Abstract

Background: Social Emotional Learning (SEL) has become an important part that needs to be accomplished from an early age. However, the issue of implementing learning in kindergarten has not been widely researched, especially when viewed from the challenges and solutions for teachers. Social emotional learning is an important agenda at GIS 3 Yogyakarta to lay a solid foundation for children's personality and behavior.Aim: This research aims to examine the challenges and solutions for SEL at Global Islamic School 3 Yogyakarta.Method: This study employed qualitative methods with semi-structured interviews of five teachers. Data analysis includes the process of data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The validity of the data was tested through source triangulation and technical triangulation.Results: The results of the research show that the challenges faced by teachers are the exclusive environment for children, parental care, and lack of control over the use of gadgets. Next, the teacher determines a solution, namely implementing various activities such as morning sharing, class agreements, taking turns appearing in front of the class, new and exciting games, giving reward stars, group work, circle time, market day, show and tell, cooperative games, reading stories or fairy tales, projects with parents, school habituation programs, as well as parenting and collaborating with parents regarding children's use of gadgets. Creative teachers are prudent. They have good personal and professional well-being. Conclution: Collaboration with parents needs to be improved so that social-emotional abilities increase.

Abstract

Kinerja optimal guru prakarya penting untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mengembangkan kreativitas dan keterampilan siswa. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh kemampuan komunikasi interaktif dan motivasi intrinsik terhadap kinerja guru prakarya di Kabupaten Temanggung. Pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dengan survei terhadap 47 guru prakarya. Analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa variabel Komunikasi Interaktif memiliki rata-rata skor sebesar 71,30 dengan standar deviasi 4,69, sedangkan Motivasi Intrinsik memiliki rata-rata 68,75 dan standar deviasi 5,12. Data dianalisis lebih lanjut dengan regresi linier berganda melalui SPSS versi 25. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Komunikasi Interaktif dan Motivasi Intrinsik berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja guru prakarya, dengan nilai R Square 0,615 yang mengindikasikan kontribusi sebesar 61,5% dari kedua variabel ini terhadap kinerja guru, sementara sisanya dipengaruhi faktor lain. Uji t menunjukkan bahwa Komunikasi Interaktif memiliki pengaruh lebih kuat dibanding Motivasi Intrinsik. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya pengembangan program pelatihan yang berfokus pada keterampilan komunikasi dan penguatan motivasi guru guna mengoptimalkan kinerja mereka. Studi lanjutan disarankan untuk mempertimbangkan variabel lain guna mendapatkan gambaran lebih komprehensif tentang faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja guru.

Abstract

Effective communication becomes an important part in developing a child’s character and to prevent the violence of parents towards children. This research aims to develop a communication instrument of parents towards children. There are two communication aspects, which are the opened communication aspect and the closed communication aspect. There are two stages in developing this instrument: first, an introductory study stage to determine the prototype instrument and the second, expert validation examination stage and field examination. Based on the expert analysis results, the instrument has passed the construct validity and it is declared as fit for use. The results of the field examination show that from 34 items, 24 are declared as valid, with the validity value of ≥0.3 and they are reliable as the r value= 0.84≥0.7. From the expert analysis and the field examination, it is concluded that the instrument is fit for research use.

Abstract

Social skills play an important role in the academic and social success of early childhood, but teachers are not stimulated optimally. This study investigated the impact of outbound games on the social skills of group B (5-6 years old) at TK ABA Karangkunti. A pretest-posttest design was used with a sample of 10 children. Social skills data were gathered using an observation guide with an interval scale. The experimental treatment involved 10 outbound games, and data from pretests and posttests were analyzed using the Wilcoxon technique in SPSS. This study found that outbound games can improve the social skills of children at TK ABA Karangkunti, suggesting that this method is effective. However, the study is limited by a small sample size and specific context. Further research with a broader scope is recommended to validate these results and examine the long-term effects of outbound games on children's social skills.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the role of fathers in caring for early childhood children in Javanese culture. The phenomenon of fatherlessness in parenting is increasingly widespread in Indonesia. The Javanese tribe, one of the largest ethnic groups in Indonesia, was the sample in this research. The research method used is qualitative research with an ethnoparenting approach. The research locus was determined based on the subject's domicile, which was the Wonolelo area, Pleret, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The snowball technique was used as a method in selecting respondents. Involving 14 families as participants, the data was collecting through direct observation and interviews. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The research results show that the role of the father in the Javanese tribe of Wonolelo Village is still the same as the role of most fathers in Indonesia, namely as a decision maker and as a leader, the economic provider, where the family still adheres to a patriarchal culture. Fathers do not always directly involve in parenting at children's daily life. Fathers play more of a role as disciplinarians, role models in carrying out religious teachings, cultural and social traditions. The mother dominates the parenting role at home. It is essential for fathers to increase their parenting role by interacting directly to meet children's psychological and physiological needs.

