Abstract

Abstract: The beginning of twenty first century marks the proliferation of salafi-haraki Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) that blatantly reveals their distinctive thoughts, ideology and movement. These pesantrens advance puritan and literal-textual-fundamental understandings of Islam that potentially endanger the unity of Indonesia as a plural nation-state. The government must not only review the contents, materials and curriculum taught in radical pesantrens but also pay a close attention to their leaders’ and teachers’ methods and approaches to religious education both in class and beyond. This article offers strategies to develop Islamic school so it will not turn to be radical. This article argues that in order to preserve a very basic natural character of Indonesian pesantren, as a place to seed peace and tolerance, salfi-haraki pesantrens must integrate the values of multiculturalism and pluralism into their curriculum. This can be done by translating, assimilating and transforming work on pluralism. The values of pluralism will decimate the seeds of radicalism and fundamentalism and are transformed into agendas and activities, such as regular meeting, religious gathering and informal discussion as part of indirect teaching.

Abstract

Abstract: The Islamic education reform comprises a change that affects people’s choice of education as an agent of change and human and capital investment. Thus, it is a need to modernize the thought of renewing Islamic education according to the time’s advances. The study of the Islamic education reform in early 20th century has become relevant in the context of valuable lessons for reform and or modernization of Islamic education in subsequent developments. This research employed a philosophical and implemental approach. It was bibliographic research with the content analysis of the meaning and substance contained in the whole thought about the reform of the Islamic education in early 20th century. This study found that there were three patterns of renewal of Islamic education; (1) modern orientation in Europe, (2) the refinement of Islamic teachings, and (3) nationalism reform. The concept of Islamic education reform encompasses all ideas that are guided by the Qur’an and Sunnah, and continues to follow the times consciously and systematically and directed towards the interests that refer to the progress of science and technology, and based on faith and devotion (IMTAQ). The reform of the Islamic education system has included both the conceptual-theoretical and operational-practical levels, as well as the fundamental aspects that underlie the students’ lives; it is monotheistic faith which has a monolatry dimension of piety to God. It encourages and ignites to play a real role in all aspects of life.الملخص: إصلاح التعليم الإسلامي هو شكل من أشكال التغيير الذي يؤثر على اختيار الناس للتعليم كعامل للتغيير والاستثمار البشري ورأس المال. فلذلك, يجب تحديث فكرة مجددي التعليم الإسلامي دائما وقفا بالزمان الواقع أومما هو أبعد وأجدد منه. أصبحت دراسة إصلاح التعليم الإسلامي في أوائل القرن العشرين مناسبا وأكثر اهتماما من أجل استكشاف التجارب القيمة أو المعلومات أو الإمكانات المتعلقة بتطوير التعليم الإسلامي في المستفبل. استخدم الباحث المنهج الفلسفي والمنهج التنفيذي على أنواع ببليوغرافية مع تحليل محتوى المعنى والمضمون المتضمن في جميع التفكير حول إصلاح التعليم الإسلامي في أوائل القرن العشرين. وجد الباحث في هذا البحث على الأقل ثلاثة انماط لتجديد التربية الإسلامية. الأول كمنحى التحديث في أوروبا, والثاني للتخليص التعاليم الإسلامية, والثالث كالتحديث الوطنية. يشمل مفهوم إصلاح التعليم الإسلامي جميع المفاهيم التي يسترشد بها القرآن والسنة ويثبت في متابعة الزمان وتشير إلى تقدم العلم والتكنولوجيا على أساس الإيمان والتقوى بالله. يشمل تحديث نظام التعليم الإسلامي كلا من المستويات المفاهيمية النظرية والعملية الواقعية بالإضافة إلى المفاصل الأساسية التي تؤسس حياة الطلاب وهو الإيمان والتوحيد بالله تعالى من أجل تشجيع وتحفيز الطلاب ليلعب دورا حقيقيا في جميع مجال الحياة.Abstrak: Reformasi pendidikan Islam merupakan bentuk perubahan yang mempengaruhi pilihan masyarakat terhadap pendidikan sebagai agent of change dan human and capital investmen. Maka, pemikiran pembaharuan pendidikan Islam harus selalu dimodernisasi sesuai bahkan melampaui perkembangan zaman. Kajian reformasi pendidikan Islam awal abad-20 ini menjadi sangat relevan dalam rangka pelajaran berharga untuk reformasi dan atau modernisasi pendidikan Islam dalam perkembangan selanjutnya. Penelitian dengan pendekatan filosofis dan implementatif ini bersifat penelitian bibliografic resarch dengan content analysis terhadap makna dan substansi yang terkandung dalam keseluruhan pemikiran tentang reformasi pendidikan Islam awal abad-20. Kajian ini menemukan setidaknya ada tiga pola pembaharuan pendidikan Islam; (1) oreintasi modern di Eropa, (2) untuk pemurnian kembali ajaran Islam, (3) pembaharuan bersifat nasionalisme. Konsep reformasi pendidikan Islam meliputi segala konsep yang berpatok kepada al-Qur’an dan Sunnah, dan tetap mengikuti perkembangan zaman yang secara sadar dan sistematis serta terarah pada kepentingan yang mengacu pada kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (IPTEK), dan dilandasi dengan keimanan dan ketaqwaan  (IMTAQ). Pembaharuan sistem Pendidikan Islam  telah mencangkup baik pada tataran konseptual-teoritis maupun operasional-praktis,  serta sendi-sendi fundamental yang mendasari kehidupan peserta didik, yaitu iman tauhid yang berdimensi ketakwaan yang monoloyal kepada Allah, dalam rangka mendorong dan memacu untuk berperan nyata dalam semua lini kehidupan.

