Abstract

Tujuan studi ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh ditambahkannya sari buah jambu biji merah (SBJBM) di pengencer tris kuning telur (TKT) pada kualitas semen babi duroc. Memakai semen segar dengan motilitas spermatozoa 76±2,23%, viabilitas 91,41±4,23%, abnormalitas 3,42±0,55%, dan konsentrasi spermatozoa 263,40±18,20×106 sel/ml. Penelitian ini memakai Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) lima perlakuan lima kali ulangan yaitu: P0 = TKT 100%, P1 = TKT 100% + SBJBM 0,5% P2 = TKT 100% + SBJBM 1%, P3 = TKT 100% + SBJBM 1,5%, P4 = TKT 100%  + SBJBM 2%. Variabel yang diteliti adalah: motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan daya tahan hidup (DTH) spermatozoa. Analisis data meliputi analisis rata-rata, standar deviasi dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P1 dengan level 0,5% SBJBM dalam pengencer TKT mendapat mutu sperma lebih tinggi secara statistik (P kecil dari 0,05) di jam ke 36 penyimpanan dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya, dengan motilitas: 42,20±2,28%, viabilitas: 59,79±5,72%, abnormalitas: 4,52±0,39%, dan DTH spermatozoa: 38,40±2,60. Simpulan dari penelitian ini, penambahan SBJBM dengan tingkat 0,5% dalam pengencer TKT memberikan respon yang baik dalam menjaga motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa babi duroc.

Abstract

This study aims to find the best combination. diluent of watermelon juice and egg yolk to maintain the quality of landrace pig spermatozoa. Semen is accommodated twice a week from one two-year-old male landrace pig. This study was experimental using a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and five repeats. The treatment consists of P0= SBS 80%+KT 20%. P1= SBS 80%+KT 20%+VCO 1.5%. VIT C 0.1 mg/mL. P2= SBS 80%+KT 20%+VCO 3.0%. VIT C 0.2 mg/mL. P3= SBS 80%+KT 20%+VCO 4.5%. VIT C 0.3 mg/mL. P4=   SBS 80%+KT 20%+VCO 6.0%. VIT C 0.4 mg/mL. Diluted semen is stored in  a coolbox at a temperature of 15-20ºC. then observed every 8 hours until the percentage of spermatozoa motility is 40%. The results of this study showed that semen diluted using watermelon juice in P1 treatment (VCO 1.5% and vitamin C 0.1%) had higher quality (P<0.05) compared to other treatments. namely motility reaching motility (53.75±4.79). viability (59.75±5.56). abnormalities (3.75±0.29). and survival (29.50±0.82 hours). It was concluded that the addition of 1.5% VCO and 0.1% vitamin C to watermelon juice diluent was effective in maintaining the quality of landrace pig spermatozoa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kualitas sperma babi landrace dalam pengencer Mulberry III (MIII) dengan penambahan ekstrak etanol daun kelor yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan, di mana perlakuan tersebut terdiri dari P0 = MIII KT + EEDK, P1 = MIII KT + EEDK 0,5%, P2 = MIII KT + EEDK 1%, P3 = MIII KT + EEDK 1,5%, P4 = MIII KT + EEDK 2% dan P5 = MIII KT + EEDK 2,5. Setelah semen di encerkan maka akan di simpan pada kotak styrofoam dengan suhu 18-20 °C, semen tersebut akan di evaluasi setiap 8 jam sekali, terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup dari sperma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hingga jam penyimpanan ke 40, P1 dengan penambahan MIII KT + EEDK 0,5% dapat memberikan hasil yang terbaik dengan nilai motilitas (43,75±4,78), viabilitas (49,72±3,71), abnormalitas (5,54±1,13) dan daya tahan hidup (39,66±2,73). Kesimpulannya P1 dengan penambahan MIII KT + EEDK 0,5% merupakan perlakuan terbaik dan dapat mempertahankan motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup dari sperma. Abstract

