Abstract

The study was conducted from January to July 2018 in four sub-districts (Bunga Raya, Sabak Auh, Sungai Apit and Sungai Mandau) in Siak Regency. The sample of farmers in this study were 203 people who were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was done by interviewing techniques using questionnaires and field observations. The analysis of the sustainability of lowland rice farming was carried out based on the assessment of index and sustainability status using the Rap-Rice method in Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS). The purpose of this study was to analyze the index and the status of sustainability of the socio-cultural dimensions of wetland farming and analyze the role of each of the socio-cultural attributes that have sensitivity to the management of rice farming in the future. The results of Rap-Rice analysis of the seven socio-cultural attributes analyzed, two attributes provide sensitivity to the District (Bunga Raya, Sabak Auh and Sungai Mandau). Four attributes give sensitivity to Sungai Apit District. The attribute that gives sensitivity to all sub-districts is the attribute of attending training / counseling. Based on socio-cultural conditions, the analysis of wetland rice farming in Siak District showed a fairly sustainable category for Bunga Raya District (56.7%), Sabak Auh (50.80%) and Sungai Mandau (51.10%) while for Sungai Apit Subdistrict the value was obtained (47.70%) or less sustainable .

Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze the factors of physical environmental conditions and sanitation in realizing a healthy canteen (2) analyze the behavior of food handlers in realizing a healthy canteen on the Riau University campus (3) analyze policies related to efforts to create a healthy canteen on the Riau University campus (4) analyze the formulation of strategies and recommendations to realize a healthy canteen on the Riau University campus. This research was conducted in 8 canteens at the Riau University Campus, Pekanbaru City, which are located at the Bina Widya Campus, Gobah Campus and Diponegoro FK Campus. The tools and materials in this study used in this study were the meter, luxmeter, questionnaire, interview sheet which was used to measure the variables studied, by filling out the question sheet. This study uses a quantitative descriptive design approach, to obtain factors of environmental conditions and sanitation as well as food handler behavior. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires, interviews and observations. Data on factors of physical environmental conditions were taken by observation, including canteen sanitation facilities and canteen equipment sanitation. Data on the hygiene factors of food handlers were taken by means of questionnaires and observations. The data taken include personal hygiene of food handlers, nail hygiene, use of aprons and shoes when cooking and hand washing habits. All data will be compared with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1096/MENKES/PER/VI/2011 concerning Food and Service Sanitation Hygiene. The entire data that has been collected is tabulated in a table and analyzed descriptively using Microsoft Excel software.Based on the research data, it is known that from the sanitation indicators assessed, some canteens still cannot meet the requirements to realize a healthy canteen. the results of the assessment of the behavior of food handlers amounted to 8 people, there were 4 (50%) respondents who behaved less well, 4 (50%) respondents behaved quite well and no respondents behaved very well. Bad behaviors include not washing hands after defecating, not using PPE such as headgear and aprons, and smoking behavior. And there is still a lack of knowledge of handlers about healthy canteens, and knowledge related to sanitation and hygiene. The quadrant position for the healthy canteen management strategy at the UNRI campus based on the IFAS value of 1.33 and the EFAS value of 1.23 lies in quadrant I or the SO strategy. SO strategy is an aggressive strategy that uses internal strengths to take advantage of external opportunities. The strategy that can be applied is by conducting regular canteen supervision and improving healthy canteen policy soup and personal hygiene supervision for food handlers. Based on the research that has been done regarding the management of healthy canteens on the UNRI Campus, several things can be suggested, namely. (1) for further researchers, it is necessary to carry out further studies related to food equipment, food ingredients, and healthy food presentation in realizing a healthy canteen on the UNRI campus, (2) it is necessary to strengthen the healthy canteen policy on the UNRI campus. (3) the canteen owner is expected to improve the hygiene and sanitation of the canteen more optimally by increasing healthy behavior, especially for food handlers.

Abstract

Hazardous and Toxic Substances (B3) are substances, energy, and or other components which due to their nature, concentration, and or quantity, either directly or indirectly, can pollute and or damage the environment, and or endanger the environment, health, and the survival of humans and other living things. Hospitals need to carry out B3 waste management properly so as not to have an impact on the environment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the volume, characteristics, management, strategies, and economic and social impacts of B3 waste at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. This research was conducted at Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province in June-July 2020. This research is a mixed methods research. The data used are primary and secondary data. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe giant mudskipper fish is a type of non-economic fish found in muddy river mouths. This study aimed to determine the percentage of the body parts of the giant mudskipper fish. The method used in this research was exploratory in which the data is analyzed descriptively. The method of determining the body parts of the fish is done by separating the parts of the fish consisting of the flesh, internal organs (intestines, liver, pancreas, swim bladder, heart), skin and scales. The percentages of the cloth are calculated as the percentage of the body parts of the giant mudskipper fish. The results of the calculation of the body parts of the giant mudskipper fish showed that the percentage of meat was 25%, viscera 5%, skin, and scales 70%. The giant mudskipper fish had a fat content of 0.48% body weight. The proportion of the most of the giant mudskipper fish was the skin and scales of 70%. Keywords: Fat content, Morphology of giant mudskipper fish, Percentage

Abstract

This study aims to determine the secondary metabolic content of saponin contained in the active fraction of sea cucumber (Stichopus vastus) by using metabolic test reagents and thin-layer chromatography (TLC) analysis. The active fraction was given the reagent in the form of HCl 2N and strong acid then continued with analysis to determine the Rf value and lieberman-burchad reaction. The results of the metabolic reaction test showed that the active fraction contained steroidal saponin compounds characterized by the presence of a stable foam and the formation of a greenish-green color. TLC analysis produced a single stain with an Rf value of 0.9 and a bluish color reaction after being given Liberman-burchad which confirmed that the saponins contained in the active fraction of sea cucumbers were steroidal saponin