Abstract

Abstract: This present is intended to reveal the implementation of the tradition as well as the process of acculturation of religious harmony between Muslim and Catholic communities in the commemorating the 1000th day of the death tradition This ethnographic study was conducted in Bandungan, Saradan Madiun.The data was taken by using observation and interview to religious scholars as well as Catholic and Moslem community. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using Miles and Hubberman’s view of data display, data reduction and drawing conclusion. The findings showed that the implementation of praying of commemorating the 1000th day of the death both in Muslim and Catholic community in Bandungan Village, Saradan carried out together in a certain place and the prayer led by Catholic leader and vice versa. Secondly, the process of acculturation of religious harmony between Muslim and Catholic communities in tradition and culture is in the form of respecting religious activities both sacred and profane each other. Furthermore, the harmony of community in Bandungan Saradan, are developed based on philosophy of social harmony which is constructed from five basic concepts, namely: value, structural theory, idealist, and reciprocity and interaction concept.الملخص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى أن يكشف تنفيذ التقليد الأدعية لمدة ألف يوم من الموت وعملية التبادل للوئام الديني بين مجتمعات المسلمين والكاطولكيين. كان هذا البحث مستندا بالدراسة أتنوغرافيا على المجتمع في قرية باندوغان سارادان ماديون. تأخذ البيانات بالملاحظة والمقابلة على العلماء ومجتمعات المسلمين والكاطولكيين. وكان تحليل البيانات باستخدام تقنية مايلز وهوبرمان وهي تقديم البيانات ، والحد من البيانات وصنع القرارات. وتدل النتائج على أنه أن ينفذ التقليد الأدعية لمدة ألف يوم من الموت تنفيذا جماعيا أي إن كان المتوفى مسلما فكان الكاطولكيون يشاركون في الأدعية على منهج دينهم كما جرت في العكس. وما في الواقع  يمثل على القيم الاجتماعية كالتعاون والعلاقات الأسرية . وبالتالي، كانت عملية التبادل للوئام الديني تمثل على بنية الإحترام فيما بينهما من الأنشطة الدينية مقدسة كانت أم مدنسة. ويصنع الوئام الديني في المجتمعات بإشارة إلى النظريات في الوئام الإجتماعي حيث تتكون على خمس نظريات وهي نظرية القيمة والنظرية البنيوية والنظرية المثالية ونظرية التبادلية ونظرية التفاعل.Abstrakt: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pelaksanaan tradisi  mendoakan pada 1000 hari kematian masyarakat muslim dan katolik dan bagaimana proses akulturasi kerukunan beragama masyarakat muslim dan katolik dalam tradisi dan budaya di Desa Bandungan Kecamatan Saradan Kabupaten Madiun. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan studi etnografi masyarakat di Desa Bandungan Kecamatan Saradan Kabupaten Madiun yang berpenduduk beragama Katolik dan Islam dalam memperingati 1000 hari kematian. Pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara kepada tokoh agama, masyarakat Katolik dan Islam, dan pengamatan partisipan, sedangkan analisis menggunakan teknik analis data kualitatif  Miles dan Hubberman yaitu penyajian data, reduksi data dan pengambilan keputusan. Temuan penelitian ialah pertama, pelaksanaan tradisi mendoakan pada 1000 hari kematian masyarakat muslim dan katolik Dusun Jenangan Desa Bandungan Kecamatan Saradan Kabupaten Madiun dilakukan bersama-sama yaitu apabila yang meninggal beragama Islam maka masyarakat katolik ikut terlibat dalam tirual mendoakan akan tetapi mendoakan dengan cara katolik, dan juga sebaliknya apabila yang meninggal katolik maka masyarakat muslim ikut dalam ritual tetapi mendoakan dengan cara Islam. Hal ini dilakukan karena ada nilai-nilai dimasyarakat seperti kebersamaan dan masih ada hubungan famili meskipun berbeda agama. Kedua, proses akulturasi kerukunan beragama masyarakat muslim dan katolik dalam tradisi dan budaya yaitu masyarakat saling muslim dan katolik saling menghormati dan menghargai kegiatan keagamaan baik sakral dan profane. Kerukunan pada masyarakat terbentuk mengacu pada teori kerukunan masyarakat  yang dibangun dengan lima teori dasar yaitu: teori nilai, teori struktural, teori idealis, teori resiprositas, dan teori interaksi.

