Abstract

Children's education is something that really needs to be considered, so that they get knowledge that has the correct evidence. Therefore, educational materials for children also need to be checked to the maximum, especially in learning hadith given to children in kindergarten. It has been found that many of the hadith materials given to students are derived from hadith that are dhaif and not even from the Prophet Muhammad's hadith, but are considered as a hadith. The purpose of this research is to trace the hadith materials taught in the Integrated Islamic Kindergarten Schools in Padang City that are in accordance with the hadith delivered by the Prophet Muhammad. The research method used a qualitative method in the form of library research. This research model is a study of takhrij hadith related to hadith learning materials about ethics at the Integrated Islamic Kindergarten School in Padang City. The results of the research findings can be concluded that first, there are many errors in the writing of hadith learning materials due to the infiltration of hadith and writing does not refer to the books of hadith. Secondly, the author's search to the hadith books for 25 hadith that have been taught to students of Integrated Islamic Kindergartens in Padang City. The hadiths contained in the learning materials of the students of the Integrated Islamic Kindergarten in Padang City consist of 16 hadiths of saheeh quality, 2 hadiths of hasan quality, 1 hadith of Hasan saheeh status and 1 hadith of hasan gharib status, 3 hadiths of Maudhu' status and 2 hadiths whose source books were not found based on the snippets of matan taught.

Abstract

This study examines the approach used in comprehending hadith through ijmā’  and its ramifications for Islamic law in Indonesia, especially the hadiths of the month of Qamariyah. This is an ahkam hadith study that employs hadith science and Islamic law theory, particularly ijmā'. This study reaches the following conclusions: Firstly, there are varieties of approaches for comprehending the customs of the month of Qamariyah, particularly in defining the month of fasting and holidays in Indonesia, which is seen as essential. This interpretation triggers the emergence of a two-poled, textual and contextually distinct views of Islamic law. Although such discrepancies can tarnish Islamic symbols, it is believed that they would spark social discord in Indonesian culture. Second, ijmā’  as a source and method of interpreting Islamic law can be used to prevent the susceptibility of social conflicts in society, particularly when debates go beyond ethical principles. Otherwise, this concern worsens when it is used by agents both individuals and groups, who frequently exploit the current circumstances for their own political gain and ultimately polarize and divide society socially. Thirdly, the ijmā' conducted by the government during the isbath session with the participation of all religious organizations in Indonesia, including MUI, NU, Muhammadiyah, DDII, PERSIS, and Al-Washliyah, is a positive development for the certainty and benefit of Islamic law. Hence, the ijmā' approach of analyzing hadith is consistent with Islamic legal standards. Musāyarah bi al-maṣāliḥ al-nās signifies that the determination of a law must be in accordance with human benefits, both individually and socially, particularly within the context of the state.

Abstract

This article investigates the model of neighborly social relations as a practical and behavioral manifestation in the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. The study employs an interdisciplinary approach to analyze the ethical corpus of hadith through thematic-correlative exploration, aiming to actualize the values of neighborliness in the contemporary context. The study examines traditions on neighborly ethics contextualized using the structural-functionalism theory. A qualitative method based on desk-based data was employed, while the content analysis identified configurations of positive social relationships in the canonical hadith collection. These relationships are oriented towards assertive-responsive and affective-responsive values that guide Muslims in balancing rights and obligations to create mutual harmony. Neighborly relations, as emphasized in the hadith as a reflection of faith, contribute significantly to creating solidarity and harmony in local and global communities. By integrating the perspectives of structural functionalisms of Talcott Parsons and Emile Durkheim, this study offers a systematic framework for understanding and applying the ethical values in the hadith. The article argues that such values are essential for individual moral development and for maintaining social cohesion. The results of this study highlight the relevance of hadith-based neighborly ethics as a universal mechanism for promoting peaceful coexistence in modern societies.