Abstract

The aim of this writing is to describe the application of farming activities in differentiated learning on the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at the ABA AL-Furqon Kindergarten, Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative type through a descriptive approach. Descriptive research attempts to describe the results of observations and interpret the conditions that occur in relation to the topic taken. The research was conducted in December 2022 at the ABA AL-Furqon Kindergarten in Yogyakarta City. The selection of schools is based on purposive sampling, namely a technique for taking and determining samples based on certain considerations by the researcher. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained was analyzed using data analysis through the steps of data transcription, data reduction, data validation or triangulation, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results show that farming is a process of interaction between children and the natural environment and there is cooperation between one child and another. So that the choice of farming method is appropriate for the development of fine motor skills in each child who has different characteristics or development. Because apart from being able to develop fine motor skills, there is increased social emotional development through cooperation and helping each other among children at the ABA AL-Furqon Yogyakarta Kindergarten.

Abstract

Class VI students in Gemawang District, Temanggung Regency, Central Java Province, have less than optimal thinking skills in learning. It was proven in the results of the national exam for the 2018/2019 school year that it was ranked 9th out of 20 sub-districts. The aim of this research is to determine whether interest in learning and learning independence have a positive correlation with thinking ability. This research was conducted on class VI students in Gemawang District, Temanggung Regency, Central Java Province with a population of 415 students. The sample used was 81 students. The sample size in this study was determined using the Taro Yamane or Slovin formula at a significance level of 10%. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The independent variables studied were interest in learning and learning independence, then the dependent variable studied was thinking ability. The instrument used was a questionnaire. All questionnaires have been tested for validity and reliability. The questionnaire reliability test formula uses Cronbach's Alpha. It can be seen that the reliability value for the thinking ability questionnaire is 0.922; interest in learning 0.900; and learning independence 0.853. Collecting data on students' interest in learning, learning independence and thinking abilities by giving questionnaires to students via Google Form, considering that it is still during the pandemic. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with a correlation test using the IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription 28.0.1.0 program. (142) From the research results it is known that interest in learning is positively correlated with students' thinking abilities, this is proven by the Sig. equal to 0.000 < 0.05. Learning independence has a positive correlation with students' thinking abilities, this is proven by the Sig value. equal to 0.000 < 0.05. And learning interest and learning independence together can have a positive correlation with students' thinking abilities, this is proven by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

Intellectual humility, sebagai kemampuan untuk mengakui keterbatasan pengetahuan dan kemampuan diri, telah diakui sebagai faktor penting dalam mengembangkan sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran dan pertumbuhan pribadi. Di sisi lain, self-compassion, yaitu kemampuan untuk memberikan dukungan emosional kepada diri sendiri dalam menghadapi kesulitan dan kegagalan, juga telah terbukti memainkan peran yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis individu. Meskipun konsep-konsep ini telah menjadi fokus penelitian di bidang psikologi, masih terdapat sedikit pemahaman tentang bagaimana ketiga faktor ini saling berhubungan, khususnya dalam konteks siswa sekolah menengah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelajahi dan menganalisis hubungan antara intellectual humility, self-compassion, dan psychological well-being pada siswa SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasional. Survey dilakukan terhadap 345 siswa SMA dengan rentang usia 14-18 tahun. Survey dilakukan secara online menggunakan tiga jenis skala, yaitu skala intellectual humility (22 item), skala self-compassion (26 item), dan skala psychological well-being (10 item). Validitas dan reliabilitas keseluruhan item diukur dan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel, dengan rentang reliabilitas antara 0.788 hingga 0.894. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa memiliki kategori intellectual humility yang sedang, pada variabel self-compassion, sebagian besar siswa memiliki self-compassion yang sedang, namun terdapat jumlah yang signifikan dari siswa yang memiliki self-compassion rendah, dan yang menarik, seluruh siswa dalam penelitian ini memiliki psychological well-being yang sedang. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara intellectual humility, self-compassion, dan psychological well-being dan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh variabel bebas dapat mempengaruhi perubahan variabel terikat sebesar 33.8%, sementara sisanya 66.2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar penelitian. Implikasi penelitian ini dapat digunakan dalam pengembangan program-program pendidikan dan intervensi psikologis yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan meningkatkan intellectual humility, self-compassion, dan psychological well-being pada siswa SMA.

Abstract

Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya menemukan bahwa keputusan kelompok cenderung mengambil keputusan yang lebih beresiko maupun kurang berresiko dalam pengambilan keputusan apabila dibandingkan dengan keputusan-keputusan yang sebelumnya dibuat oleh anggota kelompok sebelumnya atau individu. Penelitian ini mengusulkan dan menguji kondisi yang mungkin mempengaruhi apakah keputusan kelompok menjadi lebih berani mengambil resiko atau menghindari resiko: (1) penyusunan alternatif-alternatif keputusan, dan (2) diberikan atau tidaknya reward yang diberikan atas keberhasilan suatu proyek tertentu. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi eksperimen, dengan menggunakan desain eksperimen within subject 2 x 2. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 80 orang Mahasiswa S1program ekstensi yang rata-rata sudah bekerja dan sudah berpengalaman dalam mengambil keputusan. Alat analisis yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengambilan keputusan yang diambil berbeda ketika informasi dibingkai secara positif maupun negatif, dan ketika reward diberikan atas keberhasilan suatu proyek yang dilakukan.
