Abstract

Abstrak: Bermain, dari segi pendidikan adalah kegiatan permainan menggunakan alat permainan yang mendidik serta alat yang bisa merangsang perkembangan aspek kognitif, sosial, emosi, dan fisik yang dimiliki anak atau yang disebut dengan permainan edukatif. Maka guna mengurangi trauma anak pada dampak bencana gempa pada tahun 2018 lalu. Tim pengabdian bersama mahasiswa melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian sebagai kegiatan psikososial dengan mengajak dan mengajar anak-anak terdampak tersebut dengan memberikan permainan edukatif dengan tahapan kegiatannya dimulai dari pemutaran film animasi gempa bumi, sesi tanya jawab, dan bermain edukasi untuk mengurangi trauma anak mengenai kejadian bencana yang terjadi di tahun 2018 lalu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan self awareness anak usia sekolah sampai menengah yang ada di Desa Aik Berik Kecamatan Batukliang Utara Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Kegiatan ini akan dilakukan selama 8 (delapan) pekan dalam 2 (dua) bulan dengan menggunakan metode observasi atau pengamatan langsung, dan metode tindakan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan: a) adanya pemahaman tentang mitigasi bencana pada anak-anak dan masyarakat yang menemani anak-anak mereka  untuk meningkatkan self awareness mereka tentang bencana, b) Dimilikinya pengembangan pengetahuan, ketrampilan dengan menggunakan permainan edukatif untuk mengurangi trauma dampak gempa yang terjadi tahun 2018 lalu. Dan c) Dimilikinya pemahaman tentang kesiapsiagaan akan mitigasi bencana.Abstract: Play, in terms of education, is a game activity using educational game tools as well as tools that can stimulate the development of cognitive, social, emotional, and physical aspects that children have or so-called educational games. So to reduce the trauma of children in the aftermath of the earthquake disaster in 2018. The community service team of students carried out the devotional activities as psychosocial activities by inviting and teaching the affected children by providing educational games with the stages of the activity starting from the screening of earthquake animated films, question and answer sessions, and playing education to reduce the trauma of children about the disastrous events that occurred in 2018 then to improve the knowledge, skills, and self-awareness of school-age children until secondary in Aik Berik village of Batukliang District North Lombok Tengah Regency. This activity will be carried out for 8 (eight) weeks in 2 (two) months using observation or direct observation methods, and methods of action. The results of the activity show: a) an understanding of disaster mitigation in children and communities accompanying their children to increase their self-awareness about disasters, b) The development of knowledge, skills by using educational games to reduce the trauma of earthquake impacts that occurred in 2018. And c) His understanding of disaster mitigation preparedness.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pojok literasi atau pojok baca merupakan pemanfaatan sudut ruang sebagai tempat koleksi buku. Pojok  baca  ini  diharapkan  dapat  merangsang  peserta  didik untuk lebih gemar membaca dan melakukan aktivitas lain yang dapat mengembangkan potensi dan daya pikir mereka. Maka oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dipandang perlu untuk dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk membuat pojok literasi dan membudayakan minat serta kebiasaan membaca khususnya bahasa inggris melalui buku atau bahan bacaan dengan menggunkan metode observasi, storytelling dan wawancara. Adapun hasil dan temuan dari kegiatan ini adalah a. meningkatkan minat baca dan pengetahuan juga pemahaman tentang  bahasa inggris untuk menumbuhkan jiwa kreatif dan inovatif dalam diri mahasiswa umumnya dan pemuda juga anak usia sekolah di desa Sesaot ini pada khususnya sebagai tempat atau lokasi pengabdian tim PBI dan PBSI FKIP UMMAT, b. mengembangkan kreasi, daya cipta dan pengalaman mereka untuk menggunakan metode storytelling sebagai cara atau metode dalam peningkatan kemampuan berbahasa inggris dan dapat mengaplikasikan metode lainnya untuk kegiatan berikutnya, c. mengembangkan semua potensi yang dimiliki tim dan mahasiswa yang lebih melekatkan dasar kearah perkembangan sikap, pengetahuan, dan ketrampilan untuk menyesuaikan diri dan peka dengan kondisi lingkungan dimana pandemi covid-19 ini sedang berlangsung di seluruh wilayah Indonesia, d. tumbuhnya sikap tepo seliro dan awareness atau sikap peduli sesama sehingga menimbulkan dampak psikologis yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat dan mahasiswa selama masa pandemi ini.Abstract: The literacy corner or reading corner is the use of a space in the corner as a book collection place. This reading corner is expected to stimulate students to be more fond of reading and do other activities that can develop their potential and thinking power. Therefore, this community service activity is deemed necessary to be carried out with the aim of creating a literacy corner and cultivating interest and reading habits, especially English through books or reading materials using observation, storytelling and interview methods. The results and findings of this activity are a. increasing their interest in reading and knowledge as well as understanding of English to foster a creative and innovative spirit in students in especially to the youth and school-age children in Sesaot village in particular as a place or location for the dedication of the PBI and PBSI FKIP UMMAT teams, b. develop their creativity and experience to use the storytelling method as a way or method in improving English language skills and can apply other methods for the next activity, c. develop the potential of the all team and students who are more attached to the basis towards the development of attitudes, knowledge, and skills to adapt and be sensitive to environmental conditions where the covid-19 pandemic is taking place throughout Indonesia, d. growth of the attitude and awareness or caring attitudes for others so that it has a psychological impact that is beneficial to the community and students during this pandemic Covid-19.

