Abstract

Living Qur'an is a variety of forms and models of reception practices and community responses in treating and interacting with Qur'an in the midst of community life. The purpose study is to describe how the history and practice of reading the surah Ar Rahman in the Al Manshur Islamic Boarding School Popongan Klaten and to find the meaning tradition of reading the Surah Ar Rahman for those who implement them include caregivers, administrators, and students. To find out more details, the writer uses qualitative research methods to understand what phenomena experienced by research subjects by describing in the form of written or oral words from the implementation of the tradition of reading the surah Ar Rahman. For the method of data collection techniques, the authors use interviews, notes, and documentation. The tradition of reciting surah Ar Rahman has been started since the old generation's predecessor, in 1978. For the way the recitation is done in a quiet voice, it must be polite and tawadlu'. The meaning of reciting surah Ar Rahman is to get syafa'at, facilitate all matters, get sustenance, and always get the blessing of Allah.

Abstract

K.H. Ahmad Rifa’I is one of the scholars in Indonesia who until now has loyal followers and spreads in various regions. One of the da'wah that he taught was to write religious books. The manuscript is still used by the congregation. One of the storage areas for manuscripts by K.H. Ahmad Rifa’i is in Wonosobo, at the house of K.H. Amin Ridlo (Rifa’iyah figure). Some of the manuscripts are thought to have not been disclosed. This study aims to reveal the manuscripts of K.H. Ahmad Rifa’i Kalisalak in Wonosobo kept by K.H. Amen Ridlo. This qualitative descriptive research was carried out with inventory and transmedia activities of the manuscript. Based on the data collection, there were 14 manuscripts by K.H. Ahmad Rifa’i and also the work of his students that have been successfully transferred to the media. These manuscripts contain various titles and themes, and some of them are in accordance with the inventory list that has been compiled by the Rifa’iyah organization.

Abstract

Rural libraries have an essential role in providing information services for rural communities. The heterogeneity of rural communities from social, economic, and religious aspects is the basis for the importance of social inclusion-based library services. This study uses qualitative methods to describe the implementation of an inclusion-based village Perpustakaan Muda Bhakti (Permubha) Ngablak Village, Srumbung District, Magelang Regency and its role in the social, economic, and religious life of the village community. Through a SWOT analysis, this study resulted in several research findings. First, three things become Permubha's strengths in providing services: information disclosure and access policies, communication in services, and circulation of library facilities. Second, Permubha's weakness is the unavailability of a computer-based library catalog. Third, the opportunities/opportunities that exist in Permubha are descriptive and normative officer ethics, responsibility in providing services, the role of citizen donations, and infrastructure. Fourth, Permubha has several challenges ahead in terms of service evaluation, increasing the competence and qualifications of officers, and increasing responsibilities. Fifth, in addition to library services, Permubha plays a role in social, economic, and religious activities through programs that can be participated in by the Ngablak Village community, such as the salak library program, Suluh Libraries, satellite reading, and commemoration of Islamic holidays. Perpustakaan desa memiliki peran penting dalam memberikan layanan informasi bagi masyarakat desa. Heterogenitas masyarakat desa dari aspek sosial, ekonomi, dan agama menjadi dasar pentingnya layanan perpustakaan berbasis inklusi sosial. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penyelenggaraan perpustakaan desa berbasis inklusi pada Perpustakaan Muda Bhakti, (Permubha) Desa Ngablak Kecamatan Srumbung Kabupaten Magelang serta perannya terhadap kehidupan sosial, ekonomi, dan keagamaan masyarakat desa. Melalui analisis SWOT, penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa temuan penelitian. Pertama, ada tiga hal yang menjadi kekuatan Permubha dalam memberikan layanan, yaitu keterbukaan informasi dan kebijakan akses, komunikasi dalam layanan, dan sirkulasi sarana perpustakaan. Kedua, kelemahan yang dimiliki Permubha adalah belum tersedianya katalog pustaka berbasis komputer. Ketiga, peluang/kesempatan yang ada di Permubha adalah adanya etika petugas secara deskriptif dan normatif, tanggungjawab dalam memberikan layanan, adanya peran donasi warga, dan sarana prasarana. Keempat, Permubha memiliki beberapa tantangan ke depan dalam hal evaluasi layanan, peningkatan kompetensi dan kualifikasi petugas, dan peningkatan tanggung jawab. Kelima, selain layanan pustaka, Permubha berperan dalam kegiatan sosial, ekonomi, dan keagamaan melalui program-program dapat diikuti oleh masyarakat Desa Ngablak, seperti program salak pustaka, suluh pustaka, satelit baca, dan peringatan PHBI.

