Abstract

Sleman Regency does not have a landfill after the issuance of the Piyungan Landfill Decentralization Letter. According on Government Regulation No. 81 of 2012 Article 23, the Regency/City Government are required to provide a landfill in accordance with the RTRW and meet technical requirements. In Sleman Regional Regulation No. 13 of 2021 concerning RTRW, the PKN area is conditionally permitted to build a landfill. This research aims to evaluate the feasibility of landfill locations designated in the RTRW based on the parameters outlined in Article 23 paragraph (3) of the Government Regulation. The spatial analysis method was by overlaying and assigning scores to each parameter. Secondary data were used, obtained through agency surveys and literature studies. The results showed that the PKN area does not have an site feasible for a landfill. The research findings can be used as input in reviewing the landfill location policy.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing physical development and population growth in Tanah Grogot District, which has put pressure on the availability of Green Open Space (GOS). The literature review covers the concept of GOS, its ecological and social functions, spatial distribution patterns, and the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis. The research uses a descriptive quantitative method supported by primary data through field observations, geotagging, and documentation, as well as secondary data from relevant government agencies. The analysis was conducted using on screen digitization and spatial processing using ArcGIS 10.4 to produce a GOS distribution map and calculate the ideal GOS requirement based on the standard of 20 m² per inhabitant. The research results show that there are 83 green open spaces (GOS) spread across Tanah Grogot District, dominated by private green spaces and cemeteries, with a major concentration in government centers and educational areas. The distribution of green open spaces is uneven, particularly in outlying residential areas. The total area of existing green open spaces is recorded at 380,895 m², while the ideal need is 1,658,980 m², resulting in a deficit of 1,278,085 m². These findings confirm that the availability of green open spaces remains far below the minimum standard and require strategies to increase the area, ensure equitable distribution, and strengthen the ecological and social functions of green open spaces.

Abstract

The effectiveness of waste management is basically seen from the performance and cooperation of an agency in implementing the planned program. This study aims to identify the types of waste in Tamiang Layang Village, to find out the forms of waste management that have been carried out by the Environmental Agency, and to find out the effectiveness of waste management by the Environmental Agency of East Barito Regency in Tamiang Layang Village. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Describing the conditions of the research area (field conditions) by means of direct observation, interviews with related parties (Environmental Agency), and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that (1) The types of waste in Tamiang Layang Village based on their nature, form, and source are organic and inorganic, generally in the form of solid, liquid, and biogas waste, which come from various sources such as households, markets, shops, stalls, and others; (2) Of the 4 forms of waste management, the East Barito Regency Environmental Service only collects and transports from the Temporary Disposal Site to the Final Disposal Site without any final processing. The final disposal system uses an open dumping system; (3) The conclusion from the research results shows that waste management carried out by the East Barito Regency Environmental Service is stated as "Tending to be Effective", this can be seen from 3 indicators, namely target accuracy, socialization, and monitoring, from these three indicators, target accuracy and monitoring can be said to be effective, seen from the accuracy of the intended target, namely to all levels of society, and also monitoring is carried out periodically. Meanwhile, socialization is still less effective because socialization is only limited to installing banners urging not to throw garbage carelessly and also funding is still lacking.
