Abstract

This study aims to determine multiple livelihood strategies and collaboration for livelihood strategies and preparation of extension programs in the perspective of gender equality in fishing communities. The research method uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data were analyzed descriptively and statistically The research location is in Limau District Tanggamus Regency and the number of respondents was 80 fishermen. The data used are primary and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the community applies a dual livelihood strategy and a collaborative livelihood strategy in Limau District consisting of On Farm strategy, On-Farm and Off-Farm, and On-Farm and Non-Farm. Cumulatively, the gender relations of fishermen's families in Limau District covering domestic, public and community activities have shown an equal division of labor between wives and husbands, namely 76.30 percent. Extension programs should aim at gender equality so as to increase their participation, access and control, as well as the benefits that women enjoy in developing coastal areas. Thus, the results of marine and fisheries development can touch all levels of society and bring society to prosperity and a better life.

Abstract

The success of rice farming which has high productivity and is able to meet people's food needs is largely determined by farmers as business actors. The behavior of farmers in farming is not only related to cultivation efforts, but also includes the contribution of farmers in group institutions which hopefully provide a lot of support for rice farming activities. The aims of this study are: 1) analyzing the institutional support for farmer participation. 2) analyzing the participation of healthy rice farmers. 3) analyzing the sustainability of healthy rice farming. 4) analyzing the institutional support for the level of farmer participation. 5) analyzing the effect of farmer participation level on the sustainability of healthy rice farming in Rejo Asri Village, Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency. This study uses survey method with the respondents in this study amounted to 50 healthy rice farmers. The research location was chosen purposively and used quantitative descriptive analysis methods with Multiple Linear Regression Test and Simple Linear Regression Test. The results showed that the role of the extension agent affected farmer participation, while the indicators of the leadership of the farmer group leader and access to information did not affect the participation of healthy rice farmers. The second objective shows that the level of farmer participation at the planning stage is included in the moderately participating category, at the implementation, benefit-taking, and evaluation stages are included in the very participating category. The third objective of the sustainability of healthy rice farming in this study is included in the very sustainable category. The fourth objective shows that the role of the extension worker affects the level of farmer participation, while the indicators of the leadership of farmer group leaders and access to information do not affect the level of participation of healthy rice farmers. The fifth objective is the influence of the level of farmer participation on the sustainability of healthy rice farming in Rejo Asri Village, Seputih Raman District, Central Lampung Regency with an r-square value of 0.553.

Abstract

Program Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi (AUTP) merupakan program asuransi untuk melindungi petani jika terjadi gagal panen sebagai akibat dari risiko banjir, kekeringan, dan serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman. Program ini berlaku sejak tahun 2015, namun sejumlah besar petani padi belum memanfaatkan perlindungan ini. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi petani pada pelaksanaan dan manfaat program AUTP dan mengkaji faktor-faktor yang berhubungan persepsi petani pada program AUTP di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Pengambilan sampel dipilih secara random sampling sebanyak 64 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dengan metode analisis Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi petani terhadap Program AUTP di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, masuk dalam klasifikasi rendah yaitu hanya sebesar 68,75 persen, sedangkan tingkat pendidikan nonformal, tingkat interaksi sosial, tingkat pemenuhan kebutuhan, dan tingkat pengetahuan tentang Program AUTP semuanya hubungan yang signifikan dengan persepsi petani. Berbeda dengan tingkat pendidikan formal dan tingkat pengaruh lingkungan sosial tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan persepsi petani pada Program AUTP.