Abstract

ABSTRAKMinyak kelapa murni, atau lebih dikenal dengan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), adalah modifikasi proses pembuatan minyak kelapa sehingga dihasilkan produk dengan kadar air dan kadar asam lemak bebas yang rendah, berwarna bening, berbau harum, serta mempunyai daya simpan yang cukup lama yaitu lebih dari 12 bulan. Virgin coconut oil mengandung asam laurat CH3(CH2)10COOH 50% dan asam kaprilat CH3(CH2)6COOH 7%. Kedua asam ini merupakan asam lemak jenuh rantai sedang yang mudah dimetabolisir dan bersifat anti mikroba. Di dalam tubuh, asam laurat menjadi monolaurin, sedangkan asam kaprilat menjadi monokaprin (Sutarmi, 2006). Monolaurin adalah monogliserida antiviral, antibakteri dan antiprotozoal yang digunakan oleh sistem kekebalan manusia dan hewan untuk menghancurkan virus-virus pelindung lemak, seperti HIV, herves, influenza berbagai bakteri patogen. Asam kaprat yang juga berfungsi sebagai zat kekebalan tubuh ketika diubah menjadi monokaprin di dalam tubuh manusia atau hewan. Monokaprin memiliki efek antiviral terhadap HIV dan herpen simplex serta bakteri yang tertular melalui hubungan seks (Novarianto, 2007). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa minyak ini memiliki banyak manfaat sehingga tim PKM memandang perlu mengadakan  pelatihan pembuatan minyak VCO yang diadakan di desa Danging Kabupaten Lombok Utara yang memiliki sumber daya alam yang besar yang merupakan desa terdampak bencana gempa tahun 2018 lalu. Metode observasi partisipatoris atau observasi partisipan dan praktik langsung telah dipergunakan dalam PKM ini dengan melibatkan pula Komunitas Relawan Mataram yang juga tergabung dalam Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre (MDMC) Nusa Tenggara Barat. Hasil capaian dan kesimpulan dalam kegiatan ini adalah a. dimilikinya pengetahuan dan pemahaman yang merupakan upaya pemberdayaan bagi para perempuan di desa ini agar memiliki ketrampilan dalam pengolahan kelapa khususnya pembuatan minyak VCO, dan b. memberikan ketrampilan yang lebih akan pemanfaatan sumber daya alam agar menjadi tambahan penghasilan atau mampu meningkatkan pendapatan (income) yang cukup potensial sebagai langkah awal membangun masyarakat yang berdayaguna. Kata kunci: kelapa; minyak VCO ABSTRACTPure coconut oil, otherwise known as Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), is a modification of the making process which produces products with low moisture and fatty acid content that is clear, clear in color, smells good, and has a long shelf life of more than 12 months. Virgin coconut oil contains CH3(CH2)10COOH 50% lauric acid and CH3(CH2)6COOH 7% kaprilic acid. Both of these acids are medium-chain saturated fatty acids that are easily metabolized and anti-microbial. In the body, lauric acid becomes monolaurin, while kaprilic acid becomes monokaprin (Sutarmi, 2006). Monolaurin is an antiviral, antibacterial and antiprotozoal monoglyceride used by the human and animal immune systems to destroy fat-protective viruses, such as HIV, herves, influenza and various pathogenic bacteria. Kaprat acid also serves as an immune substance when converted into monokaprin in the human or animal body. Monokaprin has antiviral effects on HIV and herpen simplex as well as bacteria infected through sex (Novarianto, 2007). Based on this, it can be said that this oil has many benefits, so that the PKM team considers it necessary to hold vco oil manufacturing training which held in Danging village of North Lombok Regency which has a large natural resource that is a village affected earthquake by the 2018. Participatory observation methods or observations of participants and direct practice have been used in this PKM by involving mataram volunteer community which is also incorporated in Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre (MDMC) West Nusa Tenggara. The results of the achievements and conclusions in this activity are a. knowledge and understanding which is an empowerment effort for women in this village to have skills in coconut processing, especially making vco oil, and b. provide more skills for utilization of natural resources in order to be additional or able to increase income that is potential enough as the first step in building a empowered society. Keywords: coconut; VCO oil.