Abstract

This study aims to implement a problem-solving method based on STEM education to address domestic waste among fifth-grade students at UPTD SPF SDN Sekarputih 1, with the ultimate goal of reducing the increasing amount of domestic waste through economic activities. The problem-solving method was chosen as an educational approach to enhance students' understanding of the benefits of carrot plants, including how to grow and utilize them to reduce organic waste. The study employs an experimental design involving fifth-grade students at UPTD SPF SDN Sekarputih 1 as research subjects. Data were collected through observations, written tests, and interviews to evaluate the efficacy of this approach in improving students' understanding and competencies. The findings suggest that the implementation of the problem-solving method based on STEM education not only enhances students' understanding of carrot plants but also improves their comprehension of domestic waste and their ability to design sustainable solutions. The implications of this study suggest that this approach can be an effective alternative in environmental education at the elementary school level, strengthening STEM skills while teaching students to address environmental challenges.

Abstract

Character has a meaning like universal human nature where it adheres to the life factors of each individual. Character is like spiritual nature, morals or manners, motivation, and skills. This research focuses on the role of teachers in forming the character of class student V at SDN Bagik Krongkong. It aims to analyze the role of teachers in forming the character of class V students, as well as the inhibiting factors and supporting factors in forming the character of class V students at SDN Bagik Krongkong. The teacher's role, which is the research's focus, is as an educator, demonstrator, class manager, motivator, and evaluator. The character values that are the focus of the research are religion, honesty, discipline, independence, social caring, and responsibility. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation with research subjects consisting of fifth-grade teachers and students. The data analysis stages are data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Testing the validity of the data in this study used triangulation techniques. The results of the research show that: (1) The role of teachers in forming the character of class V students at SDN Bagik Krongkong is carried out with several teacher roles, namely teacher as educator, teacher as demonstrator, teacher as class manager, teacher as motivator and teacher as evaluator, (2) Supporting factors for the role of teachers in forming the character of class V students at SDN Bagik Krongkong are the family environment and facilities and infrastructure, while factors inhibiting the role of teachers in forming the character of class V students at SDN Bagik Krongkong include the family environment and teachers.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the Influence of Leadership and Motivation on the Work Performance of New Group Leaders at PT Pamapersada Nusantara through Work Engagement. The sampling method used a probability sampling approach with a saturated sampling technique involving 220 respondents. Descriptive statistical methods were employed to analyze the data using the SmartPLS program. The results of this research indicate that: 1) Leadership has an impact on Work Performance. 2) Motivation does not affect Work Performance. 3) Leadership affects Work Engagement. 4) Motivation affects Work Engagement. 5) Work Engagement influences Work Performance. 6) Work Engagement mediates the relationship between Leadership and Work Performance. 7) Work Engagement mediates the impact of Motivation on the Work Performance of New Group Leaders at PAMA.

Abstract

In the machining process, knowledge of the tool and workpiece is required to achieve maximum results between quality and productivity. Tool wear parameters are very important to know because the process of changing or sharpening the tool can be predicted. One thing that influences the tool wear rate is the friction force between the tool and the workpiece. This frictional force will produce vibrations and heat energy, causing the chisel grains to erode so that they will experience wear within certain standards. This research aims to analyze the wear value of carbide-type tool edges in the ST41 material turning process based on the friction force that occurs between the tool and the workpiece. Then, from the wear value, the recommended cutting speed is. The method used is simulation-based research using ANSYS software, especially ANSYS Mechanical, by entering predetermined parameters, including diameter and spindle rotation. From the simulation results, the total deformation of workpieces with diameters of 25 mm, 35 mm and 45 mm is 0.363 μm, 0.155 μm and 0.152 μm, respectively. It can be concluded from the simulation results that the largest total deformation is at a diameter of 25 mm.

Abstract

Sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai isu-isu kritis seperti bullying, penyalah gunaan narkoba, dan merokok di kalangan remaja. Ketiga masalah ini sering kali saling berkaitan dengan dampak serius pada Kesehatan mental dan fisik generasi muda. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah untuk bisa meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa dalam pencegahan bulliying di sekolah sehingga meningkatkan kesehatan anak, memberikan pendidikan kesehatan tentang stop merokok dikalangan remaja dan, mengedukasi sesama terkait bahaya narkoba dan juga dampak yang nantinya akan didapatkan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada siswa-siswi SDN 1 Cepokomulyo dan SDN 2 Cepokomulyo kelas 6 guna memberikan bekal untuk jenjang selanjutnya. Sosialisasi dilaksanakan melalui pemutaran powerpoint, ceramah, tanya jawab, dan diskusi bersama.