Abstract

Pesantren and its social religious teaching is a complex and challenged issue. This paper analyzed with the historical-critical approach and reflective logic was aimed to claim that pesantren should behave wisely and carefully to confront extremely purification movement and globalization symptom. To purify Islam leads to the failure to understand and identify Islamic power to discuss creatively with local wisdom. Whereas, with the global growth and modern culture, some pesantrens show an ambiguity and unclear direction and the goal in modernizing pesantren. Pesantren has missed its ability to define and place its position amid global reality at the intersection of maintaining the tradition and adopting the new development. For that, with the strong of pesantren cultural tradition, pesantren must be able to make continuity and change to bind local, national, and global values. In other words, the future of pesantren is determined by an education model which relates pesantren cultural values, nationality, and global human issues.Copyright (c) 2015 by KARSA. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peningkatan mutu pendidikan di Kelompok Kerja (POKJA) RA Poncol Magetan melalui program sedekah sampah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pesrpektif ethnoscience, dengan berusaha memahami perspektif lokal tentang pengelolaan sampah dengan menerapkan interview etnografi untuk memperoleh sejumlah taksonomi pengetahuan lokal. Sedekah sampah telah menjadi salah satu solusi persoalan sumber pembiayaan dan lemahnya literasi keuangan, sehingga RA yang tergabung dalam POKJA RA Poncol Magetan memiliki kesiapan yang optimal dalam pelaksanaan program-program pendidikannya pada aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Selain itu POKJA RA Poncol Magetan memiliki keberdayaan yang baik melalui keterampilan dalam menyusun arus kas yang benar dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi pembelajarnnya melalui sedekah sampah, dimana sedekah sampah merupakan alternatif pemecahan masalah sampah yang memadukan unsur edukasi dan pemberdayaan yang berkelanjutan

Abstract

This research was conducted in Pulung Ponorogo to figure out the development model in forming the harmonious spirit of social-religious life through the Thematic Community Service Internship (KPM) Posdaya (Family Empowerment Post)-Mosque Based. First, the thematic Community Service Internship (KPM) Posdaya (Family Empowerment Post)- Mosque Based in STAIN Ponorogo with Participant Action Research (PAR) approach had been able to create spaces and integrative communication medium and decreased the rigidity of communication among different community. Social activities centralized at mosque made people conscious that their religion taught a wisdom to build harmonious life. Second, the difference became positive energy in developing harmony, peacefulness and prosperity. The dialogue activities enriched their theological dialogue empowering mosque in wider perpectives that not only function as praying and preaching but also education, economic, social, culture, communication and information activities.

