Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of content differentiation in early childhood education at Medan City Medan Sekolah Penggerak. The method employed is qualitative research, utilizing purposive sampling. Interviews, observations, and documentation were conducted as data collection techniques. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification, while for data validity, source triangulation is used. The results showed that PAUD units in Medan City Sekolah Penggerak have implemented content differentiation by adjusting teaching materials based on children's readiness, interests, and learning styles. Teachers utilize various learning media and technology and provide space for children's active participation. Challenges faced by teachers include limited time, children's abilities, facilities, and teachers' skills in creating varied materials. Training, improved facilities, and collaboration between teachers are needed to optimize the implementation of content differentiation.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze teachers’ skills in providing reinforcement, both verbal and nonverbal, at RA Al-Qur’an Ulfah Padangsidimpuan. Reinforcement is one of the eight basic teaching skills which plays an important role in increasing student’s motivation, focus and positive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and documentation of two class teachers. The research result show that teachers at RA Al-Qur’an Ulfah have implemented verbal reinforcement through sentences of praise, motivation, and positive direction to students during the learning process. Meanwhile, nonverbal reinforcement is carried out through facial expressions, body movements, touch, symbols of objects of appreciation, and fun activities. The reinforcement provided is proven to be able to increase children’s enthusiasm for learning, strengthen memorization, encourage good behavior, and create a positive learning atmosphere. However, there is still a need to increase variation and consistency in providing reinforcement according to the characteristics of each child. Thus, the skill of providing appropriate and effective reinforcement is very important in supporting a meaningful and enjoyable learning process in early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in vocabulary mastery of children age 5-6 years through traditional ABC five basic games in ABA 01 Kindergarten Medan. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method in the from of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample in this study was class B Khadijah with 14 children. The tool used for data collection was an observation sheet. Before conducting hypothesis analysi using the paired sample T-test, a normality test was first conducted using the Shapiro Wilk statistical test. From the results of the hypothesis test analysis of the pretest and posttest data on children’s vocabulary mastery, the data results were 0.000. So it can be stated that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest data on the vocabulary mastery of children aged 5-6 years through the five basic ABC games at ABA 01 Medan Kindergarten.

Abstract

The problems in this study are (1) The use of the environment is very minimal in the process of helping children learn, (2) Rarely utilizing real objects in the use of learning media, (3) Carrying out outdoor activities but teachers usually only focus on the development of gross motor skills. This study aims to see the differences in naturalistic intelligence in children aged 5-6 years using the use of the school environment at Yuzai Harapan Kindergarten, Sei Kopas Village. The method used in this study is an experiment, involving 36 children as samples. The tool used for data collection is using an observation sheet. Hypothesis testing with a paired sample T-test is preceded by a normality test carried out using the Shapiro Wilk statistical technique. The findings from the analysis of the hypothesis test of pretest and posttest data on children's naturalistic abilities produced data of 0.000. The data has a lower value compared to the significance level of 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest data related to the naturalistic abilities of children aged 5-6 years through the use of the school environment at Yuzai Harapan Kindergarten, Sei Kopas Village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' understanding of mindful learning, meaningful learning, and enjoyable learning. This study used a qualitative approach with 10 teachers as subjects. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and documentation in the form of open modules. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers have varying degrees of understanding of these three learning concepts. In mindful learning, teachers understand aspects of awareness, attention, and emotional management, but have not yet outlined specific learning techniques. In meaningful learning, teachers have linked learning material to students' daily experiences, but have not yet explained them in depth and systematically. In enjoyable learning, some teachers understand learning as a fun process that actively engages students, while others still interpret it in a general way. Documentation shows that these three approaches have been discontinued in the learning process. Thus, teachers' understanding has been established, but still requires conceptual strengthening and improved implementation for optimal results.