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenyelenggaraan penanggulangan bencana dalam situasi terdapat potensi terjadi bencana sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Pasal 34 huruf b meliputi kesiap siagaan, peringatan dini dan mitigasi bencana (Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 24,2007 tentang Penanggulangan Bencana). Mitigasi bencana adalah serangkaian upaya untuk mengurangi resiko bencana, baik melalui pembangunan fisik maupun penyadaran dan peningkatan kemampuan menghadapi bencana, mitigasi bencana merupakan suatu aktivitas yang berperan sebagai tindakan pengurangan dampak bencana atau usaha-usaha yang dilakukan untuk mengurangi korban ketika bencana terjadi baik korban jiwa maupun harta. Besarnya potensi ancaman bencana di Indonesia menyebabkan peluang masyarakat menjadi korban sangat besar terutama anak-anak dikarenakan mereka masih sangat rentan dan memiliki pengetahuan yang minim berkaitan dengan mitigasi bencana. Pemberdayaan anak usia sejak dini untuk memahami mitigasi bencana merupakan langkah awal membangun masyarakat sadar bencana sehingga ketika terjadi bencana  maka partisipan PKM yaitu guru dan anak-anak usia dini di MBS Sang Surya yang berada ditempat ini tidak lagi kebingungan dan panik karena telah memahami bagaimana cara mengatasi dan mengurangi resiko bencana. Dengan harapan pengetahuan yang didapat selama PKM ini ditularkan pada lingkungan sekitar dalam rangka mengurangi risiko bencana, maka metode observasi partisipatoris atau observasi partisipan dan role play atau metode praktik dipergunakan dalam PKM ini. Kegiatan ini dalam pelaksanaannya juga melibatkan tenaga ahli dan Komunitas Relawan Mataram (KRM) yang juga tergabung dalam Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Centre (MDMC) Nusa Tenggara Barat. Hasil capaian dan kesimpulan dalam kegiatan ini sebagai berikut: a} Telah adanya pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang mitigasi bencana sehingga setiap tindakan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan self awareness mereka tentang bencana yang potensial terjadi, dan b) Dimilikinya pengetahuan kesiapsiagaan akan mitigasi bencana yang bertujuan untuk mengatasi dan mengurangi dampak bencana atau resiko jangka panjang terhadap harta dan jiwa manusia. Kata kunci: mitigasi; bencana; anak usia dini. ABSTRACTImplementation of disaster management in potential situations as referred to in Article 34 letter b includes preparedness, early warning and disaster mitigation (Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24,2007 concerning Disaster Management). Disaster mitigation is a series of efforts to reduce the risk of disasters, both through physical development and awareness raising and capacity to deal with disasters, disaster mitigation is an activity that acts as an action to reduce the impact of disasters or efforts made to reduce casualties when disasters occur both casualties and treasure. The magnitude of the potential threat of disasters in Indonesia causes the opportunity for the community to become very large victims especially children because they are still very vulnerable and have minimal knowledge related to disaster mitigation. Empowerment of children from an early age to understand disaster mitigation is the first step in building a community aware of disasters occurs, PKM participants are teachers and early children in MBS Sang Surya who are in this place are no longer confused and panicked because they have understood how to overcome and reduce disaster risk. With the expectation that knowledge gained during PKM is transmitted to the surrounding environment in order to reduce disaster risk, participatory observation methods or participant observation and role play or practice methods are used. This activity in its implementation also involved experts and the Mataram Volunteer Community (KRM) who were also members of the West Nusa Tenggara Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC). The results and achievements in this activity are as follows: a} Knowledge and understanding of disaster mitigation has been created so that every action aims to increase their self-awareness about potential disasters, and b) Possess knowledge of disaster preparedness aimed at mitigating and reducing the impact of disasters or long-term risks on human assets and lives Keywords: mitigation; disaster; early children.

