguasai hanya satu indikator saja I1, sedangkan untuk kedua indikator tergolong tidak mampu menguasai I2, I3.

Abstract

The research objective is to develop an  evaluation tool two tier multiple choice using the wondershare quiz creator to identify students mathematical connection capabilities. The research model uses ADDIE. The test subjects in the study were class VII-D of Islamic Qon Middle School. The research instruments used were interview sheets, validation sheets, test instruments, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. The results are: (1) the evaluation tool is feasible because it meets 2 valid and effective criteria. Valid criteria based on the assessment of media experts 94% (very feasible), and 80% material experts (feasible). Effective criteria are seen from the response of students and the quality of the items. The results of the students' responses were 82% (very interesting). While the quality of the items, the validity test contained 1 invalid question. Reliability test, there is 1 unreliable question. The difficulty level test has 7 moderate questions, 3 easy questions, and there are no difficult questions. The distinguishing power test contained 2 very good questions, 6 good questions, 2 enough questions, and not in the bad category. There were 11 distractors at the first level and 6 at the second level who were selected from all students. (2) The percentage of mathematical connections is very high 39.3%, high percentage 46.4%, moderate percentage 3.6%, low percentage 3.6%, and very low percentage 7.1%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability to solve mathematical problems of students in terms of self-confidence. This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The data in this study were obtained from tests and questionnaires. The results of the questionnaire were used to classify student’s self-confidence. The test results of the problem solving were then analyzed based on the student’s self-confidence. As a complement to the data on problem solving skills of students, interviews were conducted at each level of self confidence. The results showed that students with high level of self-confidence have excellent problem solving skills with an average value of problem solving skills of 91. Student’s with moderate level of self-confidence have good problem solving skills with an average value of problem solving skills of 74, and student’s with low level of self-confidence have fairly good problem solving skills with an average value of problem solving skills of 51. Keywords: problem solving skill, mathematics, self-confidence. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1670-1679

Abstract

The tendency to develop critical thinking skills has been carried out for a long time starting from the definition, indicators of mathematical critical thinking, and the practice of developing critical thinking. Critical thinking can be developed both individually and classically through learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze qualitatively the mathematical critical thinking process of SD Muhammadiyah Manyar students in terms of cognitive style. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The results of the analysis obtained students with FD cognitive style more than students with FI cognitive style. From the difference in numbers, it is in line with the analysis of the learning process where students need more teacher instruction in completing assignments. In addition, from the analysis of critical thinking aspects according to Facione (2013) of the 6 existing aspects there are 2 aspects that have not been achieved by students, namely explanation and self-regulation. Keywords: critical thinking skills, cognitive style, elementary school. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i2.pp373-384

