Abstract

ABSTRACT The results of the Brexit referendum in 2016 with a majority of people voting to leave the European Union made the UK no longer bound by all rules originating from the European Union. During the Brexit transition period, the UK designed and prepared a new government and negotiated a future cooperative relationship with the European Union. Through 9 rounds of cooperation negotiations with the European Union, on 24 December 2020 British and European Union negotiators reached an agreement on a cooperation agreement. The EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement has changed the basics of Britain's relationship with the European Union to become a free trade and cooperation relationship. This paper shows the factors used by the UK to determine its foreign policy in agreeing to the TCA. This research uses the perspective of neo-liberalism and foreign policy theory. The method used in this research is explanatory qualitative with literature study data collection techniques both physical and digital. The results showed that the UK's decision to agree on the TCA was due to internal and external factors that influenced the UK's decision. Britain's internal factors can be seen in the implications of Brexit on the British economy, interest in regulating access to and operating transportation services, and interest in managing aquatic resources. Indicators of the UK's external factors are the ease of access to EU countries, the threat of terrorism from outside, eliminating the European Union's tariff barrier, and increasing foreign investment from the EU. Abstract

The spread of Covid-19 has an impact on increasing anti-Asian racism globally, especially in the United States. There have been 10,370 reports of incidents of racism and attacks against Asians and their descendants in the United States since March 2020. The rapidly growing crisis of anti-Asian racism in the United States prompted the formation of an organization called Stop Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders Hate (Stop AAPI Hate) which seeks to take the issue to a global level to stop anti-Asian racism in the United States. The author examines how Stop AAPI Hate's efforts deal with global issues related to racism in the United States at the United Nations Forum. The author uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data comes from the experiences of victims who are registered as experiencing acts of racism at Stop AAPI Hate, data from organizations concerned that have collaborated in handling racism in the United States, articles, journals, books and other official websites related to the role or actions of Stop AAPI Hate. This study uses the perspective of Pluralism with the theory of the Role of Non-Governmental Organizations at the level of analysis of non-governmental organizations. The results of the study show several steps as a form of Stop AAPI Hate's efforts in dealing with global issues related to racism in the United States at the United Nations forum, including data and research, changing narratives, advocacy and community support to raise the issue of anti-Asian racism to a global level and get support from other international actors in dealing with the issue of anti-Asian racism in the United States post-Covid-19 at the UN forum. Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country where its geographical position and conditions not only place Indonesia as a country that has a strategic position for international shipping, but also pose considerable challenges. A portrait of maritime security issues in Indonesia includes identifying trends in maritime security. To secure such a vast sea, no single country is able to do it alone. Indonesia's success in selecting members of the IMO Council certainly poses a challenge to Indonesia to improve the security and safety of efficient shipping while also increasing the protection of the marine environment. This research is theoretically built using role theory in foreign policy and supported by the concept of national interests. The formulation of all arguments, data, facts, and theoretical frameworks in this study uses a qualitative descriptive method. This study also uses the nation-state as a level of analysis. The result of this study is that Indonesia's re-election as a member of the IMO Category-C board provides a role in realizing the security of Indonesia's maritime transportation and navigation through the Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) policy in the Sunda Strait and Lombok Strait, where the use of TSS is a separation scheme system shipping lanes of ships going in opposite directions in a busy and narrow shipping lane in order to avoid ship accidents that often occur in the two straits due to the density of ship traffic lanes. Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is one of the tea producing countries and is the world's tea producer. Tea is one of the non-oil and gas commodities that continues to grow and produces a sector that can be exported. Tea export activities between the two countries result in economic and trade cooperation. The trade war between the United States and China provided a great opportunity for Indonesia to export tea, one of which was the export of tea by the State-Owned Enterprise Holding PTPN III Persero with the American beverage company Starbucks Corporation. Based on these conditions, this paper discusses why Holding PTPN III Persero exports tea to Starbucks Company.. In this study, the authors obtained data from primary sources or primary data in the form of interview results, data through literacy such as books, journals, articles, web pages, and official e-mails. This study uses the level of group analysis, where the subjects are several agency groups. The method used in this study is a qualitative explanatory method. Qualitative research is research that intends to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by the research object. Explanative qualitative describes different social phenomena and is explained with an overview that is the main explanation. The results of this study indicate that tea export activities between Holding PTPN III Persero and Starbucks are part of the PTPN Holding's mission to increase direct sales to companies that directly process tea produced by PTPN as a raw material for beverages. These exports generate several economic benefits, namely increasing the country's foreign exchange, expanding the market area, increasing production, and modernizing technology. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is based on in International Relations, especially in contemporary concentration. The refugee problem is a social problem that is included in contemporary concentration in International Relations studies. The background of the appointment of the refugee case in this study related to the refugees demonstrations that occurred in several places in Pekanbaru City, namely at the office Kesbangpol city of Pekanbaru, the building Graha Pena Riau, the regional office of the Riau Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the office of the Governor Riau, from November 15th,2021 to November 2nd,2022. another is to demand UNHCR to immediately resettlement refugees to third country. This study used a qualitative research method with data triangulation from interviews with UNHCR, refugees, Kesbangpol Pekanbaru City, and the Pekanbaru City Community. Furthermore, to evaluate the role and find the root of the problem in this study, Clive Archer's theory of the role of International Organizations (OI) is used, which divides the role of International Organizations into 3 roles, 1.) the role of OI as an instrument; 2.) OI's role as an arena; and 3.) OI's role as an actor. The results of this study showed that UNHCR has carried out all of these roles. Therefore it was identified that the problem of resettlement demanded by refugees from UNHCR was a wrong understanding of UNHCR's role. This research showed that UNHCR has implemented an optimal role, such as UNHCR's role as an instrument, by through the Self-Reliance program in the form of Education Program (formal and informal), Livelihood and Income, and Access to Other Basic Human Rights; UNHCR's role as an arena, by becoming a place for meetings and consultations to resolve refugee problems; UNHCR's role as an actor is how UNHCR can influence and codify state decision-making so that it is in accordance with UNHCR's mandate. Abstract

