Abstract

Secara administratif wilayah penelitian terletak di Desa Keramat dan sekitarnya, Kabupaten Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo. Daerah penelitian tersususun oleh batuan terobosan dari formasi Batuan Gabro (Teog), Formasi Batuan Granodiorit Bumbulan (Tpb) dan Formasi Aluvium (Qal). Kondisi geologi daerah penelitian sangat kompleks sehingga menarik diteliti karena belum pernah dilakukan penelitian secara detail. Tujuan penelitian yang akan dicapai adalah mengetahui karakteristik mineralogi dan tekstur serta proses terbentuknya batuan dasar berdasarkan data pemetaan geologi dan data petrografi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian tersebut terdiri dari survei geologi lapangan, penelitian laboratorium, dan pengolahan studio. Metode observasi lapangan adalah metode yang berfokus pada pengamatan kondisi geologi di daerah penelitian. Kemudian data-data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan metode penelitian laboratorium berupa analisis petrografi dengan sayatan tipis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Morfologi daerah penelitian terbagi menjadi 2 satuan yaitu satuan perbukitan rendah struktural dan dataran aluvial. Stratigrafi daerah penelitian dibagi menjadi 2 satuan diurutkan dari tua ke muda yaitu satuan gabro, satuan granodiorite dan satuan endapan aluvial. Struktur geologi yang bekerja pada daerah penelitian berupa kekar gerus yang memiliki arah barat laut-tenggara hingga timur laut-barat daya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis petrografi yang telah dilakukan maka diperoleh hasil karateristik batuan gabro sebagai batuan dasar pada formasi gabro adalah berwarna putih kecokelatan (PPl), berwarna abu-abu hingga orange (XPL), hypokristalin, ukuran kristal (1-3 mm), bentuk dan hubungan antar kristal subhedral. Tekstur umum ekuigranular faneritik dengan komposisi mineral penyusun batuan yaitu plagioklas, K-feldspar, biotit, piroksen, mineral opak dan mineral alterasi penyusun batuan serisit. Batuan ini merupakan bagian dari jalur magmatisme pada zaman Eosen.

Abstract

Penelitian batugamping di kawasan selatan Gorontalo dan Teluk Tomini baru secara regional. Salah satunya penelitian singkapan batugamping di wilayah Leato Selatan, Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini menarik karena penyebaran batugamping sangat unik berada di antara dominan batuan vulkanik dan tersingkap pada elevasi yang tinggi sehingga pengaruh tektonik sangat kuat. Evolusi tektonik di daerah Gorontalo menjadi tantangan dalam penelitian ini dalam memberikan informasi geologi baru. Tujuan penelitian ini mengkaji lingkungan pengendapan batugamping daerah Leato Selatan Kota Gorontalo berdasarkan analisis mikrofasies. Metode penelitian yang digunakan terdiri dari survei geologi dan pengamatan petrografi. Mengacu hasil penelitian dan analisis menunjukan nama batugamping pada daerah penelitian terdiri dari mudstone dan wackestone dengan lingkungan pengendapannya berdasarkan standart microfacies masuk daerah toe of slope yang merupakan facies zone 3.

Abstract

Coal is a fossil energy source that is widely available in the world, including Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the ten largest coal producing countries in the world. One area that has coal reserves is Berau Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The research location is in the concession area of PT. Berau Coal which covers the Binungan, Lati, Sambarata, Birang, Punan, Kelai, Gurimbang and Parapatan areas. Administratively, the research location is located south of Gurimbang Village, Sambaliung District, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan Province. The aim of this research is to analyze the geological conditions and distribution of Seam X coal in the North Gurimbang area, Berau Regency. To achieve this goal, methods are used, namely activities in the field and studio. Activities in the field include collecting data on the position of rocks through field geological surveys. Field geological surveys are to determine the geological conditions of the research area in the form of the constituent rocks, stratigraphic relationships, factors that form morphology and geological structure. Activities in the studio involve analyzing subsurface data. The results and discussion show that the geomorphology of the research area is divided into three geomorphic sub-units, namely swamp plains, denudational hills and mine openings sub-units. Abstract