Abstract

This writing is expressions of the writer’s irritated feeling of tenageers’s social etique. It is indicated by their uncontrolled behavior in which they often conduct fighting with other tenageers. This event  is the portrait of the defact on social life. To cope this condition, it is required for religion educators with students’parents and the society leaders to internalize values of social etiques. One of ways is by teaching integration of social etique with religion. Hence, educators on education must develop instructional designs.  Contemporer of Islamic teaching can be realized through; (1)identify on their doubt on a particular value based on their need, (2) determine requirements and the alternative of problem solving, (3)choose the appropriate strategy of problem solving, (4)apply the strategy, (5)observe the effectiveness through evaluation, (6) revise the action. Beside that Islamic education teachers need to design the pattern of classroom management using socio emotional climate and practice the principle of effective classroom management such as identify students.Keywords: Islamic ethic, instructional designs.

Abstract

As an institution that accompanies the propagation of Islam in Indonesia, Islamic boarding school has four folds of perceptions. It can be viewed as the institution of ritual, moral development, proselytizing and popularly functioned as Islamic education. In line with the shift of educational management paradigm, recently some Islamic boarding schools are also experiencing growth in the aspects of management, organization, and administration. Islamic boarding schools can no longer be managed with the traditional model or approach so as to be able to compete with other kinds of institution. In accord to this, they should always reform them selves to improve the quality of managementand its educational system. In regard to the rapid change of Islamic boarding schools, the strategic efforts of human resources development should be paid greater attention. Human resource development can be done through personal training programs (in instance, organization). These development programs include upgrading work, dedication, moral, discipline, peer skill enhancement and training. In addition, the development can also be done by: (1) institutional development, (2) enhancing the internal-external networking with other institutions, and (3) reorientation of meaning towards Islam by Islamic barding  school.

Abstract

Physical distancing policy because Covid-19 has entered schools, including Islamic colleges in Indonesia, which must revolutionize itself with an online learning policy. Meanwhile, public education courses' effectiveness is still minimal, raising questions about the impact and what media is used and its effectiveness on Course Learning Outcomes (CLO). Therefore, it tries to be explored in depth from the implementation of bold learning from the results of its evaluation. Research Survey descriptive equilibrium method, taking a sample from one population using a questionnaire as a tool and the primary data. The survey was conducted on 4000 out of 205 lecturers at IAIN Ponorogo. The research data were also taken from the evaluation reports of pink lessons from fifteen Indonesian Islamic higher education. The results showed that lecturers used at least 23 islands of media. The most used Whatsapp Group, namely 58.5%, google classroom 57%. The lecturer used various media to improve some student competencies: student reasoning by 43.4%, conveying ideas in 38.8% good categories, 33.8% good creative categories, and 45.6% good cooperation. Online learning and teaching in Islamic higher education IAIN Ponorogo Covid-19 pandemic table run quite effectively. Even though it is still a relative island, such as internet accessories, limited facilities, and student abilities, this does not flow from the spring table in front of the educators.

Abstract

The mainstreaming of the values of religious moderation has been carried out by madrasas in Indonesia long before it became a priority program of the Ministry of Religion which was initiated by the former Minister of Religion, Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin. MA Bustanul 'Ulum and MA Roudlotul Huda Central Lampung are Islamic educational institutions that are pretty old in Central Lampung, which seem to have some uniqueness from the education system that contains efforts sow the values of religious moderation. Therefore, using a purposive sampling technique, researchers are interested in conducting research in both madrasas, which aims to identify the characteristics of the madrasa curriculum, analyze the leadership role of the madrasa principal, and find out the teacher's example in internalizing the values of religious moderation in madrasas. Research data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques which were then analyzed using Miles and Hubberman qualitative analysis: data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The study results conclude that the curriculum's characteristics are integrated curriculum with Islamic boarding schools that are implemented with a socio-religious approach, apply multicultural leadership, and exemplify intra-religious cultural dialogue with students. This qualitative research ultimately has limitations considering that the results of this study do not reflect the characteristics of madrasas in general. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct more comprehensive research to determine the mainstreaming of religious moderation values in madrasas.
