Abstract

After the crisis hit Europe in 2009, there was a massive Euro capital movement to Swiss causing the overvaluation of the Franc against the Euro which threatened the Swiss economic growth, because Swiss is an exporter country. To save the economy of Swiss, Swiss National Bank announced to set minimum exchange rate at CHF 1.20 per euro in 2011. The policy was successfully boosting the economic growth rate, and preventing the threat to the Swiss export sector from 2011-2014, but without any domestic financial crisis and prior notice, on 15 January 2015, Swiss announced to unpeg the Euro and deliberately weakened its economic growth projection from 1,8% to 0,5% in 2015. This policy was taken after swiss announced its commitment to keep the peg on December 2014 media news conference of Swiss National Bank. So the question arises about why the Swiss unpegged the Franc currency against the Euro in 2015.This research is using liberalism perspective, Liberals believe that states can work together mutually benefited and all the policies they made ultimately to ascertain free trade can work properly. The author used price specie flow mechanism theory by David Hume with the level of the nation-state analysis. This theory emphasize that the goal of monetary policy is the economic balance and stability. This research applying qualitative methods and library research, with the sources are from books, journals, official publications, articles, news, and internet.This research shows that Swiss unpegged the Franc-Euro currency to prevent the risk of domestic economic instability due to the failure of the European Union to overcome the Euro crisis. In the ongoing situation of the European economic crisis and the pegging policy creating an economic bubble that could be ruptured as triggered by hyperinflation.Keyword: Peg, Monetary Policy , Currency, Overvaluation, Economic Growth

Abstract

This research aims to explain, the effort of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to promote Korean tourism in Indonesia. Korea and Indonesia have a good cooperative relationship. The Korean government established KTO in Indonesia, because Indonesia has the third largest number of hallyu fans in the world.This research uses the Perspective of Globalization, the level of analysis of nation states, and Theory of International Tourism. The method used is a qualitative research method. This analysis is based on data obtained from literature studies, interviews with an informant over the phone, and from KTO official site.The results of the research in this paper are that KTO has programs to promote Korean tourism in Indonesia from 2016 to 2018. These programs are top idol as brand ambassador of tourism, KTO cooperates with the private sectors, halal tourism and muslim friendly, Korea Festival as cultural festival, and a special microsite for Indonesian tourists.Keyword : Globalization, International Tourism, Korean Tourism, Korea Tourism Organization, Indonesian Tourists.

Abstract

This research discusses about the national interest of Indonesia in corruption eradication agenda through ASEAN Political-Security Community. As a nation, Indonesia has been trying to eradicate corruption because it has been ruining Indonesia’s vision to ensure the prosperity and security of its people. The eradication agenda became priority as the level and impact of corruption escalated drastically in Soeharto’s reign and fall. Corruption becomes more complex as it involves international actors and using more complicate methods. Indonesia realized that different approach should be used to strengthen the eradication agenda, especially to use international cooperation. Researcher focused on the national interest of Indonesia that became a prominent factor of Indonesia to propose the corruption and non traditional security issues in the building process of ASEAN Community. It resulted on agreement to make a pillar of the community that focus on politic and security issues, namely as ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC). The formulation of this research based on Rationalism perspective on International Relations, supported with various theories and concepts, such as national security, national interest, corruption and cooperation, arguments and facts. This research answered the hypothesis made by researcher that revealed ASEAN Political-Security Community becomes one of the instruments that can be used to strengthen the eradication of corruption agenda. It contains cooperation between ASEAN Member States on prevention and combat corruption, the establishment of good governance, and also to deal with the issues of transnational organized crimes. Abstract

Illegal immigrants are persons or groups entering a country without meeting the legal requirements to enter the country or without completing the necessary documents and permits. The entry of illegal immigrants in Greece left a negative impact on politics, socio-culture and security. Illegal immigrants travel very dangerous trip in order to realize their desires. Economic and security factors are the main reason people or groups travel far from their homes even beyond obstacles that are dangerous to their safety. Seeing the rampant flow of illegal immigrants, many pose a threat both in transit countries and in destination countries. Therefore, there needs to be an effort that can deal with the problem of illegal immigrants. The method used by the authors in this study is the level of group behavior analysis. The level of group behavior analysis assumes that the main focus is on studying the behavior of groups and organizations involved in relationships. Data collection techniques in this study through literature study (library reaserch) and interview techniques (field study). The author uses it to obtain the necessary information by reading, understanding, comparing and analyzing books, scientific journals, articles and other data. The arrival of illegal immigrants includes a new threat to the Greece society in this case the Greece Government is trying to do the handling by conducting securitization process in cooperation with FRONTEX (European Border And Coast Guard Agency),where FRONTEX make preventive and curative efforts. Abstract

The problem of piracy accompained from the cases of hostage taking by asking for ransoms that made by the Abu Sayyaf Group in the Sulawesi-Sulu Sea, it caused a serious concern for some contries such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Philipinnes. Indonesia as one of the victims of this piracy ships action was tried to take the steps reorganzie the regional security. The initiation finally found the win-win solution, and the three countries was agreed to meet and discuss this serious problem. Which is, in the end the meeting was beginning of the formation of the three state cooperation. The method of data collecting is done by collecting primer data, then analyzed in qualitative to obtain the draft about the main problem. The method of this research is the method of qualitative explanatif. The data is obtained through primer data such as direct interview via e-mail and chatiing to relevant agencies, and the data is obtained secunder data such as book, journal, newspaper and website. From the result of research, that trilateral cooperation initiated by Indonesia as a form of security arrangement in the Sulawesi-Sulu Sea is inseparable from the national interests thats Indonesia wants to protect and achieve. These interests consist of defense, economic, and ideological interests. Trilateral cooperation is well implemented, has minimized cases of piracy and robbery againts ship the next year.Keywords: Indonesia, National Interest, Trilateral Cooperation, Abu Sayyaf, Sulawesi-Sulu Sea.

