Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the types, strategies, and functions of speech acts in interviews conducted with public figures who are currently in the spotlight. This research is descriptive in nature, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The data consists of utterances from three prominent figures who are currently the focus of public attention. The source of the data is interview videos from the "Mata Najwa" talk show. The methods and techniques used for data collection include the observation method with the nonparticipatory observation technique. Data validation was conducted using triangulation techniques. The findings of this study are as follows. First, five types of speech acts were identified: (1) assertive speech acts, (2) directive speech acts, (3) expressive speech acts, (4) commissive speech acts, and (5) declarative speech acts. The most dominant types of speech acts used were assertive and directive speech acts, indicating that the speakers, being the interviewees, provided many responses and explanations. Second, four speaking strategies were identified: (1) speaking directly without preamble, (2) speaking directly with positive politeness strategies, (3) speaking directly with negative politeness strategies, and (4) speaking ambiguously. The most dominant speaking strategies used were speaking directly without preamble and speaking directly with positive politeness strategies, indicating that the speakers aimed to communicate politely and respectfully with their interlocutors. Third, four functions of speech acts were identified: (1) competitive, (2) convivial, (3) collaborative, and (4) conflictive. The most dominant speech act functions used were collaborative and convivial, indicating that the speakers aimed to communicate optimistically while still considering social goals

Abstract

The study of critical discourse is always interesting to be studied in more depth. All forms of media coverage and public arguments make critical discourse analysis research grow. The purpose of this study is to find out the forms of rationalization of the comments of supporters and opponents, views / knowledge that are used as the basis of rationalization, and communities that are made objects of rationalists related to proposals from Yasonna Laoly by using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data source used was news from Kumparan, Kompascom, BBCIndonesia, CNNIndonesia, TirtoID, Detikcom, and 20 data accounts in the form of accounts from the Indonesian people regarding Yasonna Laoly's statement of wanting to release corrupt prisoners in the midst of the Corona outbreak. The results showed that the people who commented supporting Yasonna Laoly's statement stated that the plan was the right plan. They argue that the government's decision is a wise decision because it can help corrupt prisoners over the age of 60 get a decent life. People who oppose Yasonna Laoly's statement believe that the plan is a form of injustice from the government which only wants to release the prisoners of corruption and not care about other prisoners.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to explain the contribution of discourse ability, logical thinking, discourse ability, and logical thinking ability for IX grade student’s editing skill of 12 Junior High School Padang. This is quantitative study with descriptive method and correlational design using. The population of this study are the 228 students of IX grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Padang. Samples comprises of 70 students were obtained using Cluster random sampling. The data is analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment (PPM) corelation test, multiple correlation tes, t test, F test, determinant coefficient formula to know how much independent variables contribute to dependent variables either alone or collectively. The result of this study is as follows. (1) Discourse ability gives significant 64% for editing skills because tcount > ttable or 11 > 1,671. (2) Logical thinking ability gives significant contribution 68,89% for editing skills because tcount > ttable or 12,21 > 1,671. (3) Discourse ability and logical thinking give significant contribution 70,56% for editing skill because F count > F table or 153,391 > 3,14. So, it could be concluded that discourse ability and logical thinking, either alone or collectively give significant contribution for editing skill of IX grade students of 12 Junior High School Padang.