Abstract

Meningkatnya populasi lansia di Kelurahan Bandar Selamat belum diimbangi dengan pembelajaran berbasis stimulasi kognitif, karena program lansia masih didominasi pendekatan kesehatan fisik dan metode konvensional yang kurang interaktif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengembangkan media game edukatif yang mengintegrasikan stimulasi kognitif, aktivitas rekreatif, dan interaksi sosial sebagai strategi pencegahan penurunan fungsi kognitif lansia di Sekolah Saroha Kota Medan. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) melalui observasi, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), pengembangan media, implementasi game edukatif, serta evaluasi partisipatif untuk menghasilkan pembelajaran lansia yang adaptif dan berkelanjutan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran di Sekolah Lansia Saroha sebelumnya masih didominasi metode konvensional sehingga stimulasi kognitif dan keterlibatan aktif lansia belum optimal. Kegiatan ini berhasil mengembangkan enam media game edukatif berbasis elderly-friendly, yaitu ular tangga, board game, teka-teki silang, tebak gambar, domino, dan engklek edukatif yang dirancang untuk meningkatkan memori, konsentrasi, interaksi sosial, dan partisipasi belajar lansia. Implementasi media menunjukkan bahwa lansia menjadi lebih aktif, komunikatif, antusias, dan percaya diri dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran berbasis kelompok. Selain itu, pelatihan fasilitator berhasil meningkatkan kapasitas pendamping dalam menerapkan pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif, adaptif, dan menyenangkan bagi lansia. Secara keseluruhan, media game edukatif terbukti berpotensi menjadi inovasi pembelajaran berbasis komunitas yang efektif dalam mendukung stimulasi kognitif, active aging, dan pencegahan penurunan fungsi kognitif lansia di Sekolah Lansia Saroha Kota Medan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan media pembelajaran dalam perspektif fitrah based education berdasarkan dimensi fitrah belajar dan bernalar anak di PAUD Khalilah Insan Madani. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek dua guru kelas B. Data diperoleh melalui pengamatan, percakapan, dan arsip. Kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, serta kevalidan data dicapai melalui triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi waktu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang digunakan mampu mendukung fitrah belajar dan bernalar anak melalui kegiatan mencoba, mengamati, menyentuh, bertanya, dan meniru. Media yang digunakan bersifat nyata, sederhana, dan dekat dengan pengalaman anak sehingga membantu proses belajar menjadi lebih aktif, alami, dan bermakna.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of dance extracurricular activities in early childhood education within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. Early Childhood Education (ECE) emphasizes play-based learning supported by a flexible curriculum that accommodates children's developmental needs. Extracurricular activities, particularly dance, play a significant role in fostering children's creativity, motor skills, and self-confidence. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at TK Pertiwi Medan. Data were collected through observations and interviews with teachers and the school principal to examine the planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation of dance extracurricular activities. The findings reveal that the implementation of dance extracurricular activities has been carried out effectively in practice, particularly in terms of teaching methods using demonstrations and repetitive exercises adapted to children's abilities. However, the program is not yet supported by systematic administrative management. Planning is conducted flexibly without written teaching modules, organizational structures are informal, and evaluation is carried out through direct observation without standardized assessment instruments or documentation. Despite these limitations, the program has successfully contributed to students’ achievements, as evidenced by consistent victories in dance competitions over the past four years. This indicates that practical implementation and teacher competence play a crucial role in program success, although improvements in structured planning, organization, and evaluation are still needed to optimize educational outcomes.

Abstract

Young children are those who are given the freedom to express their feelings without pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of the role-play method on the self-esteem of 5- to 6-year-old children at Kalam Kudus 2 Private Christian Kindergarten in Medan. This study is based on the phenomenon that many children are still unable to openly express their feelings, are afraid to express themselves, and tend to prioritize their friends’ feelings over their own. The method used is a quantitative approach with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design.The study population includes all 21 students in Group B. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The sample in this study consisted of 10 children. The instrument used to collect data was an observation sheet measuring self-esteem indicators, including feelings of acceptance, competence, and worthiness. Data analysis was conducted using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study indicate an effect on the children’s self-esteem inthe experimental class after receiving the role-play method treatment. The mean pretest score for the experimental class changed from 19.3 to 24.3 on the posttest, with a difference of 5 points. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.0004, which is smaller than 0.05 (p < 0.05), meaning the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the role-play method has a positive effect on the self-esteem of children aged 5–6 years because it provides them with the opportunity to express their feelings, use their imagination freely, and experience social acceptance through role-playing.
