Abstract

This study raises the issue of how to improve speaking skills using the smartphone-based Pinterest application for second-semester students. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of speaking skills using the smartphone-based Pinterest application for second-semester students. The type of research used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects are second-semester students. The research instruments are an observation sheet and a performance test sheet. The data analysis technique used is the descriptive statistical technique. The results of the study on second-semester students, experienced a good increase from the learning outcomes of the first cycle to the second cycle, with the standard value of student learning mastery of 85 classical standards. The average value in the first cycle is 48.00 with the level of completeness of learning outcomes in the first cycle of 10% and 90% incomplete. While the learning outcomes in the second cycle with an average value of 85.46 with the completeness level of learning outcomes in the second cycle of 96%, this figure indicates that the average value of the first cycle and the second cycle has increased so that the smartphone-based Pinterest application in improving speaking skills can improve student learning outcomes. HIGHLIGHTS: Student skills in terms of pressure on speechreading and host script reading have gone up by 2.03; Student skills in terms of grammatical aspects have gone up by 2.2; Students' speaking skills in terms of vocabulary have gone up by 2.04;

Abstract

Perkembangan kota terjadi ketika fasilitas yang tersebar di suatu wilayah menjadi pusat kegiatan baru. Hal ini seiring dengan pembangunan sistem jaringan transportasi terencana yang dapat memberikan manfaat terhadap pergerakan lancar dan menguntungkan bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah karena ketersediaan jaringan transportasi yang memadai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan transportasi di perkotaan sebagai solusi dalam mengurangi kemacetan lalu lintas, mengurangi tingkat kerusakan jalan akibat beban berlebihan, biaya tinggi, dan waktu lama terbuang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan sumber data diperoleh dari sumber data primer dan sekunder, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan teori yang akan digunakan dalam mengembangkan sarana transportasi baru sebagai solusi serta alternatif dalam mengatasi dan mengurangi kemacetan lalu lintas dengan menggunakan media sungai dan kanal sebagai alur penghubung ke tempat aktivitas. Metode ini bergantung pada bagaimana sungai dan kanal digunakan untuk pergerakan kendaraan, seberapa baik jaringan jalan melayani, di mana area tertentu digunakan sebagai simpul pelayanan, dan di mana ada kemacetan lalu lintas. Sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh hasil penelitian, masalah yang paling mencolok adalah masalah transportasi di Kota Makassar, terutama tingkat kemacetan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat mengintegrasikan sistem jaringan dan kegiatan masyarakat yang memudahkan pergerakan masyarakat sehingga mengurangi penggunaan kendaraan pribadi menuju pusat transit perkotaan untuk pergi ke tempat aktivitas. Sistem transportasi perkotaan ini menghubungkan beberapa area perumahan sehingga memudahkan sampai ke jalan-jalan utama untuk melanjutkan kegiatannya. Sungai dan kanal di Kota Makassar berpotensi untuk dibangun sebagai jalur transportasi penumpang dan barang dengan kapal kayu, fiber, atau speedboat, serta tongkang untuk mengangkut material.

Abstract

Studi ini merupakan penelitian ex-post facto pada bulan Maret-April Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021 di SMAN 9 Pinrang dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa Kelas XI SMAN 9 Pinrang. Varibel gaya belajar diukur menggunakan angket. Sedangkan variabel hasil belajar fisika datanya dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen dokumen. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh: 1) Gaya belajar yang dominan di Kelas XI SAN 9 Pinrang adalah gaya belajar visual yaitu sebesar 44%, kemudian gaya belajar kinestetik sebesar 36%, dan yang paling sedikit adalah gaya belajar auditori dengan persentase sebesar 20%; dan 2) Berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linear menggunakan SPSS 21 diketahui bahwa nilai signifikansi regresi sebesar 0.263 yang berarti lebih besar dari 0,05, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh variabel bebas (X) terhadap variabel terikat (Y) atau gaya belajar siswa tidak mempengaruhi hasil belajarnya. Sedangkan berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan Microsoft Excel diperoleh persamaan Y = 86,92998-0,10133x. Tanda negatif pada koefisien regresi menunjukkan bahwa gaya belajar siswa justru berpengaruh negatif terhadap hasil belajarnya. Adapun hasil perhitungan korelasi Pearson diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,728 artinya lebih besar dari 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa antara variabel X (Gaya Belajar) dengan varibael Y (Hasil Belajar) itu tidak berkorelasi.

Abstract

Strengthening disciplinary character education through disciplinary development is an inseparable part of Islamic boarding schools. As traditional Islamic educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools have broader goals than simply transmitting religious knowledge. One of the main goals of Islamic boarding schools is to form an Islamic character in students. Discipline is a means of creating attitudes and behaviors that are contrary to the teachings of the Islamic religion, including obedience, patience, and responsibility. This research aims to find and explain discipline development activities in strengthening character education in Islamic boarding schools. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a field focus at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, Central Sulawesi. Data collection methods are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis method uses data reduction techniques, presentation, verification, and conclusions. The research found that strengthening disciplinary character education and developing disciplinary character were two important activities at the Al-Istiqamah Ngatabaru Modern Islamic Boarding School, South Sulawesi. Through these two activities, the disciplined character of students can be realized to support various religious activities in Islamic boarding schools. From this disciplined character in participating in religious activities, students become individuals who master a lot of religious knowledge and always behave well in everyday life.

