Abstract

Gastropod is a biotic component which is important in river ecosystem. Gastropod will respond the changes of physical and chemical condition of the river so that it can be the bio-indicator of the contamination. This research is aimed to know the diversity of gastropod as bio-indicator of contamination of leachate of Jatibarang dumping ground in Kreo river Semarang City. This research was conducted on April until June 2015. Gastropod sample was got using purposive sampling using Surber Net. Gastropod sampling was conducted in three station with three sampling spots in each station, physical-chemical factor measurement including temperature, brightness, pH, COD, DO and BOD was also conducted in every station. The analysis of research result showed that diversity index and the number of gastropod decreased in station which was contamined by leachate. The contaminated station was station II. Diversity index was 0,66094 and the number of gastropod was 114 ind/m2. This condition was different compared to station I which had not been contaminated. In station I, diversity index was 1,03255 and the number of gastropod was 175 ind/m2. So was the station which got the recovery, the station III, where diversity index was 0,82691 and the number of gastropod was 140 ind/m2. Statistical analysis result also showed that gastropod diversity correlated strongly to temperature, brightness, pH, COD, DO and BOD on Kreo river. This result showed that gastropod responded the changes of physical-chemical condition of Kreo river which was caused by the contamination of leachate of Jatibarang dumping ground. From the research result, it can be concluded that gastropod diversity on Kreo river can be used as bio-indicator of the contamination of leachate of Jatibarang dumping ground.Keywords: leachate, Jatibarang dumping ground, gastropod, Kreo river

Abstract

Plankton is the important organisms in aquatic ecosystems. Kreo river subjacent landfill leachate tank Jatibarang interchangeable physicochemical changes by leachate contaminants which enter the river due to leakage of leachate tank. The will impact on the diversity and abundance of plankton. The aims of this study is apperceiving Jatibarang leachate influence the diversity and abundance of plankton in Kreo River. The study was conducted from April to May 2015. Plankton samples taken by purposive sampling using a plankton net which 25 number with a mesh size of 40 µm. Sampling was conducted plankton with four stations of three sampling each points of stations and physicochemical measurements that include temperature, brightness, pH, COD, and BOD. That are contaminated leachate of II stations with an index of H’ value 1.40 and abudance 75 ind/l and the stations III with index H’ value 1,53 and abudance 95 ind/l. The location padding contaiminatef leachate that the stations I had an index value H’ 195 and abudance values 191 ind/l and stations which has undergone restoration gas an index value H’ 2,07 and abudance 207 ind/l. From the results shows that Jatibarang landfill leachate that entered the Kreo River affect the physicochemichal conditions of water allows for lowering the diversity and abudance of plankton Keywords: leachate, landfill Jatibarang, plankton, Kreo river

Abstract

Penelitian untuk mengkaji kondisi perairan zona littoral  danau Rawa Pening telah dilakukan pada tanggal 5 Juni hingga 28 Agustus 2012. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami kondisi lingkungan zona littoral perairan danau Rawa Pening ditinjau dari kondisi fisiografi dan kondisi fisiko-kimia perairan. Penelitian dirancang dalam bentuk observasi. Penelitian dilakukan pada delapan stasiun yang ditetapkan berdasarkan keragaman kondisi lingkungan perairan yang ada. Pengambilan data dilakukan setiap dua bulan sekali selama tiga  kali. Data yang diambil meliputi kondisi fisiografi dan parameter-parameter fisiko-kimia perairan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kondisi fisiografi dan fisiko-kimia zona littoral danau Rawa Pening relatif sama pada semua stasiun penelitian. Zona littoral danau Rawa Pening memiliki topografi datar hingga landai, tidak ada pepohonan besar sebagai naungan dan berbatasan dengan lahan tegalan, sawah atau permukiman. Temperatur air hangat dengan warna coklat keruh hingga jernih, ph tergolong netral, kandungan oksigen relatif tinggi, arus sangat lambat, substart dasar berupa lumpur dengan kedalaman relatif dangkal.  Kata kunci : kondisi fisiografi, fisiko-kimia, zona littoral, Rawa Pening.
