Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pada kemampuan komunikasi matematika mahasiswa yang masih rendah, mahasiswa cenderung mengalami kesulitan dalam mengkomunikasikan persoalan matematika dalam bentuk essay atau soal cerita ke dalam bentuk kalimat matematika sehingga mahasiswa cenderung tidak bisa menyelesaikan soal tersebut. Solusi dalam permasalahan ini bisa dilakukan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran yang tepat, model pembelajaran Situation Based Learning menjadi solusi yang dilakukan peneliti untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika karena model ini menekankan pada proses pembelajaran yang membuat mahasiswa belajar dengan cara berpikir berdasarkan situasi atau kondisi dari soal yang diberikan. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 6 program studi pendidikan matematika Universitas Indraprasta PGRI Tahun Ajaran 2019/2020. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa kelas R5C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas R5D sebagai kelas kontrol yang dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling berjumlah 50 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrument tes berupa soal essay berjumlah 10 soal yang telah melalui tahap validasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t. Penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan model pembelajaran Situation based learning terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematika. ABSTRACTCommunicating mathematical problems in the form of essays or story problems into mathematical sentence form so that students tend not to be able to solve these problems. The solution to this problem can be done by applying the right learning model, the Situation-Based Learning model becomes the solution made by researchers to improve mathematical communication skills because this model emphasizes the learning process that makes students learn by thinking based on the situation or condition of the given problem. The population of this study was all 5-semester students of the Mathematics Education Indraprasta University PGRI University Academic Year 2019/2020. The sample of this study was R5C class students as an experimental class and R5D class as a control class selected by a simple random sampling technique totaling 50 students. The instrument used in this study was a test instrument in the form of essay questions totaling 10 questions that had passed the validation stage. Analysis of the data in this study used the t-test. Research shows that there is a significant influence on the application of the Situation based learning model to mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

Ineffective learning during Covid-19 can be a major cause of learning loss. Through polytomous item response theory analysis, this study seeks to identify learning loss of fractions and investigate the reliability and validity of the DINA model diagnostic test. This study involved 177 Grade 8 students from six junior high schools in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, to obtain information about the validity and reliability of the diagnostic test and learning loss of fraction due to Covid-19. The research was conducted by designing diagnostic test, expert validation, and empirical testing. Multiple choice problems with polytomous options were developed. This study produced 20 valid problems based on the level of item discriminant, item difficulty, and slip and guess, with a reliability of 0.899. This study revealed that learning loss was experienced by 62 students from low-level junior high schools (100%), 51 students from middle-level junior high schools (98%), and 54 students from high-level junior high schools (85.7%). It can be said that low-level schools have the highest percentage of students with learning loss. It is recommended that future studies evaluate the effectiveness of diagnostic tests in identifying learning weaknesses in mathematics before semester exams using the items generated in this study.

Abstract

Current curriculum developments place greater emphasis on developing learning models and methods that can accommodate students' differences in learning styles and abilities. In the independent curriculum, this concept is better known as differentiated learning. One concept that can facilitate differentiated learning in the context of assessment is Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing assessment models in PAI learning in the UDL context. The findings of this research indicate that the assessment model that is widely applied to PAI learning is the authentic assessment model. Based on educational level, this authentic assessment model is more widely applied at the junior secondary education level (SMP/MTs). Based on the results of the analysis of articles that met the inclusion criteria, no evidence was found regarding the effectiveness of its implementation which had an impact on PAI learning processes and outcomes. The findings of this research can be used as an empirical basis for conducting research that focuses on the influence of implementing assessment models on PAI learning processes and outcomes.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penggunaan media sosial dalam konteks pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti telah menjadi topik yang semakin relevan dan penting dalam era digital saat ini. Media sosial memberikan platform yang memungkinkan siswa dan guru untuk berbagi sumber daya, berdiskusi, dan berkolaborasi dalam pemahaman dan praktik Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti. Media sosial juga memungkinkan penggunaan berbagai sumber daya seperti video, teks, gambar, dan artikel terkait yang dapat memperkaya pembelajaran. Namun, penggunaan media sosial dalam konteks pendidikan juga menimbulkan sejumlah tantangan seperti risiko privasi, masalah keamanan, dan pengawasan yang diperlukan untuk menjaga lingkungan pembelajaran yang aman. Dalam kesimpulannya, penggunaan media sosial dalam pembelajaran kolaboratif mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti dapat membantu siswa mengembangkan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang nilai-nilai agama dan etika, serta meningkatkan perilaku moral. Namun, penggunaan media sosial perlu diintegrasikan dengan bijak dan dengan perhatian terhadap isu-isu keamanan dan privasi. Abstract

Students experienced difficulty in studying the topic of fraction during the covid-19 pandemic resulted in incomplete learning so remedial learning was necessary. So far, remedial learning has not been optimally implemented. Therefore, to achieve optimal remedial learning objectives, e-learning based remedial learning is needed. The aims of this study were 1) to find out the effect of e-learning-based remedial learning on the topic of fraction on learning outcomes in junior high schools in Banda Aceh, 2) to examine the improvement in student learning outcomes through e-learning based remedial learning on the topic of fraction on learning outcomes in junior high schools in Banda Aceh. This experimental study used quantitative approach. This study was designed following the pre-experimental design using one-group pretest-posttest. One-group pretest-posttest is a design that includes a pretest followed by treatment and a posttest for one group. The population of this study was all eighth grade students in Banda Aceh. The sample was randomly selected. They were the eighth grade students at four junior high schools whose pretest scores had not yet reached the KKM score of 60. The instruments used were diagnostic test questions and remedial questions on the topic of fraction. Diagnostic and remedial test results data were analyzed with SPSS. The results shows that there is a significant effect of e-learning based remedial learning on the topic of fraction on learning outcomes in junior high schools in Banda Aceh, 2) e-learning based remedial learning on the topic of fraction improves the students’ learning outcomes. The implication of this research is that teachers can implement the remedial learning based on e-learning on other learning topics, so that they has alternative solutions to the problem of implementing remedial learning outside of mathematics learning.