Abstract

The choice of learning model has an impact on the results achieved. The aim of this research was to find out how Problem Based Learning (PBL) was implemented and how was the implications of implementing Problem Based Learning on students’ learning outcomes in learning Islamic Religious Education at class VIII PAI learning at SMPN 7 Palu. The approach used qualitative descriptive method, by using observation, interview and documentation. The sample of this research was the Eighth-grade students at SMPN 7 Palu. The result showed that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning in learning Islamic religious education at SMPN 7 Palu has been running well. After applying the PBL method, the students feel more interested in learning Islamic religious education. They were challenged in solving the problems they have because they were feeling enthusiastic and interested in learning.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the problems of diversity in students' educational backgrounds and the policies of the UIN Datokarama Palu Arabic Language Education (PBA) learning program. The type of research used in this research is qualitative field research. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses the Huberman and Miles method. The results of the research show that the Arabic language learning problems faced by students of the Arabic Language Study Program (PBA) at UIN Datokarama Palu consist of language proficiency problems, psychological problems, and intellectual problems. The Arabic language study program policy is to manage these problems through the application of various learning methods and models, the provision of scholarships, and the formation of Arabic study groups. Through the application of various learning methods and models, language proficiency problems faced by students can be overcome. Meanwhile, providing scholarships is effective in overcoming the psychological problems faced by students. The formation of an Arabic study group is effective in overcoming language proficiency problems and intellectual problems.

Abstract

Leadership in Islamic education is facing growing challenges that require a shift from single-authority systems toward more collaborative and participatory governance. This study aims to analyze how the collective-collegial leadership model of the kyai operates in managing Islamic educational institutions. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving kyais, administrators, and committee members. The findings reveal three major themes: distributed authority that balances moral legitimacy and administrative efficiency; collaborative governance that ensures transparency, shared responsibility, and policy sustainability; and collective leadership that institutionalizes a unified organizational vision through formal documentation. The study’s novelty lies in integrating Islamic values of (deliberation), ukhuwah (brotherhood), and amanah (trust) into a structured model of participatory leadership. The results imply that leadership development in Islamic education should emphasize ethical collaboration, institutional documentation, and inclusive decision-making to achieve long-term organizational resilience.

Abstract

This study examines the pedagogical reasoning of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in integrating religious knowledge and social sciences at MA Miftahul Huda Banyuwangi. The integration of knowledge is a crucial issue in Islamic education, particularly in responding to the dichotomy between religious and general sciences that still persists in learning practices. This research aims to analyze how PAI teachers plan, implement, and evaluate learning by integrating Islamic teachings with social realities through pedagogical reasoning processes. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving PAI teachers, students, and school leaders. The findings indicate that teachers’ pedagogical reasoning is reflected in five interconnected stages: comprehension of subject matter, transformation of content, instructional implementation, evaluation of learning, and reflective practice. Through this process, teachers are able to contextualize Islamic teachings with social issues such as tolerance, social justice, and community life. This study recommends strengthening teachers’ pedagogical reasoning competencies through continuous professional development to support integrative Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the thought of Abu Yusuf Ya‘qub ibn Ishaq al-Kindī (801–873 CE) as a pioneer in integrating the rational sciences (science and philosophy) with Islamic disciplines in the classical Islamic intellectual tradition. Using a historical-analytical approach through a literature review, the article analyzes al-Kindī’s works and secondary studies to map his conceptions of the sources of knowledge, the status of reason, and the relationship between philosophical demonstration and the authority of revelation. The analysis situates al-Kindī’s ideas within the context of the translation movement and the reception of Greek philosophy, and then compares them with the needs of contemporary Islamic scholarship. The findings show that al-Kindī affirms that the truth of philosophy does not contradict the truth of revelation, since both ultimately derive from the same source—God. His views on intellect (al-‘aql), cosmology, and ethics demonstrate a systematic effort to bridge the Hellenistic tradition with Islamic values without undermining the authority of religious texts. The relevance of his thought today is evident in strengthening the paradigm of integrating religious knowledge and modern science, particularly as a conceptual foundation for curricula, research, and academic culture in Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. This article highlights al-Kindī’s contribution to shaping a scientific attitude that is critical, dialogical, and responsible, while also offering a theoretical reference for responding to multidisciplinary challenges, the secularization of knowledge, and the fragmentation of disciplines in the public sphere. The implication is that the integration of knowledge needs to be developed through philosophical literacy, methodological strengthening, and a tawḥīd-based ethics of scholarship within Islamic education.