Abstract

Abstract Since long time ago, pondok pesantren (islamic boarding school) has been considered as a moderate institution. It also gives priority to peaceful ways in dealing with conflict. Unfortunately, such known attitude is now being strongly questioned due to some vestedinterests found in the pesantren community. The various motives in religions, politics,economics, social, etc among the people lead pesantren to be vulnerable to conflict. Using qualitative method, this article intended to explore the mindset, characters, and attitudesof the people in pesantren in dealing with various “ikhtilaf” (disputes) that later used as means to portray peace cultures in the pesantren. The findings of the research showed that both pesantrens (Nurul Ummah and Ar-Romli) had never been in serious externalconflict. Nevertheles, they had applied the principles of peace cultures well.Keywords: pesantren, ikhtilaf, peace culture, Pesantren Nurul Ummah, Pesantren ArRomli AbstrakPondok pesantren awalnya dianggap sebagai lembaga Islam yang moderat dan kental dengan tradisi damai dalam menghadapi berbagai bentuk perbedaan. Saat ini sikapmoderat pondok pesantren mulai dipertanyakan. Ditemukan fakta adanya pamrih politik, ekonomi, dan sosial dalam komunitas pondok pesantren yang menyebabkannyamenjadi tidak imun konflik. Penelitian ini dengan pendekatan kualitatif bermaksud mengeksplorasi kembali pola pikir, pandangan, karakter, dan sikap pengasuh atau santri pesantren dalam menghadapi “ikhtilaf” baik dalam paham keagamaan, politik, maupun budaya. Hasil eksplorasi digunakan untuk mengkonstruksi ada tidaknyanilai-nilai atau budaya “damai” yang tumbuh di pesantren baik dari sisi sistem, proses, maupun instrumen. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua pondok pesantren (Nurul Ummah dan Ar-Romli Yogyakarta) belum pernah mengalami konflik ekstern yang membutuhkan penanganan mendalam. Meskipun demikian, kedua pondok pesantren ini sudah mengaplikasikan prinsip-prinsip budaya damai dan menghadapi ikhtilaf dengan bijak.Kata kunci: pesantren, ikhtilaf, budaya damai, Pesantren Nurul Ummah, Pesantren Ar-Romli

Abstract

There are abundant Javanese manuscripts in Indonesia. One of the interesting Javanese manuscripts which was reviewed in this paper is Serat Wasitawala. This serat was written in a genre of piwulang. It contains character values that are expected to be the source of the curriculum enrichment for the 2013 national curriculum (Kurtilas) that puts the values of the characters as a priority. Using philology methods and hermeneutical approach, this article reveals content of the text and educational values in Serat Wasitawala, along with the context of writing and its relevance to nowadays education. Serat Wasitawala contains educational values that could represent the concept of Islamic education of Java in the past was written by Mas Demang Warsapradongga. Serat Wasitawala in general was a form of life doctrines both related to God as well as to human beings. The values of character education reflected in it are as follows; wondering, love science, thinking logically, critical, creative, and innovative; religious; honest; responsible; disciplined, hard working, confident boundaries; polite; nationalist; and appreciating diversity. The issues of education that are integral and related with nowadays context include character education/morals, professional teachers, and educational philosophy aimed at seeking perfection of life.

