Abstract

This development research aims to: (1) prove the feasibility and practicality of articulate storyline media in learning about food and the digestive system (2) to prove that articulate storyline media with problem based learning (PBL) model in learning about food and the digestive system is effective in improving critical and creative thinking skills (3) to prove that articulate storyline media with project based learning (PJBL) model in learning about food and the digestive system is effective in improving critical and creative thinking skills. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with ADDIE development model. The subjects in this study were biology subject teachers and students of class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2 SMAN 6 Samarinda and class XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 at SMAN 4 Samarinda. Data testing was carried out by testing the feasibility of the media, the practicality of the media, the effectiveness test using the Manova test and the N-Gain test. The results of the study obtained: (1) articulate storyline media is feasible and practical to be used in the learning process (2) articulate storyline media with problem based learning (PBL) learning model in learning about food and the digestive system is effective in improving critical thinking skills (3) articulate storyline media with project based learning (PJBL) learning model in learning about food and the digestive system is effective in improving creative thinking skills. Based on the manova test, a significance value of 0.000 (sig <0.05) was obtained, so it was concluded that there are learning models that have different abilities in terms of influencing critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills simultaneously.

Abstract

The use of media in early childhood learning is one way to support children's cognitive development. At Al Muhajirin Islamic Kindergarten in Samarinda, media use is not yet varied, resulting in underdevelopment of children's cognitive abilities. This study used a population of 75 and a sample of 30 children. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instruments used were RPPH, assessment rubric, and pretest-posttest questions. The cognitive development indicators assessed in this study were naming the number symbols 1-10, using number symbols to count, matching numbers with symbols, recognizing vowel and consonant symbols, representing objects in pictures/writing, recognizing differences based on size, and demonstrating exploratory and investigative activities. The results of this study before the treatment showed that 63% of students hadn't developed and 37% had begun to develop. After the treatment, the results were 23% developing as expected and 77% developing very well. The N-Gain Test results showed a prevalence of 0.76, which is categorized as high, indicating that the use of picture cards depicting Kalimantan animals is effective as a teaching variation material for teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using origami paper folding techniques in improving the fine motor skills of 5-6 year old children at Barunawati 3 Kindergarten in Samarinda. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre experimental design, One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample used was total sampling, namely all 23 children in group B at Barunawati 3 Samarinda. The results of this study showed that the pretest score 50.10, categorized as developing, and after the treatment, the average posttest score was 75.43, categorized as developing as expected. The n-gain score obtained a value of 0.6 < 0.7 with a percentage of 67.05%. placing it in the moderate category, which means that the use of origami paper folding techniques in improving children’s fine motor skills is quite effective. The n-gain score results show an improvement in fine motor skill after treatment using the origami paper folding technique. Furthermore, the significance value obtained in the hypothesis test was 0.000 < 0.05, which means that the significance value is smaller than α = 0.05. the t-count value obtained was 41.356 and the t-table value obtained was 1.713, so it can be seen that t-count > t-table, namely 41.356 > 1.713.
