Abstract

The main focus of this article is to explore the wealth of wisdom encapsulated in the proverb "Nai Ngalis Tuka Ngengga," which is ingrained in the culture of Hambor Manggarai. The goal of this writing is to make the local wisdom of Nai Ngalis Tuka Ngengga in the Hambor Manggarai culture a philosophical study to enhance the awareness of Indonesian society in living and interpreting their being in the midst of the community, particularly in embracing a narrative of peace. The concept of authenticity by Martin Heidegger emphasizes how Dasein, which is the human being aware of its existence in the world, plays a role in this context. In the exposition on authenticity, authentic Dasein becomes the answer to human forgetfulness of its existence in the world. In this context, "Being" describes the wisdom of the Manggarai people in understanding and embracing the Hambor culture in their daily lives. The research methodology used in this study is qualitative research with a literature review approach. The research findings indicate that the proverbial wisdom in embracing Hambor culture represents authentic consciousness in the community's celebration of the narrative of peace. This research contributes to addressing the conflicts present in society today, such as identity politics, conflicts related to the construction of places of worship, and widespread human rights violations due to a lack of understanding of the meaning of Hambor culture.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the phenomenon of catcalling as a form of verbal sexual harassment against women in Malang from the perspective of Emmanuel Levinas' facial philosophy. This catcalling terminology emerged from several large urban areas in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Malang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya. Catcalling is called verbal sexual harassment because the perpetrator responds to the victim, such as whistling, sexually nuanced remarks in the form of words that make the victim uncomfortable, feel humiliated and attack the victim's sexual attributes. Among urban communities, the term catcalling has a vague meaning because it is a joke or joke to victims, most of whom are women. This paper aims to describe, analyze and find out the form of communication from catcalling. The author uses a phenomenological analysis methodology. The type of research used is qualitative research methods: a critical reading of the text and observations. As for the findings in this study, they were catcalling, verbal sexual harassment and rape culture. For Levinas, the victim or woman who experiences catcalls is the other who is tortured and harmed.

Abstract

The main focus of this writing is to analyze the concept of Aristotle's ethics of friendship in relation to efforts to achieve social well-being for domestic workers. Aristotle's concept of ethics of friendship is seen to have a contribution in upholding rights and realizing social well-being for domestic workers. The method used in this writing is literature study with a phenomenological approach, viewed from the perspective of Aristotle's ethics of friendship. The current phenomenon of life shows that domestic workers often do not receive legal protection and justice. The forms of injustice experienced by domestic workers include unjust wages, violence, and lack of social security. This happens because domestic workers are considered low-class workers who are exploited by employers for their own interests. This ultimately prevents domestic workers from experiencing well-being. The findings of this writing are that efforts to achieve social well-being for domestic workers can be realized if everyone realizes the presence of others as friends. Building friendship is very useful in maintaining harmony and creating well-being. This concept of friendship is ultimately crucial for domestic workers to ensure their rights and lead them to well-being. Friendship helps individuals to broaden their perspective that everyone has the same rights and dignity. This is capable of bringing human beings to well-being because its criterion lies in the well-being of each individual

Abstract

The methodology used in this research is qualitative literature by examining various sources related to the phenomenon under study. The results shown in this study are that when everyone wants to live in peace as brothers and sisters in their country and country, it turns out that there are still many individuals who are actually present by instilling the value of hatred in children who actually become the forerunners of future leaders for the Indonesian nation. It cannot be denied that everyone is free to express themselves, but the freedom that occurs in connection with this phenomenon will only raise new problems, specifically related to the understanding of religion. Abstract

This study aims to explain Jean Baudrillard's concept of hyperreality specifically the objectification of the subject in the context of contemporary culture. According to Jean Baudrillard, in the world of hyperreality which is controlled by the latest information and communication technology, humans have lost their subjectivity. The object has controlled the subject so that there is no other choice for the subject but to allow himself to be in the control of the object. The objectification character of this subject is evident in the subject's passivity when using the internet, being in front of the television, and also the advertising machine. According to Baudrillard, in the face of these three forms of contemporary culture, the subject has been reduced to an object so that the subjectivity and dimensions of the subject's consciousness become dead. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative method by conducting a literature study. The author specifically explores Jean Baudrillard's writings entitled “Simulacra and Simulation” (1981) which discusses a lot about the concept of hyperreality. The findings of this study are (1) subjects in contemporary culture have been reduced to objects through the simulation and simulacra skills of mass media technology, especially the internet, television, and advertising; (2) the objectification of this subject can be countered by re-realizing human subjectivity, namely the subject of consciousness.

Abstract

This article discusses the phenomenon of environmental damage due to Freeport's mining exploitation in Papua. The activities of Freeport mining have caused environmental pollution in the Papua region. The purpose of this paper is to criticize Freeport's mining activities as actions that no longer consider the integrity of nature and society. The people are no longer seeing nature as the center and source of life but as a reality that serves human interests. Method used in this paper is a critical analysis of the phenomenon of environmental damage in Papua in terms of Hans Jonas' ethics of responsibility. Phenomena of environmental damage in Papua is a form of irresponsible actions carried out by PT Freeport which only focuses on fulfilling personal interests without considering the integrity of nature created in the future. Destroying nature is tantamount to destroying the future of mankind. The ethics of responsibility of Hans Jonas provides a new model of thinking for society and government institutions, namely that humans must preserve and maintain the integrity of nature as a form of responsibility for the sustainability of life in the present and future. The act of preserving the environment can only occur if there is fear (the fear heuristic) in every society to damage nature because nature basically has moral rights, and especially the act of destroying nature carried out by the community threatens the survival of Indonesian society in the future.