Nikel merupakan salah satu hasil tambang yang ekonomis dan memiliki nilai jual yang cukup tinggi di pasaran dunia. Nikel memiliki banyak manfaat untuk kehidupan antara lain sebagai bahan campuran stainless steel, pelapis anti karat, baterai, dan lain sebagainya. Lokasi penelitian terletak di Desa Wulu, Kecamatan Talaga Raya, Kabupaten Buton Tengah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui kondisi geologi dan mengetahui karakteristik batuan dasar pada daerah penelitian. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi observasi lapangan, mapping, drilling, preparasi, analisis laboratorium petrografi dan pengolahan studio. Hasil dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa kondisi geomorfologi pada daerah penelitian dikategorikan ke dalam satuan bentuk lahan struktural terdenudasi, statigrafi daerah penelitian terbagi menjadi lerzolit dengan tingkat serpentinisasi tinggi dan lerzolit dengan tingkat serpentinisasi sedang dengan karakteristik secara petrologi berwarna hitam, kondisi segar, derajat kristalisasi holokristalin, granularitas faneritik, bentuk kristal subhedral, hubungan antar kristal equigranular (hipidiomorfik), dan komposisi indeks warna mineral melanokratik (60%-90% mineral mafik). Komposisi mineral pada batuan antara lain mineral olivin, piroksen, serpentin, dan magnetit yang termasuk kedalam Formasi Kompleks Ultramafik (Ku) umurnya diperkirakan berumur Kapur Awal.

Abstract

Mapping is an activity carried out by geologists to describe the types of rock that make up it, the structure and history of the formation of an area. The research method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods consisting of literature study, field data collection, data analysis and processing, and research reporting. Geomorphological results of the research area consist of hill units in fault zones, intrusive hill units, and denudational hill units with little erosion. The stratigraphy is composed of the youngest to oldest units: andesite lava units, basalt lava units, and diorite units. The structure consists of a primary structure, namely tarpaulin joints and secondary structures, namely tensile joints and shear joints, which result in the main stress direction being northwest-southeast, and shearing to the left. Geological history began in the Middle Miocene from the formation of diorite intrusive rock (Tmb) which then produced Bilungala Volcanic rock (Tpmb (l)) which was composed sequentially from basalt lava which then became andesite lava. During the Pliocene period, a tectonic phase trending northwest-southeast occurred and produced types of thrust faults and left-slip faults (sinistral). The research area is an active volcanic area with intrusive and extrusive rocks which are thought to have the same source. The influence of tectonic subduction in the Sulawesi Sea is an activity that damages the research area apart from human activity.

Abstract

Gorontalo has two types of limestone, namely reef limestone and clastic limestone. The research area has several formation units, such as Tinombo, Bilungala, Bone Diorite, Pinogu Volcano, and reef limestone. This research produces an analysis of the limestone depositional environment based on microfacies characteristics, as well as identifying the age of the limestone in the area. This research focuses on the Oluhuta and Olele areas in Bone Bolango Regency. Limestone, as the main focus, is a sedimentary rock with calcium carbonate as the main element. The constituent components involve granules, matrix and cement. Microfacies, the study of rock properties through thin sections, helps identify biological and mineral composition and interpret limestone qualities. The depositional environment of carbonate rocks is determined based on component abundance, grain shape, matrix origin, cement type, and rock packing. The methods used are petrography and micropaleontology. The results of research in the Olohuta - Olele area show that the geological conditions include geomorphological units of alluvial plains, coral reef plains and pyroclastic flow hills. The study area consists of Rudstone facies. Based on petrographic analysis, the research area is included in SMF-5, formed in the FZ-4 environment. Based on micropalentological analysis, the Rudstone Facies is aged N12 – N15 (middle Miocene – late Miocene).