Abstract

Adams (1975) berpendapat bahwa permainan edukatif adalah semua bentuk permainan yang dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman pendidikan atau pengalaman belajar kepada para pemainnya, termasuk permainan tradisional dan moderen yang diberi muatan pendidikan dan pengajaran. Maka guna mengurangi trauma anak pada dampak bencana gempa pada tahun 2018 lalu, tim pengabdian bersama mahasiswa melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian sebagai kegiatan psikososial dengan mengajak dan mengajar anak-anak terdampak tersebut dengan memberikan permainan edukatif dengan tahapan kegiatannya dimulai dari pemutaran film animasi gempa bumi, sesi tanya jawab, dan bermain edukasi untuk mengurangi trauma anak mengenai kejadian bencana yang terjadi di tahun 2018 lalu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan self awareness anak usia sekolah sampai menengah yang ada di desa Aik Berik Kecamatan Batukliang Utara Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. The target and conclusion in this activity are as follows: a) An understanding of disaster mitigation for children and the community that will accompany their children to increase their self-awareness about disasters, b) Having the knowledge development and skills by using educational games to reduce trauma to the effects of the earthquake that occurred last 2018, and c) Having an understanding of disaster mitigation preparedness aimed at reducing the impact of disasters or efforts made to reduce casualties when disasters occur both fatalities and property. Keywords : educational game; psychosocial.

Abstract

Abstract:  Scaffolding is a teaching learning strategy in which the teacher and learners engage in a collaborative problem-solving activity with the support and guidance of the teacher to enable learners become increasingly independent. Scaffolding strategy can help students solved the task by their own and student can be understand the material. The purpose of this research is to know whether the use of scaffolding strategy is effective or not in teaching reading comprehension at the first grade students of SMA N 4 Mataram in academic year of 2017/2018. This study used Quasi Experimental Non-Equivalent Control Group Designs, the researcher was used pre-test and post-test. The sample of this research were all students of the first grade at SMAN 4 Mataram that consist of 78 students, 39 students of experimental group and 39 students of control group. The experimental group was taught by scaffolding strategy in teaching reading comprehension and the control group was taught without scaffolding strategy in teaching reading comprehension. The techniques of collecting data in this research used pre-test and post-test. Based on the result, the means score of students experimental group was 23,17 and the control group was 16,70. It was shows that score of experimental group was higher than control group. Whereas, the score of t-test was 2,70 and the score of t-table was 2,00 on the level of significance 0,05. this research shows that scaffolding strategy in teaching reading comprehension at the first grade students of SMAN 4 Mataram in Academic Year 2017/2018 is effective. So, based on the hypothesis that the researcher discussed before, the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas publikasi di Indonesia adalah pemerintah mewajibkan setiap lulusan diploma, sarjana bahkan pascasarjana untuk melakukan publikasi ilmiah dari hasil risetnya baik di jurnal nasional maupun internasional. Namun fakta di lapangan kuantitas tidak serta merta diikuti oleh kualitas publikasi ilmiah yang baik. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan kualitas publikasi ilmiah mahasiswa melalui workshop managemen referensi dengan software Mendeley serta proses submission hasil penelitian melalui template yang baik berbasis Open Journal System (OJS). Kegiatan ini telah diikuti oleh 83 mahasiswa bidang pendidikan dari delapan program studi. Workshop dilakukan selama tiga hari dengan metode penyampaian materi oleh instruktur disertai praktik langsung oleh mahasiswa, terakhir dilakukan evaluasi menggunakan teknik observasi dan teknik kuesioner terhadap peningkatan penguasaan materi dan keberhasilan kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap materi yang disampaikan mencapai rata-rata sebesar 88,2%. Beberapa kendala seperti lemahnya jaringan internet dan labtop yang tiba-tiba error harus menjadi perhatian lebih lanjut untuk diperbaiki pada kegiatan masa mendatang.