Abstract

Mathematics learning can be done by applying it in everyday life, one of which is through available local culture or through available cultural practices. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of learning the Realistic Mathematics Education approach based on ethnomathematics to support the mathematical literacy of junior high school students. The effectiveness indicators used in this study are: students' response to learning, students' learning outcomes, students' activities, and teachers' ability to manage learning. The type of research used is descriptive research. The research subjects used were VIII grade students of YPI Darussalam 2 Cerme Junior High School, Gresik Regency, East Java consisting of 30 students. The data collection technique used in this study used an observation sheet of the teacher's ability to manage learning and student activities. The next instrument uses a questionnaire sheet of students' responses, and to determine student learning outcomes using student learning outcomes tests. Based on the results of the study showed that: 1) The teacher's ability to manage learning is 86.67% of the maximum score with a very good category, 2) Student activities show a percentage of 84.67%, including in the good category, 3) The response given by students in the good category with a percentage of 74.8%, and 4) The completeness of students' learning outcomes in the good category with a percentage of 76.67% of the maximum score. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research shows that ethnomathematics-based RME learning is effective in supporting the mathematical literacy of junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students based on their level of learning independence, which is divided into high, medium, and low learning independence. The type of research applied is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted in class VIII-A UPT SMP Negeri 17 Gresik and focused on three students as research subjects. One subject represents a different level of learning independence, namely: The instruments used include a learning independence questionnaire for subject selection, a mathematical connection ability test to determine students' abilities in writing, and interviews to clarify data from test results as well as additional information. The mathematical connection ability test was conducted twice to ensure accuracy. Data collected at different times were compared using the time triangulation method. Data analysis concluded that: (1) students with a high level of learning independence are able to fulfill all indicators of mathematical connection, (2) students with a moderate level of learning independence can fulfill all indicators of mathematical connection, although the subject's work on the second indicator question is incomplete and (3) students with a low level of learning independence can fulfill one of the three indicators of mathematical connection.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the level of students' mathematical communication skills in mathematics subjects with statistics material when faced with mathematical problems. The population of this study was 32 students consisting of 17 men and 15 women in Class IX A UPT SMPN 34 Gresik. The subjects in this study were 9 students who were divided into three groups, namely high, medium and low, the group division was based on the mathematics assessment on the report card. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, with the aim of describing students' abilities in communicating mathematical ideas when working in groups to solve mathematical problems. The research tools used in this research include written test instruments and interviews designed to measure students' mathematical communication skills, a written test consisting of two questions, then students' answers are communicated using in-depth interviews. The results of the research showed that in the written test, the high group subjects had quite good performance on question number 1, while the middle group and low group subjects had good performance in mathematical communication skills on question 1. On question number 2 the high group and low group subjects had good performance in solving problems, while the medium group subjects were still not good in expressing their arguments regarding mathematical communication in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy skills can help someone recognize the uses of mathematics in everyday life. This is closely related to students' mathematical connection abilities. Without good mathematical connection skills, students' numeracy literacy abilities will not be optimal. This research aims to describe numeracy literacy abilities in terms of students' mathematical connections. The subjects in this research were three class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Gresik, each of whom had high, medium and low levels of mathematical connection ability. The data instruments used are tests and interview guidelines. The results of this research show that students with high mathematical connection abilities can solve numeracy literacy questions correctly, while students with middle and low mathematical connection abilities cannot solve numeracy literacy questions correctly. This is because students do not yet understand the basic concepts of calculating operations for dividing fractions in the form of roots and the concept of trigonometry material itself. Based on the research results, it is recommended that students maximize their mathematical connection abilities by increasing their understanding of concepts. So by having good mathematical connection skills you will be able to support good numeracy literacy skills and also to solve math problems, especially AKM questions.

Abstract

Modul ajar merupakan salah satu jenis perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru sebagai pemandu pada proses pembelajaran. Modul ajar ini mirip rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada kurikulum sebelumnya. Modul ajar sebaiknya dikembangkan sendiri oleh guru agar sesuai dengan konteks lingkungan dan kebutuhan belajar muridnya, hal ini tidak terkecuali untuk guru pada Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD). Sebagai hal yang baru, penyusunan modul ajar bukanlah hal yang mudah bagi guru PAUD. Kesulitan mereka terutama tentang kriteria modul ajar yang baik, proses penyusunannya dan bagaimana menyusun modul ajar yang sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik dan lingkungannya. Program pengabdian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru PAUD tentang konsep dan strategi pengembangan modul ajar serta pendampingan pengembangan modul ajar yang akan diimplementasikan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2021/2022.  Materi konsep dan prinsip pmbelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik ditambahkan juga pada kegiatan pengabdian ini agar guru lebih maksimal dalam memilih dan mendesain pembelajaran yang kontekstual, sesuai dengan minat anak dan berakar dari budaya bangsanya. Sasarn daroi program pengabdian ini adalah guru-guru pada program sekolah penggerak jenjang PAUD di lima sekolah di Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Program pengabdaian dilakukan melalui workshop dan Focuss Group Discussion (FGD). Luaran dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah sepuluh modul ajar untuk semester genap tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru diketahui bahwa semua guru memiliki pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang terhadap komponen modul ajar, langkah-langkah penyusunan dan teknik penyusunannya. Selain itu, kegiatan pendampingan dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri para guru untuk berbagi dan mengimplementasikan modul ajar yang telah dikembangkan.
