Abstract

Change is an inevitability in education, where the curriculum must serve as a dynamic roadmap guiding learners to construct knowledge actively and independently. This article examines the evolving needs of Indonesia’s educational curriculum before and after the Covid-19 pandemic through the lens of constructivism, a learning philosophy that positions students as active knowledge constructors. Employing a qualitative approach grounded in literature review and descriptive analysis, the study explores how the 2013 Curriculum, the Emergency Curriculum, and the Merdeka Curriculum have responded to shifting pedagogical demands in both face-to-face and remote learning contexts. Findings indicate that the pandemic accelerated a paradigm shift toward more flexible, student-centered, and project-based curriculum models. However, the primary challenges remain in the uneven readiness of educators and disparities in technological infrastructure. The significance of this study lies in its contribution to reinforcing the philosophical foundation for the development of adaptive curricula aligned with future educational demands. It also offers strategic recommendations for policymakers and educational practitioners. Furthermore, the study opens avenues for future research on the practical implementation of constructivist curricula across diverse settings, including teacher capacity-building and the evaluation of project-based learning effectiveness within the Merdeka Curriculum framework.

Abstract

This article investigates the relationships between two congregations, Muslims and Confucians, of two places of worship, that is, Al-Ikhlas Mosque and Tri Dharma Temple adjacent to each other in Desa Sadar Kerukunan, Ilir Kota, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan. These two places of worship together arguably form the icon of tolerance between religious communities. To ensure that a society characterized by religious and ethnic diversity is harmonious, social capital is necessary to bolster the cohesiveness of relationships between individuals and groups. This study is field research with a qualitative approach and a descriptive method. Employing Robert D. Putnam’s theory of social capital encompassing trust, norms, and networks, this study found that firstly, the deep trust of each religious community is well fostered, which is reflected in the practice of inter-religious communities helping each other. Secondly, there are social networks established and preserved by the elite of the two places of worship. Thirdly, social norms encourage all activities related to ethnicity and religious identity to be communicated clearly to all parties. Fourthly, harmony between religious communities around these two places of worship is driven by the same motive to preserve a common interest, that is, the economic aspect.

Abstract

This article focuses on strengthening santri (students) literacy by optimizing Meta AI technology to foster creativity in writing Islamic short stories at Baitul Qur’an Pontianak. The main argument presented is that integrating adaptive and personalized artificial intelligence can address the challenges of conventional learning models in pesantren (Islamic Boarding School), while simultaneously promoting motivation and higher-order thinking skills in line with the demands of the Society 5.0 era. This article is based on a Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) involving collaboration between lecturers and post-graduate students of IAIN Pontianak, who directly implemented a learning intervention using Meta AI as a creative medium. The research employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active engagement and collective social transformation. The results of the community engagement program demonstrate that the utilization of Meta AI significantly enhances santri’s creativity, productivity, and digital literacy readiness, while reinforcing the spiritual values the pesantren uphold. The significance of this article lies in its contribution to the enrichment of technology-based community service discourse within the context of traditional Islamic education. Furthermore, it is a practical and theoretical reference for similar future initiatives.Artikel ini berfokus pada penguatan literasi santri melalui optimalisasi teknologi Meta AI dalam mendorong kreativitas menulis cerpen Islami di Pondok Pesantren Baitul Qur’an Pontianak. Abstract

This research described the social construction of the belief system on the identity of the ghost Kuyang in Kalimantan. This research argues that ghost stories have constructed the ghost's identity of gender and place. The gender always represents the ghost as a woman while the place represents the Kuyang ghost as a Dayak or Malay tribe in Kalimantan. This research formulates how the Kuyang ghost story can establish a social construction of the belief system on identity in Kalimantan. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through storytelling in the community and on YouTube social media. The results of this study show that: 1) female ghost stories represent a patriarchal system for women; 2) the development of a belief system in local communities; 3) community responses through tradition and religion; and 4) social construction shapes the identity of Ghost Kuyang in Kalimantan. The development of the social construction of the belief system in the ghost of Kuyang can bring a new discourse on identity following ethnic, religious, and culture in Kalimantan.

Abstract

This article examines Hasan al-Banna's thoughts on Islamic education politics, with a focus on the integration of three main dimensions: heart, mind, and the spirit of struggle, which form the foundation of the educational system he proposed from Egypt for the world. Through the Ikhwanul Muslimin movement, which originated in Egypt, al-Banna introduced an education that unified spirituality, intellectualism, and political struggle into a cohesive whole. This study employs the Atomic Habits theory by James Clear (2019), which emphasizes small, consistent changes that lead to significant impacts, to understand how al-Banna’s ideas on Islamic education can be viewed as a process of habit formation and identity development. The qualitative approach with library research methods explores primary and secondary sources, including the works of Hasan al-Banna and contemporary literature that examines the context of Egypt and the Middle East. The analysis results show that, according to al-Banna, education is not merely the transfer of knowledge, but a process of shaping strong character, critical thinking, and an orientation towards the welfare of the ummah as well as social-political struggle. The uniqueness of this study lies in the integration of religious education, general knowledge, and politics within a framework that advocates for the unity of the Muslim ummah in the context of social-political challenges in Egypt and the Middle East. The significance of this paper provides a new perspective for building Islamic education that unites the spiritual, intellectual, and socio-political dimensions, as well as its relevance to the dynamics of education and politics in Egypt and the modern Muslim world.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has significantly influenced the management of higher education institutions, particularly in academic administration. Higher education institutions are required to adopt effective information systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service quality. STAI-PIQ West Sumatra has implemented an Academic Information System (SIAKAD) as part of its educational administration management strategy. This study aims to analyze the implementation of educational administration management through an academic information system at STAI-PIQ West Sumatra. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, documentation, and literature review. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and roles of the academic information system in educational management. The findings indicate that the implementation of SIAKAD supports integrated academic management processes, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of academic activities. The system facilitates efficient management of academic data related to students, lecturers, curriculum, scheduling, assessment, and financial administration. Furthermore, SIAKAD contributes to improved administrative efficiency, data accuracy, and managerial decision-making, thereby supporting the achievement of the institution’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives. In conclusion, the academic information system plays a crucial role in strengthening educational administration management at STAI-PIQ West Sumatra. This study recommends continuous system development, enhancement of human resource competencies, and institutional commitment to technology-based management to optimize the effectiveness of academic information systems in Islamic higher education institutions.