Abstract

AbstractStunting is still a major problem in developing countries, including Indonesia. Stunting will have an impact on brain development and children's thinking skills and trigger various serious diseases. Education is one of the efforts that can be done in reducing the incidence of stunting. Education can play a role in increasing understanding and application of stunting prevention. The education conducted on 35 people of Jam'iyah Aisyiyah Kudus used lecture and discussion techniques as well as evaluation instruments consisting of 10 questionnaires on stunting conducted before and after education. The evaluation results after education showed 42.8% of the majority of of knowledge was high. These results show the importance of education about stunting needs to be encouraged at community meetings.     Keywords: education, application, stunting reduction, knowledge

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) is an empirical discipline that studies natural phenomena; however, many of the concepts within it are abstract, making them challenging for students to understand. This necessitates the implementation of innovative learning strategies that can facilitate a more concrete bridging of conceptual understanding. One potential solution involves incorporating Virtual Reality (VR) technology into the scientific learning process. The objective of this study is: (1) to analyze the change of students' conceptual understandings before and after the use of immersive VR, and (2) to identify  the food chain concepts students comprehend during learning with VR. The present study employed an exploratory, multi-case study approach, involving a total of 15 junior high school students. The data were collected through a pre-test, semi-structured interviews, and a post-test. The analysis was conducted qualitatively by comparing changes in students' mastery of five concepts: biotic-abiotic components (A), trophic level interactions (B), the role of components in energy flow (C), the influence of food chain interactions on ecosystems (D), and the role of decomposers (E). The findings of the study suggest two primary conclusions. Firstly, there is a notable enhancement in students' comprehension of the food chain concept following the implementation of VR-based learning. Secondly, the utilization of VR media in educational settings provides a substantial enhancement in students' understanding, particularly in the context of abstract concepts related to food chains. These findings suggest that VR can serve as an effective medium for science education, with the potential to enhance conceptual understanding, mitigate misconceptions, and enrich students' learning experiences.   ABSTRAK Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) mempelajari fenomena alam secara faktual, namun banyak konsep yang bersifat abstrak sehingga sulit dipahami oleh siswa. Hal ini memerlukan strategi pembelajaran inovatif yang mampu menjembatani pemahaman konseptual secara lebih konkret. Salah satu alternatif adalah mengintegrasikan teknologi Virtual Reality (VR) dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) untuk menganalisis perubahan penguasaan konsep siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan VR, dan (2) mengidentifikasi konsep apa saja yang muncul ketika siswa belajar menggunakan VR tentang rantai makanan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan exploratory multi-case study dengan melibatkan 15 siswa SMP. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan tahapan berikut: tes pengetahuan awal, penggunaan VR, dan tes pengetahuan akhir; tes awal dan akhir dilakukan secara lisan dan siswa menjawab secara verbal. Analisis dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan membandingkan perubahan penguasaan siswa pada lima konsep, yaitu komponen biotik-abiotik (A), interaksi tingkat trofik (B), peran komponen dalam aliran energi (C), pengaruh interaksi rantai makanan terhadap ekosistem (D), dan peran pengurai (E). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) terdapat peningkatan secara kualitatif penguasaan konsep rantai makanan siswa setelah pembelajaran berbasis VR dan 2) beberapa konsep rantai makanan dapat siswa pelajarai ketika menggunakan VR, khususnya pada konsep-konsep rantai makanan yang abstrak. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa VR dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran IPA yang dapat mengembangkan pemahaman konsep siswa tentang rantai makanan.

Abstract

Pendidikan abad ke-21 menekankan pengembangan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), seperti analisis, evaluasi, dan membuat. Namun, penguasaan HOTS siswa, khususnya pada level kognitif C4–C6, masih rendah. Salah satu kendalanya adalah kesulitan memahami materi abstrak, seperti sistem pencernaan manusia dalam pelajaran IPA. Augmented reality (AR) menjadi solusi inovatif dengan visualisasi objek 3D yang realistis, sehingga memperkaya pengalaman belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan e-modul berbasis diagram AR interaktif untuk meningkatkan HOTS siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE, yang meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Validasi dilakukan oleh dosen dan guru, sedangkan uji coba dilakukan pada siswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa e-modul ini memiliki tingkat validitas sangat tinggi (92%), kepraktisan sangat baik (96%), dan efektivitas sedang dalam meningkatkan HOTS, dengan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,66. Respon siswa juga sangat positif (83,125%). Dengan demikian, e-modul berbasis diagram AR interaktif ini dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA, serta layak diimplementasikan di sekolah guna mendukung peningkatan HOTS siswa.
