Abstract

This study aims to describe the internal cognitive conflicts that occur to students when they were solving mathematics problems. There were two participants in this research. They were 7th grade students from SMPN 1 Malang. The first participant was a student who has experienced internal cognitive conflicts and has capability to resolve it as well as the mathematics problems. Meanwhile, the second participant was a student who has experienced internal cognitive conflict but cannot resolve that conflict and also the mathematics problems. This research was used descriptive qualitative. The data of this study was gathered from students’ test on cognitive conflict and interview which was adapted from Newman's interview procedure. It was found that, the students who are able to find a relationship between the ratio of the number of workers and the number of chairs produced in a day, have capability to resolve their cognitive conflicts so that it brings them to the right problem solving. Meanwhile, the students that fail to build a relationship between the comparison concepts with mathematics problems and fail to find the relation between the numbers of people with the number of chairs in one day can not resolve the cognitive conflict so that they solve the problems in the wrong ways.

Abstract

This research was a case study research with a qualitative approach. The subject of this study was 6 class VIII students of SMPN 1 Kota Malang. The instruments of this study were cognitive quest conflict test sheets, general interview instructions, validation sheets, and record tools. The data obtained in the form of the results of the subject's work, interview data on the subject, and field notes. The results of this study indicated that cognitive conflict of students with instrumental understanding in solving comparison problems occurs when: (1) students determine the formula matching the problem and (2) students do algorithmic calculations. Student cognitive conflict when determining the appropriate comparison formula was the awareness of the contradiction between the answers obtained from applying a comparison formula worth the concept of a reverse value comparison. Student cognitive conflict when performing algorithmic calculations were (a) awareness that the initial scheme is to simplify the comparison of the number of people, tables and days was incorrect because it cannot be applied to solve all problems of comparison and (b) awareness that the calculation scheme was looking for multiplication patterns the known comparison cannot be applied because it produces an answer that was not an integer

Abstract

The study's purpose is to describe the cognitive conflicts experienced by students with relational understanding when solving the problem of three-term ratios. The current research is a case study with a qualitative approach using a purposeful sampling technique. The three research objects are representations of the condition that (1) the student was sure of his solution (cognitive conflict was solved) and the solution is correct, (2) the student was confident with his solution (cognitive conflict was solved) but the solution is not correct, and he is not confident with the solution (cognitive conflict was not solved), and the solution was not correct. The results of this study describe students with relational understanding experience cognitive conflicts, that is, being aware of the conflict between the initial concepts they have and the results obtained. Students feel doubtful and worried, as indicated by the awareness that the initial scheme applied to one proportion problem cannot be applied to other comparison questions. Students' cognitive conflicts with relational understanding do not always lead them to get the correct solution to the three-term ratio problems. The reason is that the student believes comparison is wrong (misconception).

Abstract

In the world of rapidly developing technology education, it can open access to even better education, one of which is the development of smartphone technology which is increasingly favored by the wider community, the use of smartphones can be utilized in media development, especially Android-based media, one that can be developed is media for mathematics lessons, one of which is number pattern material. This study aims to describe the media process that is designed, as well as its development based on Android on Number Pattern material, the model applied in this development, namely (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) we are familiar with ADDIE. The goal of this model is to make good quality media. In this study, the researchers took test subjects at SMPN 11 Bengkulu City, with a total of 32 students and 5 math teachers. With diverse mathematical abilities. Data was collected using validation sheets, student respondent questionnaires and application trials. This was done to determine the quality of the media being developed, with the hope of fulfilling the criteria of validity and practicality. The results of the mathematics teacher's response as a material and media expert validator in using the application showed a very good category of 19.5%, a good category of 74%, a poor category of 6.5%, and a very poor category of 0%. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how teachers and students perceive the development of learning media based on Android in the matter of definition sub-chapter number patterns, square number patterns, rectangular number patterns and triangular number patterns for class VIII junior high school students. In this study used a qualitative descriptive method. And on the results of the research obtained by the teacher's perception in the form of a value proportion 1) on the Basic Competency aspect of 60% in the appropriate category; 2) material aspects of 79% very feasible category; 3) the display aspect is 86% very decent category; 4) the language aspect obtains a value proportion of 88.5% in the very decent category. In addition, the perceived students obtained in the form of the proportion of value 1) on the material aspect of 76% very feasible category; 2) the display aspect is 77% very decent category; 3) the language aspect obtains a value proportion of 75% in the proper category. So that from the results of teacher and student perceptions it can be stated that the development of Android-based learning media is very feasible to be implemented in number pattern learning activities.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine student and teacher assessment of learning media that have been developed by researchers. This study uses the method of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The results of student assessments of Android-based learning media in Pythagorean material, especially in the sub-section of the comparison of the sides of the triangles in the response questionnaire, obtained an average percentage of 75.9% in the appropriate category. The results of the teacher's assessment of Android media obtained an average percentage of an average of 80.3% in the feasible category.Keywords: Android, development, response, triangle, media

Abstract

Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) salah satu model pembelajaran kooperatif yang mudah diterapkan, melibatkan aktivitas seluruh siswa tanpa harus ada perbedaan status, melibatkan peran siswa sebagai tutor sebaya dan mengandung unsur permainan dan penguatan. Workshop penerapan model TGT berbantuan aplikasi Kahoot dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru-guru MGMP SMA Bengkulu tentang penerapan model TGT berbantuan aplikasi Kahoot. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian adalah metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Metode ceramah untuk menyampaikan model TGT, sedangkan metode demonstrasi untuk memberikan kesempatan berlatih kepada peserta mempraktekkan mulai dari penyusunan RPP hingga pembuatan soal tournament berbantuan aplikasi Kahoot. Kegiatan pengabdian secara keseluruhan dapat dinilai baik, dilihat dari keberhasilan target jumlah peserta workshop dinilai baik (80%), ketercapaian tujuan workshop dinilai baik (75%), ketercapaian target materi yang telah direncanakan dinilai baik (80%), dan kemampuan peserta dalam penguasaan materi dinilai baik (80%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model think pair share terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa SMA Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment research) dengan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu semester genap tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dan sampel satu kelas eksperimen yang dipilih secara purposive sampling yaitu kelas XI IPA 3 yang terdiri dari 36 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan instrumen tes  kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig (2-tailed) yaitu 0,000 < taraf signifikan (α) = 0,05 dan  nilai thitung =11,742 > ttabel 1,699 . Rata-rata hasil pre-test siswa sebesar 44.93 dan rata-rata nilai post-test siswa sebesar 75,87  maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari model think pair share terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika  siswa SMAN 4 Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

Pada zaman teknologi saat ini, guru dituntut untuk mampu menyesuaikan dan memanfaatkan teknologi dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan respon siswa serta pengajar mengenai hasil pengembangan produk media pembelajaran berbasis android pada materi barisan geometri. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII yang kesehariannya sering menggunakan android serta para guru matematika pada jenjang SMP dengan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran angket, dengan instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket respon siswa dan respon guru yang menggunakan skala Likert. Data hasil respon siswa terhadap produk media pembelajaran BATRI ini memperoleh kriteria sangat layak dengan skor persentase keseluruhan sebesar 89,51% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Sedangkan hasil respon guru memperoleh skor persentase keseluruhan sebesar 84,15% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan, media yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini dinilai layak untuk digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran pada materi barisan geometri jenjang SMP.
