Abstract

Budidaya tanaman obat untuk kebutuhan bahan baku obat herbal saat ini bisa dilakukan hanya dipekarangan rumah dan bisa menjadikan salah satu sumber penghasilan yang menjanjikan. Desa Kagok telah melakukan budidaya tanaman obat dalam skala kecil sehingga hasil yang didapat belum maksimal. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan bahan baku obat di Desa Kagok dengan budidaya tanaman obat sehingga berujung pada  peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi beberapa tahapan diantaranya : 1). Survey lapangan, 2). Konsolidasi, 3). Penyiapan lahan, 4). Pembuatan bedengan, 5). Penyiapan media tanam, 6). Penanaman, dan 7). Pemeliharaan. Hasil pada kegiatan ini seluruh peserta melaksanakan penuh kegiatan budidaya tanaman obat dengan jumlah benih yang dibudidayakan  1.512 polybag yang terbagi kedalam 6 jenis yaitu : jahe, jahe putih, jahe merah, kunyit putih, kunyit kuning, dan kunyit hitam dengan jumlah 1.512 benih.

Abstract

Conservation of biological natural resources is not only the responsibility of the manager of a conservation area but also the responsibility of all elements, including the community around the area. The activities of conserving biological natural resources that are carried out in collaboration will provide maximum results. Communities around the area in particular are the subject of development in an effort to conserve natural resources. The method of implementing community service activities carried out includes training activities and field practice in stages; preparation, implementation and evaluation. Preparatory activities include field observations regarding the need for facilities and infrastructure. Implementation activities are through training and field practice in the technique of making plant seeds with uprooting techniques in nature. Evaluation activities are carried out after the completion of the activity to ensure the sustainability of the activity. The benefits of this activity are expected to increase public knowledge about the role of providing plant seeds in an effort to restore the area of the Research Station of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Kuningan in Gunung Ciremai National Park.

Abstract

Mount Ciremai National Park has an area of ±15,500 ha with soil characteristics at various heights and varied slope directions. This study aims to determine the characteristics of soil properties in Gunung Ciremai National Park based on slope direction and its relationship with vegetation growth. The method used in this study is a systematic sampling method based on height intervals on four slopes with depths of 0-15 cm and 16-30 cm. The results showed 1). Soil pH in all four slopes with different heights in the acid-neutral category, 2). The soil texture is classified as sandy-loam and sandy-clay loam, 3). C-organic content is classified as low-very high, 4). The content of N-Total is classified as low-high. 5). P2O5 content is classified as very low-low, 6). K content is classified as low-very high, 7). Ca content is low-very high, and 8). Mg content is classified as low to high. Significant correlation tests of soil physical and chemical properties are found on several parameters such as C/N ratio, K, and Mg.