Abstract

This article examines the research of Ahmad ‘Ubaydi Hasbillah, which identifies Ahmad Hassan as a prominent figure in textual hadith studies. In his book Nalar Tekstual Ahli Hadis: Akar Formula Kultur Moderat Berbasis Tekstualisme, ‘Ubaydi asserts that Ahmad Hassan belonged to a group known for its strong textualist approach, displaying remarkable diligence in hadith studies. This article uses Ahmad Ubaydi Hasbillah’s research as a framework to explore Ahmad Hassan’s understanding of various hadiths. Specific topics discussed include the hadiths on licking dogs, reciting al-Fatiha in congregational prayers, touching the Qur'an, drawing or cheap images, and the use of sutrah in prayer. As an Indonesian scholar, Hassan was known for his courage in opposing views not grounded in the primary sources of Islamic law—namely, the Qur'an and Hadith. His understanding of these hadiths has occasionally been labeled as radical due to his firm stance. Although Hassan is primarily associated with a textual approach, he also integrated contextual analysis in certain instances.

Abstract

This study aims to trace the status and quality of hadith about qurban and its understanding as stated in the Al-Azharan Guidebook, which is the official guide for students in the Al-Azhar Foundation. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. The main source of this research is the Al-Azharan Guidebook, while supporting sources include Mu'jam Al-Mufahras lil Al-Hadith Al-Nabawiy, Sunan Abu Daud, hadith commentaries, rijalul hadith literature, and relevant scientific articles. Digital data searches were conducted through Dimensions and Google Scholar, while visualisation of relationships between journals was analysed using the VOSviewer application. The results showed that the hadith referenced in the book has a valid sanad and a valid matan, with all its narrators categorised as tsiqah by hadith scholars. The hadith confirms the validity of the qurban after the Eid al-Adha prayer and explains the special case of Abu Burdah as an exception. The book shows a tendency towards a textual understanding of the hadith, focusing on adherence to the shar'i procedures of qurban. However, there are shortcomings in the presentation of the hadith, especially the lack of a complete sanad and matan, which could potentially lead to misunderstandings. Therefore, it is recommended that the presentation of hadith in education books should be done fully and accurately to maintain the integrity of students' religious understanding.

Abstract

This research aims to represent the masculinity and femininity character of Umar bin Khattab as a hadith narrator contained in the hadith he narrated. Thus, the author is interested in examining the two characters of masculinity and femininity that are realized in the hadith and hadith narrators. The research method used in this research is socio-historical analysis (historical analysis) with the type of library research. The primary data that the author uses is al-Kutub at-Tis'ah. The initial search to collect the history of Umar bin Khattab could not look at al-Kutub at-Tis'ah because it could not detect the entire history of Umar bin Khattab. Therefore, apart from using software, the author also detected it through Ahmad bin Hanbal's Musnad book because the book was arranged with the names of friends. The secondary data are all references related to the research object such as history books, journals and so on. In the context of Umar bin Khattab, who was known as a masculine narrator, his feminine character was found. All of Umar bin Khattab's personal life, including his character or disposition, is not related to the hadith he narrated. There are two indications of Umar bin Khattab's character in the hadiths he narrated, namely based on the number of hadiths he narrated, of the 98 hadiths, 32 hadiths were found that described Umar bin Khattab's character, namely 27 hadiths that actualized masculine values and 5 hadiths that actualized feminine values, so that in the person of the narrator Umar is more dominantly masculine. And based on the 32 hadiths, there are 29 hadiths that discuss men and 3 hadiths that discuss women. The implication of the connection between Umar bin Khattab's masculinity value and the hadiths he narrated is that in terms of the narration of hadiths, Umar bin Khattab used his masculinity to spread and convey the Prophet's hadiths and did not abuse his masculinity to oppress the weak.

