Abstract

This article was written to describe (1) the type of speech acts directive used in Minangkabau language by peer-teenagers for non formal communication in Padang city, (2) the strategy of speaking used in Minangkabau language by peer-teenagers for non formal communication in Padang city, (3) the context of the speaking situation used for non formal communication in Minangkabau language by peer-teenagers in Padang city, and (4)  the politeness way of speaking used  by peer-teenagers in Minangkabau language for non formal communication in Padang city. The data was recorded conversation of peer-teenagers that consisted of 147 utterances in Padang city. The data sources came from young teenager in same age in non-formal communication in Padang. The data was taken by using the method of listening with the technique of tapping. The data was analyzed for describing and clarifying that based on the type of directive speech act, strategy in speaking and the context of the its situation, and the way of teenagers’ speaking in politeness. The findings are, (1) the type of directive speech act is widely used in ordered and inquire speech act, (2) the speaking strategy which was widely used is the speaking frankly without preamble strategy, (3) the context consists of: the sensitive topics of the pleasantries positive politeness of speaking strategy and the not-sensitive topics tend to the speaking frankly without preamble strategy, and (4) the politeness tends to use the pleasantries positive politeness of speaking strategy.Keywords :speech act, strategy of speaking, non formal communication

Abstract

This study was conducted to describe (1) the type of abreviation and (2) the formation of abreviation in the weekly newspaper of Padang Ekspres in January 2018. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. This research data is a kind of abreviation (abbreviations, acronyms, fragments, contractions, and symbols) that exist in the news sentences of the weekly newspaper Padang Ekspres January 2018. The data sources of this research in the newspaper Padang Ekpres Weekly edition in January 2018. Based on the results of data analysis obtained two research findings. First, the type of abreviation in the weekly newspaper Padang Ekspres January 2018, found five types of abreviation, namely (a) abbreviation, (b) acronym, (c)fragments, (d) contractions, and (e) symbols. Second, the formation of abreviation in the weekly newspaper Padang Ekspres January 2018, consists of four processes. (a) The formation of abbreviations consisting of: the first letters of each component; first letters with conjunction, preposition, reduplication, articulation and word; first letters; and first and third letter. (b) The formation of acronyms and contractions consisting of: the first syllabus of each component; first of each component, first two letters of each component, the first three letters of each component, the first two letters of the first two and the first two letters of the second component together with the deletion; and the sequence of various letters and syllables difficult to formulate. (c) The formation of a fragment consist of: that is letters the last syllable of a word and partial splitting sequence. (d) The formation of letter symbol consisting of: that is symbol of letters that characterize size consisting of first letters of consolidation of component, letter symbol expressing data number, and symbol letters that mark currency. Abstract

This study aimed to describe (1) type adjectives in Minangkabau language in kenagarian Sungai Abang subdistrict Lubuk Alung district Padang Pariaman, and (2) the process of forming adjective in Minangkabau language in kenagarian Sungai Abang subdistric Lubuk Alung district Padang Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive method. The method of data collection was using the method of referring and recording technique. Analyzing the data was done in the form of activities as follows: (1) describes the recording data into written language, (2) identify the data in accordance with the format provided, (3) classify the data into the type and process of the formation of the adjective, and (4) do data deduction based on research result. The data of this research are sentence containing the adjectives expressed by the community in kenagarian Sungai Abang subdistrict Lubuk Alung district Padang Pariaman. The source of this research is Minangkabau language especially oral language of society in kenagarian Sungai Abang subdistrict Lubuk Alung district Padang Pariaman. Based on the results of the research obtained the following results, first adjectives in Minangkabau language in kenagarian Sungai Abang subdistrict Lubuk Alung district Padang Pariaman is as follows: (1) characteristic adjective (character or temperament), (2) color adjectives, (3) shape adjectives, (4) size adjectives, (5) sensory adjectives, (6) time adjectives, (7) distance adjectives, (8) speed adjectives, (9) power adjunctive adjectives, (10) adjectiva adjectives. Secondly, there are two adjunctive adjunctive processes in the Minangkabau language, which are basic adjectives and derivate adjectives that can be sorted on beraffixed adjectives, duplicated adjectives and compounded adjective adjectives. Keywords: Adjectives, Word-forming, Minangkabau Language

