Abstract

ABSTRAK Identitas produk merupakan elemen penting dalam meningkatkan daya saing Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di pasar yang semakin kompetitif. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat identitas produk lokal melalui asistensi pembuatan label bagi UMKM-KUEP “Berkah Bersama” di Kelurahan Surabaya, Kecamatan Sungai Serut. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan desain label, serta pendampingan dalam implementasi label pada produk. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa UMKM peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman tentang pentingnya label sebagai strategi branding dan pemasaran. Selain itu, penggunaan label yang profesional meningkatkan daya tarik produk dan memperluas jangkauan pemasaran. Dengan adanya asistensi ini, diharapkan UMKM-KUEP "Berkah Bersama" mampu meningkatkan daya saingnya di pasar lokal maupun nasional. ABSTRACT Product identity is a crucial element in enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in an increasingly competitive market. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to strengthen local product identity through label creation assistance for the "Berkah Bersama" MSME-KUEP in Surabaya Village, Sungai Serut District. The methods used included outreach, label design training, and assistance in implementing labels on products. The results of this activity indicate that participating MSMEs experienced an increased understanding of the importance of labels as a branding and marketing strategy. Furthermore, the use of professional labels increases product appeal and expands marketing reach. With this assistance, it is hoped that the "Berkah Bersama" MSME-KUEP will be able to increase its competitiveness in both local and national markets.

Abstract

Stunting masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia, terutama di wilayah pedesaan dengan keterbatasan akses informasi gizi. Desa Sri Kuncoro, Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah, menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai gizi seimbang pada ibu hamil, ibu menyusui, dan orang tua balita. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang gizi seimbang sebagai upaya pencegahan stunting. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi dan penyuluhan gizi, diskusi interaktif, pembagian media edukasi, serta demonstrasi pengolahan makanan bergizi berbasis pangan lokal. Mitra kegiatan adalah masyarakat dan kader posyandu Desa Sri Kuncoro dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 35 orang. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 54 menjadi 81 atau meningkat sebesar 50%. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan posyandu dan komitmen penerapan pola makan gizi seimbang di tingkat keluarga.

Abstract

Motivational regulation and behavioral engagement influence academic reading in EFL higher education, yet many students struggle to stay motivated and actively involved in demanding tasks. Prior research has often treated these constructs separately and relied on self-report data, so we still know little about how students regulate their motivation in practice or how this connects to their observable engagement. This study aims to examine how motivational regulation relates to behavioral engagement in EFL academic reading. It also aims to identify the strategies students use to regulate motivation and sustain engagement during cognitively demanding reading tasks through a mixed-methods approach. The participants were 114 third-semester EFL students from four universities in Bengkulu, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling based on their enrollment in academic reading courses. Quantitative data were collected through a motivational regulation and engagement questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis to identify patterns and relationships between constructs. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and analyzed thematically to explain the quantitative results. The findings indicate that students demonstrated relatively high behavioral engagement in academic reading (M = 3.17). Students also reported strong goal-directed motivation (M = 3.33) and self-regulation (M = 3.10–3.25). Qualitative evidence suggests that students who actively regulate their motivation are more likely to continue reading difficult texts and complete their tasks. Interview results further revealed that goal setting, effort regulation, and perceived task value supported sustained engagement in reading activities. These findings highlight motivational regulation as a key mechanism supporting behavioral engagement in EFL academic reading. The study contributes empirical evidence showing how goal setting, time management, and comprehension monitoring support sustained engagement during demanding reading tasks. Pedagogically, the findings suggest that academic reading instruction should explicitly integrate motivational regulation strategies through structured pre-reading goals, guided monitoring activities, and reflective tasks to help students sustain effort and engagement in higher education EFL contexts.
