Abstract

Students with special needs have the right to pursue an education as equal as the other regular students so they are able to develop their self potentials and socialize with common societies. Therefore, there are 25 inclusive schools (Non- SLB) spread around Surabaya since 2009, helping to break the education gaps for these students. Students with special needs are classified into those who are deaf or mentally disabled, have learning difficulties, slow learners, and down-syndromes. Students with above average IQ are put into considerations and becoming the main reason to be in acceptance of students with special needs in order to receive the equal education with the regular students. At SMP 29 Surabaya, there are currently 52 students with special needs studying in the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades in the hope of getting the equal subject materials with the ones that regular students have. In this case being the subject’s teacher, teachers are required to have certain pedagogical competency. Implementing pedagogical communication requires certain mastery of psychological and interpersonal communication for the students. Irwin Altman and Damas Taylor proposed a social penetration theory that is related to interpersonal relations and internal cognitive developments. The methodology of this study was conducted with descriptive-qualitative through in-depth interviews, both for regular teachers and competent teachers suited with classification of students with special needs. The results of the study found that there is a need for supervision by teachers who have certain competency of pedagogical communication of students with special needs, especially with the aim to help developing students' confidence and discover their potential, both through primary and secondary communication.

Abstract

The declining quality of YouTube content created by content creators in Indonesia has received satirical criticism by Skinnyindonesian24 by viewing three video series entitled YouTube's Got Talent. This study aims to analyze the types of satire criticism on the three videos and explore the pros and cons of the quality of satire criticism from Skinnyindonesian24 subscribers. This qualitative research uses a virtual ethnographic approach by virtually interviewing five informants, namely Fadlilah Nur Ramdani or @fdlh.rmdn, Ilham Pratama Rysan or @ilhampratamar, Salsabila Hanifah or @chacash, Wahyu Zulfi or @wahyuss, and Aisyah Ramadhani or @aisyahajagt. In addition, the researchers were involved in a participatory virtual chat through the comment’s column on the Skinnyindonesian24 Youtube account. The satire content on Youtube's Got Talent video shows that YouTube's program culture is like a TV show that contains 'gimmicks' and 'settings' that deceive the audience for the benefit of the content creators. YouTube has experienced the stereotype of content creators with beautiful faces and beautiful bodies. YouTube viewers are more interested in content that is not important but fun, content with dramatic effects, or sexual things. This study concludes that the satire criticism in Youtube's Got Talent video follows the current conditions of the YouTube world in Indonesia. Skinnyindonesian24 provides education to YouTube content creators in Indonesia to create more quality content and not just achieve the number of viewers and subscribers.

Abstract

The rapid growth of internet resulted in increasing internet users in Indonesia. Today the internet is easily found in Indonesian family homes. Therefore, many early age children who already know the internet. Even the children are deliberately facilitated by their parents to be able to easily access the internet. The condition is of course very worrying because of the impact of the internet is also great for the development of children. Some studies also illustrate that the internet disrupts relationships within the family. This study examines how Mother's role in protecting her children against the invasion of the internet. This study uses a Computer-Mediated-Communication (CMC) perspective which states that computers have changed the shape of human social relationships. This brings with it social and cultural consequences in human life. This research was conducted by using the qualitative method with maternal and child analysis unit as a research subject. The technique of data retrieval is done by using in-depth interview and observation participant whereas technique analyzes data use descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that Mother still assesses the existence of the internet in the house needed to support the activities of his children, including in helping complete school tasks. Therefore, parents easily provide support facilities so that their children can easily access the internet. Furthermore, this research also shows that in performing assistance there are three categories that apply the rules in using the internet, doing active mediation, and activity online together.

Abstract

The teenagers in Gunungsari village, Bumiaji sub-district already have a smartphone and use the gadget without any guidance and assistance from their parents, most of whom are farmers and farm workers with a low level of education. The dropout rate is quite high as a result of the increasing unemployment rate and immoral issues have surfaced in the life of Gunungsari people since their children got to know the internet. The purpose of this community service program is to apply the results of digital literacy research and mentoring youth in using digital media in a healthy way and how mothers can assist children in using the internet in a healthy manner. The results obtained from the Digital Literacy training in adolescents who are adolescents of Gunungsari village are able to protect their privacy in cyberspace and teenagers can have good digital literacy. Whereas in the Mother group, digital literacy has been achieved even though at the basic stage, it is around the issue of how to protect children from dependence on the internet and the mothers have downloaded applications that can be used to protect children

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi saat ini semakin berkembang terutama internet. Dengan adanya internet dapat memudahkan masyarakat untuk berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi dengan satu sama lain. Dengan memanfaatkan internet dapat menguntungkan dalam segala pihak, dengan ini pihak public relation Indosat terutama di wilayah Mojokerto, menggunakan internet untuk menjalankan strategi dan peran penting untuk membangun citra positif di masyarakat. Dengan kata lain, menciptakan program yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat di masa pandemi. Fokus penelitian ini adalah Customer Relationship Management public relation Indosat Mojokerto dalam menjalin hubungan baik dengan pelanggan di masa pandemi. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu teori Customer Relationship Management. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang suatu masyarakatatau kelompok tentang suatu gejala atau hubungan yang ada didalamnya. Teknikpengumpulan data yang diambil adalah wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa dalam hal menjalin hubungan pihak humas Indosat Mojokertomembentuk suatu program yaitu Webinar Indosat guru dan sekolah. Program yangdijalankan sudah berjalan dengan baik serta masyarakat merasa puas akan program yang telah dilakukan oleh pihak indosat Mojokerto.

