Abstract

Disolved oxygen plays an important role for fish living in its life environment. Information on the ammount of oxygen consumption of a fish in certain volume of water is needed in order to give balancing between the ammount of disolved oxygen and fish in it. The objective of this research is obtaining oxygen consumption level of a juvenile of humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) of 5-7 cm body length. Oxygen consumption of fish was measured using a tube that equiped with DO tool (dissolved oxygent, DO), and the tube was filled by sea water. Measurement of oxygen con-sumption of juvenil was done by measuring the concentration of dissolved oxygen from sea water in the respirometer tube, began when fish had entered into the respirometer tube up to two hours observation. The result showed that oxygen consumption rate of a juvenile of humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) of 5-7 cm length, is ranging between 0.816 and 1.734 mg/hour.

Abstract

of cargo arrangement so can they impact to quality stability of fishing vessel. The aim of this research is design and stability analysis Bulukumba purseseiner with three conditions cargo arrangement and two fishing seasons (peak fishing season and scarcity fisihing season). This research is done at Bulukumba regency, South Sulawesi province in February until April 2013 with measurements, observation and interview related of main dimension and cargo arrangement of Bulukumba purseseiner in field. Hydrostatic paramter analysis uses naval architecture formula and stability analysis uses PGZ software of three cargo arrangement conditions on two fishing seasons and then, these values will be compared with references value. The results of design analysis show that coefficient of finennes bulukumba purseseiner is Cb = 0.80 and Cp = 0.88 which its hull type bulukumba purseseiner is round bottom. Principal dimension ratio Bulukumba purseseiner have agreed with references of fishing vessel in Indonesia but it have not filled references of fishing vessel in Japan. The values of Bulukumba purseseiner stability have filled to IMO criteria of stability values. Stability of Bulukumba purseseiner on scarcity fishing season better than on peak fishing season and the best value of stability is PA-K3 condition (condition of purseseiner back to fishing base on scarcity fishing season).Key words: Bulukumba, cargo arrangement, design, purseseiner, stability-------ABSTRAKKabupaten Bulukumba merupakan salah satu daerah pembuatan kapal kayu dan masih besifat tradisional. Musim penangkapan ikan dapat mempengaruhi distribusi muatan di atas kapal sehingga dapat berakibat pada kualitas stabilitas kapal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis desain dan stabilitas kapal purse seine Bulukumba berdasarkan tata muatan dengan tiga kondisi muatan dalam dua variasi musim penangkapan (musim puncak dan musim paceklik). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Bulukumba Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan pada bulan Februari–April 2013 dengan melakukan pengukuran, pengamatan dan wawancara secara langsung di lapangan terkait dimensi utama dan distribusi muatan. Analisis parameter hidrostatis dilakukan menggunakan formula naval architecture sedangkan analisis stabilitas menggunakan software PGZ yang selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan nilai acuan. Hasil analisis desain menunjukkan, kapal purse seine Bulukumba memiliki nilai koefisien bentuk yaitu Cb = 0,80 dan Cp = 0,88 dengan kasko kapal berbentuk round bottom. Rasio dimensi utama kapal purse seine Bulukumba telah berada pada rentang nilai kapal purse seine di Indonesia namun belum berada pada rentang nilai kapal purse seine di jepang. Nilai stabilitas kapal purse seine Bulukumba telah memenuhi nilai kriteria stabilitas IMO. Stabilitas kapal purse seine Bulukumba pada musim paceklik lebih baik dibandingkan pada musim puncak dengan nilai stabilitas terbaik pada kondisi PA-K3 (kondisi kapal kembali ke fishing base pada musim paceklik).Kata kunci: Bulukumba, tata muatan, desain, kapal purse seine, stabilitas

