Abstract

Cold Storage Building is a building specifically designed to maintain room temperature in very cold conditions which functions as a commodity preservation area so that it can be stored fresh for a long period of time. When constructing a Cold Storage Building, a very specialist construction process is required. Therefore, it must be carried out using a certain construction method (modular construction), using special Materials (sandwich panels), requiring several specialist subcons & a lack of experienced workers. These conditions make the challenge of building a Cold Storage Building more difficult, which can affect the time performance of the project. This research aims to analyze factors that can influence time performance in the implementation of the Cold Storage Building construction project using the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis method. Based on data analysis, the equation Y = 3.166 + 0.108 X1 + 0.208 X2 + 0.040 X3 + 0.112 X4 + 0.164 Based on the results of the Coefficient of Determination Test, simultaneously Manpower Factors (X1), Material Factors (X2), Machine Factors (X3), Method Factors (X4), Money Factors (X5) and Environment Factors (X6) have an influence contribution of 87.6 % of Time Performance (Y). Meanwhile, for the results of the most dominant factors analysis using Beta Standardized x Zero-Order, it was found that the Material Factors (X2) was the most dominant factors that could influence time performance with an influence value of 34.01%. Considerations in determining alternative solutions to improve time performance on Cold Storage Building construction projects are carried out on the most dominant factors, namely the Material Factors (X2).

Abstract

The construction industry in Indonesia, including the Patimban Toll Road Access project, faces safety challenges due to high accident rates, unsafe working conditions, and hazardous work environments. The high accident rate, as evidenced by 2,971 accidents in 2023, highlights the urgent need for enhanced implementation of OHS standards. This study focuses on key factors influencing safety performance at the Patimban Toll Road Access project, including organizational commitment, OHS management, knowledge management, and safety citizenship behavior. This study aims to examine the influence of organizational commitment, knowledge management, and occupational health and safety management (K3) on Safety Citizenship Behavior (SCB) and safety performance in the Patimban Toll Road Access project. The research also explores the mediating role of knowledge management, K3 management, and SCB in these relationships. A quantitative causal research approach was used, involving 98 direct workers from the Patimban Toll Road Access project. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the aid of SmartPLS 3.0. The results show that organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on knowledge management and K3 management. Both knowledge management and K3 management positively influence SCB, which in turn contributes to improved safety performance. Furthermore, knowledge management and K3 management were found to significantly mediate the relationship between organizational commitment and SCB, as well as between SCB and safety performance. These findings suggest that effective knowledge management and K3 practices not only enhance safety citizenship behavior but also improve overall safety performance in the Patimban Toll Road Access project.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of project implementation by evaluating the impact of Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and the Last Planner System (LPS) on contractor performance and the timeliness of high-rise building projects. Effective scheduling is crucial in construction, as it aims to minimize process time, waiting time, and inventory levels while ensuring the efficient use of resources. The research is motivated by the frequent delays observed in high-rise building projects during the construction phase. The study employed SPSS to analyze data, revealing that the combined use of CCPM, BIM, and LPS significantly improves contractor performance and project implementation time, with a p-value of 0.000, indicating a strong influence. Specifically, the application of the CCPM method reduced the project timeline from 314 days to 235 days, achieving a 33.4% optimization in time. Additionally, the use of BIM 3D modeling facilitated rapid visualization of building progress across different floors, while the implementation of the LPS method improved the Percent Plan Completed (PPC) value from below 70% to 89.49%. The findings suggest that employing these methods enhances the accuracy of project timelines and reduces delays, offering valuable insights into improving construction project management practices.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between construction delay factors, quality standards and specifications, and quality performance of building construction projects. In addition, this study also explores the role of quality standards and specifications as a mediator in the relationship between construction delays and project quality. By using the Structural Equation Modeling method based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), this research is able to analyze complex relationships between variables that cannot be measured directly. In addition, to explore the factors that cause delays, the Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) method is used to identify the root of the problem, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to analyze the risk of delays using a risk priority number (RPN). RPN is calculated based on severity, likelihood of occurrence, and detectability for each failure mode identified, prioritizing critical risks that need to be addressed immediately. The results show a very high level of significance, indicating that the delay factor plays a role in influencing project quality performance through quality standards and specifications as a mediating variable. The RCFA and FMEA methods proved effective in identifying the causes of delay and providing recommendations for corrective measures. This research contributes to construction project management by emphasizing the importance of implementing quality standards and specifications, as well as the need for systematic management of delay risks. The findings are relevant for practitioners and academics to improve efficiency and quality in the delivery of construction projects in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study is an empirical quantitative-explanatory research that aims to examine the role of compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and work motivation in improving worker productivity, both directly and indirectly through work competence as an intervening variable. The research was conducted on a low-cost apartment construction project in Aceh Province between October and December 2024. Data were gathered using a structured questionnaire administered to 170 construction workers, with each respondent assessing latent variable indicators on a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with AMOS version 22.0. Due to the initial sample size being below the minimum threshold, a bootstrapping technique was applied 30 times, resulting in 200 observations. The findings reveal that compliance with OHS implementation and work motivation both have a significant and positive direct impact on productivity. Furthermore, OHS compliance and motivation also significantly enhance worker competence. Work competence plays a mediating role in the relationship between OHS compliance and productivity, as well as between motivation and productivity, although the mediation effect is relatively modest. Consequently, work competence is classified as a quasi-intervening variable. These results underscore the critical importance of OHS program implementation and motivation enhancement strategies in driving worker productivity, particularly in the construction sector.