Abstract

There were still many “Ulama Nusantara” who have scientific roles during their period with Syaikhona Kholil Bangkalan or K.H. Hasyim Asyari but were not exposed or studied much. One of those scholars who hasn’t been widely known yet is Kiai Sholeh Kuningan Blitar, who produced The“Risalah Aqaid” book. This qualitative study, which used the character studies method and critical discourse analysis, tries to reintroduce Kiai Sholeh figures and his works. There are two important findings from this study. First, Kiai Sholeh Kuningan (1846-1948 AD) was one of the ulama in Blitar who became a referral person in studying Tauhid. He lived in the same era and related to Kiai Kholil, Kiai Sholeh Darat, K.H. Hasyim Asyari, and some other ulama. Based on the lineage, his father and grandfather were also referral persons in Islam matter, and he was the fifth descendant of Kiai Nur Iman Mlangi Yogyakarta. Second, Kiai Sholeh’s works: “Risalah Aqaid Litauhid” can be considered as the development version of “Kitab Hasyiyah Ummul Barahin” because it was added more explanation from Mbah Sholeh views. This works, which was written in Arabic and Javanese Pegon, is still utilized as discussion material by his descendant and his santri/students until now. Keyword: Tauhid, Akaid, Ummul Barahin.   Terdapat banyak tokoh Ulama Nusantara yang semasa dengan Syaikhona Kholil dan K.H. Hasyim Asyari dan berperan besar dalam keilmuan, tetapi belum dikenal secara luas. Salah satu dari tokoh ini adalah Kiai Sholeh Kuningan Blitar yang mewariskan karya ‘Risalah Aqaid’. Secara kualitatif, kajian yang memanfaatkan metode studi tokoh dan analisis wacana kritis ini berupaya mengenalkan kembali figur sang tokoh berikut karyanya. Dua hal utama yang didapat dari kajian ini adalah: Pertama, Kiai Sholeh Kuningan (1846-1948 M) merupakan salah satu kiai di Blitar yang dijadikan rujukan bidang tauhid pada masanya. Ia semasa dan berhubungan dengan Kiai Kholil, Kiai Sholeh Darat, K.H. Hasyim Asyari, dan beberapa tokoh lainnya. Secara nasab, ayah dan kakeknya juga merupakan rujukan keilmuan pada masanya, selain ia juga keturunan kelima Kiai Nur Iman Mlangi Yogyakarta. Kedua, karya Kiai Sholeh ‘Risalah Aqaid Litauhid’ dari segi isinya dapat dianggap sebagai pengembangan dari kitab Hasyiyah Ummul Barahin yang ditambah pula dengan beberapa penjelasan versi Kiai Sholeh. Kitab yang ditulis dalam bahasa Arab dan Jawa Pegon ini masih terus hidup sebagai bahan kajian musyawarah maupun kajian kitab oleh ahli waris dan generasi murid-muridnya. Abstract

Online media undermines the authority of religious preachers because many online media users feel obligated to do da'wah (preaching) even though they do not have the capacity for religious knowledge. Online media provides easy facilities for sharing with many people and groups with one click. The distribution of this religious content such as writing, images or videos is done on various online media platforms including the WhatsApp group (WAG) often without considering the suitability of the content being shared, the audience or WAG members, and the purpose of establishing a WAG. This study intends to reveal the practice of sharing religious content in WAG. This study used a quantitative approach, i.e. the poll method conducted on res- respondents with the criteria of having a religious background, namely employees of the Ministry of Religion and students or alumni of Islamic religious colleges (PTAI) in Semarang City and its surroundings. The re- results of this study show that the religious contents (56.6%) mostly shared on WAG are related to the Koran and hadith. The groups that share the most religious content are organizational groups (54.2%) and family groups (41.6%). Respondents also assess that more than half (51.2%) of the distributors of this material in their WAG do not match their competence in the field of religion. In addition, the distribution of religious content in WAG neither includes authors (creators), namely 63.3%, nor includes references, namely 60.2%. This finding shows that there is a phenomenon of misplaced da'wah in the WhatsApp group, which indicates a deviation in the principle of preaching.