Abstract

Lokasi pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat berada di Desa Botubarani Kecamatan Kabila Bone Kabupaten Bone Bolango Provinsi Gorontalo. Desa Botubarani selama ini dikenal sebagai daerah wisata hiu paus. Potensi wisata lainnya yang dikembangkan di Desa Botubarani adalah asset geologi menunjang pengembangan geowisata. Terkait rencana pengembangan geowisata maka perlu didukung lingkungan sehat maka mahasiswa Prodi Teknik Geologi Universitas Negeri Gorontalo melaksanakan tiga program peduli kebersihan sampah terdiri dari pembuatan bak sampah permanen, pemasangan papan informasi serta sosialisasi peduli sampah dan pelatihan daur ulang sampah. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), mahasiswa Prodi Teknik Geologi Universitas Negeri Gorontalo menggunakan tiga tahap tata cara pelaksanaan yang terdiri dari tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap terakhir yakni finishing. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian dari ketiga program peduli kebersihan sampah di Desa Botubarani berjalan lancar dan sukses dengan capaian 100% karena keterlibatan masyarakat sangat besar. Ketiga program yang dilaksanakan langsung memberikan manfaat kebersihan dimana sampah dibuang di bak sampah permanen dan siswa mampu mendaur ulang limbah bekas gelas minuman plastik menjadi kerajinan tangan.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Towara Village, East Petasia District, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. with a research area of ±17 ha. The methods used in this research are geological survey, drill logging and petrographic analysis. The geomorphological unit at this research location is Anthropogenic with a gentle - steep slope  and a steep - very steep slope. The lithology at this location is serpentinized peridotite and serpentinized Harsburgite units. The cross-section of laterite nickel deposits consists of several zones, namely topsoil, limonite, saprolite and bedrock. Top soil is composed of loose sand-clay sized material which is generally blackish in color with high organic content and iron oxide in the form of soil. The thickness of the soil cover ranges from 1 meter to. 2 meters and generally does not contain significant nickel. The limonite zone is generally blackish brown in color and contains hematite and goethite along with a number of elements such as aluminum, manganese and chromium. Thickness 3 meters to 7 meters. The saprolite zone generally in the research area has an average thickness of 3 – 6 meters, with color variations starting to appear, namely light brown, light green, gray and yellow. Bedrock is the lowest part of the Nickel Laterite profile, consisting of blocks of bedrock with a size of > 60 cm.

Abstract

Dambalo is a village located in Tomilito sub-district, North Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo Province. This study aims to identify and describe the geological characteristics of the Dambalo area and its surroundings. The study focuses on geomorphology, stratigraphy, geological structure, and geological potential. The methods used include field observation and laboratory analysis. Field observations include geological mapping, rock sampling, and measuring geological structures using a geological compass. Meanwhile, laboratory analysis was carried out to determine the mineral composition, rock texture and rock name through petrography and stratigraphic analysis. The results of the study indicate that the study area is stratigraphically composed of the oldest to the youngest lithological units, namely porphyry andesite units, volcanic breccias, and alluvial deposits. The dominant geological structure is tensile fractures (tension fractures) with three main orientations. The geological potential in this area includes C-type mining materials, which mainly consist of porphyry andesite rocks, which have economic value for the construction industry. However, this area also has the potential for landslide hazards, namely in areas with steep slopes. This research is expected to contribute to the management of natural resources and mitigation of geological landslide disasters in Dambalo and its surroundings.

Abstract

Reservoir rocks are subsurface rocks that are porous and able to store and flow groundwater that can be utilized by the surrounding community. The rocks that function as groundwater reservoirs in the Bintalahe area are limestone. Almost the entire research area is composed of limestone so it is interesting to study. Gorontalo is located on the northern arm of Sulawesi which is bordered by two provinces and two seas, namely North Sulawesi Province in the east, Central Sulawesi Province in the west, Tomini Bay in the south and the Sulawesi Sea in the north. Gorontalo has interesting geological diversity to study, especially in Bintalahe Village. This study aims to analyze the porosity value of each limestone facies in the research area. The methods used are field observation and laboratory analysis as well as analysis of the specific gravity of coarse aggregate. The results of the study consist of three limestone facies, namely mudstone facies, batupakes facies and pumice facies. The potential of limestone in the Bintalahe area as a groundwater reservoir is in the category of poor to quite good.