The management of organic waste from the livestock sector is a significant challenge in achieving sustainable agricultural practices. The problem of poorly managed livestock waste can cause environmental pollution and contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, the Community Service (PkM) activity was carried out at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Marine and Fisheries, Nusa Cendana University, aiming to improve the understanding and skills of alumni and final year students of the Animal Husbandry Study Program in processing waste into quality bokashi fertiliser. This activity took place from 17 April to 14 May 2024, involving 23 participants, including lecturers and partners. The methods applied included distribution of extension materials, socialisation, bokashi processing training, as well as financial management and digital marketing training. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in partners' understanding of various aspects. The biggest improvement was recorded in the aspect of simple bookkeeping, with 65% of respondents feeling more able to record transactions systematically using spreadsheet software. In addition, understanding of bokashi fertiliser processing technology increased by 35%, packaging by 38%, and digital marketing by 50%. Overall, this activity succeeded in increasing the skills (soft skills and hard skills) of partners by 40%

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji perbandingan tampilan Estrus induk sapi bali yang di sinkronisasi menggunakan Prostaglandin F2? dengan pengelompokan bobot badan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan 21 induk yang diseleksi dari 47 induk sapi bali. Kriteria induk yang digunakan adalah kisaran umur 3 – 12 tahun dengan skor kondisi tubuh 2 – 4,5 dengan paritas 0 – 7 kali. Perhitungan bobot badan induk sapi bali menggunakan rumus schoorl ((lingkar dada+22)2/100) sehingga terdapat 3 pengelompokan induk sapi bali dengan P1(240 kg – 289 kg), P2(290 kg – 339 kg), P3(340 kg – 389 kg). Induk sapi disinkron menggunakan PGF2? dengan dosis 5 mg/ml per ekor secara intramuscular. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dibagi dalam 3 perlakuan dengan masing – masing ulangan P1(7 ulangan), P2(9 ulangan), P3(3 ulangan). Data yang diperoleh akan ditabulasi dan kemudian dianalisi menggunakan uji Anova dengan nilai rata – rata dari masing masing perlakuan terhadap variable adalah, kecpatan timbulnya estrus P1 (92.21 ± 31.47), P2 (54.75 ± 26.54), P3 (82.38 ± 63.81), durasi estrus P1 (9.93 ± 0.89), P2 (10.00 ± 4.31), P3 (7.75 ± 5.36), intensitas estrus P1(1.71 ± 0.95), P2(2.20 ± 1.03), P3 (1.25 ± 0.96), dengan presentas iestrus 90,48%. Data diperoleh menggunakan analisis Anova yang menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata( P> 0,05 )

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi pengencer modifikasi air kelapa muda-sitrat terhadap kualitas spermatozoa babi landrace. Materi penelitian adalah semen segar yang diperoleh dari satu ekor babi landrace umur 2 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan yakni: (P0) AKM 100%, (P1) AKM 75% + Sitrat 25%, (P2) AKM 50%+ Sitrat 50%, (P3) AKM 25% + Sitrat 75%, (P4) Sitrat 100%, setiap perlakuan ditambahkan Ekstrak Daun Kelor/EDK sebesar 1 %. Semen yang telah diencerkan disimpan pada suhu 18-20. Evaluasi semen setelah pengenceran dilakukan setiap 8 jam terhadap motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (Anova) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi modifikasi pengencer AKM 50% + Sitrat 50% (P2) mempunyai kualitas terbaik dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya, yaitu dengan presentase motilitas 46,401,52%, viabilitas 45,004,63%, abnormalitas 8,290,72%, dan daya tahan hidup 44,90 jam. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi pengencer modifikasi air kelapa muda-sitrat mampu memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap kualitas spermatozoa babi landrace.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi pengencer air kelapa muda (AKM) dan Beltsville Thawing Solution (BTS) terhadap kualitas semen babi landrace. Penelitian ini menggunakan semen segar yang berkualitas baik dengan motilitas sperma ? 70% dan abnormalitas < 20%. Semen ditampung dari seekor ternak babi landrace jantan yang berumur dua tahun dan telah mencapai dewasa kelamin. Semen tersebut diencerkan dengan pengencer AKM dan BTS dengan komposisi perlakuan yang diuji yaitu P0= AKM, P1= AKM 75% + BTS 25%, P2= AKM 50% + BTS 50%, P3= AKM 25% + BTS 75%, P4= BTS, dan selanjutnya dipreservasi didalam coolbox yang bersuhu 18-20°C. eval__uasi kualitas sperma dilakukan setiap delapan jam sekali dengan variabel yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah motilitas, viabilitas, abnormalitas, dan daya tahan hidup spermatozoa. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pengencer AKM 50 + BTS 50% (P2) dan AKM 25 + BTS 75% (P3) mempunyai kualitas semen yang lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan ketiga perlakuan lainya. Disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi pengencer AKM dan BTS dengan perbandingan 50 : 50% dan 25: 75% efektif dalam mempertahankan kualitas semen babi landrace