Abstract

The low level of students ' scientific literacy abilities can be caused by learning habits that are still conventional . Developing digital- based learning media is a good learning media to use in learning in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and is believed to be capable to increase students ' scientific literacy . The aim of this research is to develop contextual visual media that can increase students ' scientific literacy . The method used in this research uses the ADDIE model developed by Dick and Carry . The results of the research is in the form of contextual visual media which was developed in five stages , namely analysis was carried out by observing and interviewing school principals and subject teachers , design was carried out by making stories boards , at the development stages validation was carried out by material experts and learning design experts , implementation was carried out in the experimental class , and the evaluation stages was carried out by improving the visual media developed according to input from the validator team . The validity test results are in the very good category , so the visual media developed is suitable for use in research . Based on the t test results of 0.001, these results indicate that the hypothesis is accepted , so it can be concluded that there is an increase in scientific literacy after learning activities using the developed contextual visual media.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity aims to increase participants' understanding of the positive impact of organic matter on ecological balance and its application in sustainable agriculture. The workshop was carried out with a participatory education method involving 36 participants from six districts in West Java, through material presentations, interactive discussions, and simple demonstrations. Evaluation is carried out without a pretest and posttest, but through observation, interaction, and evaluation sheets with the categories of understanding level "very understanding", "understanding", and "not understanding". The results of the activity showed that 80% of the participants were in the category of very understanding, 15% in the category of understanding, and 5% in the category of not understanding. These findings indicate that the participatory workshop approach is effective in improving ecological literacy and participants' conceptual understanding of the importance of organic matter in maintaining soil and ecosystem health. This PKM has a positive impact in supporting the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices, as well as becoming an educational model that can be replicated in other regions with similar ecological problems.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is an essential 21st-century competence that reflects students’ ability to understand, apply, and evaluate scientific knowledge in real-life contexts. However, the scientific literacy achievement of Indonesian students remains relatively low, as reflected in the results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). One of the main contributing factors to this condition is science learning practices that are still predominantly focused on rote memorization of concepts, place limited emphasis on understanding the Nature of Science, and lack relevant social contexts. This article aims to comprehensively examine the effectiveness of the Nature of Science (NOS) and Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) approaches in enhancing students’ scientific literacy through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The literature analyzed includes national and international journal articles addressing scientific literacy, the implementation of NOS, and SSI-based science learning. The synthesis of the reviewed studies indicates that explicitly and reflectively implemented NOS instruction significantly contributes to strengthening students’ epistemological understanding of science and critical thinking skills. Meanwhile, the SSI approach has been shown to be effective in improving contextual scientific literacy, with moderate gains based on N-Gain analysis and highly positive student learning responses, particularly in environmental-related issues. Furthermore, the findings suggest that the effectiveness of NOS and SSI is optimized when supported by innovative instructional models and authentic assessments that comprehensively measure the content, process, and contextual dimensions of science learning. Therefore, the integration of NOS and SSI is recommended as a comprehensive pedagogical strategy to strengthen scientific literacy among Indonesian students. ABSTRAKLiterasi sains merupakan kompetensi esensial abad ke-21 yang mencerminkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami, menggunakan, dan mengevaluasi pengetahuan sains dalam konteks kehidupan nyata. Namun, capaian literasi sains peserta didik di Indonesia masih relatif rendah, sebagaimana tercermin dalam hasil Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Salah satu faktor utama penyebab kondisi tersebut adalah praktik pembelajaran IPA yang masih berorientasi pada hafalan konsep, kurang menekankan pemahaman hakikat sains, serta minim konteks sosial yang relevan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara komprehensif efektivitas pendekatan Nature of Science (NOS) dan Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) dalam meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik melalui metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Literatur yang dianalisis meliputi artikel nasional dan internasional yang membahas literasi sains, implementasi NOS, dan pembelajaran berbasis SSI. Hasil sintesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran NOS yang diterapkan secara eksplisit dan reflektif berkontribusi signifikan dalam memperkuat pemahaman epistemologis sains dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Sementara itu, pendekatan SSI terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains secara kontekstual, dengan peningkatan kategori sedang berdasarkan analisis N-Gain serta respons belajar siswa yang sangat positif, khususnya pada isu lingkungan. Temuan lain menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas NOS dan SSI akan optimal apabila didukung oleh model pembelajaran inovatif dan asesmen autentik yang mampu mengukur dimensi konten, proses, dan konteks sains secara terpadu. Dengan demikian, integrasi NOS dan SSI direkomendasikan sebagai strategi pedagogis komprehensif untuk memperkuat literasi sains peserta didik di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine research trends and thematic patterns in biology education studies that incorporate local wisdom in Indonesia during the 2021–2026 period, as well as to identify the dominant research directions within this field. The study is grounded in the growing concern over declining ecological awareness and the weakening integration of local cultural values in biology learning amid the globalization of science education. A quantitative bibliometric approach was employed using publication data retrieved from Google Scholar. A total of 972 relevant articles were analyzed with the assistance of VOSviewer to visualize keyword networks, thematic clusters, and interrelationships among research topics. The findings indicate that biology education research based on local wisdom primarily focuses on the development of locally grounded learning resources, the integration of project-based learning, and the application of contextual learning approaches to strengthen students’ ecological character. Bibliometric mapping reveals six major interconnected clusters, with local wisdom, learning resources, and environmental education serving as central themes. These results highlight the strategic role of local wisdom in fostering meaningful and sustainable biology learning. Future research is recommended to investigate the effectiveness of local wisdom-based instructional models through experimental approaches across diverse educational settings. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kecenderungan dan pola perkembangan kajian pendidikan biologi yang mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal di Indonesia selama periode 2021–2026, serta memetakan tema-tema utama yang mendominasi arah penelitian pada bidang tersebut. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada semakin berkurangnya perhatian terhadap kesadaran ekologis dan nilai budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran biologi seiring dengan menguatnya arus globalisasi pendidikan sains. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif berbasis bibliometrik dengan sumber data publikasi ilmiah yang diperoleh dari Google Scholar. Sebanyak 972 artikel yang relevan dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak VOSviewer untuk memvisualisasikan jejaring kata kunci, pemetaan kluster, serta keterkaitan antartema penelitian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penelitian pendidikan biologi berbasis kearifan lokal didominasi oleh tema pengembangan sumber belajar berbasis potensi lokal, penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan penggunaan pendekatan kontekstual dalam pembelajaran biologi. Visualisasi bibliometrik mengidentifikasi enam kluster utama yang saling terhubung, dengan fokus pada local wisdom, learning resources, dan environmental education. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kearifan lokal memiliki peran strategis dalam membangun pembelajaran biologi yang relevan, bermakna, dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mengkaji efektivitas implementasi pembelajaran berbasis kearifan lokal melalui pendekatan eksperimental pada berbagai konteks pendidikan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how teachers’ pedagogical competence contributes to the implementation of the Indonesian Madrasah Competency Assessment (AKMI) program and its influence on students’ literacy performance. This research employs a descriptive–exploratory qualitative design using multiple case study sites in three districts: Kuningan, Majalengka, and Ciamis across the MI, MTs, and MA levels. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, while quantitative data from teacher pedagogical competence questionnaires and student AKMI report cards were used as supporting materials to strengthen the interpretation of the qualitative findings. The results show that AKMI training (BIMTEK) has been implemented adequately, enabling teachers to apply literacy-based lesson planning and contextual learning strategies. Teachers reported gains in understanding differentiated learning and the use of AKMI reports, although several challenges remain—particularly limited conceptual mastery, insufficient dissemination, tight implementation schedules, and constraints in online training. The analysis also indicates a tendency that higher pedagogical competence is aligned with better student literacy outcomes, although the relationship is not yet strongly consistent across levels. In conclusion, pedagogical competence plays an essential role in supporting the effectiveness of AKMI implementation, yet continuous mentoring and strengthened conceptual training are required to optimize program outcomes.