Abstract

ABSTRACTA shipyard is a supporting element to meet the eligibility requirements through maintenance service for vessels and their engines. Lead time for ship repair may vary, depending on the condition of ship. The length of the ship repair process can lead to shipyard queuing. One attempt to improve the mechanism and ship repairing time is by analyzing the network. This study aims to identify the network diagram, to determine the critical path, and to find out the effectiveness of ship repair process. Activities and duration during ship repairing process were analyzed using critical path method (CPM) and measured the value of its effectiveness. The objects that were observed in this study are minor repairs and major repairs. The results showed that a minor repairs can be implemented in 7 days while based on productivity index it can be completed in 5 days and has a 98% effectiveness than the time alocated by the shipyard. Major repairs can be completed during 10 days; these repairing lead time were affected by damage to the machine which requires a long recovery process.Key words: CPM, effectiveness of ship repair, network analysis-------ABSTRAKGalangan kapal merupakan unsur penunjang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kelaikan kapal melalui perawatan beserta mesinnya. Proses perbaikan kapal dapat bervariasi tergantung dengan kondisi kapal. Lamanya proses perbaikan kapal dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya antrian galangan. Upaya untuk meminimalisir antrian kapal salah satunya dengan menganalisis jaringan kerjanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi struktur jaringan kerja, menentukan jalur kritis serta mengetahui efektifitas proses perbaikan kapal. Proses dan waktu perbaikan kapal dianalisis menggunakan metode jalur kritis (Critical Path Method) kemudian dihitung nilai efektivitasnya. Hal yang diamati dalam penelitian ini yaitu perbaikan ringan dan perbaikan berat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyelesaian perbaikan ringan di galangan KPNDP membutuhkan waktu selama 7 hari sedangkan berdasarkan index produktivitasnya dapat diselesaikan selama 5 hari dan memiliki efektivitas 98% dibandingkan waktu yang dialokasikan oleh galangan. Perbaikan berat dapat diselesaikan selama 10 hari, lamanya perbaikan ini dipengaruhi dengan kerusakan mesin yang membutuhkan proses perbaikan yang lama.Kata kunci: CPM, efektivitas perbaikan kapal, analisis jaringan kerja

Abstract

ABSTRACTIce as a cooling medium in the handling of fresh fish is widely used. Information about the rate of temperature change and the rate of melting of ice in the fish storage box is not available. Therefore, this research needs to be conducted to determine the ability of different forms of ice to decrease the temperature of the ice box where they are placed. The objectives of this research are to calculate the rate of ice melting and the rate of temperature change in the box that contains the bulk ice and crushed ice, and compare the ability of bulk ice and crushed ice to cool temperature inside the storage box fish. Experimental method was applied in this research, which data collection consisted of a total volume of ice melted and the temperature in the box per unit time. The research results showed that the bulk ice has the ability to cool the space they occupy much faster when compared with crushed ice. In addition, bulk ice melt faster when compared with crushed ice.Keywords: ice, the rate of melting of ice, the rate of temperature change-------ABSTRAKPenggunaan es sebagai media pendinginan dalam penanganan ikan segar merupakan yang paling umum digunakan. Informasi tentang laju perubahan suhu dan laju pelelehan es di dalam boks penyimpanan ikan belum tersedia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui kemampuan es dalam bentuk yang berbeda untuk menurunkan suhu boks dimana es tersebut ditempatkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghitung laju pelelehan es dan laju perubahan suhu di dalam boks yang berisi es curah dan es hancuran serta membandingkan kemampuan es curah dan es hancuran untuk mendinginkan suhu di dalam boks tempat penyimpanan ikan. Pengambilan data dilakukan terhadap jumlah volume lelehan es dan suhu di dalam boks per satuan waktu dengan menggunakan metode experimental. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa es curah memiliki kemampuan untuk mendinginkan ruang yang ditempatinya lebih cepat jika dibandingkan dengan es hancuran. Selain itu, es curah lebih cepat meleleh jika dibandingkan dengan es hancuran.Kata kunci: es, laju pelelehan es, laju perubahan suhu