Abstract

This article was written to describe (1) the type of speech act illocutionary in caricature Tan Baro on Daily newspaper Singgalang, (2) types of strategies are spoken caricature Tan Baro on Daily newspaper Singgalang, and (3) the context of the use of strategies recalled in caricature Tan Baro on Daily newspaper Singgalang. This research data is a caricature figure of speech that number Tan Baro 75 utterances of 24 caricature used source of research data are Singgalang Daily newspaper published on Sunday. Data retrieved by collecting all the utterances in caricature Tan Baro on Singgalang Daily newspaper. Analyzing data this studi by transcribing the data, identify, classify, and concludes the description of the data by type of illocutionary speech act, type of strategy speak, and context of use strategies narrate. The research findings are, (1) the type of speech act illocutionary the most widely used is the speech act is representative, (2) type of strategy speak the most widely used is bald on record with the preamble of politeness, and (3) context of use strategy tells consists of, (a) in the context of the speaker acts said to those who more older or higher status and are already familiar tends to use the strategy speak frankly with strings attached politeness positive, (b) in the context of the speaker acts said to the younger people and already familiar tends to use the bald on record strategy. Keywords: speech act, illocutionary, caricature, Tan Baro, newspaper, Singgalang Daily.

Abstract

This research was written to describe the type of speech act in question and its speaking strategy. This type of research is qualitative which uses descriptive methods. The data source of this research is the question utterances used by the host on the AFD Now program on the CNN Indonesia television station. The results of this study are as follows. First, there are 5 types of speech acts to ask, namely (1) the speech act asks who asks for a yes/no answer or yes/no; (2) the speech act asks who asks for information about the elements of the sentence; (3) the speech act asks who asks for an excuse; (4) the speech act asks who asks for opinions; and (5) the speech act asks who asks for a reinforcing answer. The questioning act that is most often used is a questioning act that asks for information yes / no or yes / no as much as 49 data or 36%. Second, there are 4 types of narrative strategies, namely (1) strategies to speak frankly without further ado; (2) the strategy of speaking frankly with the pleasantries of positive politeness; (3) strategies to speak frankly with small talk of negative politeness; (4) strategies speak vaguely. Among the four narrative strategies, the most frequently used strategy is to speak frankly with positive politeness, as many as 31 data from 138 data or 22.8%. The host does not use the strategy of speaking silently or silently because the AFD Now program is an interactive oral dialogue between the emcee and the guest speaker. Keywords: Speech Strategy, Speech Acts, Television Station Events.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the type and function of play on language in Indonesian Club Lawak (ILK) event in Trans 7. This research was a qualitative research using descriptive method. This research data are a words or combination of words which are punned in Indonesia Club Lawak (ILK) show in Trans 7. Data source in this research were Indonesian Club Lawak (ILK) event which is broadcasted on television station Trans 7. Data are analyzed by following steps : (1) transcribing the downloaded data into written language, (2) identifying the data, (3) classifying the data into plesetan types and plesetan functions, (4) analyzing the data according to the research objectives, (5) do the discussion, (6) summarizes the findings of the study, and (7) reporting the findings of the study. Abstract

Abstract

 ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan karakteristik  tindak tutur direktif tokoh protagonis. Tindak tutur direktif yang digunakan adalah tindak tutur memohon. Objek penelitian ini adalah novel Cantik Itu Luka  karya Eka Kurniawan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Tata cara pengumpulan data adalah membaca karya sastra dan mengerti adanya masalah yang ada dalam karya sastra itu sendiri, mengidentifikasi masalah, menentukan alat untuk mengupas fokus penelitian seperti menentukan pendapat ahli yang dianggap cocok untuk memecahkan masalah, inventarisasi, membuat simpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan data yang menjadi objek kajian dan dikutip secara langsung. Hasil penelitian menyatakan terdapat tujuh tintak tutur direktif memohon yang dituturkan oleh beberapa tokoh seperti Dewi Ayu, Salim, dan Adinda  yang memiliki watak protagonis. Dari tuturan memohon watak tokoh protagonis tergambar sangat jelas. Dan dikaitkan dengan konteks mereka bertutur. Kata kunci : Protagonis, tindak tutur direktif. kesantunan berbahasa