Abstract

Masalah penelitian ini adalah berdasarkan peristiwa dalam proses berkomunikasi antara pelajar terhadap guru karena kurang memperdulikan pengunaan prinsip kesantunan yang terjadi saat proses pembelajaran. Adapun tujuan penelitian ada menjelaskan pengunaan prinsip kesantunan dalam tindak tutur direktif menyuruh oleh guru bahasa Indonesia dalam proses pembelajaran di SMP Kabupaten Merangin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriftif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data (SBLC). Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tuturan direktif guru sumber data adalah guru bidang studi bahasa Indonesia yang ada di SMP Negeri 21 Merangin SMP Negeri 32 Merangin dan SMP Negeri 43 Merangin. Hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan temuan penelitian tuturan guru bahasa Indonesia SMP Negeri 21 Merangin, SMP Negeri 32 Merangin dan SMP Negeri 43 Merangin Jumlah tuturan yang teridentifikasi tindak tutur menyuruh terdiri dari 668 tuturan pematuhan maksim kesantunan berjumlah 324 tuturan yang terdiri dari maksim (1) Maksim Kearifan, (2) Maksim Kedermawanan, (3) Maksim Pujian, (4) Maksim Kerendahan Hati, (5) Maksim Kesepakatan dan (6) Maksim Kesimpatian. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian kesantunan berbahasa yang sering digunakan guru dalam mematuhi kesantunan berbahasa tindak tutur direktif menyuruh adalah maksim kearifan. Konteks tuturan yang banyak digunakan dalam pematuhan maksim S3 (-S,+R) situasi 3 dengan konteks topik tutur tidak sensitif dan suasana tidak tenang dan S4 (-S,-R) situasi 4 dengan konteks topik tutur tidak sensitif dan suasana tenang.

Abstract

Ketertarikan peneliti untuk melakukan penelitian ini didasari alasan adanya tindak tutur ekspresif yang berpotensi menjatuhkan muka sehingga tindak tutur tersebut perlu dilengkapi dengan penggunaan strategi bertutur yang tepat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan penggunaan strategi bertutur dalam tindak tutur mengucapkan terima kasih dan mengkritik. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data penelitian ini adalah tuturan yang digunakan siswa yang menunjukkan adanya strategi bertutur dalam tindak tutur mengucapkan terima kasih dan mengkritik pada saat proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berlangsung. Instrumen penelitian berupa gawai, alat tulis, dan lembar pengamatan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan penelitian ini adalah teknik    simak bebas libat cakap, rekam, dan catat. Hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa frekuensi penggunaan strategi bertutur paling banyak, yaitu (1) bertutur terus terang tanpa basa-basi, (2) bertutur terus terang dengan kesantunan positif, (3) bertutur terus terang dengan kesantunan negatif, dan (4) bertutur samar-samar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi bertutur yang paling banyak adalah staretgi bertutur terus terang tanpa basa-basi dengan konteks penutur memiliki kedudukan yang lebih rendah dari mitra tutur dan penutur memiliki kedudukan yang sama dengan mitra tutur, serta topik yang dibahas tidak sensitif.