Abstract

Salah satu dampak pandemi covid adalah minimnya intensitas tatap muka pembelajaran. Di tengah tuntutan siswa aktif belajar dari berbagai sumber, novel biografi merupakan salah satu sumber belajar yang cukup relevan sebagai sarana transfer keilmuan. Novel Sang Pencerah yang menceritakan biografi tokoh K.H. Ahmad Dahlan belum digali pada aspek konsep rahmatan lil alamin yang sedang digalakkan untuk dikuatkan di kalangan muslim Indonesia. Memanfaatkan metode hermenutika Schleiermacher dan Gadamer, kajian ini berupaya menjawab dua permasalahan utama: rumusan konsep rahmatan lil alamin dalam novel dan relevansinya dengan konteks pendidikan Islam saat ini. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keteladanan konsep rahmat yang dicontohkan oleh sang tokoh jika dipadatkan maka membahas empat hal: bersosialisasi, menebar cinta kasih, belajar, dan mengajar yang masing-masing terjabarkan dalam indikator atau kata kunci yang diceritakan sepanjang teks. Konsep pembelajaran dan dakwah rahmatan lil alamin yang diterapkan dan dicontohkan oleh tokoh secara umum sangat relevan dengan konteks pendidikan Islam saat ini, meskipun tidak kesemuanya harus diadopsi.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPertumbuhan masjid bertambah dari tahun ke tahun. Pemerintah pada tahun 2014 telah menetapkan syarat-syarat minimal pengelolaan masjid sesuai tipologinya yaitu dari tingkat pusat hingga tingkat desa. Di antara fungsi masjid yang disarankan pemerintah selain menjalankan kepentingan ibadah ritual adalah menjadi sarana ibadah sosial di bidang ekonomi, pendidikan, sosial budaya, dan lainnya. Penelitian ini dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif mengungkap persepsi masyarakat terhadap variabel X (pengelolaan masjid) (jami di tingkat desa/kelurahan) dan variabel Y (pemberdayaannya umat) serta mengukur besaran pengaruhnya di Kab. Ponorogo dan Kab. Bojonegoro. Persepsi masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan masjid di kedua Kabupaten secara umum dapat dikatakan sudah baik demikian pula pada pemberdayaan umat. Hasil data memperlihatkan bahwa persepsi masyarakat terhadap dua variabel di Ponorogo lebih baik dari Bojonegoro meskipun hanya berselisih 2% dan 10%.  Hasil pengukuran pengaruh (regresi) pengelolaan masjid terhadap pemberdayaan umat di kedua Kabupaten menyatakan bahwa korelasi kedua variabel cukup kuat. Besaran pengaruh pengelolaan masjid terhadap pemberdayaan umat sebesar 53% untuk Ponorogo dan 54% untuk Bojonegoro. Catatan yang ditemukan dari penelitian adalah masih adanya kelemahan pada aspek pengorganisasian dan pelaksanaan dalam variabel pengelolaan masjid, serta aspek pengorganisasian lokal masyarakat pada pemberdayaan umat. Secara umum, masjid dinilai masih kurang dalam memperhatikan pemberdayaan ekonomi jamaah serta kajian untuk remaja.Kata Kunci: pengelolaan masjid, pemberdayaan umat, pengaruh, persepsi

Abstract

Indonesia's education is heavily focusing on developing students' good characters. Character values can be explored from the legacy of the previous generations through old scriptures. Of many genres of Javanese scriptures containing character values are the wulang scripts, such as Suluk Candra, written by Prince Wijil Kadilangu  and stored  in  Museum Rekso Pustaka Mangkunegaran Library. This article explores the character values depicted by  the  manuscript  and  contextualizes  them  with  today's  education.  The present study employs the principles of philology and the interpretation of texts. The working principle of philology aims to produce a text edition, while interpretation aims to analyze the content of the text. It is found that Suluk Candra is a script containing Islamic values, teaching at least four ethics that can be contextualized with the world of education in the current 4.0 era. On the ethical values, there are ethics to the king/ leader/ state, ethics to teachers, ethics to fellow human beings, and ethics to oneself. Besides, there are also values of character education in Suluk Candra. Those character values are relevant to the present day, including the love of science, logical thinking, critical, creativity, innovation, religiosity, honesty, and nationalism.