The Hajj is deliberately visiting the Baitullah Al-Haram Kaaba in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and other historical places and carrying out a series of predetermined worships. In its implementation, various problems occur, ranging from transportation, accommodation, catering and health, so The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia conducted a survey of the Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims Satisfaction Index (IKJHI) and the results showed fluctuating numbers in the 2010-2014 period, for this reason the research aimed to find out how Indonesia's efforts towards Saudi Arabia in improving worship services Indonesian pilgrimage 2015 to 2019. The perspective used is Neo-Libralism, with the level of nation-state analysis, and using the theory of foreign policy implementation, as well as with the method of literature study, with a qualitative approach, and the scope of this research is from 2015 to 2019. Indonesia is making efforts towards Saudi Arabia in improving Indonesian Hajj services by carrying out foreign policy by appointing the Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia as the Hajj coordinator, signing an annual Hajj MoU with Saudi Arabia, and implementing various service innovations such as the e-Hajj system, mandatory Biometrics for pilgrims, 24-hour buses, lottery and accommodation zoning in Mecca, catering with an Indonesian flavor, as well as increasing the role of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of Saudi Arabia as the organizing committee for Hajj. Abstract

Potensi usaha kuliner yang sangatlah besar dan tidak akan pernah berhenti terus bertumbuh di masyarakat dengan munculnya bisnis-bisnis seperti produksi rumahan hingga UMKM. Tingginya aktifitas masyarakat juga menjadi faktor yang mempengaruhi potensi usaha kuliner. Kekuatan merek dagang bagi suatu usaha tentu menjadi hal yang utama. Saat ini media digital pun telah memfasilitasi bagi pelaku dan kegiatan usaha dengan munculnya marketplace, kegiatan usaha dapat dibagikan sehingga dikenal masyarakat yang pada akhirnya akan bertujuan untuk memperoleh keuntungan serta peningkatan penjualan. “maMiL koki” adalah salah satu usaha kuliner yang telah dirintis sejak tahun 2020 oleh alumni Universitas Riau yang ada di Kota Pekanbaru. Namun usaha dagang ini belum banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat di Kota Pekanbaru. Adapun tujuan pengabdian ini untuk mengetahui pemahaman alumni yang berwirausaha mengenai pentingnya penguatan merek dagang berbasis marketing PR dan pendekatan komunitas dalam berwirausaha, untuk menganalisis kekuatan merek dagang dan citra usaha kuliner alumni, untuk memberikan pembinaan usaha bagi alumni yang berwirausaha berbasis IPTEK melalui rancangan strategi marketing PR (desain e-catalog, video profile) yang terkoneksi dengan marketplace dan social media dalam membantu mengembangkan usaha kuliner alumni yang berwirausaha. Dimana masyarakat sasarannya adalah alumni Universitas Riau yang berwiausaha. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan metode diskusi, praktek dan pembinaan. Sehingga memberikan kontribusi dan manfaat yang sesuai dengan tujuan pengabdian yang ingin dicapai keberhasilannya dengan dapat meningkatnya pemahaman mengenai citra dan branding kekuatan merek dagang dan diwujudkan dengan terealisasinya pendaftarakan merek dagang sebagai kekayaan intelektual. Selain itu tercipta wirausaha mandiri “maMiL koki” yang menjadi binaan Inkubator Bisnis dan P2K2 Universitas Riau melalui program pengabdian berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This research will discuss the efforts of the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency, abbreviated as BP2MI, in improving the safety of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) with Malaysia in the 2019 to 2022 period. This research concentrates on the task force unit under the auspices of BP2MI, namely the Riau Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI). This