Abstract

Strategi berututur politikus dalam menyampaikan kritik dan penolakan sering menjadi permasalahan di kalangan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan strategi bertutur mengkritik dan menolak oleh politikus dalam gelar wicara wacana politik di televisi dan pemanfaatanya dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data penelitian ini adalah tuturan atau kalimat-kalimat yang disampaikan oleh Rocky Gerung, Refly Harun, Fahri Hamah, dan Fadli Zon. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah acara televisi yaitu “Indonesia lawyers Club” yang sudah dipublikasikan di platform youtube kemudian ditranskipkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data kualitatif, yaitu reduksi data, panyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan strategi berututur dalam tindak tutur mengkritik dan menolak yang paling sering digunakan adalah strategi bertutur terus terang tanpa basa-basi dengan konteks penutur sama kedudukanya dengan mitra tutur. Sedangkan strategi berututr yang paling sedikit frekuensi penggunaannya adalah strategi bertutur samar-samar dengan konteks penutur juga sama kedudukannya dengan mitra tutur. Topik yang dibahas adalah topik yang sensitif dengan mengangkat isu-isu politik yang populer di tengah masyarakat. Pemanfaatan strategi bertutur yang digunakan oleh politikus adalah dengan membuat bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar pada aspek berbicara. Kompetensi dasar yang berkaitan langsung dengan strategi bertutur adalah wawancara, berpidato, presentasi, memberikan kritikan, ceramah dan kegiatan berbicara lainnya.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian terhadap novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan kesantunan tindak tutur menyuruh pada tokoh protagonis dalam novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye. Data penelitian ini adalah tindak tutur direktif menyuruh pada tokoh protagonis dalam novel tersebut. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara membaca dan memahami novel, mencatat kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat tokoh yang dapat dirumuskan sebagai bagian dari tuturan maupun tindak tutur menyuruh, dan menginventarisasikan data berdasarkan masalah-masalah tindak tutur direktif yang terdapat dalam novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye. Data dianalisis dan dibahas berdasarkan teori pragmatik. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan sembilan tuturan tindak tutur direktif menyuruh, yang menunjukkan bahwa tokoh protagonis dalam novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga karya Tere Liye cenderung melakukan tindak tutur menyuruh secara santun. Strategi bertutur tokoh utama dalam novel cenderung menggunakan tindak menyuruh kepada adik-adiknya. Kata kunci: tindak tutur direktif menyuruh, pragmatik, novel, Bidadari-Bidadari Surga AbstractThis research on the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye aims to explain the politeness of the speech acts of the protagonist in Tere Liye's novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data source in this research is the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye. The data of this research are directive speech acts ordered to the protagonist in the novel. Data were collected by understanding the novel, noting down words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that can be formulated as part of speech acts, and making an inventory of the data based on the problems of directive speech acts contained in Tere Liye's novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga. Data were analyzed and based on pragmatic theory. The results of this study shows nine directive ordered speech act utterances, which indicate that the protagonist in the novel Bidadari-Bidadari Surga by Tere Liye tends to perform speech acts politely. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penggunaan teori inclusion theo van leeuwen dalam berita kriminal pembunuhan di berita online tribun news.com.  Pengumpulan data dilakukan beberapa tahap, yaitu  (1) membaca dan memahami wacana, (2) menandai bagian-bagian wacana yang berhubungan dengan teori inclusion theo van leeuwen, dan (3) mengumpulkan kalimat dalam wacana yang berhubungan dengan teori inclusion theo van leeuwen dengan menggunakan format inventarisasi data. Penganalisasan data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti pada berita kriminal pembunuhan di berita online tribun news,  dapat disimpulkan ada lima judul berita  yang terdapat dengan menggunakan teori inclusion theo van leeuwen antara lain, objektivita-abstraksi, nominasi-kategorisasi, nominasi-identifikasi, asimilasi-individualisasi, dan asosiaso-disosiasi. Dari teori di atas, dapat dinyatakan dalam menulis berita kriminal pembunuhan di berita online tribun news, wartawan tidak memarjinalkan korban. Dalam membuat judul berita wartawan tidak menyembunyikan pelaku. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of Theo Van Leeuwen’s inclusion theory in murder crime news in the news stands online news.com. The method used is the discourse analysis of Theo Van Leeuwen’s model. Data collection is carried out through three stages, namely (1) reading and understanding the discourse contained in criminal news about murders in the online news stands news.com aims to gain an understanding of the content of the discourse under study, (2) marking the discourse parts that are related with Theo Van Leeuwen’s inclusion theory, and (3) collecting sentences in discourse related to Theo Van Leeuwen’s inclusion theory using a data inventory format. Analyzing data is done descriptively. Based on the results of research conducted on criminal news about killings in the online news stands news. com it can be concluded that there are five news titles contained using Theo Van Leeuwen’s inclusion theory, including objectivity-abstraction, nomination-categorization, nominationidentification, assimilation- individualization, and association-dissociation. From the above theory, it can be stated that in writing criminal news about murders in the news online the news.com stands the journalists do not marginalize victims. In making headlines, reporters keep hiding the perpetrators. Abstract

Communicating in activities is an activity that can never be separated from human life. Inappropriate communication can make the other person interpret the conversation with a different meaning, including the wrong meaning. The use of critical language must be clarified with its intent. The use of this speech act is carried out not only verbally but also in writing. Thus, in speaking, it is not only found in oral communication but also in written communication, for example novels. Therefore, it is necessary to explain the types of speech strategies in speech acts of criticizing urban society in Indonesian metropop novels. This study is about speech strategies in the form of speech acts criticizing urban society in metropop novels using a mixed method research type. The research instrument is the researcher himself who is equipped with an inventory format, identification, and data classification. The results of this study are that the most common speech strategy found is the strategy of speaking without further ado. Meanwhile, the least is in the strategy of speaking frankly with positive politeness. The implications of this study can be applied in the learning process, namely in the related basic competencies, namely commenting on original or translated youth novel excerpts (KD 14.1) in junior high school class VIII semester two.
