Abstract

This research is backed by the problem of frequent misunderstandings between students and teachers. The misunderstanding occurs because students are less able to understand the intent and purpose that the teacher delivered. The purpose and objectives of the teacher cannot be well received by the students because of the form and strategy used by the teacher less according to the situation and condition when said. This research was conducted to explain the follow-up and strategy to speak Indonesian teachers in the learning process in SMP Negeri 2 Kinali. This type of research is a qualitative study with a descriptive method. Data collection is conducted through observation and recording of two Indonesian teachers who teach in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Kinali. The research Data is analyzed qualitatively based on the speech theory. The results of this study are as follows. First, the type of follow-up directive found was (1) to ask, (2) to have, (3) Beg, and (4) advise. The Act of Directive, which is dominant by Indonesian teachers, is that the teacher and the least used by the teachers is a follow-up directive. Secondly, the said strategy used to realize the follow-up directive in the learning process in class VII SMP Negeri 2 Kinali is (1) The strategy is frankly without further ado, (2) The strategy is frankly with positive civility, (3) The strategy is straightforward with a negative silence, and (4) a vague strategy. The strategy says frankly without the dominant unpleasantness teachers used in the learning process on the kind of follow-up said.

Abstract

The study is attracted by freedom of opinion is misused in communication activities by using words that have harsh meanings, giving rise to negative feelings. The research aims to find out the forms and functions of dysphemism in Djenar Maesa Ayu's short story collection SAiA. The research data in the form of words and phrases were obtained from the utterances of the characters in the story which contain elements of dysphemism. Data collection used the document technique, through the corpus linguistic method, namely the Indonesian Archipelago Corpus (KORTARA). Triangulation technique is used in validating research data. Research data analysis techniques include categorization, tabulation, and interpretation with substitution techniques to find agreement and differences in euphemism as a form of replacement. The findings show that there are eight forms of dysphemism and the most used form is the use of everyday technical terms, the other seven forms are the use of technical terms and jargon, figurative expressions (figuratively speaking), similes, circumlocutions, metaphors, clippings. (clipping), and hyperbole (hyperbola); Dysphemism in Djenar Maesa Ayu's collection of short stories SAiA functions as an expression to hide other people, to show dislike, to give a negative description of political actors, to express anger or annoyance, to reveal quarrels, and to amplify or exacerbate insults

Abstract

Sejumlah artikel tentang sinonim sudah pernah ditulis, namun belum memberikan penjelasan secara tuntas. Artikel tentang sinonim yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terdahulu hanya membahas unsur makna yang sama pada kata yang bersinonim, namun kurang mengkaji jenis sinonim. Penulisan artikel ini dilakukan untuk menjelaskan jenis pasangan sinonim verba intransitif konfiks ke-an dalam bahasa Indonesia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian adalah teks tulis bahasa Indonesia yaitu koran Kompas, ujaran lisan pada acara berita Liputan 6, dan intuisi peneliti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) tidak semua verba intransitif konfiks ke-an dalam bahasa Indonesia mempunyai pasangan sinonim, (2) verba intransitif konfiks ke-an dalam bahasa Indonesia mempunyai jenis sinonim tidak lengkap dan tidak mutlak.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) formulate the types of commissive speech acts used by presidential and vice presidential candidates in the presidential and vice presidential debates at the 2019 presidential election, (3) formulate the types of expressive speech acts used by presidential and vice presidential candidates in the presidential and vice presidential debates at the 2019 presidential election, (2) formulating the speech strategy used by presidential and vice presidential candidates in the presidential and vice presidential debates at the 2019 presidential election. This type of research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data source in this study is the speech of the 2019 presidential and vice presidential candidates downloaded via Youtube. Based on the results of data analysis, three findings were concluded. First, the types of commissive speech acts used by presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the presidential and vice presidential debates at the presidential election, namely (1) promising, (2) vowing, (3) offering, (4) swearing, and (5) intending. Second, the types of expressive speech acts that exist in the vice presidential debate in the 2019 presidential election are, (1) congratulate, (2) say thank you, (3) apologize, (4) praise, (5) criticize, (6) insinuate , and (7) complaining. Third, the speech strategy used in the vice presidential candidate debate in the 2019 presidential election, (1) speaking without further ado, (2) speaking with positive politeness politeness, (3) speaking with negative politeness pleasantries, and (4) speak vaguely.

