Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore information about the challenges, difficulties, and mistakes that experienced by students in solving passage questions with the material of the Linear System with Two-Variable based on the Newman procedure. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects of the research consisted of 6 students from 31 students eight grade of MTs. Miftahul Ulum Bululawang with 2 upper groups, 2 intermediate groups, and 2 lower groups. The data are collected using exercises (question and answer) and interviews. The data validity test was performed by using triangulation techniques. Data analysis is carried out based on Newman's error indicators, those are reading, understanding the problem (Comprehension), transforming the problem (Transformation), process skills, and writing the final answer (Encoding). The results of this study indicate that the mistakes made by the upper group are the type of misreading (Reading), understanding the problem (Comprehension), transformation problem (Transformation), processing skills problem (Process Skills), and problem in writing the final answer (Encoding). The types of mistakes that the intermediate group made are reading, process skills, and final answer writing (Encoding). The type of mistakes made by the lower group is reading (Reading). Students do not write the variables used for example.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce a valid, practical, and effective learning video that can improve cognitive learning outcomes for grade VIII students of Public Junior High School 5 Malang on the Prism dan Pyramid Volume material. The development model used is ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation).  The quality of the resulting learning video meets the following criteria: a) valid, with an averange score of 3,38 by material experts and media experts; b) practical, with an averange score of teacher response questionnaires and student response questionnaires of 3,50; c) effective, with an averange score of student learning test results of 83,75 and has met the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) at Public Junior High School 5 Malang, namely 78. Thus, it can be conclude that the learning videos developed are valid, practical, and effective to improve cognitive learning outcomes of grade VIII Students of Public Junior High School 5 Malang on prism and pyramid volume material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil analisis pemahaman peserta didik dengan materi Sistem Persamaan Linier Dua Variabel (SPLDV) berdasarkan taksonomi bloom ditinjau dari gaya kognitif impulsif dan reflektif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah empat peserta didik kelas X Farmasi SMK Cendikia Madinah Dampit. Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa metode pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, dokumentasi, tes gaya kognitif MFFT (Mathcing Familiar Figure Test), tes tulis dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik dengan gaya kognitif impulsif cenderung banyak melakukan kekurangan ataupun kesalahan disetiap tahapan-tahapannya sedangkan peserta didik dengan gaya kognitif reflektif mampu memenuhi setiap tahapan-tahapan taksonomi bloom. Dengan demikian kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah karakter peserta didik begitu erat kaitannya dengan tingkat pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi yang dipelajari. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menyarankan agar setiap guru wajib mengerti dan paham akan karakter masing-masing peserta didik yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman masing-masing peserta didik.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa SMP Negeri Satu Atap Manumuti dalam menyelesaikan soal berbentuk cerita dengan materi teorema pythagoras menurut tahapan Newman. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun prosedur pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan wawancara dan tes. Sumber data didapatkan dari siswa SMPN Satu Atap Kelas VIII Manumuti dengan banyak subjek sebesar 15 orang yaitu 7 orang laki-laki dan 8 orang perempuan. Penentuan subjek penelitian didasarkan pada hasil tes yang kemudian dikelompokkan berdasarkan nilai yaitu tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Masing-masing kelompok diambil 1 orang sebagai perwakilan untuk dianalisis hasil tes berserta wawancaranya. Reduksi data dilakukan hingga penyajian data pada penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menghasilkan fakta bahwa (1) bentuk utama kesalahan siswa di kelompok tinggi berada pada saat siswa mencoba untuk mentranformasikan soal, (2) bentuk utama kesalahan siswa di kelompok sedang berada pada saat pemahaman masalah, (3) bentuk utama kesalahan siswa dalam kelompok yang rendah adalah pada saat membaca soal, memahami pokok permasalahan, mentranformasikan data, memproses data yang sudah ditranformasikan sampai penulisan hasil akhir.

Abstract

This study focuses on discussing the result of the analysis of (1) the ability to solve mathematical problems of SPLDV material based on Polya, (2) the causes of student errors in solving mathematical problems of SPLDV material. This research is qualitive research and the type of research is qualitive-exploratory. The subject in this study were class X student of SMK Bina Kartika Nusantara Tirtoyudo. Data collection procedures observations, through tests, interviewers, and documentation. Data is analyzed qualitatively including data reduction, data presentations, and drawing conclusions. Checking the validity of the data is carried out by triangulation. The test results from this study show that there are 3 excellent  criteria, there are  4  good criteria, there   are 5  students  , and The criteria are  less than 3 students.  The causes of student errors   in this study are forgetting or not remembering formulas, difficulty understanding symbols that cause work and  the final result is not just right. The conclusion of  this study is that students  with high categories are able to meet all indicators including understanding problems, planning solutions, implementing solutions  and rechecking.   Learners with a moderate category are only able to meet the  indicators of understanding the problem, planning the solution  and carrying out the solution. Learners with low categories  are only able to understand the problem and plan for a solution.