research is theoretically constructed using a neorealism perspective and is supported by role theory according to KJ Holsti. The formulation of all arguments, data, facts, and theoretical framework in this study uses a qualitative description method. This study also uses groups as a level of analysis. The results of this study are that BP3MI Riau as the Task Implementing Unit of BP2MI has made various efforts to improve PMI security with Malaysia both before, during and after PMI has worked. BP3MI has coordinated with all parties in resolving problems experienced by PMI. The efforts made by BP2MI through BP3MI Riau can be seen to what extent it has implemented Law no. 18 of 2017, and its efforts in dealing with problems based on existing case studies. Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of Russia which is present as a major producer in regional and global energy markets and is supported by large natural gas reserves so that it is able to maximize this potential as a tool/instrument in achieving its interests. Through the Foreign Energy Policy, Russia is trying to achieve a stable position in the energy market, especially in Hungary because of the strategic political-economic relations between the two countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of Russia's Foreign Energy Policy in Hungary with the note that the country is part of the European Union and NATO which tends to be in opposition to Russia. This research use a qualitative method with Document Analysis data collection techniques which originate from writing in the form of books, journals, official documents, articles, websites and uses the theory of policy implementation. The result of the research show that the implementation of the Russian Foreign Energy Policy in Hungary is carried out through pragmatic cooperation so that the provisions and implementation are dynamic in accordance with the market conditions of the two working together. The theory of policy implementation also explains the implementation process by determining implementing actors, target actors, implementation procedures and the impact of the Foreign Energy Policy for the two countries involved. Abstract

This research delves into the execution of Indonesian Cultural Diplomacy through the platform of the International Gamelan Festival 2018 hosted in Solo. The orchestration of this event was overseen by the Indonesian government with the aim of cultivating a positive worldwide viewpoint of the country. The central emphasis of this investigation centers on dissecting Indonesia's showcasing of the cultural diplomacy principles of Transmission, Acceptance, and Coexistence, all encapsulated within the context of the International Gamelan Festival 2018. This process significantly contributed to the shaping of Indonesia's global image. The primary beneficiaries of this Indonesian cultural diplomacy venture were the international participants actively involved in the festival. The research methodology employed for this study is descriptive in nature, involving an in-depth examination of relevant literature to gather data. This investigation is rooted in both the principles of cultural diplomacy theory and a pluralistic perspective. These conceptual frameworks serve as foundational guides for analyzing Indonesia's strategic approach to cultural diplomacy, as demonstrated by its involvement in the International Gamelan Festival. The outcomes derived from this study highlight that the Indonesian cultural diplomacy, as showcased through the International Gamelan Festival 2018 in Solo, substantially amplified Indonesia's positive global reputation. This impact was particularly evident among international participants who deeply engaged with the festival's cultural presentations. Furthermore, this diplomatic endeavor facilitated the dissemination of insights into Indonesian culture and cultivated a sense of familiarity among the foreign attendees actively participating in the International Gamelan Festival 2018 in Solo.