Abstract

Italy is aware of the potential of its country in the culture so that it uses it as a tool of cultural diplomacy to countries that have diplomatic relations with Italy, one of which is Indonesia. Diplomacy Italian culture through Italian culture institutions (instituto Italiano di cultura) in Indonesia aims to introduce the arts, language and culture of the country to the Indonesian people in order to achieve their national interests.         This study uses a constructivist perspective, cultural diplomacy theory, the concept of soft power and the level of analysis of the nation state. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research by collecting data from the IIC official website, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, interviews with IIC parties via gmail, and whatsapp, as well as scientific journals, books and other websites.        Italian cultural diplomacy towards Indonesia through IIC is going well with on going activities such as learning Italian, providing scholarship information from the Italian government, seminars, visits school and organizing cultural activities in the form of  film screenings, introducing Italian cuisine that is maintained existence. Keywords: Cultural Diplomacy, Istituto Italiano Di Cultura (IIC), Italy, Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper is an analysis of the foreign policy issued by Indonesia in increasing the number of troops to 4000 troops. This research focused on analyzing internal and external factors that influence Indonesia in issuing this policy. Indonesia is listed as a member of the United Nations which is very active in maintaining world peace, while there are countries that choose to abstain and just enjoy the peace created.The theoretical framework used in this study is the Neo-Realist perspective, the level of analysis of the nation-state, foreign policy theory. This study uses qualitative research by collecting data from reports and documents, books, legislation, online media and publications with primary sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. The results of this study indicate that, in issuing policies, the state has many considerations that must be considered. The policy of sending 4000 troops issued by Indonesia also takes into account internal and external factors. Internal factors consist of government structure, security and national attributes. Abstract

This research aims to explain the strategy of CV. Gaharu Plaza Indonesia is marketing gaharu derivative products in the Malaysian market. Opportunities CV. Gaharu Plaza Indonesia to market gaharu derivative products in the Malaysian market has been further facilitated by the cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia which was formed in the Malaysia-Indonesia Social Economic Cooperation (SOSEK MALINDO) and Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) forums. The research data is obtained from books, journals, official documents and websites that support the hypothesis. The author use liberalis approach and group analysis. And the theory used in this study is the theory of international trade. The method used is a qualitative research method. This analysis is based on data obtained from literature studies and field studies by conducting interviews directly with informants who are considered capable of providing information regarding the problem under study. The results of the research show that the CV strategy. Gaharu Plaza Indonesia in marketing gaharu derivative products in the Malaysian market is by increasing excellence through product development, promotion, competitive prices, clear distribution systems and utilizing facilities provided by the Indonesian Government in promoting products abroad.Keywords: Agarwood Derivative Products, Market, SOSEK MALINDO, IMT-GT.

Abstract

This research explains about Militery Technique cooporation between Indonesia and Russia in term of the trade agreement of Sukhoi Su-30MK2 in 2006-2010. The agreement if Security Cooperation is written in Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was agreed on 21 in April 2003.The data of this research were acquired from journals, offical documents, minithesis, books, and internet to analyze cooperation of military technique in term of the trade agreement of Sukhoi Su-30MK2 aircraft between Indonesia and Russia. This research use’a Realist point of view and International Cooperations Theory.This research proves that the history between the two countries takes the main role in this cooperation. On the other hand the Military technique cooperation between Indonesia and Rusia has an effect in air military measures power which includes purchasing Sukhoi Su-30MK2. This trade will increase the capabilities of indonesia’s national security. Abstract

Diplomatic efforts in the field of education are needed to build education for the entire community in order to create a fair and equitable quality education system. Australia conducts diplomacy in the field of education in Indonesia to promote its national interests, and considering the condition of education in Indonesia which is still experiencing many problems, such as the lack of availability of education funds, the low quality of teaching staff, and the unavailability of adequate facilities. The cooperation between Australia and Indonesia in the field of education is supported by the MoU which includes cooperation at all levels of education. In this case, this study will discuss Australia's diplomatic efforts in the field of education in Indonesia.          The analysis in this study is based on the theory of Multi track Diplomacy which implements diplomacy in education through 9 pathways. The perspective used is the perspective of pluralism which argues that the actors in IR are very diverse and the existence of these actors is very influential. So this research will analyze the actors involved in Australian and Indonesian education programs. The level of analysis in this research is the nation-state with a qualitative descriptive research method, where the research is carried out covering the activities of collecting, compiling, and analyzing data. This research is limited to the period 2014-2021.          Australia's diplomatic efforts in the field of education towards Indonesia have been successfully implemented through the channels in Multi Track Diplomacy. Education programs in Indonesia are running well with the presence of various actors, such as the government, professionals, communities, academics, activists, institutions, organizations, and the media who participate in the implementation of educational cooperation between Australia and Indonesia.Keywords: Australia, Indonesia, Multi Track Diplomacy, education