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the best level of sun-dried carrot extract (SDCE) in the spermax-egg yolk (EY-S) diluent for preserving the sperm of duroc boars. Semen was collected from two 2-year-old healthy duroc boars. The study employed an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of five treatments and five replicates. The five treatments were T1 = EY-S + SDCE 10%, T2 = EY-S + SDCE 12.5%, T3 = EY-S + SDCE 15%, T4 = EY-S + SDCE 17.5%, T5 = EY-S + SDCE 20%. Semen, which was diluted with the treatment diluent, was stored in a cool box at a temperature of 18-20°C and observed every 12 hours until sperm motility reached 40%. The results indicated that treatment P5 was able to maintain the quality of liquid boar semen better than the other treatments (P<0.05) with sperm motility (46.00%), sperm viability (51.92%), sperm abnormality (4.90%), and sperm survival (66.33 hours). It was concluded that a 20% level of sun-dried carrot extract in spermax-egg yolk diluent can preserve motility for up to 60 hours of storage. This study demonstrates that dried carrot extract can enhance the quality and storage capacity of spermatozoa, making it an effective alternative in storage media. This is beneficial in animal reproduction, particularly in artificial insemination, where sperm motility is crucial for fertilization. Furthermore, this research opens up opportunities to explore other natural substances in sperm diluents, reducing reliance on synthetic chemicals and improving the sustainability of reproductive practices.

Abstract

Artificial insemination (IB) is one of the reproductive technologies that has been widely used to increase the population and production of livestock, including pigs, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The success of the IB program depends not only on the quality of the semen of the studs, but also on the ability to maintain the quality of the semen as well as increase the volume through dilution. Semen dilution aims to reduce the density of spermatozoa and extend their lifespan, so that more females can be inseminated. Tris thinners are often used because of their citric acid and fructose content which help maintain pH stability as well as protect spermatozoa. In addition, life cement diluent is also used because of its ability to maintain the survival of spermatozoa. The addition of egg yolks and natural antioxidants, such as moringa leaf extract, is expected to fight free radicals and improve semen quality for IB. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of semen life and modified tris on the quality of landrace pig spermatozoa. This study used a complete randomized design (CRD) method with 5 treatments and 5 replicates. Each treatment consisted of P0: 100% life semen+1% EDK, P1: 75% life semen+25% tris+1% EDK, P2: 50% life semen+50% tris+1% EDK, P3: 25% life semen+75%tris+1%EDK, P4: 100% tris+1% EDK. The cattle used were 2-3 years old, and the spermatozoa used were taken manually by grasping the penis using a cleaned hand. The results of this study showed that the P4 treatment had a significant effect (P<0.05) compared to the other treatments, with motility values of 45.80±3.49%, viability of 56.36±2.06%, abnormality of 5.00±0.86%, and survival of 44.39±2.53 hours. It can be concluded that 100% Tris diluent + 1% EDK is more effective in maintaining the viability of landrace pig spermatozoa for 40 hours of storage time.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the combination of roasted soy milk (RSM) diluent and and modified citrate (C) diluent on the quality of landrace boar spermatozoa. The material used in this study was fresh semen of 2-year-old male landrace pigs. This study used a complete randomized design method consisting of 5 treatments and 5 repeats. The treatment was, T0: roasted soybean milk (RSM) 100% + citrate (C) 0%, T1: RSM 75% + C 25%, T2: RSM 50% + C 50%, T3: RSM 25% + C 75% and T4: RSM 0% + C 100%. Diluted semen was stored at 18-20°C and evaluated every 8 hours. The parameters studied are motility, viability, abnormalities and survival of spermatozoa. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Duncan’s test. The results showed that T3 significantly differed (P<0,05) on motility, viability and liveability, but not significantly different (P>0,05) on spermatozoa abnormalities. The quality of spermatozoa in T3 treatment was 45.80±1.30% motility, 54.27±4.71% viability, 6.26±0.47% abnormality and 40.00±0.00 hours survival. It can be concluded that the combination of roasted soy milk diluent (RSM) 25% + citrate (C) 75% was an effective treatment in maintaining the quality of landrace boars spermatozoa for 40 hours of storage.