Abstract

In designing lecture materials for one semester in the form of a concept map, there are some steps that are absolutely necessary, especially for lecturers for learning planning and microteaching. In accordance with the description, the purpose of this research is to describe the process of learning improvement with a collaborative approach. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a descriptive approach and action. The subjects of the research were the 5th semester students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program totaling 26 people, then the method of data collection using observation, tests and documentation. Data analysis uses a qualitative descriptive model with data reduction activities, data presentation, and data verification or draw conclusions. The results of this study indicate that learning through a collaborative approach can improve teaching skills and prepare teaching preparation. This is marked by several things, namely 1) the learning tools prepared by students in the form of concept maps to be discussed; 2) an increase in students 'ability or understanding is influenced by the availability of maximum learning tools, learning media that can hone students' mindset such as observing, identifying, analyzing, discovering new things, communicating, and concluding the concepts of skill set and teaching skills with refers to concept maps that are made and assisted with learning tools, namely RPS, RPM, methods, learning media, learning resources, assessment, then makes chapter designs and lesson designs that have been prepared by the lecturer.

Abstract

Government policy to enforce online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic that is not supported by adequate facilities has become a significant obstacle for students and their parents. Each educational institution has different perspectives and perceptions. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the difference in perception between parents and teachers towards the implementation process and evaluation system of online learning. The data was collected using questionnaires of 17 indicators using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model criteria, then distributed online using random sampling techniques to parents and teachers throughout Indonesia at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels so that 118 data were obtained divided into 81 teachers and 37 parents. The results of the student test (t-test) obtained information that there is a difference in perception between parents and teachers, this can be seen from the t-test score of 1,919 with a sig score. 0.057. This is also evidenced by the average teacher response score of 66.19 which means positive, while the average response score of parents is 60.54 which means less positive to the application of online learning during COVID-19. The results of this study are expected to be used as an evaluation of online learning for the government in the future.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penggunaan gadget bagi anak bagai dua mata pisau. Di satu sisi memberikan dampak yang berbahaya bagi pengembangan karakternya, namun di sisi lain juga memberikan banyak manfaat bagi perkembangan anak, namun. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengembangkan kemampuan bahasa dan social anak maka dapat dikatakan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Lingokids ini sangat membantu dalam memperkaya dan meningkatkan pengetahuan kosakata bahasa inggris. Ada hal penting dengan menerapkan aplikasi ini yaitu anak pada umumnya memiliki sikap positif terhadap pembelajaran seperti kosakata melalui ponsel, walaupun di sisi lain, keterbatasan teknologi dan aktivitas pembelajaran yang tidak biasa dapat menghalangi kemampuan anak khususnya dalam mengenalkan dan meningkatkan kosakata anak.Abstract:  The use of gadgets like two blades for children. On the one hand, it has a harmful impact on their character development, but it provides many benefits for children's development also. Therefore, to develop language and social skills, it can be said that the use of this lingokids application helps students in enriching and increasing knowledge of English vocabulary. There is an important thing by applying lingokids games in vocabulary learning, namely that students generally have a positive attitude towards learning through smartphones, although, technological limitations and unusual learning activities can hinder children's abilities, especially in English vocabulary.