Abstract

This study examines how the phenomenon of shopping for imported used clothes is still suitable for use, which is commonly known as thrift. Many teenagers, especially in Surabaya, are interested in thrifting activities at their favorite thrift shop. This habit gives rise to a new culture commonly known as popular culture, a trend that is currently emerging, favored and created by the community. The purpose of this study was to find out how the understanding, experience, and motivation of the community, especially among Surabaya teenagers regarding the "Thriftshop" phenomenon. The research method used is a qualitative type with a phenomenological approach. This study uses Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the thrift shop phenomenon has many enthusiasts who come from among teenagers. There are various motivations behind why teenagers are more interested in shopping and using thrift shop clothes. That is to support the style of dress, the goods sold in the thrift shop have relatively cheap prices, besides that, by shopping at the thrift shop, teenagers can get good, unique (limited edition) goods or clothes. branded. Abstract

Penelitian ini menggambarkan persepsi masyarakat Surabaya mengenai isi pemberitaan persyaratan perjalanan dalam negeri pada masa pandemi di media online. Berdasarkan pantauan pemerintah pada akhir tahun 2021 bahswasannya gerakan vaksinasi telah memenuhi target dan kasus penyebaran Covid-19 sudah terkontrol. Sehingga terjadi pelonggaran mobilitas yang dimanfatakan masyarakat untuk melakukan kegiatan bepergian ke luar kota, mengingat sebelumnya pemerintah melanggar masyarakatnya untuk bepergian. Agar penyebaran kasus tetap terkontrol, pemerintah memperketat aturan atau syarat yang harus dipenuhi masyarakat sebelum bepergian yang tercantum melalui Surat Edaran Satgas Covid-19 Nomor 21 Tahun 2021. Selang beberapa hari kemudian, pemerintah kembali memperbarui persyartan perjalanan melalui Surat Edaran Menteri Perhubungan No. 90, lalu adanya pembaruan kembali melalui Surat Edaran Satgas Covid-19 Nomor 22 Tahun 2021. Perubahan kebijakan yang beberapa kali terjadi dalam waktu dekat tersebut menjadi fenomena sosial yang mengundang pro dan kontra sehingga menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini menggambarkan persepsi masyrakat Surabaya dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriktif. Data primer didapatkan dengan mewawancarai delapan informan dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan enam dari delapan informan tergolong persepsi negatif karena menyatakan ketidakefektifan persyartan, sedangkan dua informan lainnya tergolong persepsi positif karena berpendapat persyartan tersebut efektif.

Abstract

Media merupakan pengkonstruksi realitas. Berita yang disampaikan oleh media massa bukanlah kejadian yang seutuhnya, melainkan kejadian yang sudah dikonstruksi melalui bahasa menjadi suatu realitas. Salah satu pemberitaan yang menuai pro dan kontra di masyarakat adalah berita pemilihan Nagita Slavina sebagai ikon PON XX 2021 Papua. Banyak media yang memberitakan hal ini, termasuk media online Kompas.com dan CNNIndonesia.com. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti dan menganalisa bagaimana Kompas.com dan CNNIndonesia.com mengkonstruksi pemberitaan pemilihan Nagita Slavina sebagai ikon PON XX 2021 Papua untuk kemudian disampaikan kepada masyarakat (audiens). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik analisis framing menurut Zhongdang Pan dan Kosicki. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa Kompas.com membingkai pemberitaan ini dengan lebih to the point dan cenderung mendukung keputusan pemilihan ikon PON yang ada karena pertimbangan misi sosialisasi. Sedangkan CNNIndonesia.com membingkai pemberitaan ini dengan menyertakan narasumber yang lebih bervariatif dan cenderung tidak mendukung pemilihan Nagita Slavina sebagai ikon PON XX 2021 Papua ini.

Abstract

Covid-19 secara tidak langsung memicu munculnya communication challenges yakni information overload, information uncertainty, dan misinformation. Pengabaian terhadap tantangan tersebut hanya akan memperparah kondisi krisis seperti yang dialami Iran ketika ratusan warganya meninggal akibat penyalahgunaan alkohol ataupun rusaknya menara jaringan 5G di Inggris. Oleh karena itu tantangan ini perlu diatasi pemerintah selaku pemangku kebijakan agar penanganan Covid-19 dapat berjalan optimal. Pada penelitian ini peneliti hendak mengetahui bagaimana strategi komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh Pemkot Surabaya sebagai kota yang memiliki risiko penularan dan tingkat kebutuhan informasi yang tinggi dalam menghadapi communication challenges di tengah masyarakat selama pandemi Covid-19. Melalui metode penelitian studi kasus dan pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi serta riset kepustakaan peneliti mendapatkan hasil bahwa strategi Pemkot Surabaya melalui 4 fase yakni persiapan, awal krisis, pemeliharaan, dan resolusi. Dimana pada fase persiapan dan resolusi, aktivitas komunikasi pemerintah berfokus pada membangun reputasi dan pengetahuan dasar masyarakat sebagai persiapan menghadapi communication challenges yang akan datang. Sedangkan pada fase awal krisis dan pemeliharaan pemkot fokus mengelola communication challenges yang ada, sehingga hambatan akibat communication challenges dapat diminimalisir dampaknya.

Abstract

The party is one embodiment of a form of democracy. This is due to the function of political parties which are a form of bridge for people's aspirations and at the same time a mirror of the political level in society. This is one of the concrete manifestations of the democratic leadership of the Indonesian state, which means that the highest power is in the hands of the people. In the political parties in Indonesia, many parties are now emerging. One of them is PSI. PSI is an abbreviation of the Indonesian Solidarity Party. PSI is one of the political parties that takes advantage of the development of social mrfia, one of which is Instagram. In this study, the research object studied was the Instagram account of the DPD PSI Surabaya (@psi_surabaya). This study aims to determine the perceptions of UPN Jatim students towards the Instagram account @psi_surabaya in forming a positive image of the party through social media.