Abstract

In the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affair Decree No. 45/2014 stated that an environmental consideration should take into account in controlling waste in fishing port area, including ship-generated waste. Marine pollution is one of the factors cause environmental damage including marine environment. Fishing activities is one of activites that has the potential to cause pollution of the sea. The objective of this research was to identify the waste type generated by fishing vessels and identify fishermens’s behavior patterns on the waste handling. The research was conducted in PPN Palabuhanratu (Palabuhanratu Nusantara Fishing Port). The data of waste type were collected from all kind of fishing vessels that grouped base on their dimension. The results show that, organic waste dominated the waste compotition, and from the fishers habit point of view most fishers still ignore the importance of marine pollution prevention effort. Abstract

ABSTRACT The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) through the Directorate General of Capture Fisheries (DJPT) provides assistance in the form of fishing vessels to fishermen. However, the aid vessels intended for Cilacap had an empty weight that was heavier when compared to other vessels that had the same main dimensions of the vessel. The vessel that have heavier empty weights will cause poor motion when operating and reduced capacity to accommodate the vessel. The purpose of this research are to calculate the difference in the weights of aid vessel and fishing vessel, formulate the maximum weight of cargo that can be accommodated by aid vessel and fishing vessel through TPC calculations, and estimate the level of income of fishermen per trip with the maximum weight set. The research was conducted on aid vessel and 3 GT sized fishermen vessel made of fiberglass which have different vessel weights. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the empty weight of the aid vessel was 277,1847 kg and the fishermen vessel was 95,4165 kg with the difference between the two vessels 181,7682 kg. The maximum cargo weight that can be accommodated by the aid vessel at the highest draft is 3.98 tons. The maximum cargo weight that can be accommodated by fishing vessel at the highest draft is 5.98 tons. The estimated revenue of the aid vessel in the condition of a maximum load of Rp. 29,371,620 and the estimated income of fishing vessel in the condition of a maximum load of Rp. 46,081,620. Abstract

Kapal penangkap ikan hand line di Kendari Indonesia sebagian besar dioperasikan tanpa dilengkapi alat bantu penangkapan ikan. Oleh karena itu untuk meningkatkan produktifitasnya maka diperlukan alat bantu penangkapan ikan seperti lampu LED. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membandingkan efektifitas hasil tangkapan kapal ikan (hand line) yang dilengkapi dengan lampu LED dengan hasil tangkapan tanpa menggunakan lampu LED. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan sekitar perairan bagian timur Kota Kendari, Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah dengan metode experimental fishing, dimana peneliti langsung melakukan eksperimen penangkapan ikan di lapangan untuk mengambil data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Lampu LED pada kapal penangkap ikan memberikan hasil tangkapan yang lebih banyak sekitar 22.30 % dibandingkan dengan kapal penangkap ikan yang tanpa menggunakan lampu LED. Jenis jenis ikan yang ditangkap adalah: Decapterus sp, Rastrelliger sp, Sardinella sp, Selaroides sp, Coryphaenidae sp, Euthynnus Affinis,Lutjanus Sp, dan Epinephelus Sp. Dengan demikian kapal ikan (hand line) yang diberikan kepada nelayan sebagai kapal bantuan dapat bermanfaat secara maksimal.Kata kunci: penangkapan ikan, lampu LED, produktifitas, jenis ikan

Abstract

The fishing vessel is the main vehicle of the fishermen to go to fishing ground and hauling purse seine especially fishing gear. Pinrang Regency ships traditionally built without calculation of naval architecture. Where the purse seine fishing gear in Pinrang Regency has length 330 m nets with a depth of 36 m. The purpose of this research was to examine the main dimension ratio in particular design and static stability of the vessel purse seine in Pinrang Regency. Method of using a case study on two types of vessels have different relative and analyzed by numerical simulation, calculate the ratio of the main dimensions and static stability. The results of this research are the vessels in Pinrang kasko model has the shape of a round bottom and slim body as well as the ratio of the dimensions of the vessels only L/D purse seine LOA 24 m more than the standard reference of vessels (encircling) in Indonesia and on the value of the static stability by the IMO, with a purse seine vessel Pinrang already has a good stability. However, in both types of vessel purse seine size 20 m that has better stability. Keywords: design, fishing vessel, purse seine, stability

