Abstract

Road Maintenance Program has been changed as Road Preservation Program. This is due to the years of permanent distress on flexible pavement even if yearly maintenance works have been always done. This concept changing give various several important questions. One of these is how the road components should be classified. Finally, it can be noted that classification must be built based on road space and road physical components and the importance level in carrying out the road function. Brief, first the basic road physical components for flowing the traffic, second the road physical components for facilitating basic public facilities that must be placed along the road network.  The first components basically consist of pavement, drainage, sign & marking, guard-rail, shoulder. While the second components consist of greenery, and facility, such as for electrical line, telephone line, potable water pipe, gas pipe, etc.

Abstract

Abstract

The public perception that the quality of public transport service is very bad cause the number of private vehicle users is very high compared with the number of users of public transport. Therefore, an initial identification of the Commuter Train influence area by feeder is required. The goal is to know how big the area of the Commuter Train influence area viewed from the use of public transport feeder on the way to and leave the station. The method used in this initial identification is the collection of primary data by conducting interview survey of SUSI Commuter Train and the SULAM Commuter Train. Survey is conducted from two different directions in the morning departure hours only. The result of initial identification is known that the city of Surabaya has the Commuter Train influence area of SUSI Commuter Train and the SULAM Commuter Train 2 different directions in the morning departure hour by using feeder to the origin station of 9000 meters (20%) and from the destination station of 6000 meter (63.64%).

Abstract

Synthetic model development is always very laborious and complicated task. Therefore, a more practical modeling method based on traffic flow data is necessary. In general, this development task has practically never been tried in ITS. A first attempt has been done and provided a calculation method called Experimental Model PADI 0.0. The experiment showed that mathematically it was a Simultaneous Linear Equations (SLE) Case. This model was still very primitive and needed to be developed. Thisresearch was aimed to develop the Model PADI 0.0. A more complicated case, a proportional distribution case, had been taken for this attempt. The results indicated that the Model PADI 0.0 was valid to solve the experimental case. Furthermore, for the same transportation network model, the trip distribution pattern does not affect the SLE form. Afterward the experimental case still needed to be developed by integrating a more complicated traffic assignment model.

Abstract

Transportation demand model plays an important role in transportation planning. Synthetic model development seems to be very complicated since it's always time and money consuming. This, the more practical and simpler modenling method becomes a great necessities. The recent idea is using traffic flow data to develop an origin destination matrix. The objective of this research is to develop a distribution model based on a traffic flow data. A very simple model having 4 zones, 4 links, uniform distribution, and basic all-or-nothing assignment, had .been used as a study case. The result show that the mathematical model is a simultaneous linear equations model. Since the number of linear equations developed based on traffic flow data is less than the number of origin destination matrix cells, 4 trip production

Abstract

Transport Model is always needed and important for developing Transportation System Master Plan. Trip Distribution is one of the important parts of Transport Model, which is a result mathematical operation of trip generation and deterrence function. Trip Length Distribution Pattern is the foundation of Deterrence Function. The trip length distribution pattern can change due to the various trip length interval used. Analog to this, the Deterrence Function can also change. The research result indicate that the distribution pattern change significantly on trip length interval 1 to 3 km. For trip length interval of 4 to 8 km, the trip length distribution indicate the general characteristic of trip length distribution, i.e. the number of trips is high in short distance and getting down in the longer trip distance. The trip interval of 7 km gives the most accepted Tanner Deterrence Function.

Abstract

Trip Distribution Model is a very important part of Transport Modeling. This is a result of a mathematical operation among Trip Generation, Generalized Cost Matrix, and Deterrence Function. Thus, it can be understood easily that having a correct and appropriate Deterrence Function Formula is important. Here, correct means that the curve form is in concordance with typical Trip Length Distribution pattern. While, appropriate means that the function is easy to be manipulated in getting a good conformity with the Trip Length Distribution. Three Deterrence Function types, i.e. negative power, negative exponential, and Tanner, were investigated. The investigation was done upon Negative Power Function, Negative Exponential Function and 4 combinations of Tanner Function. The research result indicates that the Negative Power and the Negative Exponential are correct. While, among the four Tanner Function combinations, the correct ones are only the Tanner Function – Negative Power Negative Exponential and the Tanner Function – Positive Power Negative Exponential. The correct and appropriate Deterrence Functions are the above four Basic Functions multiply by a Constant.
