Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning model in improving social skills for class IV students in the science and science subject My Indonesia Rich Culture Material at SDN 80/1 Muara Bulian. Based on the results of initial research observations, it was found that at SDN 80/1 Muara Bulian in Class IV, the social skills possessed by students were still low. It was seen that there was a lack of collaboration or cooperation between students and there were still many students who used rude language towards their friends. Class Action Research (PTK) consists of 2 cycles with each cycle having 2 meetings where data is taken from the teacher's implementation observation sheet in implementing the Discovery Learning learning model and the student's social skills observation sheet. This research was carried out in 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research results show that the application of the Discovery Learning model in science learning has resulted in a significant increase in students' social skills. Initially, social skills were at the level of 56.42% in the first cycle, but increased to 76.22% in the second cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in science and science learning has succeeded in improving the social skills of class IV elementary school students.

Abstract

The crucial role of shadow teachers is often fraught with significant challenges. High workloads, constant demands to adapt to the diverse needs of children with special needs, lack of adequate training, and limited institutional support can trigger burnout. Therefore, concrete strategies are needed to address this issue. The aim of this study is to describe strategies for overcoming burnout in substitute teachers in inclusive elementary schools in Indonesia. Participants in this study were shadow teachers with a minimum of 3 years of work experience, considering that they would provide insight into dealing with children with special needs in inclusive classes during the daily teaching process. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research type. Broadly speaking, there are three main techniques in data collection: interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show various strategies used by teachers in handling student tantrums, namely Seeking Social Support, Acceptance and Positive Values (Emotionally Focused Coping), Managing Break Time and Self-Calming, Self-Development and Introspection, and Conducting Diversion Activities (Escape Avoidance). The findings suggest that mentor teachers do not rely on a single strategy but instead build a coping ecosystem that connects the professional realm (team discussions, self-evaluation) with the domestic/personal realm (family, diversional activities). The implications of this research suggest that inclusive teacher resilience is formed when the boundaries between work support and family support converge positively.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop students' creativity through a project of making traditional house miniatures from ice cream sticks as part of the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) project in grade VI at SDN 97/IV, Jambi City. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that project-based learning is effective in enhancing students' creativity, measured through indicators such as curiosity, self-confidence, perseverance, and imagination. This project also supports the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile elements, namely creativity, mutual cooperation, and global diversity. Students actively engage in designing and completing the traditional house miniatures by creatively overcoming resource limitations, while drawing inspiration from Indonesia's cultural diversity. Thus, this project not only enhances creative thinking skills but also strengthens students' character in line with the goals of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Character education plays a central role in Indonesia's national education system, yet holistic approaches that integrate values through direct, nature-based experiences remain underexplored. This study aims to analyze how the Belajar Bersama Alam (Learning with Nature) program at two nature-based schools in Jambi Province strengthens character education holistically. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document review involving 12 participants from Sekolah Alam Muaro Bungo and Madrasah Alam Insan Rabbani Sungai Penuh. Purposive sampling was applied to select school principals, classroom teachers, students, and parents. Data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña's interactive model, with triangulation to ensure validity. Results indicate that the program effectively develops all four dimensions of Ki Hadjar Dewantara's character framework, Olah Hati, Olah Pikir, Olah Rasa, and Olah Raga, supported by teacher exemplary conduct, a character curriculum comprising 70% Akhlakul Karimah content, and active school-family-community partnerships. This study contributes an empirical model of contextual, nature-based character education in Indonesia, demonstrating that academic achievement and character development can be achieved synergistically.