Abstract

Kajian ini merupakan tahap awal dari kajian yang bertujuan menentukan ketebalan minimal lapisan laminasi FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) pada kapal kayu ukuran 5-7 GT (Gross Tonnage). Konstruksi laminasi FRP bertujuan mengurangi kontak langsung bagian kapal dengan air disekitarnya serta mampu menahan benturan kapal ketika sandar pada dermaga khususnya bagian kasko kapal. Saat ini laminasi FRP dilakukan berdasarkan keahlian dan pengalaman yang dimiliki oleh pengrajin. Tujuan dari kajian ini untuk mengetahui kekuatan benturan pada kapal yang akan dijadikan acuan untuk menentukan ketebalan laminasi FRP. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan identifikasi dimensi utama kapal, kecepatan kapal dan kekuatan benturan yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif numerik. Data diperoleh dari 13 kapal sampel selama bulan Oktober-Desember 2019. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kapal yang digunakan termasuk towed or dragged gear. Dimensi utama kapal dengan rata-rata Loa 9,5 m; Bmax 3,2 m; D 1,2 m dengan ton displacement 13,6 ton/m3. Kecepatan kapal ketika terjadi benturan pertama mengalami penurunan berkisar 0,4-1,0 m/s atau sekitar 20-75%. Kekuatan benturan yang terjadi pada kapal ketika benturan pertama berkisar 7,13-87,48 kN.m. Oleh karena itu, kekuatan bentur yang akan dijadikan acuan dalam menentukan ketebalan lapisan laminasi FRP pada kapal kayu adalah sebesar 87,48 kN.m.

Abstract

Kapal pengangkut ikan hidup adalah merupakan kapal pengangkut yang khusus digunakan untuk mengangkut ikan-ikan dalam kondisi hidup. Oleh karena itu, muatan utamanya adalah air dan ikan. Ditinjau dari jenis muatannya, maka muatan kapal pengangkut ikan hidup dikategorikan sebagai jenis muatan (cair) liquid. Sifat muatan cair adalah akan selalu berubah bentuk mengikuti bentuk wadah yang ditempatinya, sehingga titik berat muatan cair akan selalu bergeser. Kondisi ini dikarenakan muatan cair memiliki permukaan bebas (free surface). Free surface memiliki efek yang dapat mempengaruhi stabilitas kapal pengangkut muatan cair. Pergeseran titik berat muatan itulah yang menyebabkan kapal bermuatan cair menjadi berkurang kestabilannya jika dibandingkan dengan kapal yang bermuatan padat. Oleh karena itu perlu upaya untuk mengurangi efek free surface terhadap stabilitas kapal.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh luasan free surface terhadap kualitas gerakan rolling model kapal. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan cara mengamati gerakan rolling model kapal sebagai efek dari keberadaan palka dengan beberapa perlakuan berbeda dan pergerakan free surface-nya. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa nilai rata-rata rolling period model kapal dengan luas free surface yang berbeda adalah berbeda.  Rolling period terbesar dihasilkan oleh model palka yang memiliki free surface terluas. Kata kunci : free surface, stabilitas, rolling periodLife fish carrier is one kind of ship that designed for transporting life fish.  This kind of ship bring most water in its hold tank beside life fishes, so that the cargo can be categorized as liquid cargo. As it is known that shape of liquid cargo is always folllow the shape of the container where it is laden, consequently the centre of gravity (CG) is always shifted due to free surface effect.  The shifted of CG may decrease stability, so it is needed some effort to ovecome the free surface effect in this kind of ship. The objective of this research was to know the influence of free surface area towards quality of rolling motion of  ship models.  The research was carried out in a laboratory and direct observation to roling motion of  some ship models were observed with variation of treatments. The result showed that average of rolling period was influenced by area of free surface, the higher rolling period was produced by the ship  model with widest free surface area.