Abstract

This research is motivated by Federspiel's classification of hadith literature studies up to the 20th century, where one of its categories is reflected in the presence of the book Al-Ahadits Al-Mukhtarah by Buya Mawardi Muhammad. This book is a compilation of hadith used as teaching material in Islamic schools, and it serves as important evidence of the development of hadith studies in the Nusantara, particularly in Minangkabau. The focus of this research is on the 2 (second) chapter of the book Al-Ahadits Al-Mukhtarah, which has not been extensively studied before, as it contains hadiths on the themes of deeds and morals widely used in Islamic education. However, it has not been thoroughly examined in terms of writing systematics and hadith quality. Additionally, the writing of hadiths in that book in some parts does not fully adhere to the hadith writing rules formulated by scholars, necessitating a scientific study to assess its conformity with academic standards in the hadith discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis and takhrij al-hadits bi al-lafzhi methods to trace hadiths in the main book, focusing on 40 hadiths, which are analyzed in terms of sanad and matan and their conformity with primary sources (al-mashadir al-ashliyyah). This study found that the systematics of hadith writing in the book tends to be concise and thematic to facilitate student’s understanding. However, several editorial errors were found in both the sanad and matan aspects, which were most likely caused by the lengthy copying process, the involvement of calligraphers, and the use of references from secondary sources. In terms of quality, 72.5% of the hadiths are classified as shahih, 2.5% as hasan, and 25% as dha’if with varying degrees of weakness in the chain of narration. These findings indicate that the purpose of compiling the book emphasizes the conveyance of moral values and religious messages. Therefore, a scientific verification process is needed to improve the text and the hadith narrators so that this book remains suitable for use in the context of education and hadith studies. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh klasifikasi Federspiel mengenai kajian literatur hadis hingga abad ke-20, di mana salah satu kategorinya tercermin dalam kehadiran kitab Al-Ahadits Al-Mukhtarah karya Buya Mawardi Muhammad. Kitab ini merupakan kompilasi hadis yang digunakan sebagai bahan ajar di sekolah-sekolah Islam, serta menjadi bukti penting berkembangnya kajian hadis di Nusantara, khususnya di Minangkabau. Fokus penelitian ini tertuju pada juz 2 dari kitab Al-Ahadits Al-Mukhtarah yang belum banyak dikaji sebelumnya, karena memuat hadis-hadis bertema amal dan akhlak yang digunakan secara luas dalam pendidikan Islam, namun belum diteliti secara mendalam dari segi sistematika penulisan dan kualitas hadis. Selain itu, penulisan hadis dalam kitab tersebut pada beberapa bagian tidak sepenuhnya mengikuti kaidah penulisan hadis yang telah dirumuskan oleh para ulama, sehingga diperlukan kajian ilmiah untuk menilai kesesuaiannya dengan standar keilmuan dalam disiplin hadis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi dan takhrij al-hadits bi al-lafzhi untuk penelusuran hadis dalam kitab induk terhadap 40 hadis, yang dianalisis dari segi sanad dan matan serta ditelusuri kesesuaiannya dengan sumber-sumber primer (al-mashadir al-ashaliyyah). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa sistematika penulisan hadis dalam kitab cenderung ringkas dan tematis untuk memudahkan pemahaman siswa. Namun demikian, ditemukan sejumlah kekeliruan redaksi dalam aspek sanad maupun matan, yang dapat disebabkan karena proses penyalinan yang panjang, keterlibatan penulis kaligrafi, serta penggunaan rujukan dari sumber sekunder. Dari segi kualitas, sebanyak 72,5% hadist tergolong shahih, 2,5% hasan, dan 25% dha’if dengan kelemahan yang bervariasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa tujuan penulisan kitab ini lebih menekankan pada penyampaian nilai-nilai moral dan pesan keagamaan. Sehingga, diperlukan proses verifikasi ilmiah untuk memperbaiki redaksi dan mukharrij hadis agar kitab ini tetap layak digunakan dalam konteks pendidikan dan pengkajian hadis.