Abstract

This research aimed to formulate a model of mathematical learning difficulties for children with dyscalculia to help children with dyscalculia overcome mathematics problems at school. This research is important to carry out considering that dyscalculia is a serious problem experienced by many students throughout the world. The SDTA model was built by analogizing the STIR model to non-communicable diseases. In this study, of 1247 students who conducted a series of tests (screening tests), there were 121 students, or 9.7% were initially identified as having dyscalculia. Furthermore, observations were carried out and confirmation was carried out with parents and teachers so that 119 students tested positive for dyscalculia. The research results showed that after intervention through treatment by the teacher, dyscalculia students experienced a very drastic decrease, especially in the material on recognizing and ordering numbers. Likewise, the results of model simulations on multiplication operation material illustrated the decline in students with dyscalculia. Specifically for division operations, the treatment process took relatively longer. Therefore, the simulation results in the SDTA model reflected students who are identified as having dyscalculia, along with planned intervention/ treatment, students could pass through the mathematics learning phase successfully.

Abstract

[English]: Students' mathematical problem-solving skills and learning engagement remain below expectations at a public junior high school in Kuala Batee, Aceh, Indonesia. This study examines the effectiveness of the IBME approach integrated with Mathigon in enhancing students' mathematical problem-solving abilities and learning engagement, compared to the traditional IBME approach without Mathigon, with a specific focus on Cartesian coordinates. This study employed a quantitative experimental approach using pre-test and post-test control group design. The sample, consisting of 42 Grade 8 junior high school students, was selected through a total sampling technique. Data was collected through tests and questionnaires and analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, n-gain tests, and t-tests. The results demonstrate that the IBME approach with Mathigon significantly improves students' mathematical problem-solving skills and learning engagement compared to the traditional IBME approach without Mathigon. These findings suggest that the IBME approach, assisted by Mathigon, offers a practical and effective strategy for educators in designing mathematics instruction in schools. [Bahasa]: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan keterlibatan belajar siswa pada salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Kuala Batee, Aceh, Indonesia, masih belum maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan keterlibatan belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Inquiry-based Mathematics Education (IBME) berbantuan dan tanpa berbantuan Mathigon pada materi koordinat Cartesius. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pre-test dan post-test control group design. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan teknik total sampling yang berjumlah 42 siswa kelas 8 SMP. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan angket, dan dianalisis melalui uji normalitas dan homogenitas, uji n-gain, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan keterlibatan belajar siswa melalui pendekatan IBME berbantuan Mathigon lebih baik daripada pembelajaran tanpa berbantuan Mathigon pada materi koordinat Cartesius. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, pendekatan IBME dapat menjadi salah satu opsi bagi guru dalam merancang pembelajaran matematika di sekolah.

Abstract

The professional development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is crucial to enhancing the quality of PAI learning in schools. One effective means to support their professional growth is through the utilization of technology as a learning medium and information source. This article aims to explore the use of technology by PAI teachers in their professional development, focusing on three key aspects: (1) The Importance of Integrating Technology in Teacher Professionalism; (2) Types and Functions of Technology Used by PAI Teachers; (3) Challenges Encountered by PAI Teachers in Advancing Professionalism through Technology. The research methodology used the qualitative method with the literature review approach, encompassing data collection and analysis from diverse sources such as journals, books, reports, and websites. The findings reveal that PAI teachers in Indonesia employ various technologies, including computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, internet connectivity, social media platforms, applications, and software, for multiple purposes like information retrieval, communication, collaboration, content creation, presentation, and assessment of learning. The use of technology among PAI teachers yields several advantages, including the enhancement of knowledge, skills, motivation, creativity, networking opportunities, and learning resources. However, they face challenges related to limited infrastructure, access, costs, and support. Moreover, there's a lack of readiness, competence, and awareness regarding ethics and security among these educators. PAI teachers encounter difficulties, obstacles, and risks such as network disruptions, viruses, malware, spam, phishing, hacking, cyberbullying, and plagiarism. The challenges of utilizing technology for teacher professional development encompass skills, attitudes, infrastructure, and ethical considerations. Therefore, PAI teachers must possess adequate competence and readiness to integrate technology into their professional development.

Abstract

Students' failure to grasp mathematical concepts can impede their mastery of learning standards, necessitating remedial efforts often constrained by time. Video-based remedial learning emerges as an innovative solution to enhance learning effectiveness. This study assessed the improvement in student outcomes following video-based remedial learning. Using an experimental pretest-posttest design, the study involved 100 Year 11 and 12 students from a public high school in Sukamakmur, Aceh Besar, Indonesia. Data analysis, via N-Gain score and t-tests, revealed three key findings: (1) a notable improvement in student outcomes after video-based remedial learning on trigonometric comparisons, (2) a greater enhancement in science classes compared to social studies classes, and (3) a higher increase in Year 12 compared to Year 11. The results affirm that video-based remedial learning positively impacts students' understanding of trigonometric functions
