Abstract

The river is an inseparable part of the maritime concept because it is very close to people's lives, both those who live in cities and villages. Of the many rivers in Indonesia, the focus of this study is the Brantas River with the reason that the phenomenon of environmental cleanliness is not maintained. This study aims to explain the Quintuple Helix model according to public perception as input for the government, universities and business actors to work together to create sustainable innovations in water management in the Brantas River. This study uses a descriptive method with a survey approach. The results show the actual condition of water management in the Brantas River from the community's point of view based on the results of a survey at the Brantas River location seen from the Quintiple Helix Model, namely the education system, economic system, natural environment, media and culture-based society, and lastly is the political system. Until the conclusion, form a Quintuple Helix innovation model which will be a powerful strategy for controlling water pollution in the Brantas River

Abstract

This study explores the impact of McClelland's social motives on entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and knowledge management behaviour (KMB), examining EO's mediating role in this relationship. Utilising a sample of 302 employees from Greater Jakarta, data were collected through online surveys and analysed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that social motives significantly influence EO, positively impacting KMB. The study underscores the importance of fostering a workplace culture that supports social motives such as achievement, power, and affiliation, as these drive entrepreneurial behaviours and effective knowledge management practices. EO serves as a crucial mediator, amplifying the beneficial effects of social motives on KMB. These insights suggest that organisations can enhance their innovation and competitive advantage by strategically managing human and knowledge resources. Practical implications include implementing policies and training programs that cultivate social motives and entrepreneurial orientation. Future research should explore the longitudinal effects and the moderating roles of organisational culture and leadership style, providing a more comprehensive understanding of these dynamics across diverse contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media learning and entrepreneurial orientation on the academic performance of Generation Z in higher education institutions. Conducted in Greater Jakarta from February to June 2023. It involved 216 gen Z participants. The research utilised Rasch Model Analysis and Chi-Square Analysis for data examination. The research results revealed that students proficient in entrepreneurial orientation and social media learning had better GPAs, although social media learning alone did not significantly impact academic performance. The study underscores the importance of combining entrepreneurial orientation with social media learning to enhance academic performance in Generation Z students. It highlights the need for further research, considering the limited geographical scope and the lack of data on specific educational social media platforms. This research contributes to understanding how to effectively use social media and entrepreneurial skills to improve academic outcomes in higher education settings.

Abstract

Understanding the behavior of freight and passenger transport companies as users of port services is essential to evaluate service quality performance because it will have an impact on port operational performance and also port service user satisfaction (companies and passengers). Therefore, this study aims to examine the impact of service quality on port operational performance and customer satisfaction from the perspective of port service users. This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods. The quantitative method uses PLS-SEM, while the qualitative method uses IPMA. Data were collected from two sample groups by distributing questionnaires to 50 freight transportation companies and 50 passengers of Luwuk Port in Banggai Regency. The results prove that service quality positively and significantly affects port operational performance and satisfaction in the sample group of freight and passenger transportation companies. The results of the IPMA analysis on both research samples still require improvement to improve port operational performance and port service user satisfaction.

Abstract

Since typical classrooms do not include discussions, collaborative learning, or interactive learning activities, engagement is a major challenge in distant learning. Online learning satisfaction levels should be measured as evaluation material for future implementation. Although online learning has many advantages, a high dropout rate remains a significant challenge. This study investigates how higher education students' engagement and satisfaction with online learning are enhanced by information, system, and service aspects. The research design was quantitative research, and we used a questionnaire to collect data. The questionnaire was designed on a five-rating interval scale. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The target minimum sample was counted using the Slovin method, and 206 undergraduate students taking online courses were surveyed online. The model was tested using structural equation modeling partial least squares (SEM PLS). This method is useful for investigating the relationship between constructs. The model was tested with the application of the SmartPLS program. The results revealed a positive and significant effect of system quality, information quality, service quality to student engagements, and their impact on student satisfaction, both direct and indirect. This study answers the literature gap and verifies the importance of online learning quality factors on students’ satisfaction and engagement. These results are expected to help to improve online learning in higher education settings, specifically on students' engagement and satisfaction, leading to perseverance and success.

Abstract

In the context of rapid economic change and increasing skill mismatches in Malaysia, understanding how private sector employees pursue continuing professional development has become a critical workforce development concern. This study explores the key factors motivating private-sector employees in Malaysia to enroll in executive academic programs, the benefits they expect, the skills most demanded by industry, and the learning structures and communication approaches that shape participation decisions. Data were collected using a drop-and-collect method and mail surveys, resulting in a final sample of 210 private sector employees. The findings indicate that career advancement, skill development, and networking opportunities are the primary drivers of participation. Leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical competencies such as financial management and data analysis emerge as the most sought-after skills. Respondents show a strong preference for hybrid learning formats and shorter program durations, alongside digitally mediated and personalized information channels when considering program enrollment. The findings provide practical insights for higher education providers, employers, and policymakers in designing development-oriented learning pathways that support private sector workforce capacity building and sustainable career progression.