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship between indirect speech act and politeness in directive speech act. To get the data, questioners with personal information of respondents and nine directive speech acts which must be assessed by these Indonesian speakers in Jakarta are employed. The analysis shows that there is a positive correlation between the indirectness of a directive speech act and the degree of politeness. The more indirect a directive speech act, the more polite it is. Nevertheless, the correlation is not absolute. There are other parameters that determine the degree of politeness such as intonation, choice of words, and cultural values of the speakers.

Abstract

This article discusses the collective connotation (value of taste) of terms in the Indonesian noun category related to covid-19 on national online news portals. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the form of noun category terms related to covid-19 in Indonesian in the national onlinenews portal, (2) to explain the collective connotation (taste value) of noun category terms related to covid-19 in the Indonesian language contained in the national online news portal. This type of research is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative research with descriptive methods. The results of this study indicate that the noun categorized terms regarding covid-19 in the Indonesian language are found in four forms, namely in the form of 36 words, 58 terms in phrases, 13 abbreviations, and 8 acronyms. The most dominant form of the term is the phrase form. Then, the sense values orconnotations found are very positive, positive, neutral, and negative connotations. The most dominant connotation is neutral connotation.

Abstract

Derived verbs in the Mentawai language are also formed from morphological processes, one of which is affixation. Affixes in the Mentawai language have several forms that sometimes make one mistaken for attaching affixes to basic words in an utterance. This study describes the types and meanings of verb-forming affixes in the Mentawai language in Sirilogui Village, North Siberut District, Mentawai Islands Regency. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The research data is in the form of affixed verbs with the data source being Mentawai language speech in Sirilogui Village, North Siberut District, Mentawai Islands Regency. The data in this study were collected using two methods, namely the listening method with tapping techniques and the speaking method with interview techniques. Data analysis was carried out by transcribing the data into written language, grouping the data into the format provided, analyzing technically for direct elements, and identifying meaning using referential techniques. From the results of the analysis found 74 verbs with affixes in three types of affixation, namely (1) prefixes consisting of prefixes atu-, mu-, pasi-, si-, (2) -aken suffixes, and (3) combinations of pasi- and - affixes. account. The meaning of verb-forming affixes in this study is the grammatical meaning which states 'in a state', 'already happened', 'issuing or producing', 'doing activities', doing (basic)', 'doing work with tools', 'doing (basic)', 'do will', 'make it' and 'do it for someone else'.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of formation and meaning of transitive verb de adjectives in the Minangkabau language of the Kubung Tigo Baleh dialect in Kenagarian Koto Gadang Guguak, Solok Regency. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The data of this research are in the form of utterances that come from informants in the form of verb de adjectives in the Minangkabau language of the Kubung Tigo Baleh dialect in Kenagarian Koto Gadang Guguak. The data collection techniques used in this study were tapping techniques and fishing rods. Then the data analysis step is to transcribe the data from the recording into written form, identify the data according to the existing format, classify the data into verb formation and conclude the research results. The research findings show that the verb formation process is through the affixation process of transitive verb de adjectives in the Minangkabau language of the Kubung Tigo Baleh dialect in Kenagarian Koto Gadang Guguak. Then the meaning of the transitive verb de adjective consists of three, namely doing what is mentioned, in a state of making more.

Abstract

Exspressive speech act play an innportant role in the portrayal of the characters of the story characters, but they have not have not been studied much in films. This study aims to analyze the types of expressive speech acts and the context of the use of speech strategies in expressive speech acts in the film Sejuta Sayang Untuk Karya Wiraputra Basri. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The source of this research data is the expressive speech act in the film Sejuta Sayang Untuknya Karya Wiraputra Basri. In collecting data, this research was carried out in two techniques, namely listening and recording techniques. After that, data identification is carried out which is classified as a type of expressive speech act and the context for the use of speech strategies. The results showedothat9there0are 8 types ofuexpressive speech acts, namely saying thank you, apologizing, praising, insinuating, congratulating, complaining, insinuating, and insulting. The dominant expressive speech act used is to say thank you. In the context of speech (=K+S) dominant using speech strategy (SBTBKP); in the context of speech (K+S) uses a lot of speech strategies (SBTBKN); in the context of petutur (+K-S) uses a lot of speech strategies (SBTBKP); in the context of speech (-K-S) uses a lot of speech strategies (SBTBB); in the context of (-K+S) many use speech strategies (SBTBKP, SBTBKN and SBSS).
